Review: The Balm Time Balm Concealer (Light)

Hey Beauties!

I had the chance to try some of The Balm makeup products. One of those was Betty-Lou Manizer, which I really liked as a bronzer. Today I have a review of their Time Balm Concealer in shade Light.

It comes in cute retro paper box. The concealer is in transparent plastic pot and with it you get small white sponge. I'm not sure if it's just for the "transport" purposes, but I assume it can be used on the go as well, for touch ups. I never do that anyway, so I can't comment on that. The packaging is not really hygienic, since you have to dip your fingers in when you use it, but most cream concealers come in those kind of pots.

You get 7.5 grams of product, which is pretty huge amount. I think it costs around 16€ in our country. The prices are different elsewhere. For example on Feelunique it costs around 20€.

The ingredients list.

Concealer is creamy and quite thick to the touch. Once you start swirling your finger in the pot it becomes more buttery and easier to blend into the skin. It's like butter, hard in the pot and creamier once it touches your finger and the warmth makes it movable.

It goes on creamy and doesn't really dry down completely. If you don't set it, it's still sticky to the touch.  It also depends on what you have underneath. You need to set it, otherwise it settles into fine lines, like those around your eyes. Even when you set it, it still accentuates little lines a little, which I'm not a fan of.

I don't agree with them on the coverage. They say it's full coverage, to me it's lighter medium. It doesn't completely cover blueness under the eye nor red patches. It covers just little imperfections. You can build it up a little, but sometimes it can look a bit cakey, if you overdo it.

It's supposed to be more of an eye concealer. Under my eyes I like using liquid concealers because of the moisturizing effect and the fact that they don't accentuate little lines as much. I like creamier concealers for red patches and dark undertones. However, this one doesn't really do either. So I find it interesting that it's an eye concealer.

It is very long lasting, which is always a plus. I can wear it all day and it almost stays the same. Maybe it fades a tiny bit.

The shade Light is anything but light. It's too dark for me now. It worked when I got it, because I still had some tan, but now when I'm getting paler, it doesn't work anymore. It seems to have a bit of peach undertone, which is good for under eye area, but unfortunately too dark for me to brighten it up.

I also compared it to my other cream concealers. As far as texture goes, it is most similar to MAC Studio Finish. They both have the same buttery feeling, but MAC's is thicker, because it's more pigmented. Catrice Camouflage Cream concealers are a bit lighter to the touch.

As far as the shade goes, The Balm is the only one with obvious peach undertone and it's definitely on the dark side among these. Catrice Camouflage in 010 Ivory has a very light yellow undertone and it's lighter than the Balm. Catrice Camouflage Cream in 020 Light Beige has the most obvious yellow undertone and it's also the darkest. MAC Studio Finish in NC 15 is the lightest of them all and also has a light yellow warm undertone.

Now it's time for me to demonstrate how it looks like under my eyes and on my face. Here are photos of no concealer and with, from left to right.

And the finished look with my everyday makeup. As you can see it still worked for me here, but as I'm getting paler, I'll just have to reserve it for spring and summer.

This concealer has an average cream concealer texture and an average packaging. I wasn't blown away by the coverage, because I like full coverage or at least medium coverage concealers. I think this is an average good concealer for those that don't really need a lot to cover. It is long lasting, which is a plus. I guess it did not impress me as I thought it would.

Review: Freedom Makeup Pro Lipstick (Pro Red 106 Fever) and Pro Highlight (Glow)

Hey Beauties!

I already wrote about the fact that Slovenian bloggers got some Freedom Makeup products to try out. I already reviewed Freedom Makeup Conceal Palette Pro in Light. I compared it with Makeup Revolution Ultra Cover and Conceal Palette in Light. Today I have a review of their Freedom Makeup Pro Lipstick Pro Red in 106 Fever and Freedom Makeup Pro Highlight in Glow.

Freedom Makeup Pro Lipstick Pro Red 106 Fever

The lipstick comes in a shiny plastic packaging. It's pretty basic. On the bottom you can see the shade of lipstick. It costs 1.95€ (licila.si) or 1£ (freedom makeup) and you get 3.5 grams. In the Pro Red collection you can choose among 5 different red shades.

The texture is very light and smooth. It has good pigmentation, but you need to go over the lips a few times. One swap won't cover entire lips. It's so smooth that it almost feels silicon like. It's not sticky nor heavy feeling on the lips. The finish is creamy with a tad bit of shine, which wears off through the day and becomes semi-matte

The texture actually reminds me a little of Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick in Not In Love. Not In Love is even more buttery, more hydrating or creamy and one of the best drugstore priced lipstick formulas.

It's very long lasting for a creamier formula and it wears off pretty evenly. It can go a bit over the lip line so I recommend using a lip liner with darker colors.

The shade 106 Fever is classic red. If you put on a light swatch it has an obvious blue cool undertone, but it kind of looks warm, when you apply a few more coats.

I also compared it to some of the other red lipsticks from my collection.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 01 Personne ne rouge! has the most warm undertone and it is more of an orange based red. It's also a bit darker. MUD Lady Bug is a few shades darker red and it has more of a blue undertone. Freedom Makeup Pro Lipstick in Pro Red 106 Fever is a mix of cool and warm undertone. On me it looks more warm. It's in the classic red range and it's not too dark nor light. Makeup Revolution in Dare is very thick to the touch and almost feels like a thick gel with pigment. It's a lot more "plastic" in terms of texture. This one is thinner in coverage, looks semi-matte and has more of a blue undertone, which means it almost looks a bit pink toned.

I was actually surprised by the formula. It's a perfect mix of creaminess and good payoff (not the best, but good). For the price of less than 2€ this is amazing. It sits nicely on the lips, doesn't dry them out, is lightweight and lasts a really long time. Definitely one of the best formulas for such a price. I could easily compare it to other drugstore lipsticks. Most of them are even more expensive and offer the same formula.

Freedom Makeup Pro Highlight Glow

Highlighter comes in a plastic shiny black packaging with transparent lid. You can see highlighter through the lid and it has a really nice embossed design which reminds me of wave. It costs 4.95€ (licila.si) or 3£ (freedom makeup) and you get 7.5 grams of it. There are 4 shades available.

The texture of it is very dry to the touch. One swipe in the pan produces a good amount of color, but it is sheer on the skin. It's definitely not really pigmented, but can be build up. I find this good for those who are afraid of highlighter, because it's really sheer at first, so you can't overdo it.

The shade Glow is very light yellow. It seems like it has almost white base and on top of it is very light yellow shade. It's not even gold, it's yellow. The shimmer in it is small and it gives a nice sheen to the skin. It almost looks a bit metallic, because it's pretty shiny. I only don't like the very obvious yellow tint of it. It's probably not going to be a wearable natural shade for most skin tones.

I also compared it to some of my other highlighters and as you can see non are similar. Glow is just very yellow toned. All other shades are either champagne, bronzed orange or slightly orange toned. As far as the size of shimmer goes, I feel like it's most comparable to Essence LE Metal Glam highlighter in 01 Gold Digger. Both have that metallic sheen to it and both go on a bit sheerer at first. The size of shimmer of both is almost the same.

If you apply it light it gives a nice light yellow shimmer. It's actually just-about-wearable, because it's pretty sheer. If you apply too much of it, it just looks too yellow. It's not highlighter for very pale or cool skin tones.

I love using it on my eyes as an eyeshadow. I applied it in the inner corner of the eye as well as the center of the lid.

I also used it in my Halloween inspired Pretty Leopard Makeup. It really worked there.

Yes to lipstick and no to highlighter. The lipstick formula is amazing for such a cheap price. It's creamy, wears nicely, it's lightweight and has good pigmentation. I wouldn't mind getting some more shades, because the formula is really nice. My shade 106 is a very basic lighter red. I'm not crazy about the highlighter only because of the shade. The formula is sheer, yet pigmented enough, it has just small enough shimmer and wears nicely. The shade Glow is completely off - yellow. If this was light gold shade, I would be all over it. Maybe try and find the right shade for you among other four shades.

Makeup Revolution Flawless Autumn Day Makeup - Collaboration with Tjaša from Beauty Chat

Hey Beauties!

I have another collaboration post for you today. It's a collaboration based on Makeup Revolution Flawless palette. This is perfect shade range for autumn makeup. So we with Tjaša decided to do a day and night makeup. I did a day wearable yet colorful version and she did the night bolder version.

Tjaša is a fellow beauty blogger from the same part of country (Prekmurje) and she has a blog called Beauty Chat. We met about a week ago and talked a lot about our favorite topic - makeup. She also loves makeup and especially likes doing it on other people, so I hope she'll include her "models" in future posts. She loves budget friendly, yet quality makeup, which is to be fair, quite hard to find sometimes. So go check out her blog and give her some support.

I started my eye makeup by applying mix of light and medium matte brown eyeshadow (Almost There and Smudge) in the crease. Then I darkened the outer edge with dark matte brown (Pure Chocolate). In my inner corner of the eye I used shimmery light gold (Angel).

A bit towards the crease I put shimmery peachy copper shade (Gold Digger). Then I added dark forest green shimmer shade (GreenStars) at the outer edge of the eye. Then I added another shimmery redish brown (Darkest Shimmer) at the center to connect all the shades together.

Around the lower lash line I did the exact same thing. Then I used black liquid liner to create slight wing. I tried to make it thin in the inner portion and then went thicker towards the outer edge.

On my eyelashes I used lots of black mascara.

On my face I used foundation, concealer and powder. The I added matte light bronzer all over the edges of my face. I also highlighted with light gold highlighter and added a bit of contour under my cheek bones. For the blush I decided to go with a matte light peach shade. On my lips I also used a dirty peach shade of lipstick to compliment my cheeks and before I outlined them with nude peach based brown lip liner.

That is my simple, colorful and day time appropriate autumn makeup look done using only Makeup Revolution eye shadow palette in Flawless. Go check out Tjaša's post to see how she created night time appropriate makeup look with darker colors. While you're these support her blog by subscribing.

Review: Essence Lipliners - new formula (11 In The Nude, 06 Satin Mauve)

Hey Beauties!

Essence recently changed their lip liner range. I believe the formulas are new, but I'm not sure if they also changed the colors (I can only say they did change 11 In The Nude). My old version of 11 In The Nude was getting smaller so I went in the store for a new one to find the new formula and design. I chose an additional mauve shade, which is actually perfect for autumn time.

The first change they made is the fact that the caps are the same color as pens. It makes it easier to find the right shade, if you have it in a glass for example. Before all of them had silver caps. I was also really surprised to see that they have a transparent sticker with ingredients list on the sides of pens. Really nice surprise.

Each lip liner costs 1.59€ and you get 1 gram of product.

As far as the formula goes, it's pretty hard now. Before there lip liners were so soft that you could easily mistaken them for lipsticks. I guess they felt the need to change that?! I liked the previous formula, because I saw it as a new lipstick for a very cheap price, but I get why they harden them. The lip liner should be a bit harder to prevent the lipstick from going over the line and to make it last longer, so I am not mad at Essence. Now their formula seems very similar to Catrice Longlasting Lip Pencils.

They are still creamy enough to easily spread over lips, but stay in place.

This means that lip liners are a lot more long lasting then they were before and that they stay in place and help to prolong the wear of lipsticks

11 In The Nude is light nude brown with peach undertone. On me it's definitely more of a brown shade and in no way nude. On someone with medium skin tone this could pass as a nude. It has a very obvious peach undertone to it.

06 Satin Mauve is as the name suggests a mauve shade. It's a really nice lighter mauve hue which is a great base for mauve and plum lipsticks. It has more of a warm undertone to it, which almost makes it look a bit brown. I like to just wear it on its own, because the shade is so pretty.

As you can see 11 In The Nude looks like a really nice warm light brown on me. I feel like this is my kind of nude, because it compliments my warm skin tone as well as gives my lips some color. I pair it with many brown and nude shades and really like it.

Here I put MAC Velvet Teddy on top of it.

I've been told that some think Essence Lipliner 11 In The Nude is a dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy and I disagree. Here is a swatch of both. Velvet Teddy is darker, has a lot deeper brown hue to it and almost seems to have a bit of mauve undertone to it, while 11 In The Nude is peachier brown. In no way a dupe, just to clarify.

I also swatched old formula of 11 In The Nude and as you can see the shades are a little different. Old version was actually a lot more brown and a tad darker. New version has more of a peach undertone and is lighter. I actually really like the change, because I'm pretty fair and you know I love warm toned shades.

06 Satin Mauve looks like a really nice not too dark mauve shade on my lips. Yes, it's still pretty dark and in no way nude or my lips but better shade on me. I think this has a perfect mix of brown and mauve and I absolutely adore it. One big plus for me is the fact that it's still warm enough for me, since a lot of purples, plums and mauves can be more cool toned.

I decided to apply MAC Patisserie over it, which is a lot lighter, but just gives it a bit of shine and moisture on top.

I am in love with both shades. The formula is harder, long lasting and makes for a great lip pencil. The price is just right and I am sure I'll be buying more. Essence lip liners are my favorite lip liners / pencils. I definitely recommend you to try these, if you still haven't.

Review: Essence The Gel Nail Polish (52 Amazed by You)

Hey Beauties!

A few weeks ago I got this beautiful autumnal plum nail polish. It was a gift by lovely Tatjana from Taya My Little Beauty World. She already had this shade and said it was really pretty and I couldn't agree more.

I've never been a fan of Essence nail polishes for one reason, because they always chipped on my nails. Usually the same day that I applied them on, which was really annoying, so I stopped buying them. Since then they came out with numerous new formulas and the latest one of them is gel inspired.

Nail polishes have a standard glass bottle. The caps are in the shade of actual nail polish, which is great for storage and finding it.

I believe the price is 1.69€ and you get 8 ml of it.

I really like the rounded at the edges brush. Before their brushes were straight cut and the quality of it wasn't all that. The brush is really nice, just soft enough to easily spread the products on the nails.

Formula is a perfect blend of creaminess and not too thick. It's pretty opaque, although this shade needs two coats. I almost always apply two coats of nail polish anyway. Its' really smooth and a dream to work with. Because of the brush the application is spot on and easy for someone like me, who still struggles with perfect edges. It also looks shiny. I can't say for how long, because I always apply top coat over it.

Onto my pet peeve...it's still not as long lasting as I would like it to be. I tried it with their gel base and top coat. It didn't chip the same day, so that was already a plus. I believe it lasted two days on me and then it started chipping. I know a lot of people don't have that problem, but most nail polishes chip really fast on me, so keep that in mind.

The shade 52 Amazed by You is gorgeous dark warm plum purple. I love purple nail polishes, especially with warm undertone and darker nuances. It's perfect for autumnal manicures.

I am positively surprised by the creamy formula and delightful brush. Since I haven't bought Essence nail polish in a really long time this was a nice change in my eyes. They are still not long lasting on me, which is probably the only reason why I avoid them, but at least I have one shade now. The shade is amazing and right up my alley. If you have stronger nails than me then I'm sure you'll love new Essence nail polish formula. They have a huge range of shades. Here are just a few of them, which Tatjana swatched.

Indulging Wine Shades - Collaboration with Tara from The Beauty of Nail Polish

Hey Beauties!

Today's collaboration is inspired by an upcoming Slovenian holiday, which is called Martinovo (on the 11th of November). In our country this is known as a wine celebration day. This is the day when grape juice turns into wine. At this day some may even prepare a feast which consists of goose as main dish.

My family has weekend house and we have a grapevine there. My dad is the one in charge of it and every year we make a few liters of wine for our use. I personally don't drink wine, but I do help with picking the grapes.

In this spirit of trying to bring some of Slovenian culture to my non-Slovenian readers, I paired with Tara from The Beauty of Nail Polish and we prepared a post inspired by wine. I did red wine inspired makeup and she did wine inspired nails. I may not drink wine, but deep red shades are one of my favorites to use in makeup, especially in this season (autumn).

Tara is a fellow Slovenian beauty blogger, which I didn't have a chance to meet in person yet. Her blog will make you fall in love with the latest nail polish shades and inspire you to improve your nail art. She also has a lot of product reviews, so don't let her blog name mislead you. If you don't know her yet, take a stroll down her blog.

I started my eye makeup by using light taupe shade in the crease. I darkened it up with darker taupe grey. I added dark dirty red on the lid as a base.

Then I used shimmery cranberry red and applied it only in the center of the lid to create a bit of light and 3D effect. I used the same shade in the inner corner. Around the lower lash line I used the same light and darker taupe shades. I also added a bit of red. For my liner I tried to make a thicker line in the outer corner and not go all the way in the inner corner of the eye.

I finished with black mascara.

I decided to go for dark red lips as well. Firstly I applied dark red lip liner and went over it with dark red burgundy lipstick to give me some shine.

On my face I used foundation, concealer and powder as always. I used matte light bronzer as well as added some light matte contour shade. For highlighter I used shimmery champagne shade and on my cheeks I used red based peach shade.

I hope I inspired you to include some red in your autumnal makeup. Now head over to Tara's blog to pair this look with some awesome grape nails. It looks so artistic and it's a free hand design made only with nail polishes. Gorgeous right?

She also did a much better job at describing this holiday so go over on her blog and read some interesting history about our holiday ;).

Review: Emma Hardie Dual Action Professional Cleansing Cloths

Hey Beauties!

Cleansing cloth was never a must have for me nor did it never interest me that much. Ever since I got L'Occitane 5% Shea Cleansing Oil, I felt the need to get some good quality cleansing cloths. Oils are easily removed off the face with cloths and you almost get an additional micro peeling with it. After some research and good review on Nadja's blog Memento Mori I decided for Emma Hardie  Dual Action Professional Cleansing Cloths. I believe I got them on sale.

This pack comes with three cleansing cloths. They come in a pretty gold box. Each cloth is individually folded and packed in white paper.

They cost around 20€ (they are on sale now for 15.58€ on feelunique).

Cloth size is around 25 cm x 23 cm. It has a little loop, which means you can hang it. It also has two sides. One side is gentle muslin side, which is usually used to remove products. The other side is smoother microfiber, which can be used for deep pore cleansing, brightening and toning.

Muslin side

Smoother microfiber side

It is machine washable at 40°. Muslin side is made of 100% cotton and microfiber side is 80% polyester and 20% polyamide.

Muslin side is like a super soft towel fabric, which gets even softer when you wet it, whie microfiber side looks like it has two fabrics intertwine. It's soft to the touch, but when you wet it and place it on skin it tingles, because the fabric creates peeling effect.

I have to say if you wash it as it says on it, it doesn't entirely remove all makeup stains. I find that the cloth is never as white as when it was new. Maybe I'll try to wash it at higher degree, but I'm too afraid to ruin it.

Before I got these, I tried to remove my makeup with regular towel, which was just horrible compared to those muslin cloths. I always thought to myself, how could these muslin cloths be better?! It's just a fabric, what can be so great about it?! It turns out the difference is huge. When you wet this it is so soft. It doesn't scratch or rub on your face in any way. It just glides on leaving you with the tinniest bit of exfoliation. Face gets abused so many times, so it's really nice to use something really gentle non abrasive to remove your makeup with. If you're removing your makeup with regular towels, try one of these muslin cloths and you'll never wet a regular towel again.

I don't use this every time I clean my face. I just tend to use it with L'Occitane Cleansing Oil, which I use when I've had makeup on for a long time and I really want to clean my clogged pores or when I have tons of makeup on. This was used a lot this month, because I created a few more artistic makeup looks, which required tons of makeup and glitter. Muslin cloth with oil was the fastest way to get all of the makeup off my face and it was just really gentle.

Other microfiber side is like a micro peeling. You definitely feel it scrubbing against your skin. It feels like a little tingling sensation. The intensity depends on how hard you press it on your skin. After rubbing the face with that side, skin feels very smooth. I guess that can easily replace physical peeling face products.

All in all I'm in love with those cloths and will never ever use a regular towel on my face. I don't think this is a necessity for you, unless you use butter and oily cleansers. Then this is a dream complimentary product to use with those cleansers. It will make your routine easier and quicker.

The Three Wine Fairies - Collaboration with Tatjana (Taya My Little Beauty World) and Vesna (Chunky Cheeks)

Hey Beauties!

I am on fire with collaborations. It's so nice to promote other Slovenian beauty bloggers and share our love of makeup. Today's collaboration is with two of the most inspiring makeup bloggers.

I already did a collaboration with Tatjana from Taya My Little Beauty World. We did Modern twist on a classic makeup look. Tatjana is one of the nicest and positive smiley people. She always inspires me to do more artistic makeup looks. She was on fire this October with multiple Halloween inspired looks. If you don't know her definitely go check out her blog. My favorite of her latest makeup looks has to be Golden Goddess. I also really liked her innovative approach to clown makeup. She has tons of artistic and wearable colorful makeup looks.

A recent discovery and a very talented blogger is Vesna from Chunky Cheeks. I was completely blown away by her skill, when I discovered her blog. She is without a doubt artistic makeup soul and I really encourage you to check out her blog. I stared at her eye makeup that she did in her post Light in the Darkness. It looked like something from a magazine. She also did some amazing Halloween inspired looks, I really liked her Ursula from The Little Mermaid makeup look.

Both of these ladies also do a lot of reviews and other interesting posts, so there's something for every makeup loving soul. Do check them out.

Now onto my contribution to this collaboration. We decided to celebrate our Slovenian holiday called Martinovo, which is today, by creating some fantasy inspired makeup. I already spoke a little about Martinovo and did a wearable wine makeup. It's basically wine day celebration. This day wine reaches its full potential and becomes ready to drink. Traditionally we should also prepare a feast, which consists of goose and some other Slovenian food (mlinci). In my family we don't really celebrate this holiday, although we do make our own wine. I'm sure other two ladies will tell you even more about it, so I won't go too much into details.

We all did wine fairy makeup looks. My fairy is inspired by the time where wine reaches its full potential, grapevine doesn't have any grapes, the leafs are changing colors into gold and some are still green, while there is already young rich red wine ready for tasting. I hope I gave you some idea as to where my inspiration came from.

I started with eye shadow primer and a base flesh toned shade to make other shades blend easier. I used yellow gold in the inner corner of my eye. Bright light green was put next to the yellow one, more towards the center of the lid. In the center of the lid I mixed light green with darker bright green and blend it with previous shades.

Then I used copper toned brown and placed it in the outer V. All the shades are shimmery and fairly light. I used the same shades around the lower lash line. For liner I decided to go with dark brown instead of black, to compliment soft eye shadow shades. I did my usual wing fist. Then I lined my lower lash line and went out with a wing more straight from the outer corner of the eye, instead of going up. I also put upper eyeliner all the way in the very inner corner and tried to make more of a cat V shape in the corner. On the lower lash line I went a bit down when I came to the inner corner. This way I created some space between liner and the actual corner of the eye. Here I mixed gold glitter with lash glue and applied it in between.

Then I applied some false lashes and mascara on bottom and top lashes.

I've come to realize I really lack in colorful liquid liner department, especially for creative looks like that. I had no choice but to use the same cream brown eyeliner and I created some lines around the eyes, also going out from the eye liner itself. My idea was to create something whimsical and to maybe look like grapevine. For in between sparks I used more of that gold glitter mixed in with lash glue and dot it in between the lines with eyeliner brush, which created sparky dots.

On my lips I used two different colors of lip liner. I used dark red to outline my lips and mostly concentrate it around the outer edges of my lips. In the center I used bright light red lip liner. Over it I applied darker burgundy red more towards outer edge and I used mauve purple shade at the center of the lips.

I also used some grapevine leafs and glued them on the side of my face. I used the same lash glue as I did for everything and it worked, although I think you can use some school glue as well.

On my face I did my usual routine: foundation, concealer and powder. I used shimmery orange based bronzer and some contour on the outer edges of my face. For the highlighter I combined champagne and yellow toned shimmer shades to get as much glow as possible but not overdoing it. To compliment my red lips I used red based peach blush.

I can't say I am completely satisfied with my look. I actually wanted to try another one, but everything went wrong, so I just decided to post this one. It's pretty simple, but I hope it still gives you the idea I had in my mind.

Definitely go check out what Tatjana and Vesna did. We all gave ourselves the same theme, but I love the fact that our makeup looks are completely different. Tatjana used rich red and gold shades, which remind me of wine and leafs, while Vesna used purples and blues, which are the shades of grapes. Both look amazing and I thank you both for collaborating with me. I hope there will be more collaborations ;).

Hey Beauties!

This year Christmas came early. Seems so. Essence came out with this Limited Edition called Merry Berry. It was available at the beginning of November and it's still, although it's a very sought for collection so it's probably sold out in most places. For Slovenians wait for it to come to DM, Tuš Drogerija and Beauty World. Might already be available, I can't say.

I have to say I was a bit surprised to see Christmas collection out so early, but I still grabbed a few products, because I couldn't resist cute packaging. It's been a long time since collection sparked so much interested in me.

I couldn't resist cute nail polish packaging. The tops reminded me of Christmas tree decorations plus you know I love everything gold. I got the shade 03 Pink&Perfect. This shade interested me the most, because I found it unique enough to try. It's like a berry pink shade. It's definitely a very wearable shade, which is a nice twist on classic red. It can also easily pass as an autumnal shade.

It costs 1.49€ and you get 8 ml of it.

Size of the cap top is big enough so you can easily hold it during application and it's a stunning decoration for your vanity. Gold writing is just how I like it.

The formula is creamy and pigmented really well, although I always use two coats. One thicker coat would cover the nail as well. The brush is standard and of good quality.

I was most excited about Top Coat. On the promo photos it looked very similar to top coat from one of their previous Limited Editions called Metal Glam and I was right. I googled some photos of Metal Glam and compared them to this one from Merry Berry and it looks exactly the same to me. I was so happy, because I missed out on the other one, so I bought two of these, you know, just in case I loose one?!

It comes in a equality stunning packaging with gold writing, which is really hard to read, because of the gold particles in it. It's called 01 I Love My Golden Pumps

The price for it is 2.19€ (although I got it for 1.99€ in Austria - sneaky sneaky!) and you get also 8 ml of it.

It's a clear nail polish and it contains gold irregular particles. They are just the right size to fit on the nail and give you beautiful sparkly effect. What I really like is the fact that one application gives you a lot of gold particles. I hate when you have to literally scoop for some glitter with other glittery nail polishes. No such problem here.

What more can I say, if you didn't get Metal Glam Top Coat, you need this one. Trust me, it will make every manicure look so much prettier.

I also really looked forward to trying out highlighter powder in the shade 01 I Love My Golden Pumps, because I secretly hoped it would also resemble highlighter from Metal Glam collection, which is to this day the best drugstore highlighter I own. Sadly, it's not the same.

It costs 3.59€ and in it is 9 grams of product.

It comes in transparent plastic packaging typical for Essence. Highlighter has an embossed 3D star design. It's super pretty, but it will come off when you start using it.

It looks very champagne colored in the pan, but once you swatch it, it's more of a light gold shade. It's really light, so great for fair skin tones, which is rare to find (especially gold). It has a very shiny sheen to it and among the pigment you can detect small shimmer, which seems to be multi-colored. It's definitely very pretty.

When I compared it to Essence Metal Glam 01 Gold Digger highlighter, I immediately saw that Metal Glam is slightly more yellow tone and a lot starker/shimmery. It's definitely a lot more metallic and gives you huge shine - very noticeable. It's also a lot more pigmented, because you need less of it to make it seen.

In that aspect Merry Berry is more subtle and would be better for those of you who don't like the shine to be seen from space.

I also compared it to The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, which is very similar to Metal Glam. The shade of it it's darker and even more yellow/orange based. It's like Metal Glam more pigmented and shinier.

The last product is one of those purchases that you buy only for the sake of packaging. It's called Scented Gold Dust Powder in 01 I Love My Golden Pumps. I'm not huge on vintage stuff, but I adore this vintage looking perfume bottle. It's gold (hell yeah!), shiny and has purple knitted mesh atomizer bulb. I wish I had a perfume like this, but I'll make do with this pretty bottle of gold dust.

It costs 3.79€ and it doesn't say how much is in it. It's actually a fairly small bottle, I imagined it bigger.

Design of it is super pretty. Mesh atomizer bulb is dressed into a knitted dark purple pattern. The top has transparent lid which actually falls off, it's just there to put it over, but it doesn't stay on if you move the bottle, which is a bit annoying. Praises for Essence on making such a cute vintage looking packaging on a budget.

You can unscrew the top off and maybe pour perfume into it once it's empty?! I think I'll do this, if I ever use up the gold dust. I actually opened it to get a clearer idea of how the powder looks like. It's very yellow toned loose powder with multi-colored shimmer particle, although on the skin it looks like a very yellow toned gold shimmer. Once you spray it on your skin you'll only see shimmer.

It smells so good! It's like a sweet powdery vanilla scent. Very classic but sophisticated because of the powdery scent. I wish I had a perfume that smelled the same.

I can't say how long lasting the dust is, because I'm afraid to use it. It seems like there isn't a lot in it and I don't want to use it up. Maybe I'll abuse it for some fancier festive occasions.

I am very positively surprised by this Limited Edition. Essence knows how to make visually very pleasing designs which lure you into buying everything from the collection. I like that they made a purple pink inspired Christmas collection instead of typical red, but I would still love to see some red lipstick. Nail polishes are so cute and a really nice gift. Top coat is a must have if you don't have anything similar. Highlighter is for those of you who are fair toned and love some shine but not too much and scented gold dust is a must have vintage vanity piece. Well done Essence!

5 ways of adding sparkle to your manicure (Avon Molten Metal nail polishes)

Hey Beauties!

When Avon sent me their new line of nail polishes called Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal, I knew I'll be doing a bit different post. Instead of just showing you the shades, I wanted to show you ways of how you can add sparkle to your manicure. Sometimes full on glitter nail polish can be overwhelming and looks too much for day to day wear. That's why I'll show you 5 simple ways of adding glittery nail polish to your everyday manicure.

1. Accent nail

You can add sparkly nail polish to just one nail. It's usually ring finger, but you can choose other. You can also apply it on two fingers. It just adds a bit of sparkle and breaks the usual one shade routine.

Here I used Maybelline Colorshow in 465 Brick Shimmer as my base color. Then I added Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal in Graphite to my ring finger.

2. Dots

Very easy way of adding sparkle and not being worried about how you're going to take it off, is to make some dots. Dots are easily created with dotting tool or home made dotting tools - you can use bobby pin, straight pin from sewing kit or toothpick. If you spread your dots in an even pattern the manicure will look super pretty.

As a light blue base I used Models Own Hyper Gel in Powder Blue. I created dots with Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal in Blue Steel

3. Straight Line

Lines are another great way of adding just a bit of sparkle. If you're not skilled at making straight lines or using striper, you can just pull a straight line in the middle of your nail. Line will be as wide as your nail brush. If you want you can put less pressure on it and create thinner lines.

I used Essence Gel Nail Polish in 52 Amazed By You for a purple base. In the middle I drew lines with Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal in Gold

4. Pattern

You can obviously create more intricate patterns. I opted for something dear to my heart - leopard print. It's still an easy pattern and you can't really go wrong with it, but it will take you a bit more time. The end result will also be more impressive.

I used Kiko Nail Lacquer in 322 Caffe Latte as a base. Then I took Maybelline Colorshow in 677 Blackout to make leopard pattern. You can just use toothpick and create opened uneven circles. It's easy. Then I added Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal in Copper in the middle of leopard pattern.

5. Ombre Tips

The last option is to make some pretty ombre tips. This is best done with a little peace of sponge. You take a sponge and concentrate most of the nail polish at the end of nail and then slowly go up, when you have little nail polish left on the sponge. All you need to do is put nail polish on sponge and slowly tap it on the nail and build it up.

I used Maybelline Colorama in 303 for my base. Then I took sponge and and created ombre tips with Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal in Titanium.

Now let's see these beauties up close. I still wanted to show you how the shades look like applied. All of Molten Metal collection is so sparkly and pretty. It's one of those special occasion looks that you wish for, especially in the upcoming festive season. I expected these nail polishes to be metallic, because of the name, but are in fact glittery. I understand the name Molten Metal, because they look like metal in a liquid form with semi-sand finish

The glitter is small and more like shimmer. It's all the same size. I call it semi-sand finish, because with sand finishes there is a lot more grit and texture to it. Molten metals also have a bit of texture, but because the shimmer is very small it's not as gritty as a true sand finish.

As with any other sand finishes, these are also pretty long lasting and hard to take off - because of all the shimmer.

The brush is standard and easy to apply with. Nail polishes are quite liquid and easy to apply. With lighter colors you need two coats or one very thick one. The formula dries quickly

Glass bottle is standard Avon nail polish bottle with black top. Avon nail polishes always come in black paper boxes, which is nice for giving them away as a gift.

Regular price of nail polishes is 5.90€ - but you can currently get them for 3.90€ (Slovenia) and in each nail polish is 10 ml of product.

I am sure you might have thought of Avon Mineral Crush range, which is pretty similar to this one. The difference is that Mineral Crush nail polishes have different sizes of glitter, which are bigger and the texture is more like sand, a lot grittier.

Molten Metal range has 5 shades. They are mostly neutral with one pop of blue.

Gold is a light gold shade with gold and silver shimmer.

Copper is coppery orange with copper, gold and silver shimmer.

Titanium is taupe shade with silver shimmer.

Blue Steel is light blue shade with silver shimmer.

Graphite is dark grey shade with gold, copper/bronze and silver shimmer.

I love a good sparkly nail polish. Those will definitely come handy in the upcoming festive season. They are super sparkly and give that extra glamour to any manicure. I really like all the shades, but my favorite have to be Titanium, Copper and Graphite. What are your favorite shades?

Kot svetlo modro podlago sem uporabila Models Own Hyper Gerl v odtenku Powder Blue. Pike sem ustvarila z Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal v odtenku Blue Steel.

Jaz sem uporabila Essence Gel Nail Polish v odtenku 52 Amazed By You za vijolično podlago. Na sredini sem potegnila eno ravno linijo z Avon Magic Effects Molten Metal v odtenku Gold.

Vzorec

Nato sem z gobico ustvarila ombre konice z Avon Magic Effect Molten Metal v odtenku Titanium.

Bleščice so zelo majhne. Vse so istih velikosti.

Večinoma so dokaj nevtralni z enim barvitim modrim odtenkom.

Gold je svetlo zlat odtenek z zlatimi in srebrnimi bleščicami.

Copper je bakreno oranžen odtenek z bakrenimi, zlatimi in srebrnimi bleščicami.

Titanium je rjavo siv odtenek s srebrnimi bleščicami.

Graphite je temno siv odtenek z zlatimi, bakrenimi/bronz in sivimi bleščicami.

Zelo rada imam dobre bleščeče lake. Ti bodo zagotovo prišli prav v prihajajoči praznični sezoni. So zelo bleščeči in vsaki manikuri dodajo glamur. Zelo všeč so mi vsi odtenki, ampak moji najljubši so Titanium, Copper in Graphite. Kateri so pa vaši najljubši odtenki?

Review: Rexaline Hydra-EyeZone Hyper-Hydrating Rejuvenating Eye Contour

Hey Beauties!

The same company that sent me The Balm products to try out also offered me to try one of Rexaline products. I just recently saw that this brand is also available in Müller, so this review might be helpful to Slovenian readers as well. Because I am in desperate need of a good hydrating eye cream, I wanted to review Rexaline Hydra-EyeZone Hyper-Hydrating Rejuvenating Eye Contour.

It's a rather unusual packaging for eye cream. To me it looks more like a serum packaging. It comes in a shiny silver packaging, which seems to be metal, but has the weight of plastic.

It has a plastic pump which is really nice because you can control the amount you want to come out. You can pump out the smallest amount possible, which means you won't be wasting product. The hole in pump is small.

One thing I really love about this packaging is the fact that you can see how much is still in it. Don't you just hate when you suddenly run out of the product and have no back up?

It contains 15 ml of product and it costs 49.95€. For Slovenians, you can find this brand in Müller: Ljubljana (BTC,Supernova,Čopova), Celje, Maribor and Koper.

It is formulated with Rexaline Complex with 5 times more Fragmented Hyaluronic Acid. Rexaline Complex is enriched with anti-aging botanical ingredients: vitamins and minerals or royal jelly, energizing benefits of ginseng and cooling effect of centella asiatica. It also contains smoothing Gatuline In-Tense and anti-puffiness and anti-wrinkle Actiflow. It's free of parabens.

It's formulated for fragile and sensitive eye area, has no fragrance, texture of a fresh and light gel cream and it's enriched with green pearls for light-reflecting effect. It promises to reduce wrinkles, dark circles and bags in 1 month.

Read more about it here.

I've been using this cream for two months, so I can finally declare my thoughts on it. It really is how it says a nice mix of gel and cream. It has all the aspects of a nourishing thick cream, yet it looks like lightweight gel. It's smooth and feels very creamy

It has a very light green tint to it and if you look closely, it has very small shimmer in it, which looks multi-colored.

I personally love thicker consistency of creams, although I know many don't. It doesn't mean that the cream is more nourishing, if it's thicker, but it's just an idea in my mind. This one goes on really thick, so I prefer to warm it up between my fingers and then slowly tap it into skin. In the beginning it feels sticky, but after a while it absorbs a little (not completely), although it still looks shiny. My guess is that this is due to the small shimmer, which in fact does light up under eye area and makes it look a bit brighter. When you apply it, it feels a bit cooling, but the feeling goes away quickly.

I feel that it is moisturizing and I like to use it underneath makeup, because it keeps concealer more moisturized and not as dry looking, which I don't like under my eye. I like it to be well moisturized.

I don't have much problems with darkness or under eye bags, so I can't really report on this. I will dare to say that I might have noticed that the blueness under my eye is not as prominent as it was before, although I can't say if it's because of this cream or because of the fact that I've been going to sleep at normal hours lately.

I also didn't see any major change in my wrinkles. They are still there and look as deep as they were before.

What I like the most about this cream is thick yet gel like consistency, which I just love smudging around my eye area. It does a good job of moisturizing and it forms greasy layer, which makes it seem well nourished. I also like light reflecting shimmer in it. As far as reducing wrinkles it didn't do much. The packaging is well made and pretty elegant. I think the price is ridiculous for an eye cream. I'll let you decide if you have the budget for it, but all in all it's not a bad cream - just don't expect it to reverse or reduce your wrinkles and keep in mind that it is thicker. If you prefer lightweight well absorbing creams, this is not for you.

Review: Transparent Edge Crisscross False Eyelashes Set (Born Pretty Store)

Hey Beauties!

Past month I've been doing some fun Halloween inspired makeup looks and I always added some false lashes. That's why I like Born Pretty Store false lashes, they are cheap, but work great for such looks. Today I have a review of ones that they've sent me and you've already seen them on my blog.

They're called Transparent Edge Crisscross False Eyelashes Set. The packaging is simple and cheap. They come in a blue plastic packaging with transparent lid. The lid wrinkled on a way to my home, because it's no the most sturdy plastic.

The price is 4.72$ for 5 pairs, which is what, less then a dollar for one pair. You can buy them here.

Usually I go for the natural lashes, but this time I wanted something different. So I chose style that has thicker and thinner alternating hair. It looks more like spidery lashes, which gives you a bit edgier look.

I love the fact that they have transparent band. It's always easier to wear and looks better. I will say that I still struggle with applying false lashes. With most of them the inner corners just decide to stick up and the same is with these. I don't know, it might be my fault, because I don't know how to properly apply them.

The lashes are soft and lightweight. They do look plastic, but not in a bad way.

In spite of being spikier and edgier they look really nice with normal simple eye makeup.

I also used them in my Pretty Leopard Makeup look..

and Fairy of Gold makeup.

If you like playing with different makeup looks, you need cheap good false eyelashes and I really like all of the Born Pretty Store false lashes that I've tried so far.

If you want to get some for yourself, you can use my code PETRAH10 and you'll get 10% off.

Review: Essence All About Roses Eyeshadow Palette (03 Roses)

Hey Beauties!

I got this palette as a gift from lovely Tatjana from Taya My Little Beauty World. I personally never thought much of Essence eye shadow palettes, however this one is amazing. Forget about all their previous palettes, because Essence really stepped up their game with new ones.

Palette comes in a transparent plastic, which I like. It means you can easily see the shades. I have so many black palettes and sometimes spend 5 minutes searching for the right one. It's also fairly sturdy for such packaging.

Inside you get 9.5 grams of product and if I'm not mistaken it costs only 4.39€

This shade of palette is called All About Roses Eyeshadow in 03 Roses. They have four more palettes: Bronze, Nudes, Greys and Vintage.

Roses is a very pretty mauve take on classic taupes and neutrals. It may look very colorful in the palette, but it actually goes on pretty neutral, so I think this is a great way of adding some color without being to vivid or intimidating.

I'll be describing shades form let to right. First the upper row and then the lower row. As you may see the upper row looks shimmery and the lower row looks matte. In the back of the palette it says that the shades have different effects from metallic to matte.

Shade 1: light silver based shimmer nude - good pigmentation.
Shade 2: grey based light mauve shimmery shade - less pigmented.
Shade 3: silver shimmery medium brown - good pigmentation.
Shade 4: dark shimmery purple based brown - good pigmentation.
Shade 5: matte warm nude - good pigmentation.
Shade 6: light shimmery flesh pink - less pigmented.
Shade 7: dirty matte light mauve - good pigmentation.
Shade 8: matte medium taupe brown - good pigmentation.

The texture is somewhere between dry and wet. I find it to be well pigmented in general. The shades go on easily and I don't find there to be fallout with these. Upper row looks very shimmery, but once you take down the top layer, it becomes more of a subtle shimmer. Which means you have shades varying from shimmery to matte. I was genuinely surprised by how pigmented and easy to blend they are. Seriously amazing for such a price.

I would say that this is a mix of warm and cool shades, but for some reason they all look fairly warm on my skin tone. I think this will depend from skin to skin. Easy mauve purple palette for those who don't want bright colors, but want to add some color. If I may say so, it's perfect for dark brown or green eyes.

If you're looking for good quality cheap eyeshadow palette, don't look any further than Essence. I am really impressed and have nothing bad to say apart from the fact that not all the shades are equally amazingly pigmented. You can choose among 5 different shades. There's something for everyone. I am so impressed that I'm thinking of getting Bronze and Nude as well. Vesna from Chunky Cheeks actually already reviewed them here. Have you tried any of the palettes yet?

Review: Foundation Brush (Born Pretty Store)

Hey Beauties!

Another product that I got from Born Pretty Store is this makeup brush, which I call it foundation brush. It seems most appropriate. Ever since I discovered makeup sponges I'm not big on foundation brushes anymore, but I wanted to try this one, because it's thick and short - my favorite type for applying foundation.

This brush has black plastic handle and silver details. Hair is black with white tips, so you see how much product you have on. It's actually well made.

This brush is in style 3 and it costs 5.91$ and you can buy it here. You have four shapes to choose from. I love flat and short foundation brushes, so I went for #3.

The hair is synthetic, short and dense. I like the fact that it's almost flat, but rounded at the edges. It's a nice size and density for applying foundations. I've tried it with lighter foundations and heavier. It works best with more liquid thinner ones. I like doing the tapping motion as I would do with makeup brush and every once in a while I apply it with circular motions to buff it in. Tapping method is perfect, although circular movement can sometimes leave you with stripes as with other foundation brushes, which I don't like.

The hair is pretty soft, but not the softest ever. I've had some scratchy foundation brushes, but this one isn't, although it all depends on the pressure you put on it.

It's also easy to clean with soap and water, but takes a bit longer to dry, as with other synthetic hair.

Not a bad brush. Definitely one of the better ones among cheaper selection, although it's not one I would rave about. So just average. If you need something similar try it. I mostly like it because of the shape and short hair.

You can get 10% of your next Born Pretty Store order, if you use code PETRAH10. Look out for their Black Friday offers, they'll have some good deals.

5 ways of applying liquid eye shadow using Avon Supershock Vivid Liquid Eye Shadows

$

Hey Beauties!

I've never had liquid eye shadows before, so when Avon sent me Avon Supershock Vivid Liquid Eye Shadows, I experimented with them. Today's post is going to be about 5 different ways of applying liquid eye shadow. It's a bit different to work with then for example powders or creams. I'll also show you how all the shades look like.

All over the lid

This is the simplest and most common way of applying it. Liquid eye shadows are very liquid and usually have does foot applicator to apply them. I always use eye shadow primer first. I love Avon Flawless Eyeshadow Primer (review coming soon). Then I starts applying eye shadow all over the mobile lid part and blend it with fluffy brush upwards into the crease. Then I go in again an build it up by applying more shadow in the crease and blending it a bit further up. It just suits my eye shape better. With Avon eye shadows you have to work really fast, because they dry quickly.

I do the same on the bottom lash line. Apply it straight from the applicator and quickly blend it out with fluffy brush. I used 24K Gold shadow.

Combined with powder eye shadow

When I have cooler eye shadows, which don't actually suit my skin tone, I like to take matte powder eye shadow and apply it in the crease first. Then I take cooler liquid eye shadow and apply it only to the mobile part of the lid and blend it into the crease. It gives a it more dimension to your eyes and it's easy way of making shades work for you. I used Electric Emerald shadow.

As a pop of shimmer

Shimmery liquid eye shadows can be used as a little pop of shimmer on top of your regular eye shadow routine. I already did my regular mauve purple eye look. Then I take liquid eye shadow and from applicator apply it on my finger. With a finger a tap it on the lid in the center for a pop of shimmer. I also apply it directly with applicator in the inner corner of my eye and blend it out a little. This gives your regular routine a bit of shine and makes it look more awake and 3D. I used Sparkling Platinum shadow.

Smokey eye

Liquid eye shadows are the easiest to create smokey eyes with. This is especially useful to do with all those liquid eye shadows that are just not pigmented enough. Because smokey eye can look really grungy and worn off and it's still going to be perfect for what it is. The messier the better. So just apply it concentrating more around the lash line and blend it out. Technically this is the same as just applying one color all over the lid, but the trick is to make it darker around the lash line and go lighter outwards. My photo doesn't actually shows it most accurately, but I hope I explained it well. I used Lilac Lightning shadow.

As an eyeliner

Liquid eye shadow can look fantastic as an eyeliner. It's extremely easy to apply as well. You just take the applicator and draw a line as close to the lash line as possible. In the end you can even wing it out. Don't worry if it's not perfect wing. Just take some cosmetic cotton swabs - those are the ones that have a pointed tip on one side - put some makeup remover on it and adjust the wing. Afterwards you can apply conceal to perfect the wing even more. I used Crimson Thrill shadow.

The beauties I worked with are Avon Supershock Vivid Liquid Eye Shadows. Those are my first liquid eye shadows, so I didn't know what to expect. I kept thinking that they are hard to work with, when in fact they're easy once you get a hold of them.

Avon currently offers 7 different shades. Some are warm, some cool toned. You also have lighter shades as well as some darker ones. The four shades on the left side were permanent for a while and now they added three shades on the right. I think they've upgrated formula for the better. It's more pigmented and easier to work with. New shades are all a lot more shimmery.

Eye shadows looks like lip gloss tubes. The tube is made of transparent plastic and offers you to see the actual shade inside. It has black plastic top and doe foot applicator

Texture looks like a genuine liquid once you shake it. When it's not shaken up, liquid separates from pigment. Before you use it you need to shake it. The main ingredient is water. Because it's water based, it will go off your lids, if you apply water to it. I think it's clear by now, they're not waterproof and you should avoid sweating, crying or rain, while you wear them.

Doe foot applicator looks fluffy, like it has longer hair. The hair actually catches most of the pigment, which you can then transfer from the tube to the lid. As soon as the eye shadow touches the lid it dries. It's not messy or liquid, unless you apply too much of it at one place or you don't shake it enough before applying. I find it rather fascinating. It's like a pigment flows in the water and catches on top of applicator, which then transports it to the lid and it dries as soon as it touches the skin.

One swipe gives you a nice color payoff. You can rub it directly onto the lid and get a fairly even application. This actually depends from the shade - some look a bit patchy.

The regular price is 6€ (they are currently 3.50€) and in it is 4 ml.

Pink Party: light pink with silver shimmer - very pigmented and shiny.
Lilac Lightning: dark blue based purple with obvious blue sheen - the least pigmented/patchy.
Crimson Thrill: deep burgundy red with warm plum sheen - good pigmentation.
Electric Emerald: emerald green with green sheen - a bit more pigmented than Lilac Lightning.
Sparkling Platinum: very shimmery silver - very pigmented.
24K Gold: bronzy gold with old warm gold sheen - very pigmentation.
Soft Bronze: bronze with silver shimmer - very pigmented.

I also swatched Soft Bronze next to Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr in 35 On and On Bronze and Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow in 06 Golden Brown. I've come to realize that it doesn't look similar to neither of them - not Kiko and not Maybelline. It's a lot lighter and more copper toned, which is actually right up my alley, because it's warmer than the other two.

Here are also makeup looks with all of those shades. I actually wore them on different days. Some shades, which are cooler toned I paired with warm matte brown powder eye shadow in the crease, to make it more wearable for my skin tone. I hope you'll get the idea as to how these looks like on eyes.

I think Supershock eye shadow are one of those very easy to use shadows. They might be a bit intimidating for beginners and those that don't know how to properly use them. If you shake it well, apply it directly on the lid and use fluffy brush to blend it out, it's actually really easy and quick. The pigmentation is different from shade to shade and it might complicate application, so maybe contemplate which shades you'll buy. Packaging is very easy to carry with and perfect for on the go looks. My personal favorite shades are 24K Gold, Soft Bronze and Crimson Thrill. That's because those are totally my kind of shades. Which did you like?

I also wanted to share this photo of my Romantic Siren makeup look for Halloween. Here I used all of those liquid eye shadows on my eyes at once.

Z aplikatorjem sem senčilo nanesla tudi v notranji kotiček očesa in rahlo zabrisala. Takšen način nanašanja senčila daje očem 3D izgleda in jih naredi bolj spočite in zbujene. Tukaj sem uporabila odtenek Sparkling Platinum.

Zadimljen videz

Senčilo nanašajte čim bližje trepalnicam in zabrišite proti zunanjim kotičkom.

Lepotce s katerimi sem delala so Avon Supershock Vivid tekoča senčila. To so moja prva tekoča senčila in nisem vedela kaj naj pričakujem.

Nekateri so bolj topli, drugi bolj hladni.

Pink Party: svetlo roza odtenek s srebrnimi bleščicami – zelo pigmentiran in sijoč.
Lilac Lightning: temno modro vijoličen odtenek z očitnim modrim sijajem – najmanj pigmentiran.
Crimson Thrill: toplo temno rdeč vijoličen odtenek – dobro pigmentiran.
Electric Emeral: smaragdno zelen odtenke z zelenim sijajem – manlo bolj pigmentiran kot Lilac Lightning.
Sparkling Platinum: zelo bleščičasto srebrn odtenek – zelo pigmentiran.
24K Gold: bronz zlat odtenek z toplim zlatim sijajem – zelo pigmentiran.
Soft Bronze: bronz odtenek s srebrnimi bleščicami – zelo pigmentiran.

Soft Bronze sem primerjala tudi z Maybelline Color Tattoo 24h v odtenku 35 On and On Bronze in Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow v odtenku 06 Golden Brown.

Meni osebno so najljubši odtenki 24K Gold, Soft Bronze in Crimson Thrill. To so seveda odtenki čisto tipični za moj okus.

My fragrance wish list

Hey Beauties!

Going through my Pinterest boards I got the idea to do some wish list posts. I have Pinterest Wish List board here, but I never talk about the products that I want to get. Since the festive giving season is faster approaching, I wanted to present you with some of the products, that I am eyeing. If you're taste is anything like mine, I'm sure you'll find some products that you'll add to your wish list and maybe make decision easier for your loved ones. Today is about fragrances. I love anything sweet, musky, coconut or powdery.

Yves Saint Laurent Manifesto

I got this as a mini tester once and fell in love. I also had Refan version of this and it was great. But since I love collecting perfume bottles, I would love to have original.

Fragrantica describes it as vanilla, balsamic and woody. Base notes of this fragrance are tonka bean, vanilla, sandalwood and cedar. In the middle are jasmine sambac and lily of the valley. On top are green notes, black currant and bergamot.

Base notes are right up my alley, but everything on the top is not typical for me. It's one of those vanilla powdery scents. I find it very sophisticated and refined. It's also not very strong, rather subtle.

Guerlain L'Instant Magic

This is one of those perfumes that you smell in the store, realize you don't have enough money for it and it goes on your wish list as the first thing you'll buy when you get a real job. It will happen, one day.

It's powdery, floral and woody scent. Again it has one of my favorite bases: white musk, cedar, vanilla, almond, sandalwood and iris. In the middle are rose, freesia, violet, carnation and mimosa. On the top you'll find lemon, bergamot and anise.

I can't describe it in any other way as a very sophisticated sweet powdery scent. It just gets better with time and it's like a luxury body cream.

Avon Mesmerize Black

I love this one because of the packaging. I'm not gonna deny it. But when I tried it, I also really liked the smell of it.

It's a woody, white floral and balsamic scent. The base is made of Australian sandalwood, in the middle is jasmine and on top it's mandarin orange. Avon is rather shy with describing all their notes, so you'll just have to do with my description.

I have tester of it. At first is smells very fruity mandarin like and later becomes more stronger deeper, because of the sandalwood. I really like fruity and deep sandalwood combination. Black packaging with gold writing looks so elegant.

They actually have another version coming out in the near future - Avon Mesmerize Blue, which has notes of white peach, pink peony and sandalwood. I have a feeling this one might just as good, but maybe a bit more floral.

Avon Far Away Gold

My mom got this for her and  let's just say I might be stealing hers every now and than. Far Away is the line that attracts me. Their Far Away Exotic was one of my ultimate favorite scents. Whenever I wore this I always got compliments and the staying power was just insane. Unfortunately they've discontinued it. Darn it!

This one is described as vanilla, sweet and yellow flower scent. In it you'll find notes like coconut, amber, ylang-ylang, vanilla, jasmine, orange and peach.

It's one of those classic vanilla sweet scents with a tad of elegance. A bit punchy in a way. I almost think it suits my mom better, because it's more "grown up".

Britney Spears Fantasy Intimated Edition

Britney Spears Fantasy collection is again one of those scents that I'll probably like most of them. I already own Fantasy, Midnight Fantasy and Hidden Fantasy

It's described as musky, vanilla and sweet. Ahhh my favorite words. The base is benzoin, white musk, heliotrope and vanilla. In the middle are brown sugar, ozonic notes, genet, jasmine and lily of the valley. The top notes are violet leaf, Italian lemon and litchi.

I haven't actually tried it in person, so I have no idea how it smells. But brown sugar, vanilla and musk? I think this will be another sweet gourmet scent and I can bet that I would love it. I still haven't seen it in Slovenian stores, although you can find it online.

Beyonce Heat Kissed

Another collection that I already love two scents from. I love the original Heat and Midnight Heat. Beyonce did some other versions in between that didn't really sparke my interest. The latest one is Heat Kissed and I fell in love with it in the store.

It's a tropical, fruity and vanilla scent. The base is made of vanilla, patchouli and sandalwood. In the middle is Morrocan rose, jasmine sambac and orchid. On top is mango, litchi and pitahaya.

It's a very vanilla floral sweet scent. I sprayed it on in the store and it got really vanilla sandalwood like through the day. One of those stronger sweet scents.

Aquolina Gold Sugar

Mateja got me hooked on their Pink Sugar version, but I think it might even be too sweet for my liking. I was browsing through Pinterest and found Gold Sugar version and I want it really bad.

I want it, because it's described as sweet, milky and citrus. The base consists of whipped cream, Australian sandalwood and musk. In the middle is orange blossom, coconut and creme brulee. On top is orange, mandarin orange and neroli.

Again one of the fragrances, I haven't tried in person. Whipped cream, musk, sandalwood, coconut and creme brulee?! Are you kidding me.. I want to eat it and bathe in it. This must be again one of those super sweet gourmet scents and I love anything that smells of good sweet desserts. Sold!

The Body Shop Coconut

Clearly I don't need another coconut scent, since I have Yves Rocher Malaysian Coconut, but this still got on my wish list. You can never have too much coconut, right?!

It's coconut, tropical and sweet scent. The only ingredient that Fragrantica knows of is coconut, so I assume is very similar to Yves Rocher version.

I also haven't tried this in person, but it was just stuck on my wish list, so I included it here. I wouldn't mind having one more coconut scent. Not at all.

If you want to order the perfumes online, I recommend you to check out Fragrance Direct, Feelunique, All Beauty and Look Fantastic

For Slovenian readers you can buy these perfumes at Spletična and Salma.

If you're ever wondering about the notes in your perfume, go to Fragrantica. Their base has every possible scent with description and notes. You can also search for perfumes that have notes that you like. I do this a lot. That's why my wish list is never ending. What are some of perfumes on your wish list? I would love to know, what is you type :).

Review: Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-purpose Dry Oil

Hey Beauties!

This is the one and only skincare product for dry skin and colder months, that you'll need in your life. I was up until recently very uninterested in it. Mateja has been raving about it in multiple posts, but I just couldn't be bothered. Then I finally realized that I have a small tester of it, which I got with some other purchase, and decided to try it. Now, I am almost certain that this will be repurchased again and again.

It's described as a multi-usage dry oil. It's made of six precious plant oils, which are macadamia, hazelnut, borage, sweet almond, camellia and St. John's wort. It should nourish, repair and soften skin and hair. It has a unique dry texture and captivating fragrance.

It is actually made of 97,8% ingredients of natural origin. Here you can also see the ingredients list.

It comes in a classy simple glass bottle with gold top. You can buy 50 or 100 ml of it. I bought 50 ml for 18.37€ on lekarnar.com.

It has small opening through which you can pour out as much as you like. It doesn't just pour all over the bottle, you need to shake it. It actually drips out with little drops, so you can control how many drops you want. I usually use 4 drops for my face and neck.

I have a classic version of the bottle, although they often do limited editions which are not only functional, but pretty collectibles. Mateja also has one of their black versions with gold writing which is super pretty.

I know I usually include swatches, but since this is transparent oil, I doubt you'll see much. Still, you can see that it's very runny and it leaves a shiny layer over the skin.

It looks a bit yellow toned in the bottle, although you see no color on your face. Its dry texture makes it a bit less oily than other natural very potent oils. It's actually lightweight and absorbs into the skin well, although not completely. On my skin it still leaves a bit of that oily layer. It probably depends on how hydrated or dry is your skin.

I usually use it in the evening skin care routine and apply it before I go to sleep, so that I don't rub it all over my bedding. In the morning my skin is so soft and hydrated. I think this is especially good for softening and hydrating dry or dehydrated skin. If you'll be using it in the evening routine, even better. It will absorb through the night and in the morning you'll have plumped soft skin.

I also recommend you to apply it on top of your hydrating tonic and serum. This way you'll lock in all of the hydrating properties of other skin care products. Obviously, this can also be used in other ways. Mix it into your moisturizer, mix it with your foundation, use it on hair for shine or even on your body. To be fair, I only use it on my face and on top of my other skin care products. The price is too high for me to use it on my body.

Saying that, I also want to point out that this oil will last you a really long time. You need the smallest amount possible, so 50 ml is a lot.

It smells amazing. I have no other way to describe it. Some may say that the smell is strong, but I would say it's in between of being strong, but still subtle enough. It smells oriental nutty to me. I am not one that indulges in scented skin care, but this is a treat. Smell of it instantly makes me happy and makes my skin care routine feel like a spa treatment. My boyfriend loved the smell of it on me, when I was using tester version and if he says it smells good, it must be great. You know how men are with skin care and compliments.

I also need to point out that my skin is sensitive and I feel no irritation with this oil, in spite of the scent.

If you're looking for a good face oil for dry skin, look no further. I think the price is still very good for the amount you get, if you use it according to your skin needs. It nourishes the skin and makes it extremely soft. If you feel like you may not need that big amount just for the face, use it on your hair or body. You'll never need to waste this product. This would also be nice to use on shoulders in seasonal parties that are coming. Nuxe also has shimmering version of oil for such occasions, which a lot of fellow bloggers have written reviews of as well.

My Face and Eye Makeup Wish List

Hey Beauties!

Makeup is my most sought for purchase and I love browsing through makeup stores. I am one of those people that admires certain products, but I won't purchase a lot of them, because let's face it, I have a lot of makeup as it is. Today I'll be sharing some products that I won't buy myself, but would like to get or are too expensive for my current budget. If you love makeup as much as I do and you have similar taste, I might give you some ideas for your next purchases. Here is my first section of makeup wish list and it's eye and face products.

Stila Eyes Are The Window Shadow Palette - Soul

This is a very basic neutral eye shadow palette. The price makes it unreachable for me at the moment, but it's one of those rare palettes that I think I would love. The quality is supposed to be amazing and the packaging is just stunning with gold metal lid. As much as I love colors on my eyes, I wish to have at least one good quality neutral palette.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow - Light to Medium

Who doesn't want to get Charlotte Tilbury makeup? Any true makeup lover is lusting or buying it. I would say get me her whole range, if you have too much money, but I really really wish for that bronzer and highlighter duo. Charlotte is known for being the creative mind behind all makeup industry leading brands and you can count on her for making good quality products. Bronzer and highlighter is one of my very loved products and I'm sure that her version is mind blowing. The packaging is again high end and stunning.

MAC Pigment - Vanilla

Mateja got me tester of this and I love it so much, that it's sitting in my drawer, because I'm afraid to use it. It's super pretty pink gold duo chrome pigment, which a lot of makeup enthusiasts use as a highlighter. I would do the exact same thing. It's just such a unique shade and it's still very light for all your fair toned ladies.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Limited Edition

If you're a highlighter lover, you already know about Hourglass ambient lighting powders. It's probably one of the most popular and pretty holiday limited editions of this year. In one palette you get everything - powder, highlighter, blush and bronzer, all with illuminating properties. Again one of those high end products with stunning design and also pretty collectible product. I'll probably never get it, but I am allowed to dream, right?!

E.l.f. Shimmering Facial Whip - Golden Peach

I would use this as a cream blush. It has a very pretty golden peach shade to it and it can be used in multiple ways. On darker skins this might even be used as a highlighter. I just think the shades is super pretty and I love the glowy effect to it.

The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder - 02 Fair Matte

I first say this at Sara's and fell in love with it. I love the packaging and I really like the fair matte shade. It also has honeycomb embossed design. It's hard to find light bronzer with warm undertone. In general, it is pretty hard to find good, but still light matte bronzers, so I need this in my life.

Kiko Radiant Fusion Baked Powder - 01 Ivory

I like everything that Kiko does. Seriously. I think there's nothing that I don't like about this brand. Well there is one thing.. they still don't have a shop in Slovenia, why?! I would go nuts in there. I want this powder, because for some reason it reminds me of Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders. In description it says that it's a mineral baked powder with luminous finish. Sounds familiar right? Either way, it can't be bad.

Mememe Beat The Blues - Oyster Gold

If I can't have Benefit Sun Beam, I'll do with this one. You know I love highlighters and you knew they'll be in this wish list. I don't really have a liquid one yet and I really like champagne gold shade of this one, although I'm not sure if it would be too dark for my skin tone. The price is also not bad, at all.

La Roche-Posay Respectissime Volume Mascara

I've had their Lenght and Curl version and it was one of the best mascaras I've ever tried. Naturally, I would love to try their Volumizing version, but the price is out of my budget. It's also really hard to get a hold of their mascara's in our country. We don't even have a lot of them, while on their official site they have around 10 versions.

Makeup Geek Duochrome Eyeshadow Pan - Ritzy

Makeup Geek is another one of those affordable and good quality products that are hard to get. By that I mean that the shipping is too high and you we don't have a store nearby to even look at the eye shadows up close. I would probably get a lot of their eye shadows, but there are two shades in particular, that I would like to try out first. Ritzy is warm red brown with a gold and green sheen. It's one of those really interesting mix of shades.

Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadow Pan - Flame Thrower

Flame Thrower couldn't be more typical me kind of shade. It's a true warm copper with foiled finish, which to me looks like a shimmery metallic shade.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - Fair

One of those products that is always talked about being great and that everyone owns except me. I don't have any particular explanation why I want it, I'm just a little curious, if it's really that great. It'a really hard to get a hold of in our country.

E.l.f. Contouring Blush and Bronzing Cream - St. Lucia

I have powder version and I really liked the bronzer shade and the fact that it's a little shimmery. Not that I'm a fan of cream products, but I would really like to try the cream version, since I like both shades and could give me an amazing natural look. E.l.f. products are also really affordable for anyone that's experimenting with different finishes and shades.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Opal Glow On The Go

Of course I am finishing this category with yet another highlighter, rather two of them. If there's one highlighter that I wish for the most, it's Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in shade Opal. In this travel size set you get powder and cream version. Opal is a very popular champagne gold shade. It's so pretty and I am seriously contemplating on buying this as a birthday gift from me to me. I just hope that they'll still have it by then.

I know, I am so humble, right?! A girl can dream. As you can see, I like a lot of different products. Some are really cheap and some are way out of my budget. I think you can find great products for different prices. Did I get your eyes to sparkle? What are some of the products that I mentioned and are also on your wish list?

Review: Metallic Face Brushes (Powder, Blush and Contour)

Hey Beauties!

A while ago I was browsing through Ebay, because I was searching for some eye brushes that I already bought. I came upon these rose gold and gold metallic looking brushes. Of course my initial thought was Real Techniques Bold Metals dupes. If you compare them, the shapes do look very similar. Of course, I decided to buy three of them.

The brushes have different prices. Powder brush is around 2.50€, blush brush 2.30€ and contour brush 2.40€. I bought it here.

Real Techniques brushes have weighted handles. I am not sure if they are also actually made out of metal or not.

Ebay version has the same shades as originals. Powder brush is gold and contour and blush brush are rose gold. All of these look metallic, but are in fact plastic. They are heavier in the front, where there are bristles, so I am not sure if that means that they are weighted. It might just be the fact that at the end brush is thinner and therefor lighter there.

The bristles are synthetic and white at the tips. Towards the handle bristles correspond handle colors. So rose gold brushes have pink bristles and gold brush has yellow bristles. The white bristles are suppose to make it easier for you to see how much product you have on.

Bristles are all very soft. I would say that those are definitely one of the softest brushes that I own. The quality is mind blowing compared to the price.

Powder brush has a dome shape. Bristles are very soft and it's sort of a regular powder brush size. I think the size is just perfect for my face. You can also fit it under the eyes. It picks up the product nicely and feels super soft on the face. You can also use it as a bronzer brush.

Blush brush is fairly small, compared to some of my other blush brushes. It has tapered really soft bristles and they are fairly dense. A lot denser than powder brush. This means you can really pack on the brush. Because the bristles are soft, you can also create a softer look. This brush could also be used as a powder, highlighter or contour brush. It's small enough to be used in all smaller precise areas.

Contour brush is very interesting. It has a flat shape of bristles. The bristles are definitely the most dense out of all other brushes. It's really packed. This way you can create some serious contour. You can also use it as a highlighter brush. It still helps to blend the line, if you use ti lightly, so you don't have a straight line on your cheeks. It's also small enough that it fits nicely under the cheek bone area.

I think those are one of the best brushes that I ever bought on Ebay. It doesn't even matter if they tried to make dupes or not. The bristles are extremely soft and they don't shed, when I'm washing them. I think the handles are well made and super pretty with the shiny metallic finish. I can't say nothing bad about them and the price is ridiculous. If you're a makeup brush hoarder like me, you need to get these. I might even get some other eye brushes next.

Whimsical Wintery Makeup

Hey Beauties!

Did you see Katy Perry in H&M commercial? I thought her eye makeup looked so pretty. After that I saw Nikki Tutorials do inspired makeup by her fairy look in commercial and I had to do my take on it. I call it a whimsical wintery makeup.

I started with applying skin like shade all over the lid. Then I did my usual crease with matte brown shade. I used a mixture of light pink and gold in the inner corner of my eye.

In the inner part of the lid I applied a mixture of pink shades. On the other side, outer corner of the lid, I applied a mixture of purple shades. Center of the lid was filled with light blue shade.

To intensify light colors, I used metallic liquid eye shadow and went over blue with silver blue metallic shade and over pink with pink metallic shade to add even more glitter and sheen to it. On the bottom I used the same matte brown shade that I used in the crease and I applied mixture of purples to the outer edge to connect with upper lid. To ground pastel shades, I decided to use black liquid liner. I applied it in elongated way, going thinner in the inner corner and coming to a thicker on the outside corner.

I applied black mascara and decided to skip false lashes, because I wanted it to be colorful, yet very wearable.

I applied high coverage foundation and concealed where it was needed. Then I apply a bit of powder. I contoured with a contouring shade and applied shiny gold highlighter. I also very lightly applied pink blush.

On my lips I used a mix of pink and purple lip crayon. I applied pink all over the lips and then I tried to darken the edges a bit with purple. Oh and I had to show you my matching purple-ish nails.

This is my way of adding a bit of light color to a very wearable makeup look. I think this could be even nice for Christmas parties for those of you, who don't like to go all out. It definitely has a more whimsical wintery feel to it and I like how the shades blended together.
