Review: Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Ingot Highlighter

Makeup Revolution is one of those brands that makes releases more often than I cut my hair. It seems like every week there is something new coming from them. I've had the chance to try out one of their highlighters and I have to say, it's really nice. They seem to be constantly upgrading their quality.

Packaging

It comes in plastic packaging with transparent lid. It's a bit flimsy, so I wouldn't dare to travel with it. In it is 12 grams of product (which is a lot!) and it costs 6.99€. You can get it on Ličila.si or Revolution Beauty London

Formula

To the touch it feels wet and almost creamy. This makes it almost a bit difficult to swatch, but it deposits color well on the brush. Pigmentation is good. You almost can't apply it very sheer, but you can definitely build it up to look very opaque.

Colors

In this range you can choose among 3 shades - Platinum, Rose Gold and Gold.

Rose Gold is champagne pink base with strong silver sheen. Shimmer is fairly small and because it's silver it reflects light very well. Silver based sheen usually gives you that wet look that looks very strong.

It swatches darker than it looks when it's applied with a fluffy brush. With a brush you get more of that silver pearl on the skin and less of that strong pink base. Still, it's more for that light to medium skin tone. On fair or very light skin this will look too dark. I can make it work on my skin tone, if I apply it lightly.

Performance

I find it to last very well on the skin. It's still on my face at the end of the day, although it might fade a bit. But in general it has good lasting power. It never looks patchy or uneven.

Lighter application

Heavier application

This is one of those highly reflective highlighters that you'll love, if you want your glow to be intense. It has that rose gold undertone that will look especially nice on medium skin tones. Formula is wetter and it applies nice, plus it lasts well. I prefer more champagne shades, but I'll definitely pair this one with more pink toned looks.

Usually, my new in posts are full of makeup products, but this time I have a lot of skin care, body care and hair care. I also made a few repurchases of my favorite products that I've ran out of. I also wrote short reviews for some new products that I have tried out.

Balea Duschgel After Sun

I've only tried this once, but I go it, because I hear it's good at washing off sunscreen. The cooling effect that they promise, I did not notice. It has exactly the same scent than their After Sun Shampoo, which I get every year when I go to seaside, because it's the best at cleaning hair and making them soft. Scent reminds me of vanilla and vanilla baked goods. It's nice. It also leathers well and is just that typical gel texture wash gel.

Balea Erfrischendes Wash Gel Mit Aloe Vera

Bale has revamped their face wash gel. I've had the old version already. It's that basic gel type wash gel that I use as my second cleanse. They've changed the one thing that was bothering most of us using it, the scent. It doesn't have that manly scent anymore. I find it to be almost trying to be no scent at all, but to me it gets a bit of that herbal aloe vera vibe, but very subtle. There have also been slight changes in the ingredients list, but nothing major. If you're looking for a good basic wash gel to clean your face in the morning or use as a second cleanse in the evening, look no further. Plus, it's very affordable.

Secret Key Aloe Soothing Moist Toner

This is a very basic hydrating toner, but it's what I have been lacking in my routine. Usually, I have a lot of BHA and AHA toners, but nothing basic. It's mild and can be used on most skin types, even oily skin. The only problematic thing about it could be fragrance, because it has that herbal sweet scent to it. It doesn't bother my skin at all. It's liquid, light, but feels moisturizing and hydrating. I use it in the morning skin care or evening, depending on what my skin needs. You also get a huge amount of it which is always a plus.

Mizon Multi Function Formula All In One Snail Repair Cream

I'm hearing a lot about snail based products being so good for your skin, so I wanted to try one in a cream form. This is almost gel and cream hybrid with that typical slimy texture. It quickly absorbs into the skin and feels like nothing. I feel like this would be great for combination and oily skin types, because it almost gives you matte finish on the skin. It still feels hydrating and nourishing, but isn't emollient at all. This is the perfect moisturizer for summer. It has very natural almost no scent to it.

Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream

I've repurchased this one. It's a very lightweight, again cream/gel type of consistency that applies like a dream, soaks in fast and moisturizes well. I feel like these lighter consistencies are exactly what I need this summer. Plus I like the tube packaging, it makes it really easy to use.

Skin79 Super Beblesh Balm B.B. Triple Function Orange

I've been searching for olive toned BB creams and this one was recommended, so I got a tester size. It has light warm yellow color with a tint of olive undertone. It's almost the perfect match for my skin tone, but it appears to be more greyish on me than my natural skin color. It has a dewy satin finish that doesn't look greasy, but it gives that gloss like look to your skin. A bit too much sheen for my liking, I prefer something more velvet or semi matte. It doesn't get into pores, but it also doesn't particularly blurs them. One coat will even out skin tone and slightly cover blemishes as well. My problem with it is that it doesn't look skin like. You can see it on the skin being obvious. In this day of age, that's a no no for me. Plus the dewiness gets even more pronounced as my natural sebum comes out. It also wore off oddly unevenly, so I won't be buying a full version.

A repurchase, because I can't be without this. This time I got a regular version, although I've also had fragrance free version before. I use this as my lip balm to keep my lips nourished and moisturized.

Another repurchase. This is my favorite nail treatment. I have naturally thin nails prone to chipping and when I use this as a base coat, my nails grow longer and they don't chip as much either. I've raved about this a lot and always recommend it to anyone with weak nails.

Dermacol Make-up Cover - 210

This is known for being one of the most high coverage foundations and I realized they sell it on Salma, so I ordered small tester. It turns out I shouldn't buy foundations online, because I chose the wrong shade. 210 is too dark for me plus it seems to have rose undertone. I haven't tried it yet, but it feels a bit greasy, very mask like and has odd scent. I don't think this will be in my favorites.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

This is one of the most raved about setting sprays. I needed something to lock in the makeup when I do it on others and this seems to do the trick. It has super fine mist that you almost can't feel on your face. The scent is odd, I can't describe it. Almost like old water, but it doesn't bother me too much. However, this works. It sets your makeup so well and makes it wear for much longer without any smudging or fading. If you need something to last you through a special occasion, this is it. I use it very sparingly, because it's expensive.

Avon Mark Epic Intense Eyeshadow Mini Palette - Color Crush*

Color Crush is one of the more colorful eyeshadow palettes in Avon's Epic line. Pigmentation might be the best out of the palettes that I have tried so far. All the shades look very vibrant on the eyes. I will have a separate review with the swatches. You can also see the review and swatches of other three versions that I've already tried - here.

Avon Mark The Big Intense Kohls*

Avon also sent me their kohls which they've had in the range for a while and I actually have review of it, but they are now under Mark brand and they've also added two new shades. These are creamy kohls that are great for smudging out and offer fun colorful options instead of just boring black.

Avon Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Chrome and Mermaid Finishes*

One of these has a holographic finish which is named under mermaid collection and others are from their chrome collection. All of these have a thinner formula that you'll need at least two coats to cover the nail. Shade selection is interesting and I like the shine that they give to the nails. In general, their Gel Shine range is my favorite from Avon.

Colourpop In-Nude-Endo Pressed Powder Highlighter, Pressed Powder Shadow - 143 and Ultra Glossy Lip - On Board

Highlighter palette is actually darker than I though it would be. I've only been trying out the lightest shade and it's glorious. This is one of those formulas that gives you amazing glow, but no visible chunks of glitter or being too metallic and opaque. It's superb like most of their products. Pressed shadow in 143 is the most gorgeous warm purple that will look just stunning on brown eye color. Formula is very pigmented and blends with ease. I also couldn't resist getting one of their new lip glosses. On Board is caramel brown with lots of multi colored shimmer. It gives you that incredible high gloss shine that just looks so juicy and smells so amazing - like fudge.

Apparently, this is one of my new favorite nudes. It has a bit of warm tone to it that matches so well with my skin tone. I have worn it on my hands as well as toe nails and it looks gorgeous. Formula is thicker, creamy and has a nice wider brush that makes it apply so easily.

Catrice Prime And Fine Smoothing Refiner

Catrice is discontinuing this product and I'm not sure why. I just got it and started using it. It's that typical silicon smooth base that fills in the pores well and can even prevent a bit of that sebum coming through too soon. I like it. Maybe they'll just repackage it into tube version which I saw are coming to their stand.

Garnier Fructis Pracht Boost Shampoo

I believe this is called Garnier Fructis Full & Luscious Thickening Shampoo and it's meant for thin hair. I ran out of my favorite hair products by Joico, so I am discovering drugstore versions now. I'm a bit underwhelmed so far. I bought this one instead of L'Oreal Fibralogy version and it's ok, but I don't see it giving me any major volume. It cleans the hair well and makes it smell fresh fruity, but I feel like L'Oreal version made my hair thicker. Although this also gives me a bit of that grip, but not enough. If you have any good recommendations for drugstore shampoos for thinner hair, I'd love to hear.

Balea Trocken Shampoo - Tropical Coconut

I was recommended this dry shampoo by a friend who loves it and since I'm so stuck on Batiste, I decided to give it a go. It's not bad. It will spray out that white powder which you can brush out and it actually makes my hair look less greasy plus gives them volume. I only tried it once, so this is a first impression. These come in two versions Tropical Coconut and Sweet Melon. Tropical Coconut has more of that sour fruity tropical scent, coconut is so faint I almost don't detect it. It's like a super sweet pine apple hard candy and it's a bit too artificial for my liking.

Schauma Repair & Pflege Spülung Conditioner

In the store this looked like a slightly thicker conditioner, but it disappointed me at home. I feel like this does almost nothing. As soon as I apply it on wet hair, it just drips off like there's nothing on. Drives me crazy. I love those thicker conditioners that grab on your hair and stay there. That's why I feel like this isn't much nourishing, it just makes my hair a bit smoother so that I can comb them through. It has more of a woody coconut scent, slightly deeper and not as coconuty as I would like, but it's better than most coconut scents.

Balea Icy Berry Body Peeling

I've already feature it in my favorites. It has the most amazing raspberry candy flavor. Super sweet and whenever I use it, I crave that candy. It has rough sugar particles in an oily base. I like that it's fairly strong peeling and it leaves behind nourishing oily layer once you wash it off. So you can skip body moisturizer. It comes in this small 100 ml packaging. I would have like this to be in a much bigger tube or pot, because it's really nice.

Nivea Soft Mix Me Moisturizing Cream - I Am The Happy Exotic One, Chilled Oasis One and Berry Charming One*

Nivea's Soft cream just got an update in three fun scented versions. Apparently this is their universal soft cream that now has different scents which you can mix and match to get a unique fragrance with your moisturization. Berry has a more floral fruity sweet scent, Oasis is fresh herbal with a hint of sweet green tea and Exotic is like pina colada - mix of pineapple and coconut. I love all three scents, although my favorite has to be Exotic followed by Oasis. It's a fun concept and would make a cute gift for all Nivea lovers.

Nivea Magic Pearl Anti-transpirant*

I've raved about this in my favorites as well. It has quickly become my new favorite antiperspirant. This doesn't contain alcohol. I don't notice it leaving white residue on my clothes although it is lightly milky colored. It doesn't feel irritating on the skin at all. Scent is floral powdery and it lasts well on my skin. I feel like it prevents me from sweating too soon and it definitely prevents odd odor. I use it every day since I got it and I will probably repurchase it, because I really like it. Plus how cute is the limited edition packaging?!

Labello Soft Rose #PINKPOWER LE*

Labello has come out with limited edition packaging lip balms. I got both versions, but have only opened one, because I rarely use tinted lip balms. Their regular versions Soft Rose and Pearly Shine come in LE packaging. Soft Rose is available in five versions: #girlboss, #pinkprincess, #pinkrules, #pink4ever and #pinkpower. Pearly Shine is available in fun designs of ice cream, cupcakes, lollipops, candy and smoothies. I got #pinkpower with the words #gogirl (it's what I often times say to my friends) and pearl version with candy design. #pinkpower is that typical lightly rose colored lip balm. It's not too thick nor sticky. On the lips it leaves a light rose tint and it has powdery vanilla scent which reminds me of cupcakes and my childhood when we all used these. Very fun limited edition design for all Labello lovers.

I said I wouldn't repurchase this, but I did. To be fair, it was 40% off. This is very nice at creating super bushy volumizing lashes. The formul itself is great, but contains so little product at a ridiculous price tag.

This is my favorite top coat nail polish of all time and I always repurchase it. It dries your nail color super fast, doesn't smudge the design or color underneath and gives your nails amazing shine. The only downside, it starts to get thicker when you use up about half of the bottle, so it can also shrink your nail polish underneath. Just make sure to apply plenty of it while it still has liquid formula.

Another repurchase of my favorite Korean sunscreen. It's lightweight, absorbs well, smells citrusy and leaves a velvet finish great for applying makeup over it. I use this on daily basis when I don't spend much time outside. It's a chemical sunscreen.

Balea Duschöl

I bought this shower oil, because Mateja said she uses similar product by Aveo to wash her hands with. Instead, I poured this in my Balea Med Hand Wash to dilute it and add that oiliness to it in hopes of my hands not feeling as dry. I think it works, although it would be better to use this on its own, but I just can't. I feel like my hands are not going to be clean. I'm a freak when it comes to cleaning hands. It has weird plastic baby scent that I don't like, but mixed with that hand wash, I don't notice it that much.

I already posted about The Body Shop products, so I won't go into details. I really liked the texture od body butter, loved the color and design of bronzer and like the color of lip juicer. Body butter and bronzer are the stand outs here.

I also wrote about first beauty box by Avon and even gave one away in a giveaway. It's a fun concept that I haven't tried from any other brand before. Most of these products are really nice and work great, but there are some that I would replace with others, because Avon has so many amazing products.

Avon Summer Beauty Box*

I also received their summer beauty box and I'll do a separate post for it. For me personally, it's even better than the first one. Products are more versatile and it's not just about makeup.

Avon Summer Beauty Box

Avon has another beauty box and it's a summer edition. I was a bit more excited to try this one, because it has large spectrum of different products in it not just makeup. It comes in a summery sleeve which you take off and see purple ribbon design with A on it. It has magnetic closing and will be nice to reuse.

In it you get 5 full size product, 2 travel versions and one tester. I believe total worth of this box is around 53€ and it sells for 26.90€. This is for Slovenia, I can't say if in other countries this is also on offer.

Avonovo poletno lepotno škatlico lahko naročite pri Avon prodajalcih za 26.90€ do 25. julija 2018.

I've had this micellar water in the past and wasn't impressed with it. To be honest, for me nothing beats Bioderma Sensibio H2O. I haven't found anything as gentle as that one.

You'll get a travel size of 50 ml in a cute plastic bottle that I know I'll reuse as soon as I finish it. Great to take with you on that getaway weekend. Mini size sells for 3€. Full size contains 200 ml and the regular price is 6.10€.

It has regular transparent liquid formula that has some sort of artificial scent to it. It's not strong, but I can't say it's pleasant either.

It's great for taking of face makeup, but you'll need to rub a bit more to take off mascara, especially waterproof ones. I'd say it's average in removing abilities and would not be for waterproof makeup users. I remember this being more irritating on my skin, but now I didn't notice my skin getting red. However, if this gets into the eyes, it will sting. So I personally wouldn't use this for eye makeup, rather just for taking off that first layer of makeup.

It's an average micellar water and I wouldn't buy it again, because it's not as gentle as I want it. However, this mini size is nice for taking with you on holiday or for having in purse to wipe off swatches that you took in the store.

Avon Anew Perfect Skin Daily Skin Boosting Splash

I am a bit confused as to what this product is. Avon describes it as 15 minute moisturizing and brightening innovative mask. It should be a base to your moisturizer, make your skin moisturized, energizes, your pores look smaller, skin feel smoother and just look perfect. They advise you to apply small amount of the product on your hands and gently massage it into cleaned skin. Let it dry and then apply your moisturizer on top. I feel like this is just a moisturizing toner that they're describing and trying to make it more innovative than what it is.

After I tried it out, I would almost say that this is an essence. It's liquid as a toner, but has a bit of viscose feel to it when you apply it. It sticks well to the skin and leaves behind slightly tacky feeling which makes me feel like it's more than just a hydrating toner

It feels moisturizing as well as a bit nourishing, but is very lightweight. A product that will give you that initial burst of moisture back to your skin after cleansing it. It also has fruity scent to it which reminds me of white grapes for some reason. Obviously, I would need to use it more to see how it works, but that first impression is good. It would be a nice added step to your simplistic summer routine, because it's fairly lightweight.

Avon Mark Big & Daring Volume Mascara Waterproof Black

This is a mascara for adding volume and apparently the formula contains collagen which should strengthen the lashes without making them look clumpy. It also has curved wand to hug the lashes and make your lashes look six times more volumized

Avon has repacked their mascaras and I like new packaging better. You can quickly see which mascara is which. This one comes in pink color with white writing. In it is 10 ml of product and the regular price is 10.90€.

It comes in black and brown black color.Black color is also available in wateproof version which is what I have.

Wand is actually quite big, a bit too much for my liking. Bigger wands can be difficult to navigate around smaller and deep set eyes. It's curved and has longer bristles in the middle and shorter on the outer edges to give you that rounded eye look

Formula is on the drier side, but isn't as dry as regular wateproof mascaras that I have tried so far. I prefer a slightly wetter formula, because it doesn't make my lashes super hard and builds up volume quicker.

One coat of this mascara gives you nice definition and length. Second coat will add more of that volume, but still keep them nicely defined. Third coat makes my lashes look very thick and I may loose some definition, but it's definitely not as clumpy as some other mascaras I have tried. I prefer two thicker coats for that perfect volume with good definition and definitely some added length. I think this is great lengthening and thickening mascara without giving you too clumpy look.

It lasts really well on the lashes. I haven't notice any smudging or crumbling under the eyes. I haven't tested the wateproof claim, because I don't really shower or go swimming with a mascara, so I can't say, but it will hold up against the sweat for sure.

Avon Mark Glow On Face Illuminator

This is basically a glowy primer or liquid highlighter in one. Avon says that this could be used on its own for an illuminated look, as a radiance primer or over makeup as highlighter. Supposedly it has lightweight texture, iridescent light gold color, gives luminous glow and is glitter free. It should perfect, moisturize, blur imperfections and add natural looking radiance

It comes in plastic black and white squeeze tube. In it is 30 ml of product and the regular price is 10€

It has thicker liquid consistency that has a smooth glide to it so that you can spread it out with ease. It has fairy good pigmentation - definitely not as sheer as most illuminating primers.

You can get it only in one color which is more of a lighter champagne nude shade that has peachy tint to it, but more of a cooler silver sheen. Pearly finish gives it that nice sheen on the skin, but the shimmer in it is tiny. For my light skin tone this is a bit too dark to be used as a highlighter. It's more for light to medium and medium skin tones. If you're fair, this will definitely be too dark for you.

I've used this mixed in with foundation which is something that I love doing especially in the summer. It just gives you that slight sheen as well as color to the base. I also used it as a highlighter on top of foundation, but for that it was too dark for me now, it will probably work once I get some tan. I also used it as a base for powder highlighter and it worked nice. It didn't make product on top look patchy.

Left: no illuminator, right: illuminator as highlighter

But right now I absolutely love to use this on my body as a body highlighter. It gives me just enough of that champagne bronze sheen and doesn't look too glittery, but reflect small shimmer particles so nice under the sunlight.

illuminator in shade

illuminator on direct sunlight

It has quick setting time, so you have to work with it fast and blend it out nicely before it drys down. Once it's on, it doesn't really transfer and almost feels powdery to the touch.

I really like this product, obviously. I like most illuminating and glowy products. But this is refined in that it doesn't contain any visible shimmer, has a good peachy champagne base for medium skin tones and gives off that nice cooler silver sheen. It also sets really well which is always a plus with liquid products. It's definitely one of my favorite products from this box, I just wish they made a lighter version for paler skin tones so that I could use it as highlighter.

I have a review of all Gel Shine nail polishes already and it's one of my favorite nail polish ranges. This is a big range of colors and they often times add some new ones as the seasons change. It offers gel like shine and good color payoff.

It comes in glass square bottle with white plastic top. Brush is standard, slightly longer and straight cut. In it is 10 ml of product and the regular price is 6.50€

Formula is creamy and just thick enough as well as not too runny. I find it easy to work with. This shade has good pigmentation, but to get nail completely covered, I would use two coats

Parfait Pink is medium pink with tiny silver shimmer which gives the nails a bit of sheen.

I find gel shine range to be fairly long lasting on my nails, for about 4 to 5 days. It also dries down fast.

Avon Care Sun+ Moisturizing Sun Spray Very Water Resistant SPF 15

It's a sunscreen with SPF 15. Usually, I use SPF 20 and 30 on my body, when I am spending the day out. But I can use this one while going out on those not so sunny days or in the evening and mornings. Avon describes it as moisturizing and water resistant

It comes in a plastic yellow bottlewith spray on top. In it is 150 ml of product and the regular price is 9€.

It has white liquid milk consistency which has nice spread ability. It massages into skin well and doesn't leave white cast. Finish is a bit sheeny, but doesn't look or feel greasy. It is a bit tacky though.

I dislike the scent of it, because it smells grass floral. Too green for my taste. I remember Avon sunscreens smelling better than this.

I've only used it a couple of times and I didn't have any problems with it. It feels moisturizing, doesn't feel greasy or too sticky and in general leaves a nice sheen on the skin

Avon Advance Techniques Daily Shine Dry Ends Serum

I've had this product too and wasn't impressed with it. At the time I preferred their Moroccan Argan Oil version, but now that I gave it another go, it doesn't seem as bad anymore. I think my hair was a lot drier before and now that I only color my roots, I have healthier and less dry hair, so I don't need as much of a heavy duty products as I did before. It's a silicon type of serum that gives your hair nice shine and makes the ends look more nourished.

It comes in transparent glass bottle with a pump. In it is 30 ml of product and the regular price is 6.90€.

I like the pump on this, because you can control how much product you want. Usually, I won't even use a whole pump, because I just want this on the ends.

It has transparent viscose slightly oily, but mostly just very smooth silicon consistency. It coats your hair and gives them that shine as well as much more polished look to the ends. I wouldn't go crazy with this, if you have thin and just slightly dry hair, use half to one pump. Too much of this serum can make your hair look greasy

I love using these type of serums on wet hair and then blow drying it for that super shiny smooth feel to the hair. Sometimes I also put it over blow dried hair to make the ends look more polishes and not as frizzy. It's much more lightweight than the argan oil version, so better for those with thinner or not as dry hair.

Scent is fruity sort of green apple like

Avon Attraction Eau de Parfum

I have Attraction Rush version and it's probably one of my favorite perfumes of all time. I actually used more than half of it already, which almost never happens with me and perfumes, so now I'm already in saving mode. I'm weird like that. Obviously, I was excited to try out the original version as well.

This is a travel size version, it contains 30 ml. Sometimes Avon sells these mini versions at special occasions and I think the price was around 7€, but I'm not sure. You get the same fragrance in smaller size and with a much more simple bottle design. It has glass bottle with simple gold and silver design.

The original full size comes in 50 ml and the regular price is 32€.

Top notes: pear, blackberry, pink pepper.
Middle notes: jasmine, black orchid, musk.
Base notes: amber, Madagascar vanilla, praline, labdanum.

At first I smell a lot of pear and frutiness which quickly turns into a slightly deeper floral scent. I like it best once it settles into skin an becomes much sweeter. Those vanilla and amber notes take over and give off that sweet fruity floral scent. I realized I don't like pear in fragrances, plus I'm not a big fan of florals either, so I much prefer this fragrance when it develops into those creamier stronger base notes. I'd say it's nice mix of fruity floral and stronger sweeter base

If I compare it to Attraction Rush, this is much more floral based while Rush is much more powdery and almost oriental. Attraction Rush is still my favorite, but this one is nice once it properly develops into those base notes. I think you'd like it, if you like sweet based fragrances with a hint of fruity and floral notes to it and think Rush version is just too strong for you.

To conclude my thought on this, I think it's worth getting it, if you like most of the products in it. My favorite out of these are Glow On Illuminator, Avon Attraction perfume and Dry Ends Serum. I loved tester of Boosting Splash. I also like Big & Daring Mascara, but would almost prefer it in regular version not waterproof, because I almost never use waterproof mascaras. Their Gel Shine range is amazing, but I rarely wear pink nail polishes, so I much prefer their other shades, but can see the appeal of pink for most people. Sunscreen is also nice, but nothing special and I would prefer a higher SPF for me personally. The only product that was a let down was their micellar water, but this is again my personal preference. If you don't have as sensitive skin, you might like it better. I will still use it up since I have daily swatching on my program, so it will definitely come in handy.

I hope Avon does more of these beauty boxes. They would be especially nice for Christmas shopping as you can give some of the products away as gifts what may not suit your personal style. I also think they should include more of their skin care in these boxes. But all in all, I like the concept.

Kissy Nails

I once did lip design on my nails, but I never posted that manicure on the blog. So I decided to do this lip design again, but on nude base which I really enjoy these days. I got a lot of compliments on this manicure and everyone seemed to think I stamped it on, but it's actually a free hand design.

I did two coats of nude nail polish as a base. I used Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish - 180 Chai on Life.

Then I took brighter red nail polish, which was Kiko LE Arctic Holiday Nail Lacquer - 02 Breathtaking Red and a small long brush for creating stripes. I used it to draw on design of the lips. At first I thought I'll make them all the same, but then I did some bigger and some smaller to not make it look like wallpaper.

It's hard to draw anything on with free hand, but I think it shouldn't be too perfect. After all, it's free hand, not a stamp. Mine definitely isn't all the same, but it still looked fun once it was all done.

I also applied thicker shiny top coat which was Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat. Make sure to wait for the design to completely dry and avoid smudging, but I was in a rush, so I had no choice. Some smeared a little, but it wasn't that noticeable. Oh and I also did it on my other hand. That was a struggle.

This is definitely one of my favorite nail designs that I've done so far, because it's very simple, but makeup themed. I'm getting back into drawing on my nails, so expect more of these short manicure posts in the future.

On my lips I'm wearing Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Red Supreme.

Review: NYX Pro Foundation Mixer - White

$

I realize this review should have been written a while ago. I had this product for about 10 months now, plus white foundations tend to be more sought after in the winter time, but nonetheless, I finally made up my mind about this. It's definitely one of must have products for all of your that like higher coverage and find most drugstore foundations to be too dark for your skin tone.

Packaging

It comes in a black plastic tube. I like that it has a small hole, because sometimes you don't need a lot of product at once.

In it is 30 ml of product and I bought it on Lookfantastic for 8£ (around 9€). You can find NYX in many online shops, in Slovenia it's also available on Ličila.si.

Colors

They have six different shades available to mix with your foundation, like warmth and olive. I got White, which is as the word says, completely white. I love this, because it means it won't change foundation's undertone. Most of these pale mixers have rose tint to it, which I dislike, because I have warm undertone.

Formula

It's a thicker cream formula that has smooth glide to it and is easy to mix in with foundations. This has good pigmentation, which means it lightens foundation well, but that being said, you still need fairly good amount of product to lighten anything that is more than one to two shade too dark for you.

It has a bit of sour scent to it, but it's very faint almost trying to be not scented.

Performance

I've tried it with many of my foundations and came to a conclusion that this is the perfect white foundation to mix with thicker higher coverage foundations, because it's also fairly pigmented and slightly thicker. It may give your liquid foundations more of a thicker consistency.

I've also noticed that this has more of a matte finish and can turn foundations slightly matter, but not in a weird way. I personally prefer semi matte finishes anyways. But just keep that in mind, if you're planing to mix it with some lightweight dewy liquids.

As far as the texture goes, I don't notice any cakey look to it. It doesn't transform foundations too much, apart from making them slightly thicker and matter.

Now let's take a look at some of my mixes. For reference, my skin tone is about NC15 at my palest which is when I mixed most of these foundations.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation Oily/Combination 150 Buff + NYX White

I used moisturizing skin care before applying this mixture, hence the dewy finish. It has nothing to do with actual finish of foundation.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation 51 Light Vanilla + NYX White

Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Miracle Foundation 45 Warm Almond + NYX White

If you have foundation that is like 4 to 5 shades too dark for you, you'll definitely need to make the mix in 1:1 at least or even mix in more of white foundation than the actual colorful foundation.

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation 010 Light Beige + NYX White

I definitely like the consistency and effect of this. It really lightens foundations that are just a tad bit too dark for you. If you're super pale and most foundations are really dark, you'll use this up way quicker. I like that it's thicker and gives me good coverage plus it dries down matte. White really is white and doesn't change undertone of foundation either. There is only 30 ml of product, which is definitely not enough for me, but it's not too expensive either. I'll definitely repurchase this again, because it's so far the best white foundation I have tried. If you have dewier and more lightweight foundations, this might be too thick or too matte for your taste.

Favorite Repurchased Products

I'm always mentioning new products in my favorites as well as in my reviews, but I don't get to talk about those products that I repurchase and truly love on daily basis. This is why I decided to do a whole post dedicated to those products that I'm loving and have repurchase multiple times. I think it speaks volumes when you repurchase something. It means you really like it. Especially in this day of ages where you're bombarded with new products all the time.

This has holy grail status in my book. In fact, if I did a post of forever repurchased products, this would be it. It's my absolute favorite micellar water of all time and I can't even remember how many times I've repurchase it. I had tried a few other versions, but none impressed me as much. One reason being that this is the most gentle micellar. It never irritates my eyes or skin around the eyes. I use this only as eye makeup remover, because I don't usually use waterproof mascaras. It removes my eye makeup well and I don't have to rub it or use too much of it. It's fairly expensive, but I use it sparingly only for the eyes and it lasts me a long time. I can definitely justify the price. Tip, always buy bigger versions, because they are cheaper per mililiter. Sometimes they also had 1+1 offer, but lately they have two 250 ml versions for 30% off. I also found 500 ml version 50% off on other sites that sell these.

These two are my staple face creams. Ever since I first tried them out,  I have been repurchasing them and always have one of these in the drawer, even though I'm also testing out new face creams here and there. Day Cream is thicker and very glowy version that I enjoy in colder months. It's got that glow that just instantly makes your skin look hydrated and plumped. I have combination skin and it's not too much for me. It sits well under makeup and helps it too look moisturized and luminous. It also feels very soothing on the skin.

Gel-Cream is described as night time product, but I use it in warmer months as a day cream. It's got more of that refreshing gel texture that absorbs well, but feels moisturizing on the skin. It's that perfect lightweight basic cream for combination or even oily skin. Everyone needs moisture and both of these deliver just that without any irritating factors. They have subtle fresh scent to them, but contain no parabens or dyes. The main selling point of this formula is chia seeds which can hold a lot of their water weight. I think this must be the reason why both of these creams make my skin look moisturized and plump.

This is Korean sun screen and I have to say the formula is amazing. If there's one thing about Asian sun screens, it's the ultra comfortable to wear formula. This is actually chemical sun screen, as it contains chemical filters, which is part of the reason why this feel so nice on the skin. It's a lighter cream that feels thinner in consistency, but is not liquid. It glides on the face like a dream and soaks in fast. Finish that it leaves on the skin is velvet and great for a base under makeup. It also has lovely subtle citrus scent. I use this on daily for when I don't really go outside much. I have repurchased it three times now.

This is on that level of fame as Bioderma. I've stopped counting how many times I have repurchased it. Let's just say I always have to have one in my stash. When I see one getting empty, I purchase another one. It's essentially a cream for dry parts of your body, sort of a universal cream. I wouldn't apply this on my body, because it's very thick and shiny. In fact, this looks much more like a shiny lip balm and that's what I use it for. I have problems with dry and chapped lips all the time, no matter the season and I have tried a lot of products, but none really helped me. Except this one. I feel like this is the only product that soothes my lips, gives them sticky protective layer and nourishes them better than most other lip products. It's shiny and you can't really wear it under matte lip sticks. I also dislike the tube packaging, because it means you'll need to involve your fingers whenever you use it. The scent is also something to get used too. It's very strong. I have had fragrance free version which was much more subtle in scent, but it still smelled intense. Fragrance free version is more expensive, so I usually go for regular version. It's again one of those higher priced products, but you get a lot of product and it lasts long enough to justify the price.

I've just realized that I almost always use a mixture of more than one base products. I always mix multiple foundations or BB creams together to get that perfect color as well as finish. And this Missha BB Cream is one of my favorite base makeup products. Nothing makes my skin look as good in the winter as this. It has it all, looks like skin, doesn't emphasize dry patches or pores, has great coverage and never looks cakey. The only thing that's a bit off is the shade. It's actually light enough for my winter complexion, but turns more grey than I would like. I prefer yellow or olive undertone. It's not just great for winter, I also use it in the summer and mix it in with other foundations. Mostly with Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (which gives me that yellow undertone) or Revlon Colorstay foundation (which is higher coverage and has more of an olive under tone). I never liked BB cream, but this one looks like the best medium coverage foundation that just looks so good and not obvious on the skin. I already had a few mini travel sizes as well as two full sized products. So far, this is the best BB cream I've found.

If there's one staple foundation that I can safely say has been repurchased many times, it's this one by Revlon. It has quite a status in the beauty industry and is one of those rare foundations that have been on the market for a fairly long time and is still going strong. I've heard it being well loved by professional makeup artists as well. I love it, because it has higher coverage and the color 150 Buff is actually really close to what I would want from the foundation. Buff is just the closest to olive tone in light colored drugstore foundations. One thing that makes this foundation a staple is lasting power. This lasts so well on the skin. It has minimal fading through the day. If you make sure to blend it out well, it won't look cakey either. It also has no added fragrance and just feels soothing on most skin types. Plus, now they've finally added the pump, so it makes it easy to use as well.

I just can't bring myself to spend 20€ on Beauty Blender, because I know I'll want to throw it away or replace it in the matter of two months. So I can't justify the price of it. Instead, I've found drugstore priced makeup sponge that is super soft and does the job of blending just as well. This one by H&M is the softest makeup sponge I have tried so far. It expands well under the water, blends makeup well and I don't feel guilty replacing it, because it's fairly cheap. Let me point out, that I have only used their sponges that come in package of one and they all have some sort of design on the plastic box. I can't say if their other sponges are as soft as these.

Another one of those products that I have repurchased about five or six times. I always wait for this to be on offer, because then it's cheaper, around 3 or 4€. It's a basic setting spray that can also be used to prep the face for makeup. I personally use this only as a setting spray and when I want to intensify shimmery or metallic eyeshadows. Put eyeshadow on the brush and spray it with this. You'll get a much more intense and creamy application with less fallout. I also use this to set my makeup almost all the time. Spray is a bit blotchy and you feel like you've gotten wet while spraying it, but that doesn't bother me that much. It contains alcohol as most setting and fixing sprays, so you'll feel a bit of that tightening effect right after you spray it. It will make my makeup last longer. I also love spraying this when I use a lot of powder products, because it just melts the powders together and it doesn't look as powdery. I don't feel guilty drenching my face in this, because it's very affordable.

You would think that I would have a separate review of the product that I've repurchased about 12 times, but no. It's a about time I do that. I have been using this ever since it came out and I certainly hope Catrice is not stupid enough to discontinue it. It's a hard pencil that you need to sharp. Formula is hard enough that it doesn't go everywhere, but it still gives you color on the brows that lasts well. I especially like this 020 Date With Ash-ton shade, because I feel it's one of those universal shades that will suit many skin tones. It has medium brown color with grey undertone. It's not too light, not too dark and definitely not redish or orange. I like this for a softer brow look. It's my first base brow product that lays down the color. It's the quickest, yet still precise way of filling in your brown and making them look thicker.

After that Eye Brow Stylist base, I would usually go in with something more precise like this Slim'matic Ultra Precise pencil. It's a much more waxy and pigmented formula. Pencil has the thinnest tip ever and you can actually draw in individual hair like strokes. I love this, because of the precise slim tip that allows me to get a precise outline on the edges or to fill in those parts that don't have any hair and where regular pencils don't grab on the skin. It's basically the cheapest precise slim pencil I have found in drugstore range. I use color 030 dark which is more of a medium brown with again that grey undertone to it. I think it's still very expensive for how little product you get, but there are much more expensive products like such from NYX or Anastasia Beverly Hills. That is the reason why I only use it to tweak my brows and not all over the brow, because I would use it up too fast. I have repurchased about 8 of these already.

My absolute favorite black liquid liner is this one by Clio. I prefer brush applicators, because they have thinner tip and you can be more precise with them. You can get the thinnest line possible with this kind of applicator. Downside is that sometimes brush tip can get dirty from eyeshadows and you need to wipe it off, but I don't mind that. I think this one by Clio is the best, because it's very saturated. In fact, I use this for too long. Usually, I have been replacing my liquid liners in about a month or two, but this will literally last for up to 5 months and it won't get dried out. Design on the packaging will rub off almost completely, but there will still be product in the actual brush. Amazing, if I may say so. It means this product is really cheap, if you think how long you'll be using it. Formula is liquid enough, but it has thicker opaque base to it, which means one swipe will give you all the color you want. It doesn't bleed in cracks, dries really fast and is smudge as well as water proof. Great formula for all of you that have hooded eyes or in general problems with smudging. If brush applicator is just not for you, Clio also has sponge tip applicator called Clio Kill Black Pen Liner, but I feel like that one dries out faster than the brush version.

Lash Sensational by Mabelline is my favorite mascara. I have repurchased it about 8 times now and it's the one mascara that I always keep in my stash. I often test new mascaras, but whenever I want something staple that I know works for me, I get this one. It has silicon wand that is slightly curved. On one end it has shorter bristles and on the other longer. Shorter bristles give you amazing separation and definition, while longer bristles pack more of the product which means volume. It's mascara that holds my curl well and doesn't smudge. It may have a bit of fallout once it gets drier. It works best when it dries out just a bit, in a about a week or two from opening. You'll love this one, if you look for something that separates lashes, gives them definition, yet still adds a bit of volume. I love volume, but am not willing to sacrifice definition over it and this one gives me both.

Protecting your hair from heat should be a priority for all of those that regularly use blow driers or any other hot tools. I blow dry my hair almost every time, because I'm always in a rush to go somewhere. I am also very good at using heat protecting products whenever I blow dry, curl or straighten my hair. This one by L'Oreal is my favorite drugstore option. It's fairly affordable and I love how nourishing this feels on the hair. It's more of a nourishing as well as styling product. I love smooth version, because it gives my hair a very smooth and shiny look. It also makes my ends look nicer almost like they've been moisturized without even needing to add any additional product on top. If you wear your hair straight or just like a very sleek and smooth look, you'll like this product. It's not just there to protect the hair, but it also feels nourishing at the same time.

If you have oily roots, you'll understand the struggle after two or three days of not washing the hair. My roots get very oily, more so in the summer. Especially, during working out, this can be a big problem. No one wants to wash their hair every day, it's too time consuming. That's why they've created dry shampoos and Batiste is by far the best for making your hair looking non-greasy. Yes, it leaves a white powdery residue on the hair, but you can brush it out. Powder soaks up all that grease and once you brush it through, you're hair not only looks cleaner, but it also has much more volume, because of the added texture, which is just another plus for me. It's the only shampoo that can make my hair look like I've washed it and I didn't. It also comes in many different scent versions. My favorite is Wild and Tropical. I also buy those mini travel sizes to carry with me. I have repurchased many sizes as well as different scents so far.

Balea Shaving Gel

It was only fitting to include this product in this post since I repurchase it all the time. It's Balea shaving gel. They often times change up their scents and some are even limited editions, but they're pretty much all the same - colored gel, that once you get it out of the packaging, turns into foam. It creates a nice barrier between your skin and the razor. I love it, because I need the smallest amount of gel and they always have fun scents. Plus the price is just right.

Balea Med Shower Gel With Allantoin

Another great body product from Balea that I have repurchase multiple times. It's their shower gel from Med line with neutral pH and added allantoin. It's a transparent wash gel with gentle soothing scent that foams lightly. I use this whenever I have dry or irritated skin on my body. More so in the colder months than in warmer. It's gentle enough for allergy prone skin and great for those with very dry skin, because heavily perfumed shower gels can further aggravate your skin. Even male side of the family loves this, because dry skin is dry skin, no mater the sex. It's also very affordable compared to some pharmacy brands that offer pretty much the same products.

July 2018 Favorites

July has been one of those favorite months, because I got to go on a short vacation by the sea. Those always make me so happy and yet said in a way, when I have to leave back home. I've also been discovering some new favorites that I can't put down as well as rediscovering some old ones that are worth mentioning.

Balea Erfrischendes Wasch Gel

I've had previous version of this wash gel, but the new one is even better, because it has a much more subtle fresh scent to it. It's a basic gel type of wash gel that leathers well and cleans your skin nicely. I use it as a second cleanse in the evening and in the morning to wash of my night time skin care. It does the job, is cheap and apparently has good pH, from what I can hear from others.

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion

I've ordered a small size of this popular hydrating lotion to try it out first, before committing to a full size version, even though this small one wasn't cheap either. So far, I really like it. It's like a viscose water that feels very refreshing and like nothing on the skin, yet it still manages to hydrate the skin well. These are more my first impressions, but so far this seems to work for me. I especially like it for those hot summer days, because it's so lightweight. It has no scent and you need so little of the product, like two or three drops, so it will last me a while.

This is definitely my favorite bronzer so far and I love it for summer. It's so easy to apply, has nice sheen on the skin without any shimmer and smells very much like pina colada. I love that it has a bit of grey undertone to it, because I can also use it to just slightly carve our my cheeks without needing to use a second product. Formula is buttery and a dream to apply with fluffy brush.

Avon Mark Magix HD Finishing Powder

My Paese Rice Powder is on it's last leg, so I started to use this one by Avon. It's surprisingly nice, finely milled and because it's translucent, it sinks into the skin well. It's not as good at absorbing sebum as Paese, but still keeps me pretty matte. It never looks cakey or too powdery. This has now become one of my new favorite setting powders.

In-Nude-Endo Pressed Powder Highlighter

I can't seem to put this palette down. Formula is different from shade to shade, but most have creamy texture to them. I love how pigmented these are, yet they look almost a bit transparent on the skin. It's that type of proper glass shine that doesn't have too strong of a base like most metallic drugstore highlighters tend to have. This reflects light so nicely. I was afraid that most of the shades would be too dark, but they actually blend into the skin well. My two favorite shades are Fine Line and On Tempo. Recently, I've got some tan, so I'll definitely be testing out some darker shades as well.

Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip - On Board

Another favorite from Colourpop that stole my heart, since I first tried it. There's just something about glossy lips in the summer that feels so ultra comfortable and looks kinda sexy. On Board gives you that hint of warm caramel brown tint with lots of multi colored shimmer in it that reflect light so well and make your lips look extra juicy. Formula sticks well to the lips, but doesn't feel sticky. It applies with ease and feels super comfortable. I also adore their fudge caramel scent.

Lemon Sugar is probably one of my all time favorite nail polish shades from Avon. I've had it for a while and even repurchased another bottle. It's my favorite yellow nail polish for spring and summer. Color is that of a milky pastel yellow that brights up my complexion and looks so nice on the nails. I've been wearing it this month again and I just had to include it in my favorites. Formula is also fairly nicely pigmented for such a pastel shade. Two coats will do the trick.

Nivea Moisturizing Micellar Shampoo

That's a surprising favorite in this bunch. I wasn't sure what to think of it, when I got it, because drugstore shampoos and conditioner have let me down in the past couple of months. However, this is a lovely gem among those. It's a transparent gel type of texture that leathers really well and cleans the hair nicely. What I like the most about it, is that it doesn't make my hair too smooth. It means, my hair still has some grip to it and I almost feel like it adds texture to it which is great for my fine hair. Either I blow dry it or let it air dry, I always have added volume and texture. It might not be for those of you that want very moisturizing super smooth hair, but for my hair type, it works great. It also has this soothing fresh type of Nivea scent to it that I like.

Can you tell how old this is? They've now changed their design on the bottles. I have had it for a while and I still can't use it up. It just lasts so well. I use this basically as a perfume in the summer, sometimes in combination with others. It's very powerful for a mist, so you can definitely use it just as a perfume. It has more of a sweet vanilla feel to it with just a hint of coconut in there, but I always get compliments when wearing it, because it's just so basic in a way and everyone seems to like it. My friend told me the other day that she'll get another one as well, because it lasts so well on her and everyone compliments her. It's just one of those crowd pleasers. Plus you get a huge amount and I'm afraid mine will go bad before I use it up.

Njivice - Croatia

Yesterday, I came home from a short vacation in Croatia. I went to Njivice - island Krk. Every summer, I get so excited to go on a short vacation by the sea, because it's one of my ultimate pleasures and relaxations. I'm a sea person at heart. Everything about it is fun and relaxing at the same time. It was very hot, so cool crystal clear water was perfect for cooling down. Even though I spent most of the time under an umbrella in the shade, I still got a bit of tan. Probably from all the chilling on my inflatable pineapple (check my IG for more photos). The sea is just extra pretty here, but the water was quite cold, so it was a good thing that it was so hot outside.

I also got to experience something new - fish pedicure. They use Garra rufa fish for the pedicure. I was a bit skeptical about it, but it turned out to be safe. They keep water sterilized after each client and I was surprised about the hygiene aspect in general. Everything was disinfected with alcohol, plus the water with fish in it, looked super clean. About a 100 of small fish attack your feet as soon as you put it in the water. You start to feel small tingle and after a while it starts to feel like bubbles forming around your feet or putting your feet in mineral water. They told me that our dead skin is being sucked off by those fish in the water and that to them this is like a dessert, chocolate in a way. They obviously feed them with proper food as well. Fish were extra cute and the feeling was almost relaxing. I can't say my feet were as smooth as when you get a proper pedicure with files and all, but my skin felt smoother. It was a nice experience. I also got to play some mini golf to entertain myself in the evening as well as try out supping, which was a struggle on waves. All in all, it was way too short (like always), but sweet.

Review: Avon Mark Epic Intense Eyeshadow Mini Palette - Color Crush and The Big Intense Kohls

I recently received the most colorful palette from Avon Mark Epic Intense Eyeshadow Mini Palette collection - shade Color Crush and I wanted to share it on the blog, because I think it's so fun. Avon has also updated packaging and added some new shades to their The Big Intense Kohl Longwear Kohl Eyeliner and I'm sharing with you new shades.

Avon Mark Epic Intense Eyeshadow Mini Palette - Color Crush

I already tried three of the palettes from this range and you can read review of them here. This is definitely the most colorful selection of shades and I love it. All the shades seemed really well pigmented and this is in general probably the most pigmented palette out of all four.

Packaging

These palettes have shiny black plastic packaging. They have secure closing with the push button. In each is 5 grams of product and the regular price is 13€.

Colors

Color Crush is the most colorful option in this range. It features four vibrant shades with different finishes. You can create a whole look with just these or pair them with your more neutral shades.

Shade 1 - shimmery neutral citron yellow with chunks of gold glitter.
Shade 2 - satin cool purple with blue sheen. The shimmer in it is super small, so it just gives you this gorgeous cooler sheen.
Shade 3 - matte cool cobalt blue.
Shade 4 - satin cool fuchsia pink with purple sheen. This one also contains small shimmer like shade 2 and the shimmer gives this color a cooler purple sheen.

Formula

All of these shades are actually nicely pigmented, but you will need to build them up to look absolutely opaque. Pigmentation is actually the best I've seen so far from these Epic palettes. Formula of Avon eyeshadows is on the drier side. They can be harder to blend, especially brighter shades.

Performance

They may fade just a bit through the day, but I haven't notice them creasing, although I always use eyeshadow primer underneath any powder eyeshadows.

I used shade 1 in the inner corner of the eye, shade 4 in the inner part of the lid and shade 2 in the outer part of the lid and outer v. Around the bottom lash line I used shade 3. In the inner rim I used The Big Intense Kohl in Cobalt. For upper eyeliner I used Clio Kill Black Brush Liner.

Lips: Avon Mark Liquid Lacquer Matte - Kissy Face

Avon Mark The Big Intense Kohls

I also already have a review of these kohls, but they've now been redesigned a bit and Avon added two new shades to the range. I like these, because they are soft and great for smudging out or creating smoky look. You can see swatches of other shades here

Packaging

These come in a regular black pencil form.On one side you have the pen and on the other it's a rubber sponge which I find quite useful. It has pointy tip with which you can easily smudge it out in a perfect wing without too much effort. Very useful in my opinion, especially if you're constantly on the go.

Colors

Currently they have 6 shades in the range. They are all mostly neutral with a few colorful shades, but still in a darker very wearable version.

Bronze Sheen - shimmery warm bronze brown with gold shimmer chunks.
Intense Brown - matte neutral dark brown. It seems to have a tad bit of redish tint to it, but it's not actually warm. It just turns really warm on my skin tone.
Deep Violet - satin cool dark purple. It has that satin sheen to it, but with no visible shimmer in it.
Cobalt - matte cool dark cobalt blue.
Midnight - satin cool dark grey blue. This is actually really interesting shade. It's a mix of grey and blue plus also has a hint of purple in it. It's not as satin as Deep Violet, but it's definitely not completely matte.
True Black - matte black.

Formula

Intense Brown and True Black are the most pigmented and have the most creamy formula. Next would be Cobalt Blue, Midnight, then Bronze Sheen and the least pigmented or the most sheer seems to be Deep Violet. They are all in general on a more creamier side, so they glide on with ease. You can easily smudge them out. I also like wearing these on the waterline.

Performance

Because they are creamy, they can transfer, if you don't set them and have hooded or oily lids. If you apply a bit of powder or powdery eyeshadow on top, chances of transferring are smaller. But then again kohls are usually for smudging and you can use these almost as a base under powdery eyeshadows. Other than that, they seem to last well on the lids as well as on the inner rim of the eye.

I didn't apply all the shades on my eyes, because I already have swatches here, so I'm only showing you two new shades.

Avon The Big Intense Kohl - Intense Brown

Avon The Big Intense Kohl - Midnight

I like Color Crush selection of shades. It's harder to find vibrant shades in a drugstore range. These all have interesting finish and perform well on the eyes, but are a bit harder to blend and need to be build up to look completely opaque. If you want something more colorful and that you can build up slowly, this might be that palette for you.

I also like Avon kohls, because they have fairly neutral and very wearable shades. Some could have better pigment, but they are creamy enough and great to blend out. Plus the sponge makes it so easy to pull the color out in a winged shape. My favorite are definitely true black and intense brown, because they have the best pigmentation. But other shades are great to add to your routine, if you want to add some color, but don't know how. I've been loving a bit of color on my waterline.

Review: Ecotools Define & Highlight Duo Makeup Brushes

$

It's rare that I post a separate brush review, because I just feel like most of you aren't that interested in these posts. I've done post of my favorite brushes, but whenever I come upon some really nice for the price, I want to share it with you. Today is that occasion. I'm talking about Ecotools, which is a brand the brand that is not talked about a lot, but has great quality brushes. I've recently ordered their Define & Highlight Duo and it deserves a separate review.

Packaging

As far as I know, Ecotools is a natural brand and all of their packaging is recyclable. They use bamboo for brush handles and cruelty-free synthetic bristles. This duo came in a paper box packaging that isn't all that glamorous, but who cares, it's all about the product. I like lightweight bamboo nude colored handles. The bristles are brown and super soft, actually one of the softest I have tried so far.

I paid 9.86€ with discount for the pair on iHerb. Ecotools used to be in Spar and I'm kind of sad they removed them from Slovenia.

Fan Brush

This is you're thicker and quite large fan brush that is usually used to highlight with. Bristles are fluffy and slightly tapered towards the center, so you get a lovely blend. It's not just a straight cut brush. I like that the bristles aren't too dense, so it doesn't apply too much product, but it's also not just one row of bristles like with some cheaper brands.

I've tried it for highlighting and it's nice, but I like a smaller and more of a larger eye blending brush to apply highlighter, because it allows me to concentrate it on specific areas. Fan brush gives you more of a brushed all over highlighted look. You can apply it sheer or build it up, depending on pressure and product. I found it hard to use on top of brow arch or down the nose, because of its size.

To me this is one of the best brushes to contour with. Funny enough, the other brush in this duo should be used to contour. Fan shape hugs that c shape under your cheek bone so well, and because it's slightly tapered, it never looks like a straight up harsh line. It also fits perfectly around your jaw line and you can even dust it around the hair line.

Used For Contouring

Used For Highlighting

Tapered Brush

This is medium sized tapered face brush. The bristles are nicely shaped to give you instant blend with no harsh edges. They are soft and fairly densely packed together, but it's still not too thick. Size of it is perfect too, not big, but not small either.

This can be used for so many different parts of the face. Ecotools recommends it to contour with and it's good for that, but for me personally just a bit too dense. I like something fluffier, because I usually apply contouring products very lightly. If you have the right shade of contour product though, you can definitely use it with this brush.

This can also be used for applying blush, because it's the perfect size and it will give you subtle enough, yet visible flushed cheek look.

I personally prefer to use it for powder. Tapered shape fits well under the eyes and around the nose, so I love setting my whole face with it. It allows me to either press the product into the skin or lightly dust it across. It's also the perfect size to only concentrate it on certain areas like you're t zone.

I actually still have a lot of their brushes in my collection from their older design and versions, 6 to be exact: bronzing brush, blush brush, foundation brush, concealer brush and two mini sized powder and concealer brushes. From those I especially like tapered blush brush. They always had great quality brushes, but I feel like these two new ones have even softer bristles and the handles feel more lightweight.

If you're looking for affordable plus natural brand for makeup brushes, I can't recommend Ecotools enough. All the brushes that I tried so far have great quality and really nice soft bristles. The quality is on that Zoeva level. I've had some for years and they still look great. They have many singles as well as sets that you can choose from. I already have my eye on some others like sheer finish blush brush, blending & bronzing brush, full powder brush and precision blush brush. I'm sure I'll get at least one of these in the future, because I'm lacking in good face brushes. I mostly just always buy eye brushes.

Review: Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream Mix Me

$

I'm sure you've all heard of Nivea Soft Cream. It's one of the basic drugstore universal creams for all parts of the body. Nivea in general has a long tradition among my relatives and I feel like at one point everyone used it and some are still faithful to it. This summer Nivea came out with a Mix Me set of three scented versions that you can mix and match to create your own scent.

Packaging

In the package you get three 100 ml creams. It comes in a regular plastic pot with a screw top. I love their design, because it's clean, yet a bit playful. You get the vibe of each scent just by looking at the color of the pot.

I believe the price is around 7€. In Slovenia you can get it in Interspar and Tuš drogerija

Formula

It's as the name would suggest a soft cream that is very lightweight and spreads with ease. It has a bit of that nourishing and moisturizing layer to it, but it's in no way greasy. It needs a bit of time to soak in, and as it does, it becomes less noticeable on the skin. But there's definitely a light moisturizing layer left on the surface which I like with any cream.

Performance

This definitely moisturizes your skin and makes it look better. It's lightweight on the skin and leaves a bit of subtle sheen. I would say this is good for adding that additional moisture and protective nourishing layer. It would be for all skin types except for really dry skin or those sensitive to scented skin care. Scent definitely lingers on the skin for a while, but it's not overpowering, like a proper perfume or body mist would be.

Nivea Mix Me I am the Chilled Oasis one

This is the freshest version out of all three. It should smell of cool mint, fresh green leaves and lilies. This reminds me a bit of the sweet cosmetics green tea scent. It's definitely a bit fresh with that hint of mint in it, but in general still kind of sweet, just in a herbal way. I think this is perfect for those super hot summer days, when you crave something fresher.

Nivea Mix Me I am the Berry Charming one

This is a more romantic version. It should smell of sweet forest strawberries, juicy raspberries and crunchy apples. I find it odd that on the packaging you see cherries as well as peonies, because I definitely feel that this smells more floral fruity. I notice freshness and sweetness of berries, but it's paired with flowers.

Nivea Mix Me I am the Happy Exotic one

This is definitely my favorite scent out of all three. It should smell of pineapple, exotic citruses and pure coconut water. Combination gives you that perfect fresh, yet creamy and coconuty cocktail vibe. I can definitely smell pineapple as well as creaminess of coconut. Citruses are less noticeable, more so just in the beginning. It's the sweetest and the most powdery version out of the three.

Mixing

These scents were designed by Parisian perfume makers so that they can be mixed together. You can create your own scent by just taking some of those creams and mixing them in your hand before applying on the skin. There is no wrong combination. I like the idea of mixing, but in reality, I would almost always forget about that. Usually, I just apply one of these creams depending on what scent fits my mood best. But my favorite combination is Chilled Oasis mixed with Happy Exotic. Probably, because these two are my favorite scents, but they just work together so well to give you sweetness of fruit and freshness of herbs.

If I didn't have eczema on my hands, I would use them there. Now I just use it on the back of my hand, where I don't have eczema and on my body. For the face I have my less perfumed skin care that I use. But you can absolutely use it everywhere, although I feel like these scented versions work best as hand or body creams.

This set would be a perfect gift for any Nivea fans. My friend is one of those, I know she loves their creams and this would be perfect for her. The mixing concept is cute, if you have time to do it. I think three scents in one package is its forte for those that get bored quickly. I would use these as hands creams mostly, but also as a body cream for when I rush out the door, but still want my elbows to look cute. The formula has been on the market for years, probably because it's so lightweight, yet still moisturizing and I like that. If you have Nivea fan in your family, consider this set the perfect gift for your next gifting occasion.

Review: Bourjois Blush - 33 Golden Lilac

I got this blush as a gift from a lovely friend Astrid. It's my first Bourjois blush, but I know this baked formula from their eyeshadows that I once had, many years ago. I wasn't sure I would like it, but the shade looks super natural, so I often reach for it when I want something pinkier.

Packaging

It comes in a small plastic pot with magnetic closing. I find the design cute, because it's so small. It should also represent the color that's inside. With it comes small thinner round shaped brush which is not really soft and doesn't pick up much of that product, so I don't use it. Usually these kind of brushes are useless anyway.

In it is 2.5 grams of product and I'm not sure how much these cost and if we even have them in our drugstores, but the price is around 8 to 10€.

Formula

This blush has baked formula which means it's hard to the touch and the texture is dry. I always use fluffier brushes to apply blush, but with this one, because it's so hard, I need to go in harder. You can definitely build it up slowly and I kind of prefer that over highly pigmented blush.

It has a strong powdery floral scent. Probably the strongest I have ever smelled from makeup, but for some reason I like it. If you're sensitive to scents, this definitely won't be for you.

Color

33 Golden Lilac is warm muddy pink shade with lots of golden shimmer through it. The pink base actually has some warmth to it that almost looks peachy or rather coral, but it's that kind of muted pink which doesn't look too bright on the skin. Golden shimmer looks kind of heavy on the swatch, but it almost falls off the brush, if you use a fluffy brush. So you mostly get just that pinky coral shade without the sparkly shimmer chunks, just a slight sheen.

Comparison

Trend It Up Powder Blush 050 - this one also has muddy base to it, but it's more of a proper mauve pink with slightly cooler base. It also looks darker applied on the skin.
theBalm Hot Mama! - the most pink blush shade out of all of these. It also has that highlight golden sheen to it, but the base is much more of a proper vibrant pink.
Bourjois Blush 33 Golden Lilac - the warmest out of all of these and it has the most chunky shimmer in it. This one almost looks coral compared to others, but with a muddy undertone.

Performance

It lasts all day on me, but it fades a bit, which is normal. It actually has better lasting power than most of my blushes. It doesn't get patchy either.

In general, this is actually pretty good, if you like those blushes that need to be build up. Formula is baked and hard, which means you'll need to go in a few times. Most of the shimmery chunks fall off the fluffy brush so you're left with a nice golden sheen. The color has enough warmth and pink feel to it, that it looks kind of natural and universally loved and it stays well on the skin. All in all, a good product, but definitely a bit more expensive than what I'm used to.

Smoky Purples

Purple was one of my fist colorful eyeshadows I started using, when I was in high school. It's been my beloved eyeshadow color ever since, even though I don't use it as often as for example my neutral browns. Smoky eye isn't what I would usually go for, but if I do, I prefer it to be colorful. Hence why I'm posting this purple smoky eye today. In general, purple eyeshadows look bomb on brown eyes as well as green ones.

As always, I started by using caramel brown matte shade in the crease. In the outer corner I used cooler purple matte to give me some depth. On the lid I used warm purple matte.

I also applied a bit of a winged black liquid liner. On top I applied shimmery metallic purple shade with silver shimmers. Sparkle always makes everything prettier. Around the lower lash line I used purple kohl pencil and I also took it into the water line. I smudged it out with that warm purple matte shade. I also applied metallic shimmery shade on the inner part of lower lid. In the inner corner I used shimmery pink toned highlighter with cooler silver sheen.

I finished eye makeup with combination of two mascaras to give me definition as well as volume.

On the face I used my usual routine - foundation, concealer and powder. I also bronzed up my face a lot, because I'm a bit tanned on my body and I had to match it. I also applied more of a pink toned highlighter with a cooler silver sheen that reflects light well and matches my inner corner highlight. I wanted to keep everything else very nude, so I used more of a brown toned blush for just a hint of color.

On my lips I only used nude colored lip pencil with nothing else. Just something for a bit of definition and slightest color.

Review: Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Chrome and Holographic

$

0
Avon's Gel Shine is my favorite nail polish range from them. I love the shade selection as well as creamy and not too thick formula. They often times expend their ranges and the same happened a few months ago. They've added new chrome shades as well as some that they describe as mermaid vibes.

Packaging

Their nail polishes come in square glass bottles with white plastic tops. They all have a bit longer and thinner straight cut brushes. In each is 10 ml of product and it the regular price is 6.50€.

Avon Mark Gel Shine - Holographic Capture

This one is part of the 6 new shades that Avon describes as mermaid vibes. It's called Holographic Capture and it has silver metallic base with holographic shine. The shine is much more visible under the sunlight. Photos doesn't do it justice. It's such an interesting look. Formula is more of a liquid and it's actually slightly more transparent than their regular Gel Shine nail polishes. But two coats give you opaque color.

Formula

The rest of those 6 nail polishes are part of their Chrome line. They will give you that metallic look with lots of chrome shine to it, because they all contain tiny shimmer. The formula is again sheerer than their regular nail polishes, although two coats should be enough to cover the nails completely.

Performance

I find these to last above average. For me this means 4 to 5 days. In general, all Avon Gel Shine nail polishes have descent wear without chipping too quickly.

Avon Mark Gel Shine - Contrast Boost

Light turquoise with golden shine to it. It's one of the more interesting shades in the range, because it's cooler base with a warm shine.

Avon Mark Gel Shine - Golden Eyes

Light yellow gold with cooler silver sheen. It almost looks like it has a tint of green to it.

Avon Mark Gel Shine - Overintensified

Medium electric emerald green. It reminds me of those emerald colored bugs. I actually really like this color, because it's unique in my collection.

Avon Mark Gel Shine - Pop Art

Medium electric blue. This is again one of my favorites. It looks very similar to Electric Blue shade from their Neon collection, but is in fact lighter blue and not as deep.

Avon Mark Gel Shine - Sparkle Lens

Light antique gold color that has unique mix of silver and gold. It's again one of those unique shades that looks so interesting once the sun hits it.

Avon Mark Gel Shine - Exposure Boost

Medium electric purple. The base is more of a warm pink, but shimmer in it gives you that cooler blue purple sheen.

I am not big on chrome or metallic nail trend, that's why I usually apply matte top coat over these kind of shades and then it looks much prettier in my eyes. Shimmer base gives so much dimension to the matte top coat. If you like this kind of look, these are definitely worth checking out. Some shades are pretty standard, but some actually look unique. My favorite has to be that holographic one, because I love the rainbow shine to it. The formula is fairly easy to work with, just keep in mind you'll need at least two coats to cover the nail. Price is also fairly affordable, just wait for a good offer.

Review: Catrice Brow Colorist Brow Mascara (020 Medium) and Dewy-ful Lips (020 Let's DEW This!)

Catrice and Essence revamp their product range in the spring and fall. These two products are newly added members to their standard range for the fall/winter season of 2018. I decided to pick up only those products that really stood out to me and that I know I will use. For now. I'm sure, I'll get some more, after I read reviews from my fellow bloggers. But so far, I'm loving both, Catrice Brow Colorist Semi-permanent Brow Mascara and Catrice Dewy-ful Lips Conditioning Lip Butter.

Catrice Brow Colorist Semi-permanent Brow Mascara 020 Medium

Packaging

It comes in a paper sleeve which contains all the information about the product. Packaging itself is plastic with gold metal details and tiny

In it is 3.8 ml of product and it costs 4.19€.

It has tiny wand that has bristles shaped in a cone form. The bristles are longer on one side and shorter at the tip. It makes it easy to brush through the brows and catch even the tinniest brow hair.

Formula

It's fiber-enriched tinting brow gel mascara for well-defined natural brows and should be long lasting. Easily and quickly tints, fills, shapes and fixes brows with ultra-precision brush for perfect defined result. The formula should also make your brows darker after 2 weeks of daily usage. The color should last up to 4 days after discontinuing product use.

It has thinner creamy formula that isn't runny, but also doesn't feel particularly thick. The wand holds enough product to cover your entire brow with one application. It needs a bit of time to dry down, so you have enough time to correct any mistakes. Pigmentation is good even though the formula is a bit thinner and more liquid.

Color

In the range are three colors Light, Medium and Dark. I chose 020 Medium which is grey based medium brown

On the left side I filled in my brows with Catrice Eye Brow Stylist in 020 Date With Ash-ton. On the right side I went over it with Catrice Brow Colorist Mascara. It made my brows look fuller and a bit darker.

On the left side is my natural brow without any product and on the right side I applied only Catrice Brow Colorist Mascara. I was surprised at how well this filled up my brows without the need of using any additional product.

Usually I use regular pencil to fill them in and then go in with a more precise pencil to fill in those parts that are missing hair and sharpen up the outline. Then I'll go in with a transparent gel mascara to brush them up and make them look more textured. But now you can do it all with this one product and maybe some additional precise pencil for those outlines or bold spots.

Performance

It's quite wet once you apply it on the brow, but it dries down after a while. It definitely fills in your brows and makes them look darker, thicker as well as bushier. It's not a strong hold brow mascara, so it doesn't fix your brows in a way that it wouldn't make them move. It doesn't feel crispy or make your brows hard to the touch. It lasts well considering that you don't touch your brows. It still looks great at the end of the day, but avoid water or sweat, because it will come off.

I've been using it for about a week, but not every day, so I can't report if this actually tints your brows. But I will definitely update you on my IG stories, if I see a noticeable difference.

Catrice Dewy-ful Lips Conditioning Lip Butter With Shea Butter - 020 Let's DEW This!

Packaging

These come in a plastic tube like packaging with gold metal details and flat sponge applicator, so it's essentially more like a lip gloss tube packaging.

In each is 8 ml of product and it costs 4.39€.

It has soft fluffy sponge applicator that is flat and holds enough product to cover your entire lip in one go. Shape of it fits well on the lips and the application is easy even around the outer edges.

Formula

This is like a liquid lipstick, lip gloss and lip balm all in one. Catrice calls it conditioning lip butter with a dewy finish. It's enriched with shea butter.

It has creamy shiny formula that applies like a dream. Slightly sticky, but not too thick. Pigmentation is great for a lip butter product, almost looks a bit like a liquid lipstick.

Color

In the range you can choose among 4 different shades - pink, coral, red and brown. I got the shade 020 Let's DEW This! which is a light coral. It's not pink, but also not properly peachy, something in between. I find it to be the perfect my-lips-but-better kind of shade

Top: Catrice Dewy-ful Lips 020 Let's DEW This!
Bottom: Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother 040 Coffee To Go

As soon as I saw these in the promo photos, they reminded me of discontinued Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoothers which I adored and still own three shades of these. I compared the formula and realized Lip Smoothers were much more transparent and a bit shinier. They also didn't hold onto the lips as well as the new formula, but they both contain shea butter. It seems like Catrice tweaked their well love formula by adding better hold as well as more color.

Performance

These are one of the most comfortable and soothing lip products for you, if you have problems with dry lips like I do. You can apply it over dry lips and it feels like a dream. It holds well on the lips for being a balmy product. Shine is the first to fade and you're still left with a hint of color after a few hours. Formula almost hydrates your lips a bit and they never feel dry or irritated while wearing it or after taking it off.

I love both of these products. Brow mascara is surprisingly pigmented and you can almost use it on its own, if you don't need much shaping. It gives you color, fills the brows, makes them look thicker and even bushier. It doesn't provide strong hold which is the only thing that is missing, but that means the brows look still fairly natural. If this was waterproof, it would be a winner.

I knew I would love lip butter formula, because Catrice already did it once. Only this time you get even more color for your lips. It's ultra comforting and soothing. Those with dry lips will love it. It gives you a bit of shine and color plus it holds on the lips well for such a creamy product. I predict this is going to be well loved. It's one of those products that many would like. You can also use it as a lip gloss over lip liners or lipsticks. I adore this formula and would like to own all the shades in the range, except the lightest one, which is probably too pale for me.

Have you tried any of the new Catrice products? I'm up for any suggestions on what's good. There is a lot more products that I have my eye on, but I'm not sure if I'll get them all. I'm interested in:
- #peeloff Glam Nail Polish - 03 When In Doubt, Just Add Glitter
- Brow Comb Designer - 030 Ash Brown (I can't find this anywhere, what's happening to this? Has anyone seen it in the store?)
- Triangel Artist Contouring Stick - 020 Ashy Brown and
- Blush Box - 050 Burgundy.

Review: Avon Trendy Beauty Box

Apparently, Avon has decided to stick with the beauty box concept and there is already a new one that you can buy. It's part of their latest campaign and it's mostly makeup, which I like. Let's take a closer look at what's inside.

Avon Mark Perfect Brow Sculpting Pencil - Deep Brown

Regular black plastic pen that comes out by twisting the bottom. It has that angled shape which should make it easier for you to fill in the brows. In it is 0.28 grams of product and the regular price is 6€

Formula is slightly waxy feeling, but not too soft, which means you can keep the product within the lines. Pigmentation is slightly sheerer, which I personally prefer for the brows, otherwise they can quickly look too dark.

It comes only in two shades - Soft Brown and Deep Brown. I have Deep Brown and it's obviously too dark for me, so I only tried it on the brows once, but never really wore it. It's a dark cool brown that almost looks black. This would suit those with black hair or very dark brown hair.

As I've mentioned, it's not my color, so I didn't test it properly. I can't say how long lasting it is.

Avon True Glimmersticks Eyeliner - Brilliant Amethyst

Eyeliner comes in a classic black plastic pen shape. You just twist the bottom and it comes out, no need for sharpening. In it is 0.28 grams of product and the regular price is 6€.

I actually have one of these already, but it's even more shimmery than this one. The formula is also a bit waxy, but glides on the skin with ease. It's sheerer pigmentation, but you can build it up to look more opaque by going over it a few times.

Avon has nice range of eyeliner shades. Some are shimmery, some even glittery and some are matte. Brilliant Amethyst is cooler light purple with silver shimmer. It almost has a bit of brown in it which makes it wearable. Finish is shimmery

Because it's creamy formula, you might get some transfer, if you're lids are oily. I usually use these kind of eyeliners on my lower lash line, because it gives it a nice sparkle to the eyes. It lasted on me the whole day, but did fade a bit. Waxier formula makes it stick to the skin well.

Avon Mark Big & False Lash Mascara Black

Mascara has purple plastic packaging. Wand is definitely bigger than I'm used to. It's that classic natural bristles wand. The bristles are shorter on the tip and longer at the base. In it is 10 ml of product and the regular price is 10.90€

I feel like most Avon mascaras have drier formula and seem very alike. I don't like waterproof formulas, which are also usually drier, so I'm not a fan of this one either. Partly, because it's harder to remove. It also holds the curl better, so that's something to consider. One coat gives your lashes a bit of volume and lengthThe more you apply, the thicker your lashes look, but also clumpier. You sacrifice definition but gain volume, like with most such formulas. I prefer something with more definition, but you might like this one, if you want volume.

It lasts well on the lashes, but I did notice a bit of small crumbles under my eyes. This only happens, when I apply three coats and my lashes start to look thick. Other than that, it didn't smudge under the eyes, but I usually never have problems with that anyway.

Eyeliner: Avon The Big Intense Kohl - Deep Violet
Lower Lash Line: Avon True Glimmersticks Eyeliner - Brilliant Amethyst
Mascara: Avon Mark Big & False Lash Mascara Black

Avon Mark Magix Finishing FX Stick - Candlelight

It's a stick creamy highlighter that comes in a plastic black packaging. You have to twist the bottom to get product out. In it is 8 grams of product and the regular price is 15€

Formula is slightly greasy and waxy feeling, but it applies evenly and glides on with ease. Pigmentation is sheerer, so it lets your skin be seen through. This is advertised as a strobing product, so you won't get that blinding highlight from it. It's that kind of glossy transparent highlighter. Shimmer in it is very fine. It gives your skin that believable sheen without any visible shimmer chunks.

You can get it in two shades. Star Struck is apparently for cool skin tones and Candlelight is for warm skin tones. Candlelight is a light gold that has transparent white basewith light gold sheen. It's very light in color and would be perfect for fair and light skin tones. It looks even prettier when the sun hits it.

Because it's a cream product, you can't expect it to last as long as powders. It sticks to the skin well, but is not transfer proof. I notice it fading as the day goes on. The look on the skin is very natural.

I actually prefer to use it on my body than on the face. It's perfect to apply straight line down the center of your legs and blend out with hands to make them look longer. I also love it on the arms and collar bone. On the face I prefer something more visible, but if you like that glossy natural look with just a bit of sheen or something to put on when you're not wearing foundation, you would love this product.

I actually reviewed this whole matte range here, but this shade was added later as a satin finish. You can read full review of it here

There is 7 ml of product in it and the regular price is 9.50€

It's a thicker whipped cream formula that you have to apply lightly to avoid it looking weird. It has good pigmentation and matte finish. This particular shade also contains small shimmer in it, but is in general the most wearable shade from this range - light warm pinky brown nude

I like this formula as it's similar to NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, just thicker. It doesn't feel uncomfortable on the lips, but is also not moisturizing. It's definitely less drying than your regular matte liquid lipstick formulas.

Avon True Colour Nailwear Pro+ - Frosted Peach

As with most Avon nail polishes, this one also has standard glass square bottle design with black plastic top. In it is 10 ml of product and the usual price is 6.50€.

Formula is on the thinner and liquid side, but not runny. Because it has metallic finish, you'll see every swipe of the brush, so application needs to be precise. Pigmentation is good, but you will need two coats to make it cover the nail entirely.

There are 5 new shades being added to Nailwear Pro+ range and they all seem to have metallic finish. Frosted Peach is one of them. It's a light warm gold with a cooler metal sheen.

Nail polish dries fairly fast and the wear is average - about 4 days on my nails.

Avon Far Away Rebel Eau de Parfum

I have only one perfume from Avon's Far Away range, called Exotic (already discontinued), and it's one of my all time favorite scents. There are barely a few drops left in it. You can read about it here. Obviously, I was excited to try their latest fragrance, called Rebel. It's a bit different design wise compared to other perfumes from this line, so I expected something fun.

In the box you get mini travel size that has glass bottle with gold metallic top, but the proper full size bottle has lovely purple and gold design. It contains 10 ml of eau de parfum and usually costs 9€.

Top notes: black currant, whipped cream.
Middle notes: orange blossom.
Base notes: toffee, chocolate.

From the first spritz I smell that fruity sour and sweet note which is paired with something very sweet. It quickly turns slightly more floral and bitter, which lingers on the skin for a while. The final stage is that omg-I-need-something-sweet stage, strong caramel (almost burnt) scent mixed with chocolate. This fragrance is definitely for those with a sweet tooth and love of sweeter scents. I would describe it as fruity sweet.

Lasting power is average. I've had better lasting Avon fragrances.

In this box you get 6 full size products and one mini. If you would buy these product at a full price, you would pay 62.90€, but the beauty box costs 26.90€. If you like most of the products that are inside, I'd say it's worth it.

My personal favorite from this box is definitely mini perfume and Candlelight stick highlighter. Perfume is exactly my type of sweet scent that I love and the mini size makes it so useful to carry around with. Stick highlighter has that surprisingly subtle glossy glow to it that I love. It's not what I would typically go for the face, but on the body it looks amazing. I personally also like that it's so light in color, because it suits my skin tone well.

I also love Kissy Face lipstick which is one of the most wearable nude shades in the range and matte formula is great. I would prefer it without the shimmer though. You have to apply it nice in order to look best that it can, don't overdue it. Eyeliner is equally as pretty and creates that sparkle without too much effort. I love these kind of eyeliners for the lower lash line.

Mascara is OK, but I'm just not a fan of drier and mostly volumizing formulas. Nail polish formula is good, but I'm not liking metallic finishes and almost never wear them. Brow pencil is too dark for my brows, so I obviously don't get to use it.

Najnovejšo Avonovo lepotno škatlico lahko naročite še do 5. septembra 2018 za 26.90€.

August 2018 Favorites

August has left the building and so has summer. I'm finishing this post on a rainy afternoon, but my favorites are still very much connected to those hot summery days. I mostly have some new products that have impressed me this month, but also some that have been in my stash patiently waiting to be used again.

DermaluxeLash

I've been using this since March, but I used this about every second or third day, because I forgot to be honest. In July I started using it every single evening. You can use it in the evening and in the morning, but I only used it in the evening. I noticed my lashes becoming longer after about two months of occasional use and I still use it, even though one bottle should last you about a month or two. I'll soon write a full review of this lash growth serum, but it works. Everyone started noticing my lashes being really long and I love it, even though I was a big skeptic at first.

This is surprisingly better than I expected. If you're in a rush, you can just apply this through your brows and it gives you color, fills them in, makes them look thicker and brushes them up. It doesn't cover bold spots, but if you have good natural brows, this might be the only product you need. It also lasts well and doesn't make your brows look too unnatural or crispy looking.

Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow 143

Here and there I crave something colorful and this shadow in shade 143 has been doing it for me this month. It's super vibrant warm toned purple that just looks so good matched with brown eyes. I've always loved purple eyeshadows and Colourpop formula is amazing. Really good pigmentation and easy to blend as well as build up.

Avon Mark Magix HD Finishing Powder

I started using this powder a while ago and then I stopped, but now came back to it. It's transparent loose powder that is finely milled and looks like nothing on the skin. You can set your makeup with it, make it more matte and even bake. I've been doing some baking myself, because I get really oily on my T zone on those sweaty hot summer days and it worked fine. It's not super mattifying, but it helps to prevent sebum for a while. I like that it's so lightweight and it doesn't change the color of my base products.

The brush that I've been loving applying powder with is this Ecotools define brush that is part of their Define & Highlight Duo. It's just the perfect shape to fit under the eyes as well and it has very soft bristles. It deserved to be mentioned, because I didn't put it down ever since I got it. If you want something affordable, but very nice quality, Ecotools is the way to go.

Unfortunately, Essence discontinued this highlight a while ago and I will never understand why. It's one of those understated formulas that looks so good once you apply it, but the swatch is just average. It gives beautiful slightly cooler sheen to the skin without any visible shimmer and it looks natural, yet glowy. In those hot summer days a full on highlighter is clashing with my sebum production, so I've been loving something a bit more subtle like this gem from Essence. I also have a bit of tan so the color suits me better now.

I prefer to use shimmery blushes in summer, because they somehow look better with a bit of tan and give you more of that sun kissed glow. It also serves as a highlighter without the need of adding another highlight on top to make things look even greasier. This one by theBalm is that typical pink shade with golden shimmer that gives you color and makes your cheeks look juicy.

Another favorite shimmery blush is Luminoso which I use all year around. It's the perfect peach shade with golden sheen, but the sheen is less obvious than with the Hot Mama. It's my favorite choice for basic warm makeup looks. The formula just looks flawless without too much effort of needing to be careful to blend.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray

I got this, because apparently it's the best setting spray and I wondered, if this would make my makeup stay intact for longer and it does. It has super fine mist, which I'm not used to, since all my previous products have poorer spritzes. The scent is kind of weird and most describe it as old clothes, but I don't mind it that much. It sets makeup nice and really gets rid of the powder residue, but it also tightens your face because of the alcohol. I find that this definitely prolongs the wear of my makeup, but even in the hottest summer days, it doesn't make it look flawless for the entire day. Still, it's the best setting spray I have had so far.

Ever since I got it, I can't put it down. Partly also because my lips are feeling dry again and this is so soothing. It feels ultra comfortable, gives me enough color to pass as a liquid lipsticks and holds on like a good lip gloss. It also nourishes my lips while wearing it, so they never feel dry. Color is that perfect wearable coral that goes with pretty much anything. Oh and it smells like caramel which I love.

I got this mini travel size eau de parfum in Avon beauty box and I fell in love with this scent from the start. It's their newest addition to Far Away range (which btw had one of my all time favorite perfumes - Far Away Exotic) and it's called Rebel. I would describe it as fruity sweet fragrance that has strong notes of black currant and finishes with sweet chocolate and toffee. If you're a sweet perfume lover, you will love this one. It's right up my alley and I feel like those colder days are making me reach for those sweeter scents even more.

Review: Essence Melted Chrome Eyeshadow, Camouflage+ Matt Concealer and Soft Contouring Lipliner

$

I picked up some of the new products from Essence standard range and I've already had the chance to test them out, so here are my thoughts. I have to say, I picked well, because I like all of these products. If you don't know, Essence changes their standard range every spring and fall, so it's not the best idea to get attached to their products.

Essence Camouflage+ Matt Concealer - 020 light ivory and 030 light honey

Packaging

Catrice has Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealers and they are very popular. I guess this is Essence's version and it's surprisingly good. It comes in standard transparent plastic packaging with matte black top. Sponge applicator has a petal shape which holds a lot of product. I don't even need to go back in to cover my whole face. I prefer sponge applicators for concealers, even though they are not the most hygienic.

In it is 5 ml of product and it costs 2.99€.

Formula

It's a slightly thicker cream formula which still has nice glide to it that makes it blend out easily. It starts setting down quickly, so you don't get a lot of play time. But it also means that the coverage will be great, because you don't move all of the product away. It stays slightly tacky, so I always set it with powder, but you definitely don't need to, if you have dry skin. Finish is matte, but I don't find it too be dead looking on me. Keep in mind I have combination skin, so I don't really have problems with dry patches currently.

Coverage is buildable medium to high. You can definitely build it up without it looking too cakey. It covers well in one coat, but you'll need to apply it thicker, if you want to cover very dark circles or red blemishes.

Colors

There are only three shades available. Come on, Essence, get with the program. It's 2018 and you're products are actually really nice, so make more shades for different skin tones. Right now this is mostly made for fair to lighted medium skin tones. I got two shades out of the three, but the one I didn't get is supposedly the lightest - 10 light rose. I didn't get it, because it seemed more pink toned, so better for cool skin tones.

20 light ivory is fair to light slightly warm yellow toned shade.
30 light honey is medium warm toned shade

Now that I still have some tan, I mix both of these together to get that perfect shade that fits me the best. Usually, I would wear 20 light ivory on its own, because I'm usually about NC15 skin tone.

I also did a bit of comparison. Catrice Liquid Camouflage in 005 Light Natural is the lightest Catrice shade and it's more yellow toned. In fact Essence 20 light ivory looks pink toned compared to it. Catrice Liquid Camouflage in 020 Light Beige is again more yellow toned, but actually lighter than Essence 30 light honey. In general, Essence shades seem to be slightly more neutral, if not pink or red toned while both Catrice shades have much more pronounced yellow undertone to them.

I also compared shade 20 light ivory to all my other lighter concealer shades. It seems to dry down lighter than Catrice 005 Light Natural, so if you're fair, that's good news for you. Bipa has the lightest shade out of all of them, but it's also the most neutral toned. The Saem and MAC have similar lightness, just slightly different undertone.

Performance

Essence claims that this concealer covers tattoos. Catrice Liquid Camouflage had the same claim. I tested it out and you would need to apply a very thick layer of concealer to cover tattoo. But we all know that we usually blend concealer out and don't just apply it straight from the applicator and leave it to dry in a stripe. So, I'm saying it doesn't really cover tattoos, but it will definitely cover your dark under eye circles. That being said, Essence formula is thicker than Catrice's, so it has better coverage

These are definitely waterproof

Left: just foundation
Middle: Essence Camouflage+ Matt Concealer in 20 light ivory + 30 light honey
Right: blended out

Concealer doesn't get in fine lines, but it can look a bit cakey, if you apply too much of it. Obviously, the thicker the concealer, the more obvious it looks on the skin. I have combinations skin with very oily T zone right now and this definitely gets oily around my nose after about 3 hours. That being said, it's sets matte in the beginning, so I'm not sure if this would work with very dry skin and how it would look over dry patches. I'd say go for the Catrice version, if you have very dry skin, because it looks less obvious on the skin and feels more hydrating. I'm also not sure how this would wear on very oily skin, because in my opinion, it doesn't stay matte enough for that.

On my normal skin, it stays on for the whole day and the coverage is definitely still there at the end of the day. It just cakes up and slightly wears off on my oilier parts of the skin. I'd say bake it, if you have very oily parts on the face. This usually helps me to stay matte longer.

It has some added perfume which to me smells sort of floral and powdery. If you're sensitive to scents, keep that in mind.

Essence also added glowy version of this concealer. You can read about it on Mateja's blog.

Essence Melted Chrome Eyeshadow 02 ironic

Packaging

It comes in a flimsy transparent top plastic packaging. I have bad experiences with Essence eyeshadow packaging, usually they all break fairly quickly. There's a bit of embossing on the inside.

In it is 2 grams of product and it costs 3.39€.

Formula

At first I didn't notice it, until I broke through that top layer, but this is almost creamy formula which acts as a powder on the skin. It immediately reminded me of Colourpop Super Shock Shadows, the only difference being that these by Essence are even creamier. Definitely use an eyeshadow base with them or they might move a bit.

Pigmentation is incredible and by far the best I have tried from Essence eyeshadows so far. All of these shades have that liquid chrome glittery look to them that looks super shiny. If you lightly tap your fingers in the pan, you can apply it like a light wash of glitter. If you swipe it heavily, you get a full on metallic look

I compare it to one of the Colourpop Super Shock Shadows in Birthday Girl and as you can see, Essence is a lot more metallic and glittery looking.

Colors

So far Essence has 6 shades to choose from, I hope they come out with more. I've swatches all of them and some are more metallic and more pigmented than others. I found the most pigmented to be the most glittery ones which are 02, 04 and 05.

I got shade 02 ironic which is light bronze taupe shade with cooler silver glitter. It's by far the most neutral in terms of the shade.

Crease: Too Face Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar - Mousse + Peanut Butter
Lid and inner corner: Essence Melted Chrome 02 ironic
Liner: Clio Kill Black Brush Liner
Mascara: L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

Performance

This applies like a dream. If you want ultra metallic sheen, apply it with finger. It also applies well with flat shader brush. The fluffier the brush, the less metallic and more glittery it will look. I notice it almost creasing when my lids got extremely oily in those hot sweaty summer days, but primer usually keeps it in place. It doesn't looses intensity till the very end of the day.

My photos don't do it justice, it looks so much shinier and prettier in real life. I also stupidly forgot to take the photo of my eyes closed, but I did post photo of that on my Instagram.

Essence Soft Contouring Lipliner - 13 nice spice and 08 big proposal

I'm sure these aren't new, but I'm almost positive I saw NEW sign next to that peach shade, so it might just be that they've added some new shades. Anyways, I decided to include it in this review.

Packaging

They have standard colored pen shape. You will need to sharpen these. In them is 1.2 grams of product and the price is 1.19€.

Formula

These have softer and creamier formula, but it's definitely not super creamy like some of their older lip liners were. Pigmentation is great with just one swipe. I prefer slightly creamier formula, because it doesn't tug on the lips, so it doesn't further irritate dry lips. Finish is matte.

Colors

I'm not sure how many shades are available, because online they only have 9 shades, but there were definitely more in the store, so they must have added some new ones.

13 nice spice is light warm orange peach. This is that kind of mandarin shade that I've always wanted to try out.
08 big proposal is light mauve nude. It's that slightly cooler pink shade that looks good on most skin tones.

Performance

These are definitely not hydrating, but also don't feel particularly dry. I like to wear lip liners on their own as well. These are not the most long lasting on their own, but work nice under the lipstick.

Melted Chrome eyeshadow surprised me the most and if you love a good shiny and glittery metallic eyeshadow, I highly recommend you try at least one of them. It's so pigmented and so shiny. I secretly want all of the shades from this range, but I might just get two more wearable ones the next time I'm in the store.

Camouflage concealers were just as great. I like more matte finish for those warmer days, they last well on the skin and have really nice coverage. If you wanted better coverage and something more matte than Catrice's version, these might just be for you. I only really dislike the shade range. A drugstore product that good should have at least 10 shades.

Lip liners are nice as well and I love Essence lip liner formulas in general. Super cheap and really nice. Good quality, pigmentation and nice shade range.

Review: Essence Glitter On Glitter Off Peel Off Nail Polish - 02 razzle dazzle

$

0
I'm continuing my reviews with another Essence product that has been added to their range for this upcoming season. It's their Glitter On Glitter Off Peel Off Nail Polish. I remember Essence having a peel off base nail polish that you'd apply on the nails and then go over with a glittery nail polish. The base would suppose to just peel off, but it didn't. However, seems Essence finally figured it out, because this one definitely peels off in one piece.

Packaging

It comes in classic round glass bottle with black plastic top. Brush is straight cut and of medium length. It applies product well. In it is 8 ml of product and it costs 2.89€.

Formula

It's a slightly thicker formula that smells like glue and even looks like glue with glitter in. Actually, I am convinced that the base is definitely the same composition as glue. Formula can start drying on the brush while you're applying it on the nail and it starts to look like melted cheese, hence the glue association.

Colors

There are 6 colors available. I got 02 razzle dazzle which is almost like a neutral taupe gold It's not proper warm gold, it's more neutral toned and almost tan like. Sometimes it even looks a bit pink toned. The base is transparent and glitter in it gives off multi colored reflections. Glitter is pretty small, so it doesn't look too chunky. This shade is definitely the most neutral and wearable out of all others in the range.

Performance

It sets fairly quickly on the nails, because the formula is thicker and glue like, but it doesn't actually dry down for a while. If you apply thicker coats or apply three of them, it almost won't dry completely. I had dents the first time I applied it too thick. I'd say two thinner coats are just enough that it covers the nail well, looks even and dries down completely.

My tips looked worn off the next day and it lasted about a day on my nails and then it started lifting off at the edges. To be fair, I did use my nails a lot. If your regular nail polish lasts a long time on you, you might get away with two or three days of wearing this one. I expected it to not be long lasting, but I can forgive it that for easy removal.

It actually peels off in one piece with ease. I love glitter nail polishes, but hate wearing them, because the removal is so difficult. Usually, it involves soaking my nails, stinging my eczema skin and just being too rough with it. With this one though, it's a dream. Peel it off in the matter of seconds and you're good to go.

I absolutely love the concept. It's so easy to go for glitter nails, because you can just peel them off. It definitely needs improving on the wear time, because right now, this is more of a one night party out nail polish. The formula smells and applies like glue, but unless it'll get drier, it isn't too bad. Variation of shades is small so far, but may expand in the future. I am loving easy removal and would love to get some more shades. I have my eye on 04 spotlight on! (warm purple) and 06 glitter in the air (emerald green).

Review: Colourpop In-Nude-Endo Highlighters, 143 Shadow and On Board Glossy Lip

I always say, I'm not buying from Colourpop anymore, because of the customs, but then I'm tempted again. Colourpop is just one of those brands that I love and would love to buy more, if they had European shop. They really need to do that asap. Anyways, I got a few more bits from them, when they had a sale going on. I never buy full price for Colourpop products, because the shipping is expensive enough.

Colourpop In-Nude-Endo Pressed Powder Highlighter

I've been hearing only great reviews of this highlighter palette and I wanted something that had a nice variety of colors in one palette for a while. I heard this being compared to Anastasia Beverly Hills Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit and Hourglass Ambient Metallic Strobe Lighting Palette. It's definitely an amazing formula and lovely shade range.

Packaging

It comes in a cardboard pink packaging with gold metallic details. Closing is magnetic. It's sleek and fairly slim.

In it is 19.5 grams of product (3.25 grams in each pan) and the price is 18$.

In the shade

On direct sun

Colors

In the palette you get 6 shades. They have a nice range for different skin tones, there's maybe just missing something for very deep skin.

Glad You Came - warm pale champagne. It's warm toned, but gives you almost that cooler silver sheen on the skin.
On The Loose - warm light gold. It almost has a bit of peachiness to it and the shimmer in it is a bit chunkier.
Fine Line - neutral light champagne with intense cool silver sheen.
On Tempo - cool light rose with silver sheen. It also has hints of gold in it, but in general gives off cool sheen.
Morning After - warm light peach with rose gold sheen. This one also has a bit of those chunkier shimmer in it, but by no means it looks glittery. None of these do.
Losing Sleep - warm medium bronze with gold sheen. It has a bit of peachy undertone to it.

Formula

All of these shades have a more creamier formula that you can feel once you swatch it with fingers. On Tempo and Losing Sleep are on the next leave of creaminess. These two feel almost like creams and have the best pigmentation with just the slightest touch of a brush. The least pigmented is Morning After, because it also feels the driest. But in general, these have great pigmentation.

These highlighters are apparently formulated without the glitters that a lot of highlighters contain. That gives these shades that glossy look. As far as the shine factor goes, the most reflective is Fine Line, because of its cooler silver sheen that reminds me of Flexitarian. Next would be On Tempo which also has that cooler sheen that just shines brighter than any gold ever could. Glad You Came is much more subdued and doesn't have that crazy metallic feel to it. Morning After also looks very subtle. It has the most subdued sheen. On The Loose has great reflection, but because it's golden is not as bright. The same goes for Losing Sleep which also has that warmer gold sheen.

Comparison

I honestly can't tell a difference between Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone and Colourpop Glad You Came. They look identical as far as the shade and tone goes. Moonstone is slightly less pigmented and by that I mean that it looks sheerer on the skin. But just slightly. Moonstone also seems to have just a tad bigger shimmer in it, although both of these give off sheen without any chunks.

I also compared Colourpop Fine Line to Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian. Fine Line is definitely the closest you'll get to that famous Flexitarian sheen. Fine Line is obviously more pink toned in the base and it's not as shiny as Flexitarian, but they both have this cooler silver sheen to them that just shines bright.

From left to right: Glad You Came, On The Loose, Fine Line, On Tempo

Performance

They are very long lasting. At the end of the day, I still have pretty much the same intensity of glow on my face.

As far as the shades goes, I can wear 4 of them on my face. It may look like a darker palette, but it's still very wearable for my about NC15 to 25 skin tone. Morning After and Loosing Sleep are the only two shades that are too dark to be used as highlighters on me, so I usually wear them as an eyeshadow or you could use them as a blush topper.

Glad You Came

On The Loose

Fine Line

On Tempo

Crease: Nabla Caramel
Lid: Morning After
Inner corner: Glad You Came

Crease: Nabla Caramel, Colourpop Yes, Please! French Kiss
Lid: Loosing Sleep
Inner corner: Fine Line

I am most impressed with these because of the fact that they look almost glossy on the skin. I like those highlighters that don't have crazy pigmented base, but have really reflective sheen. And most of these look like that. As you turn towards the light, the sheen on your skin follows and almost looks like glass, but without the muddy base. I am very impressed with this palette and it's definitely hyped up for a good reason.

Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow 143

Packaging

You can buy Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadows in pans or in actual white plastic compact. I prefer pan version, because I have their empty magnetic palette in which I store them.

You get 1.5 grams of product and the pan costs 4$, while compact is 5$.

Colors

Colourpop has a huge range of shades and there's definitely something for every taste. They also have different finishes.

143 is the most perfect matte warm medium purple. It has the perfect amount of warmth to it and it looks amazing on brown eyes. I suspect it would look amazing on green eyes as well. Usually, purples tend to be cooler, but this one is just warm enough. Finish is obviously matte.

Formula

It has a drier formula, but the pigmentation is great. Obviously, you'll need to build it up to look completely opaque, because purples are notorious for being hard to formulate, especially mattes.

Performance

I always use eyeshadow primer underneath any eyeshadows. This one stays on the lid well and I didn't notice any creasing. The vibrancy also stayed nice through the whole day. In terms of blending, I didn't have any problems either, but then again I love using transitional neutral shades in the crease anyway to make the process easier.

Crease: Nabla Caramel
Lid: Colourpop 143
Eyeliner: Clio Kill Black Brush Liner
Mascara: Avon Mark SpectraLash
Inner corner: Colourpop Glad You Came + Fine Line

Highlighter: Colourpop Glad You Came + Fine Line
Blush: H&M Brown Sugar
Lips: Catrice Foundation Lipliner 030 Addicted To Cafe Au Lait

Colourpop Glossy Lip On Board

Colourpop recently added a lot of new shades to their glossy lip versions and they also changed the applicator to a brush. I wanted something really sparkly for a while, so I got one of theirs.

Packaging

It comes in a transparent plastic gloss packaging with silver details. The applicator is now short brush which applies product well, because it spreads as you put pressure on it. I didn't notice any splitting on my brush and I've had it for a while. I know this was a concern for many customers. There might be a bit more product on the brush and it's not as evenly applied as with a sponge applicator, but you can work with it. I like the brush, because I can get to the very edges of the lip.

In it is 3 grams of product and it costs 6$.

Colors

Again, Colourpop has a lot of different colors and finishes to choose from the Glossy Lip range. The latest added shades are super glossy and super shimmery.

On Board is sheer bronze shade with multicolored shimmer of blue, green and purple. Shimmer in it is tiny and once you apply it on the lips it reflect light so lovely.

Formula

Formula is creamy and extra glossy. It makes your lips look wet and glass like. You can feel a bit of those shimmer chunks, if you rub your lips together, but it doesn't feel like you're exfoliating your lips either. It's not goopy or super sticky, but it grabs onto the lips well and feels ultra comfortable. It also never dries out my lips. It must be due to the nourishing jojoba oils in it. It's probably one of the most comfortable lip gloss formulas I have tried so far.

I love that it has fudge scent to it. It smells so caramel that I almost want to eat it.

Performance

As any lip gloss formula, this stays on the lips fairly well for being a lip gloss. It sticks well to the lips, but doesn't migrate either. It also wears off fairly evenly.

You can get Colourpop products from their online shop. I only hate that they ship from US, so I have to deal with customs and the shipping is around 10$ to Slovenia, which is not cheap either. Look out for deals, they often have some nice sales going on.

I am more than pleased with my pick this time. Everything is of great quality and the price is not bad either, if you exclude hefty shipping. In-Nude-Endo highlighter palette is superb and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a variety of shades and likes those super shiny, but not chunky or glittery highlighters.

143 eyeshadows is by far the best matte warm purple I have seen so far and I'm sure I'll get a lot of wear out of it. For being purple, this is actually very pigmented formula and it wears well. I am also loving On Board lip gloss. I already used more than half of it which speaks volumes. Is super glossy, very shiny and the formula is just extra comfortable on the lips.

This time I mostly have products that I purchased or repurchased. There are also some that I bought specifically for my seaside holiday. Also included are some interesting new PR products that you can already find in stores.

Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Lotion

I love using good humectants, especially hyaluronic acid under my regular moisturizers to get the maximum hydrating effect. My skin is usually combination, more normal in the winter time, but I still think hydration is key with any type of skin. I've been using The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5, but I really wanted something lighter in texture for the summer. So I read a lot about this Hada Labo version and when Mateja also talked about it, I decided to get it from Ebay.

It's transparent, non fragranced, almost watery type of lotion or you can even think of it as tonic. Supposedly, it contains four versions of hyaluronic acid. The Ordinary version is much more viscose and thicker, while this one by Hada Labo literally feels like slightly thicker water. It absorbs much faster and feels like nothing on the skin. I definitely think it made a difference with hydrating my skin and I didn't notice it clogging my pores. It's super light and perfect for summer time or those with combination and oily skin. Usually I use it after toner and before moisturizer.

I got 30 ml version, which looks tiny, but you really just need two drops of this. I've had it for about two months and I didn't even use half of it. Original size comes in a huge bottle, so this will last you for a long time. Well worth the money, although I might try some other Asian versions next.

Nivea Moisturizing Micellar Shampoo*

This was one of those surprising Nivea products that really impressed me. I even featured it in my July favorites. It's a transparent gel type of texture that leathers really well. It's formulated without silicons, parabens and dyes. Micellar claim should mean that it cleans the hair well and nourishes your scalp as well as hair lengths. I like it so much, because it cleans my hair well, but doesn't make them ultra smooth. I have fine hair, so I like a bit of grip and volume and this shampoo gives it to me, but still cleans it well and makes my hair feel moisturized. I also didn't notice my hair getting greasy quicker, which can sometimes happen with those shampoos intended for dry hair. The scent is fresh and almost a bit sleepy soothing, which I also really like. The fact that this comes in a huge 400 ml bottle for about 3€ with pop up top is another plus. This has really impressed me among the drugstore shampoos and I might even repurchase it.

Nivea LE Fabulous Hibiscus Care Shower*

This is another Nivea product that I loved. It's a pink colored gel formula. I especially liked it, because it had a nice greasy slip to it. Which meant that it didn't dry out my skin, like most perfumed shower gels tend to do. It almost left a bit of nourishing layer on my skin which wasn't oily in any way. The scent reminded me of cranberries with added herbal layer which should be hibiscus. I believe it was limited edition, but you might still find it in stores.

Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask Snail

I've had Ceramide and Hyaluronic Acid versions of those Etude House sheet masks before, but then I read about Snail version on Mateja's blog, so I got it the next time it was on sale on Jolse. Two to be exact. I'm preparing a separate review only about Asian sheet masks that I have tried so far, so I won't go into details now. But it's a fairly thin sheet mask with a nice fit and I like the essence. It felt hydrating and nourishing. I only used one of them and it was when I came from holiday and was breaking out heavily. Snail is supposedly great for healing the skin.

My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask

This is a repurchase, as I've had it before, but didn't write a separate review yet. Again, I also heard about this mask from Mateja. It also has fairly thin sheet, floral scent and it's the best, if you're looking for something really brightening. This definitely evened and brightened my skin tone. The effect was quite amazing, although it does fade after a while.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Anti-shine Dry Touch Gel-Cream

I've been seeing this one on other blogs and since I always had the Fluid Ultra-Light version and thought the finish was a bit too sheeny, I decided to get this one. I don't like it at all. The formula is very thick and very white. It is so difficult to spread it and I feel like I just end up using more product, because I can spread it all over. It has more of a matte finish, that's for sure, but because it's so thick, it feels much heavier than the ultra light liquid version. I have to use it now, because it was expensive, but I will not repurchase it.

DM Sun Dance Aloe Vera Apres Gel

This is a hydrating after sun gel and I bought it for my holiday. I chose this version because of the huge 300 ml size and the ingredients list, which has aloe vera on the second place right after water. Most of the aloe vera after sun lotions had everything else in, but the actual aloe vera. It has pump on the top, which makes it very easy to use. Formula is gel like, slightly green colored and it spreads with ease. It soaks in fast, but leaves a bit of sticky feel to it which stays for a while. The scent is fresh and almost herbal. I still use it as my regular body lotion. You'll like this one, if you hate greasy feel on the skin and just want something that is hydrating, but unseen on the skin.

DM Balea Professional After Sun Shampoo Spülung 2in1

I get this version of shampoo each year for my seaside holiday. It's shampoo and conditioner in one. I like it, because it really cleans my salty hair and it makes them soft and smooth. It leathers really well and has nice sweet scent. This is super cheap, so I don't feel guilty slathering this on every evening while trying to wash out the salt.

Nivea Sun Protect & Bronze SPF 30

Nivea is my usual go to for body SPF, because I like their textures. Sometimes, I get DM Balea versions too. This year, I opted for this one, while I usually had the oily version. But that one felt a bit too shiny on me and I always got burnt. In my head, shiny oily layer was to blame, since shine attracts sun. So I got milky version this year and I felt like it protected better, although I still got some burns. White milky texture was easy to spread and it felt nicely moisturizing too, but not greasy. It sank into the skin well and I wasn't left with any white masks. Nivea also improved their sun screens to prevent staining of clothes and I definitely think it worked. Usually my black swimsuits were grey by the end of the holiday, but not this time.

I've already reviewed this. It's basically a peel off glitter nail polish that peels off in one layer. This is a lovely taupe gold shade that almost looks slightly pink toned in certain lights.

I've also already posted review of all of these products. Matt concealer has great coverage and matte finish. I actually got two shades (another one is on other photo down below). It's great drugstore priced concealer. I love Essence lip liners in general and these are just as good. great creamy formula and nice wearable colors. I was most impressed with Melted Chrome eyeshadows, because the pigmentation is amazing and it has that proper metallic sheen.

I buy these ever since Catrice came out with them. It's my constant purchase, because I love the shade range. Usually I get 020 Date With Ash-ton which is a nice grey based medium brown, but I decided to get one of the new shades too. 045 Never Be ASHamed is that proper really grey medium brown. It's much more grey than it is brown. It's also the most similar to my natural brow color, but because I have warm colored hair, I usually go with something warmer. The formula of these is creamy, but also a bit harder. You can use this to quickly fill or color in your entire brow.

Another repurchase. This is the best covering concealer I have tried so far. It could come in a bigger size, but I love this for under the eyes, because I don't have to constantly build it up to cover everything. It's slightly thicker in formula and dries down to a matte finish.

I already had this version and I liked it so much that I repurchased it again. It's a great spray that has milky white texture, but doesn't leave any white marks on my clothes. It has a nice floral powdery scent to it and doesn't irritate my skin, because it also doesn't contain any alcohol. I really like this LE packaging.

Zoeva 110 Face Shape Brush

I got this one mostly because Lisa Eldridge always use it to blend out foundation. This is actually very small brush and I don't like using it for foundation, because it's time consuming, unless you have a light coverage foundation that spreads easily. But I absolutely love this for applying liquid highlighter. It fits that space perfectly and blends it out nicely. I also like this for cream blush or blending out cream contour. You could also use it to blend out concealer. In general Zoeva has super soft good quality bristles and I like them for that.

I already reviewed these two and I like them both. Dewy-ful Lips is like a lip gloss, liquid lipstick and lip balm hybrid. It's the most comfortable formula ever and it gives you just enough coral color. I adore it. Brow mascara is just as nice. It has really small wand that brushes your hair nicely and really fills in your brows. This is great for those quick makeup looks when you just don't have time to use three products on your brows.

It's rare that I repurchase foundation. I'll only do it, if I really like it and I love this one. So I repurchased it. This is probably my favorite summer foundation, because it's liquid in texture, feels lightweight on the skin, but still gives you nice medium coverage and satin matte finish.

Nivea Make-up Care Expert Hydra Primer Make Up Base*

Nivea is extending its range on all sides of spectrum. I was curious to see them come out with a primer. It's actually like a hydrating moisturizer with some silicon smoothing primer properties. It looks like a regular white colored light cream, but once you start to massage it in, you feel that ultra smooth silicon feel that most primer have. Only this one feels moisturizing as well. It absorbs very quickly and has strong perfumed scent to it. I haven't used it enough to report how I like it, but the texture so far is nice and I feel like I would love this in the winter.

These are all repurchases. As much as I love Eyebrow Stylist, I also love Slim'matic version for going in on those bolder spots and for perfecting the edges. It's very creamy which means I use it up quickly, but it also has nice pigmentation and the color is just grey enough. I also repurchased one of my all time favorite nude lip liner shades - 030 Addicted to Cafe Au Lait. It's the perfect light peach pink nude shade that has creamy formula and matte finish. I really like this shade range.

Nivea Hyaluron Cellular Filler Intensive Treatment Concentrated Hyaluronic Acid*

As I've mentioned in the beginning, hyaluronic acid is becoming one very popular ingredient. Nivea made their own version of hyaluronic acid treatment. In the box you get two ampules of the treatment that should last your for 2 weeks, so each ampule for one week. You're suppose to use it in the morning and evening before your regular moisturizer to boost hydrating effects. This should help the production of skin's own hyaluronic acid and collagen as well as hydrate the skin. Obviously hydrating effect also helps with minimizing wrinkles and fine lines. I've started testing this right away and I put Hada Labo version on the side for now. So far I can tell you that this is milky white liquid that has some slip to it. It feels a bit nourishing on the skin and is not as light as Hada Labo version, but it sinks in well and it also has perfumed soothing scent to it. I'll report back on it when I use up both ampules.

Noelle Makeup Brush Case and Noelle Makeup Brush 19

I saw this brand when I was in Varaždin (Croatia) and because it was so inexpensive, I decided to try some. When you say to me, pick a brush, I usually go with the one that looks like blending brush, because I just feel there's never enough of these. This one is called simply 19 and it's super soft. I want it to be slightly denser, because now it feels a bit flimsy on the lid. I can't use this in the crease, but it's almost a bit too fluffy for blending too. I have to play with it more to see how it works best. However, I love that brush case. It's well made, feels sturdy and the material is nice too. I got it in light pink color. It closes on the sides and when you open it, you can store your brushes in it. I find the size to be perfect for all those basic essentials.

Wet n Wild Megaglo Contouring Palette Contour - Dulce De Leche

I was also excited to find a full stand of Wet n Wild products in Varaždin. We don't have that brand in physical stores here and I've always wanted to see some products in person. Unfortunately, there were no testers. I remembered Kathleenlight raving about this particular shade and even though it looked suspiciously warm in the store, I still got it. I don't like it. Contour shade is too warm for my liking and it has a ton off kick up. It also doesn't blend well. I expected something much better. But the highlight shade is really nice. It also has a lot of kick up, but it actually brightens up my under eyes nicely. I mostly got it for the contour though, so I'm kind of sad it doesn't work. I'll try to work with it a bit more.

Balea Straffende Hydrogel Gesichts Maske (Hydrogel Face Mask)

I've seen these in DMs before and I loved the design, but never got them, because previous versions disappointed me. But then Mateja wrote about it and decided to try it. I got the black lace face version. So far, I've only had sheet masks, so this hydrogel formula was new to me.

It has protective plastic layer on both sides of the hydrogel, although my still got wrinkly in the bag. The mask has two parts, one for the nose and forehead and one for the chin and lip. Gel is very slippery and the essence almost drips down which means the mask was slowly sliding down from my face too. But you just place it back up and it's good, although annoying little. It has gorgeous black lace design. Eye and lip holes are too big for my personal taste, but the width and nose length fit well.

Essence is transparent and lightweight. It feels hydrating and looks just slightly viscose. On the skin it felt soothing and cooling. After I took it off, my skin was slightly tacky, it looked brighter and more even toned. I had a slight sheen on my skin. This is definitely moisturizing as well as a bit nourishing. As the essence was fully drying down, I did feel my skin tightening a bit, but in general the look of the skin was lovely. I would definitely repurchase it. It was said to be LE, but one of my Instagram followers Eliza informed me that in Germany it's now in stock permanently, so I'm assuming it will be in the regular range here too.
