Review: Morphe Brushes Standard Individual Eye Shadow - ES69 Starlight

I've had this eyeshadow for a year and a half, but I never wrote a review, so here it is. I love eyeshadows and I want to try as many different brands as possible to determine which I like the most. Eyeshadow palettes are good, but sometimes you want an individual shade to complete your selection of shades.

Morphe Brushes eyeshadows come in a pan with a black paper packaging. In the pan is 1.5 grams of product and the price is 2.29$ on Morphe site. I bought it on Beauty Bay and at the time it cost me only 2.70€, because it was on sale. The size of eyeshadows is comparable to pressed shadows by Colourpop, but cheaper in prize.

At the time these shadows were on sale and most of the shades were already gone, so I chose the one colorful shade that I thought I would wear and I definitely like having it in my collection. Especially for summer time. ES69 Starlight is a shimmery medium warm yellow gold shade. It's on the darker side and it has a bit of that muddy ochre yellow tint to it. I would almost say it's more yellow than gold.

It's actually a unique shade in my collection. I don't have anything similar, so I didn't compare it to anything. Most of my golds are more subtle and not nearly as yellow toned.

Formula of this shade is a bit wet to the touch and the pigmentation is actually really nice. With one swipe the shade is slightly sheerer, but as soon as you apply a second coat over it, it gets fully opaque. It looks quite intense on the eyes and has a lovely sheen.

It reminds me the most of my shimmery shades from Too Faced, but those have a lot more wetter formula. Morphe is a lot drier compared to Too Faced, but the pigmentation is quite similar.

I can wear this the whole day and it doesn't crease with eye primer underneath and doesn't noticeably fade either. I have to say the quality is definitely amazing for the price. I've heard that Morphe eyeshadows and eyeshadow palettes are really popular and I wanted to try at least one shade for myself. I've also read that apparently individual eyeshadows have better quality than palettes, but I wouldn't know that. They might have changed the formula since the last time I researched it.

I created a look with classic brown tones, but obviously you can go really colorful with it, especially now in the summer.

I also used this eyeshadow in my Yellow And Purple Summery Eyes makeup look.

I really wanted to try out Morphe eyeshadows and it didn't disappoint me. The quality is definitely good. Pigmentation is really nice, it stays on the lid all day, applies easily and looks good. The price point is also amazing. I have a few eyeshadow palettes and I also buy individual shades that I don't already own, but don't want to buy a whole palette just for that one or two shades. So if you're like me, I would definitely recommend you checking out these. I was skeptical of the quality, but it's there.

Review: Avon True Nutra Effects Miracle Glow Lightweight Cleansing Oil

I was really excited to see Avon came out  with cleansing oil and I bought it as soon, as I could. Avon later sent me one, so I am hooked for a while. Cleansing oils have been getting more popular and I see more brands doing it, which I like. I use cleansing oils in my evening skin care routine to take off the bulk of my makeup. Then I go in with a gel cleanser to remove any last bits of it.

Avon oil comes in a plastic transparent bottle with a screw on white plastic top. In it is 125 ml of product and the regular price is 7€. Currently it's on offer for 4.50€here

Avon True Nutra Effects Miracle Glow Lightweight Cleansing Oil should effectively clean the skin, get rid of makeup, keep skin glowing and leave skin non-greasy. Avon also describes it as lightweight, doesn't congest pores, soap free, suitable for sensitive skin and free of parabens and dyes

In the ingredients list I spot a few oils, but the main oil is canola oil.

The packaging has a small hole through which I basically shake out a few drops of oil. I feel like four is enough to use on the whole face. But you need more oil than you might expect, because it's so lightweight.

It has a runny thin consistency that feels really lightweight on the skin, but gives you just enough slip and grease to massage makeup off. I like that it doesn't feel greasy on the skin at all. Once it gets in touch with the water, it turns into a milky while consistency that washes off easily. You can see foundation dripping of your face.

I tried removing waterproof eyeliner and it did that too, but you'll need to really massage it into that long lasting makeup to break it off. In general it works and takes off all the makeup with little effort.

I tried to remove eye makeup a few times and I didn't notice stinging my eyes, but then I tried this again once and it definitely did. I wasn't careful with removing it and it got into my eyes. They sting a little, but the feeling went away as soon as I washed it off. It also creates a bit of a blurry vision like most cleansing oils. The effect is temporary.

I have to point out that on the label it says to avoid eye contact and to rinse it off, if that occurs. So I'm assuming this is not intended to be used for eye makeup removal. I personally prefer removing my eye makeup with Bioderma and use cleansing oils only for face makeup. For that it works great. If you're planing on using it for eye makeup remover as well, I would advise you to stay away, since it's not the most appropriate for that. Avon warns you itself.

After you wash it off, there's no greasy layer on the face, but it also doesn't feel drying. It's that perfect lightweight oil that removes makeup well. I would still go in with a second cleanse to really get it all off though.

I've been using it for about a month now and it didn't clog my poresor cause any breakouts. It's also sensitive skin approved, just don't get in your eyes.

It has a very subtle scent which is actually the same as their Avon Nutra Effects Miracle Glow Lightweight Facial Oil. The scent is gentle and sort of sweet. It reminds me of white grapes for some reason.

This oil has been working out great for me and my skin. I love that it's so lightweight, but gets rid off makeup well, doesn't leave a greasy layer and is good for sensitive skin as well. You do need to use a bit more of it in order to really melt off all the makeup and I wouldn't recommend you to remove eye makeup with it. The price is actually good in my opinion (especially when it's on offer), even though Balea Cleansing Oil is a lot cheaper. This one by Avon feels just a bit more refined in formula and it's not as greasy as Balea.

Summery Copper

I could just name this my go to makeup look, because this is what I wear most of the time. It's just enough of that warm copper color to reflect those gold sparks in my eye color and it's still very wearable and subdued in a way.

I started my eye makeup by building up that warmth. I started with mixing yellow toned matte brown and a pastel peach to define the crease. Then I used medium peach shade with redish brown and further defined outer corner of that crease. To add another layer of depth to the outer V, I added even darker redish brown. I wanted the crease to be just as warm as the lid.

Then I put on the lid a shimmery copper shade. This ties so well with all that warm matte base on top of it. Makes it look kind of monochromatic, but with some depth. I decided on brown liquid liner to keep in this warm theme. Around the lower lash line I used the same shades, but skipped shimmer copper one.

I applied brown mascara as well and added light golden shimmery highlight shade in the inner corners.

For my face I also used my most used products and colors. I started with foundation, concealer and a bit of powder. I'm trying to cut down on powder all over the face as it can make my skin look too cakey in those summer months. Just go with the glow, is my mantra these days. I also chose a warm toned bronzer with a bit of sheen, shimmery peach blush and a golden highlight.

My lips have been a bit dry these days, so I opted for something glossy, but in that same warm peachy tone. I used a mixture of nude and peach lipstick with lots of creamy shine. When my lips are not as dry, I go for a matte peachy brown lip or an orange based red. This eye look works with many different variations and finishes of orange toned colors.

I have certain looks that I always go to, but I don't always share them with you. So I thought I should as these looks are my most worn and they reflect my personal style. What are your got to makeup looks for summer?

Review: L'Oreal Colorista Effects Balayage And Washout Peach

$

I have been coloring my hair since I was about 14 years old. It started with wash off foams, a few highlights here and there and all the way up to experimenting with permanent colors. My natural hair color is what I call cool mousy grey brown. Some may even call it dark blond. Obviously I hate that color. If you know my makeup style, you know I'm all about warm tones and that's how I like my hair as well. Anyway, I saw that L'Oreal launched a huge Colorista range. You get effects colors, which are permanent and you can choose among balayage, ombre or bleach. Then there are temporary colors in a spray (last you only one day), washout temporary colors and permanent colors. You can also get a fader shampoo which washes out temporary color quicker - which I don't get the point of using, unless you're really unsatisfied with your result. I was intrigued and tried out Balayage as well as Peach Washout color.

L'Oreal Colorista Balayage

I've always wanted those effortless looking highlights in my hair and always felt like hair dressers near me don't know how to do it or I was afraid of what color it would come out. In general, I have trust issues with hair dressers and I prefer experimenting myself, so that I have no one else to blame but me. Brands previously had these types of ombre colors, but this one seemed a bit less harsh. I don't want to ruin my hair completely, because my hair is in general very fine and prone to damage.

It comes in a white paper box with a holographic design. The design is modernly minimalistic, just enough informative and definitely eye catching with that holo effect.

In the box you get developer cream (60 ml), lightening cream (20 ml), lightening powder (18 g), brush applicator, gloves and conditioner (I forgot to include some on the photo). The price in Slovenia is 7.49€.

The brush has three rows of bristles, which are silicone and really bendable. I guess the comb is designed to give you that balayage natural look by just putting it on your hair and pulling it downwards. I wouldn't know, because I don't believe you can create a natural look with that. That's why I got my boyfriend to color the hair and I chose the balayage technique that Guy Tang uses. Btw if you need some hair inspo, you should definitely check out his YouTube channel. If I could, I would scrap up my last savings and go to his salon.

These balayage sets are sort of like a pre-step before applying on washout colors. You can use balayage to create natural highlights, ombre to get a more intense color or bleach to completely blank out your natural color. After that they of course advise you to apply one of those washout colors for a more fun colorful effect.

I have to apologize for my photos. I work with natural lighting which changes often and I took photos myself, so it may not be perfect. But I think you can still see the before and after effect.

I usually use Golden Brown color (Garnier Olia 5.3) for my hair and I've recently just been coloring my roots, so the length of the hair has been kind of washed out, a bit lighter golden brown than usual. On that base my boyfriend applied balayage color. The highlights started a few centimeters from the root to look more natural. I should state that I only used half of the color, because I wanted a really light effect and because my hair is shorter and very fine. The color itself is quite thicker and is nice to apply. It won't drip down at all.

I left it on for about 25 minutes. On the box it says to leave it on 25 to 35 minutes. If you want the color to be lighter, leave it on longer.

I hope you can see the difference. I got very natural looking highlights and they were more concentrated at the ends. The color that came out was like a golden yellow strawberry blond color. It's actually the same color that I get once my hair color either washes out or gets lighter naturally on the sun. I usually come home from beach holiday looking almost blond, but very yellow or as some would say brassy.

Be realistic when buying this color. It will either react with your natural color and pigment in your hair or with that base color that you have. Because I have golden brown color, I got golden highlights. If you have a lot of red pigment in your hair, you'll probably get warm highlights as well. I think it's unrealistic to expect that perfectly toned cool blond color from it. For that I would advise you to get it done by a professional.

It did make my hair slightly dry, which happens with most stronger hair colors. Especially ends, but I didn't see a lot of damage, which was nice. My hair is a bit more tangled now, which I assume is due to some damage, but it's definitely not bad and not really visible.

Btw the hair conditioner that comes with these hair colors is the bomb. Always keep it and reuse it the next time you're washing your hair.

L'Oreal Colorista Washout Peach

Washout colors are inviting you with colorful hair models and simplistic design. There is 13 shades to choose from and you literally get all you could possibly want - mint, pink, lilac, blue, turquoise and many more variations. Some are pastel and some are slightly darker designed for darker hair. These should only stay on your hair for a few washes about a week or two, depending on how often you wash your hair.

It comes in a much smaller paper box, because there is just one main product inside and that is the actual hair color in a pretty peach plastic tube. With the box you also get set of two gloves, one for applying the color and one for using when you're washing it off.

You get 80 ml of color for the price of 7.49€

In the tube is 80 ml of color and I think this is too small amount to use on your whole hair, even if you have it as short as I. I used only one tube and came out with a bit uneven result. It might just be due to a non-permanent color formula, but I think I would need two tubes to perfectly cover every strand of my hair. But then again, L'Oreal had it designed to only be applied on top of that highlights that you create with effect colors.

I also got my boyfriend to apply this color as well, from the roots to the ends. I just wanted the same wash effect all through the hair, because I knew it won't be that visible, since I didn't have as light base as I should have for a pastel peach color.

This cream is darker peach shade when it comes out and it's thinner and a lot wetter. It won't drip and you can definitely apply it yourself, because it's not meant to look perfect. It also has a built in conditioner, so there's very little chance of damaging your hair with it. It's definitely very gentle to use on all hair types.

I left it on my hair for 25 minutes. It says to leave pastel colors on for 15 to 20 minutes. While I was washing it out, it felt like I was washing out hair conditioner - which is actually what it was, just a tinted one. My hair was ultra smooth. You definitely don't need to use any conditioner after using this. The hair is left hydrated and smooth.

Hair color showed up more on some strands and less on others. As I said, I think this is due to the fact that I would need two tubes to completely cover every hair. I got slightly yellow toned golden highlights, some looked light orange peachy coloredand some looked a bit more pinkish peach colored (coral). I guess a proper peach color is a mix of orange and pink and that's how my hair came out. Obviously the color is lighter over those highlights from balayage and darker on my other hair.

I actually liked the color, it screamed fall to me. I've had copper hair many times, but this color has a tint of pink in it, although it's still very much a golden peach. I think it would look coral on proper blond hair.

Since I've applied this color, I've washed my hair two times and it has mostly washed off. I'm back to my balayage result. There's a hint of peach color here and there, if I look really closely, but mostly it's all gone. So the 2 to 3 shampoo claim on the box is right.

I also did a compilation of photos. From left to right: my previous golden brown color, my hair with added highlights from balayage color and my hair with peach washout color all over.

As I said the lighting is different in all three photos, but I hope you see the main difference. I think my phone picks up color difference better than my camera. Again from left to right: my golden brown color, added balayage highlights and added peach color.

Here are my final thought for those of you that got through that. I just wanted to be informative, because I sometimes search for hair color reviews and there are none. Hopefully mine is a bit helpful.

L'Oreal Colorista Balayage

If you've always wanted to add subtle highlights to your hair, but didn't want to damage it too much, I recommend you to check out this set. Keep in mind that you don't know what kind of lighter colors you'll get, unless you've already experimented with hair colors. I assume it will mostly come out warmer yellow blond shade, unless you have a very cool natural undertone to your hair. It's not too damaging - my copper hair colors usually did even more damage than this one. It's permanent effect, so don't do it, if you don't want it to last. You can obviously apply another color over it, if you don't like it, and it would look just slightly lighter as a base. The price point is also not bad for the effect and the fact that there's enough product in it, to do a subtle highlights all through your hair.

L'Oreal Colorista Washout Peach

The color that is shown on the box is pretty accurate, but will look like that only if you have a proper almost bleached out blond base. Otherwise this will just look like a slight tone of peach on top of your base color. I think it won't show up on medium to dark hair. In my opinion this is overpriced, because you get a small amount of color (especially if you want to apply it all over your hair) and it's a washout, which means the effect will only last you for about 2 to 3 washes. To me this is too expensive to experiment with a lot. I think L'Oreal could easily priced it at like 4€ and they would have the income they want and we would experiment more. But obviously they saw the appeal of it and the fact that people would want to use it, so they overpriced it, knowing it would sell out anyway. I would rather buy a permanent color for that effect, because washout color is not that noticeable on hair that is not bleached and it doesn't last either. It's more of a special occasion fun color to do or something that you can try on before getting a permanent color to see if those kind of colors even suit you.

I also hate the fact that these colors are sold only in certain DMs. In Murska Sobota no DM has it, the nearest one that has it is in Gornja Radgona. You might as well go to Austria for it - I saw it in Bipa. I don't get their logic on deciding which stores would have it and which won't. Kind of confusing. Here is the list of DMs in Slovenia that sell this Colorista range.

I'm glad that brands are coming out with these fun colors and it's nice to experiment, but I just wish these fun colored washout colors would be lower priced. These are also more or less designed only for blond hair, it kind of defeats the purpose on anything darker than blond. I guess I think they're really fun and unharmful, but just overpriced for a hair color. But grab those effects kits, if you've always wanted to experiment with highlighting your hair. If you do it right, the results look really natural.

Bronzy

I have a fair skin tone, but once I go on vacation to the sea, the sun always tans me a bit. I reapply SPF often and use SPF 30 on my body, but somehow still get pretty tanned. My face stays almost the same color as I use SPF 50 and wear a hat. This is the only time in the whole year that I have a chance to try out darker foundations and really play up that bronzed makeup look that I love so much. So I decided to do just that, another bronzy makeup look. I just love these shades so much.

I kept the eye makeup pretty simple with just a few shades. On the crease and a bit above it I used a mixture of warm brown and a yellow brown. I usually keep my crease colors matte to give it more depth. Then I applied shimmery darker gold shade on the lid and blended it a bit into my crease. Because the eyeshadow colors are warm and light, I wanted to add definition with a softer brown liquid liner. I extended the wing out and made it a bit more elongated looking.

I applied the same mixture of matte browns around the lower lash line. In the inner corner I used a champagne light gold shimmer shade, which I also used as a highlighter on the face. I also used brown mascara to keep the look in that warm softer scheme.

The eye makeup is warm and it reflects that sun glow from the summer. It looks simple, yet dimensional.

When you have a natural tan and you're trying to mimic this on your face, use a bronzer that has a slight redish undertone. I mixed one more greyish redish toned bronzer with a shimmery yellow toned bronzer to get that perfect natural sun tanned look. If you keep it completely matte, it won't look as natural, so use a bronzer that has a bit of natural sheen to it. Highlighter will look amazing on darker complexion and I applied it on tops of the cheeks, above the brow arch, on the center of the nose and on my upper lip. I chose a champagne golden color with small shimmer. For this look I skipped blush, because I wanted it to look very natural glowy and bronzed. Blush would distract from that bronzy look. But if you have a more redish fresh sunburn, then incorporate a bit of natural pink blush to make it look more realistic.

To bring this look out and make it really vibrant for that summer feel, I used a bright orange toned red. You can choose which ever bright red shade suits you most. To keep the look more effortless looking, I applied lipstick with my finger and almost made it look smudged. Keeping the outer line softer will make you look more modern and playful.

Gold and orange are my favorite colors and this makeup reflects the kind of makeup colors that I like the most. It compliments sun kissed tan and makes you look naturally glowy.

Review: Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow - 02 Stars & Stories

I am all for glittery and shimmery eyeshadows and when I first swatched this one in the store, I knew I had to get it. I've said in my review of Catrice Liquid Metal Longlasting Cream Eyeshadow in 020 Champagne Shower that I really wish they'd make this version with glitter in it. I guess that's what they tried to do with these new Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadows (or at least with some). The glitter is much more visible here.

Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadows come in a plastic transparent lip gloss like packaging with a black plastic top and silver details. In it is 3.5 ml of products and it costs 3.79€.

It has that fluffy lip gloss applicator which looks like a cone shape from the sides. It's diagonally cut. With one coat you can coat your entire lid and it applies eyeshadow softly and fairly evenly

The texture of it is creamy and quite spreadable. It almost feels like a moussy texture

If you apply it heavily, you get a very opaque metallic finish. You can also blend it out and it looks like a metallic base with more pronounced shimmer or small glitter. If you apply it very sheer, you get mostly glitters and just a bit of that metallic sheen. The pigmentation is in general great

It has an artificial scent to it, but you don't notice it once it's on the lid.

The color 02 Stars & Stories is a cool toned taupe based purple with silver glitter. In the packaging it looks like a warmer mix of brown and purple, but on the lid it looks very cool toned, because it has strong silver glitter and shimmer in it which gives it that cool sheen. The base looks like a taupe tinted purple.

You can chose among 7 different shades, although some don't have as much glitter in them. Mostly they are more metallic than shimmery.

Once this dries down, it doesn't move. It didn't even crease on me and it stayed on for the whole day perfectly, so it's very long lasting - but not water proof at all. There is also no glitter fallout.

Here you can see how it looks like applied really heavily. You can definitely get that opaque metallic shimmery look. I'm afraid my photos don't do it justice. This sparkles so pretty in person that the camera just doesn't catch its true beauty.

I almost prefer to wear it applied lightly. I usually put it on the back of my hand and use my fingers to apply it on the lid. I also sheer it out, so that I get a lot of glittery particles and it looks much more shimmery and less metallic. Obviously you can also put this on top of other shadows to add glitter. I did that a lot too.

On this photo I applied it very sheer on the lid and then I also applied it as an opaque metallic liner on top of black eyeshadow liner. Just to give you an idea how this can look different depending on how you apply it. It also works as a shimmery inner highlight.

I have been wearing it a lot ever since I got it, which means I really like it. I've wanted a cheaper brands to come out with some glittery or shimmery eyeshadows that look pigmented and don't have a fallout and this is just that. It's like a less shimmery affordable choice for Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadows. It applied lovely, you can choose how metallic or shimmery you want it to look, it lasts all day and doesn't move. I am particularly in love with this shade, because it has a stronger shimmer or glitter to it. If this was a regular metallic eyeshadow, I wouldn't care for it. It just looks really luxurious on the lid with very little effort. Essence definitely did it with these and I highly recommend you to get this shade, if you like glittery and shimmery eyeshadows that don't move or loose intensity.

Unfortunately, the summer is almost over. So I'm trying to post reviews of summer body products that I loved using. Avon has a Avon Sun+ range with sunscreen, self-tan and after sun products. Something to use on holiday or when you want people to think you've been on holiday.

Avon Sun+ Magic Tan Self-Tan Bronzing Mousse With Firming Complex

It comes in a plastic bronzed bottle with a transparent plastic top. On top is a pump with fairly huge opening that turns liquid that's inside the bottle into a mousse consistency as it comes out.

In it is 150 ml of product and the regular price is 8€

This is a basic mousse self tanner. I am not a tanning guru. Actually, I very rarely self tan, so I don't know much about this topic, but I've heard mousse is the most natural looking. From any brand, mousse consistency in general that is.

As you push it out, it transforms the liquid into a mousse texture. If you're like me and you're afraid to mess up the application, use a tanning mitt. Which is basically a sponge glove that you put on your hands and apply self tan with. I use the one from Kiko. It is the best way of getting a flawless and even application.

My experience with Avon mousse is that you need the tinniest amount possible, if you are as fair as me. I am about NC15 in my winter time (although I get really tanned naturally while being on the sun). I use one pump of this for example for my one half of the leg, one pump for my other upper part of the leg, one pump for my stomach and so one. Just use it sparely to get the most natural looking result.

The mousse blends into the skin lovely and leaves no visible layer on the skin. It sinks in well. It has a tropical artificial scent to it, which makes for a nicer application. Not gonna lie, you do notice a bit of that burnt self tan scent the next day, but it's actually really subtle.

I applied this in the evening and then let it dry for about 20 minutes before getting dressed up and going to bed. In the morning I had an even subtle tan. I only had a bit of streaky legs, which was my fault, as I didn't apply it carefully enough. But the rest of my body was fine. I did use it again that next day. Two applications are more than enough for a light skin to get a natural looking and not too dark tan.

This gave me a warm toned kind of yellow tinted tan. I have naturally a warm undertone in my skin tone and I naturally tan warmer too. I get a more yellow tinted natural tan which can turn olive. So this shade suited me perfectly and looked natural on me. Obviously, if you are very fair and have a natural cool undertone, this will look too warm on you.

The amount should last your for about 8 to 10 full body applications, if you apply it lightly like I did.

Avon Sun+ Magic Tan Moisturizing Self-tan Lotion For Face And Body - Light/Medium

It comes in a plastic bronze tube packaging. The opening is small.

In it is 150 ml of product and the regular price is 8€.

It has a liquid lotion pearly white consistency with small gold shimmer in it. I don't really get the shimmer, I'd like it more, if it was without that. Not that it's really noticeable, it's just unnecessary.

I've only used this on my face, so I can't say how it works on the body (as I said, I rarely use these products), but I've heard some say that this can look a lot more uneven. So I'd say stick to the mousse for your body.

I mixed it in with my moisturizer - the tinniest bit possible - and applied it on my face with a face brush. This gave me a really subtle bronzed kind of look in the morning. I just wanted something to even out my skin on the face to somewhat match my tan on the body. It didn't look the most even, but the effect was really subtle, because I used so little. I probably wouldn't use this on my body as I feel it just doesn't apply as evenly as mousse. Or maybe I don't know how to apply it evenly.

It also has that tropical fragrance to it, but it's a lot less noticeable and not as pleasant as with the mousse.

Avon Sun+ After Sun Soothing After Sun Body Butter

It comes in a plastic light blue pot. The top is a screw on. Not the most practical, but it's doable.

In it is 200 ml of product and the regular price is 7.90€.

This is an after sun body butter that should keep your skin moisturized and prevent the peeling, if you've been sunburnt.

I've been using this on my vacation while I was by the sea and I'm glad to report, there was no peeling of my skin, even though I did get a bad sunburn one day.

It has a thicker white creamy consistency. It's not as hard to the touch as most body butters are. To me this is like a mix between a body butter and a cream. It needs a bit of massaging to completely soak into the skin and not leave behind a white cast, but it's spreadable enough, so that it's not hard to do. On the skin it leaves a matte finish with a slight sheen that you can feel on the skin as a moisturizing barrier. It also feels a bit soothing, almost like it's colder than the usual body lotions. Or maybe that's just due to the fact that it's colder in temperature than your body.

The scent is artificial subtle sleepy. It reminds me of shea butter. Shea butter extract is among the ingredients, so it might be what I'm smelling and since I hate shea butter natural scent, I'm not a fan of this one either. But I can live with it. It doesn't bother me too much.

It was impossible for me to take a photo of before and after, because I work with natural lighting, which is different every day. But I still wanted to post two photos. One from before is taken inside, so obviously it's darker and the after is taken with a phone on direct sun. But you can still probably notice the difference in darkness of my legs.

I was positively surprised by the self-tan mousse and I really liked the effect of it. I usually don't use self-tanners, because they just seem to be so complicated to use. But with a tanning mitt, I got such a natural looking result and I was excited to look a bit darker with no actual sun exposure. I'll definitely use it again, when my natural tan fades and I'll want to look a bit darker. This is easy to use, has nice fragrance and the result is very natural for my warm light skin tone.

I am not impressed by the lotion version and I hate shimmer in it. Especially for the face. I'll still use it on my face, because I have nothing else to use on the face and I usually have a very pale complexion on my face despite getting some natural tan on my body. I always use SPF 50 and protect my face with a hat. The face is just such a delicate part that I don't want it to look aged. I'd say go for the lotion, if you're experienced with self tanning and know how to evenly apply it in a lotion form.

After sun body butter was also great. It left a lovely matte finish to the skin (no greasiness), feels soothing and keeps the skin well moisturized. I don't like the artificial scent to it, but some actually like it. I feel like this is perfect for those that hate greasy and shiny body products - like your male companions. Because it looks almost matte, but still moisturizes and protects it well.

Avon Sun+ Magic Tan Samoporjavitvena pena

Z peno sem dobila topel odtenek z rumenim podtonom. Seveda, če imate naravno hladno polt, vam ta izdelek ne bo ustrezal. Izgledali boste preveč topli in nenaravni.

Daje precej pomirjujoč občutek in skoraj malo hladi.

August 2017 Favorites

August is my favorite month of the year, because that's usually when I go on my vacation by the sea. I'm a summer person more than anything. This month's favorites are summer colored. There's a lot of my summery must have products as well as some new products that I really enjoyed using.

Fa Coconut Milk Shower Gel and Avon Senses Sunny California Glow Shower Gel

This one from Fa is not a proper coconut scent, but it definitely had that coconuty paradise scent to it. Obviously I love it for the scent, because I love coconut and the milky gel is not bad either. It leathers well and doesn't dry out my skin. Another favorite shower gel scent of this month is California Glow from Avon which is a very tropical scent. It kind of reminds me of mandarins, but it's a bit more exotic tropical scent. I love the tangerine color of it and it's a more milky consistency, leathers well and isn't drying. I hate their openings, because they are so hard to open. So I just leave it open, instead of trying to break my nails whenever I want to shower.

Avon Skin So Soft Silky Moisture + Argan Nourishing Dry Oil Body Spray

This is exactly what it claims to be, a dry oil for body. I like it because of the convenience. It's so quick and easy to just spray it on your body and spread it a bit. It soaks in well and doesn't leave a too greasy finish, but it's still very shiny. It's nourishing well, but not too heavy. I don't like the scent, because it's somewhat artificial. It might be the argan oil, which I don't like the scent of. Second ingredient is alcohol and you definitely notice it as soon as you spray it, but then there's also oil in it, which prevents it from drying out the skin.

I have a regular version of this oil which is almost finished and I'm seriously debating getting it - because the price is just a lot (even though it lasts a long time). In the summer I love their Or version, because it contains small golden shimmer which makes your skin look so nice. I usually don't apply it on my body on its own, because it can be too much. Instead I mix it in with my regular body moisturizer and it gives you such a nice glow. It's especially pretty over a bit of tan. The scent is also divine. Kind of nutty and oriental. I have a review of it here

I've already wrote a whole review of it here. It's a hair color that you can use to add highlights to your hair in that natural balayage way. I love the results I got with it. That perfect sun kissed highlights that match my color well. I also didn't notice any major damage which was a plus. It looks so perfect for summer and I recommend it to those that have already experimented with hair coloring at home.

I also have a review of this here. On the photo is my second bottle, because the first one is already half empty and the label has come off. It's one of those really lightweight oils that smells lovely of grapes and does its job. It removes my face makeup well and doesn't leave my skin greasy nor drying. I really like it.

I've been relaying on this face sunscreen whenever I go on a vacation. It's the only face cream so far that I've tried that really protects me from the sun and almost doesn't get me tanned at all. I do get just a tiny bit of color, but in general this has some amazing SPF power. In the summer I always look like a ghost on my face and then my body is a lot darker - like 4 shades darker than my face. It's a bit awkward to walk around without any foundation like that, but I value my skin on the face so much more. The face is the first to show the signs of aging and I'm trying to avoid it from getting sun burnt. I obviously apply SPF on my body too, but I use SPF 30 and somehow always get tanned (in spite of applying it almost every hour - oh the joy of greasiness when you're getting in the sea, I bet shark couldn't grab me, because I'm so slippery). I have a review here

My Beauty Diary - Black Pearl Brightening Mask

I bought this because Mateja liked it so much. I finally tried it and loved it too. It has a thin mask that is well saturated and it feels kind of soothing. It has strong floral scent to it, but it doesn't seem to be irritating. I was surprised that it dries out faster than some of other sheet masks I've been trying out. Maybe it was my skin, it felt a bit dry these days. I loved how brightening it was. My skin tone was so much brighter and evened out. Even my discoloration around the mouth was gone. Unfortunately, it quickly came back after about an hour of using it, but I loved the mask in general. It felt nourishing, moisturizing and the brightening effect is really there. I'm probably going to order it again.

I realize I don't put some of my favorite products that I use most of the time in my monthly favorites. This palette would be in every favorites, because I just use it so much. It's my most used palette of this year and my absolute favorite. The quality is amazing - one swipe and you're good to go. Shade selection features mostly warm toned shades with a few pop out shimmery shades to some perfect mattes for the crease and blending out. I've already hit the pan with Universal Delight. It's my favorite crease shade. I have a full review of this palette with makeup looks here

Maybelline Lash Sensational is my favorite mascara of all time. I usually buy it in a black or intense black version (although I don't see much of a difference between these two to be honest). When I was in France, I mistakenly bought a brown version and finally started using it now. It's just as good as the black version. I love this formula and brush, because it gives you volume, a bit of length and above all it also gives you nice definition (I hate clumpy mascaras). The brown color is like a grey brown, just slightly lighter than black. I love brown eyeliners, especially for summer and fall and now I love pairing it with this brown mascara. It's just slightly less intense and makes the look a bit more subtle and romantic. I have a review of black version here

This is one of Essence's newest fall and winter products. It's like a mousse eyeshadow in a lip gloss packaging with sponge applicator. This shade is a taupe based purple with lots of silver shimmer, which almost looks glittery, if you apply it lighter. I love glittery eyeshadows that don't crease and stay on all day. This is just that. Recently I also bought a gold version, which is not as intense, but I like it too. Highly recommend you to check this out, if you like shimmery eyeshadows. Full review is here

I've been neglecting it, because I've mostly been using Becca's Moonstone. But as soon as the summer comes around, this baby is out. It's one of the best champagne gold highlighters that gives you a lovely shine, lasts a long time and just looks perfect for the summer. It's one of my favorite highlighters ever. A full review is here

I've hit the pan on this. I'm shocked. It wasn't even that long ago that I bought it. It just means I really like it. Bronzer is like a sunscreen for me in the summer. An absolute essential and I use a ton of it. Especially when I'm trying to match my face to my body in the summer. It's my favorite to use, because it gives you a natural sheen, has the perfect warm toned color for my skin tone and lasts well on the skin. I also like the tropical scent, which is a bit artificial, but still nice. Full review of it is here

If August was a color, it would be Lady Danger. I've been using this color so much. It's my all time favorite red, as it has an obvious orange tone to it. It just matched my warm yellow skin tone so well and I like the matte formula as well. It's not too drying and it looks absolutely perfect with a basic bronzed or golden eye look. Full review is here

This is my new colorful favorite nude. Usually my nudes are very brown toned, but this is a perfect colorful version. It's more pink toned, but also slightly dirty based, like a peach and brown undertone. Basically a great mix of all three shades - pink, brown and peach. It will suit many different skin tones and I love it when I want something subtle, but slightly colorful. This is also my favorite matte lipstick formula as it glides on like a dream and doesn't feel drying. Full review is here

Medulin (Croatia) - Park Plaza Belvedere Hotel

This month I've also been on a vacation by the sea. Me and my boyfriend decided to go to Medulin this year. The hotel was amazing. Great rooms, great service and friendly staff. They also had two outdoor pools and one indoor pool with salty water, which is essential to me, even though I spent most of the days on the beach and in the sea. I am definitely a summer person and if I could, I would live by the sea. Ah... maybe some day. I enjoy listening to the sea, swimming, snorkeling, reading a good book and relaxing my mind by not having to think about anything. It's a true therapy, not only for my mind, but also for my skin. I have had skin allergies since I was four and I recently also got eczema. There is no better therapy for skin allergies than a lot of salty water. Truly, it's the only thing that helps me more than any cream on this Earth. One day we also went to see Kamenjak, which is a national park. We went on the spot were there is cliff jumping. It's a stunning natural beach with high cliffs. If you're near there, definitely go see it.

Review: Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara - Brown

Black version of Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara is my favorite mascara ever (so far). I accidentally grabbed a brown version while I was shopping in France, so I finally tried it out. It's just as lovely as a black version.

Luckily in France they have the same plastic packaging around it as in USA. I find it much more consumer friendly. There have been multiple stories of people opening up mascaras in our drugstores and then putting them back, like nothing happened. It's so disrespectful and  unhygienic. I'm a bit put off from buying mascaras in our drugstores, because I just can't know if it has been opened yet or not.

The packaging of the mascara is the same as a black version, mauve pink colored with black details. In it is 9.5 ml of product and this one cost me 9.57€. I believe the price in Slovenia is around 11€. I might be wrong, it has been a while since I last bought it here.

The brush has a curved wand just as the black version. I like the two sides. One with longer silicon bristles gives you more volume and packs on more products, while the shorter sidedefines the lashes and keeps them clump free. The brush is one of the reasons why I love this mascara so much. It just separates so well and still gives them enough volume

I took a photo of both wands. The brown version as well as the black one. It's hard to notice any difference at all, but if you look closely, you'll see that the brown version is slightly lighter and it has a bit warmer tone to it. The color Brown is actually more like a very dark taupe brown color. It's not nearly as light or as warm, as I expected it to be.

On the actual lashes you can't even see that much of a difference. It's only that the black version is more intense and makes your eyes look darker. I love pairing this brown shade with brown eyeliners or more warm toned makeup looks.

Formula is the same as with the black one. Not too dry nor too wet. The more it sort of gets older, the drier becomes and more volume it gives. I like it because it gives you volume, but never looks clumpy. Definition is one of priorities for me. It also holds the curl really well. It drops just slightly after applying it - like with most mascaras, but then it holds the curl through the whole day. I never have problems with smudging and it lasts through sweat too. Which is great for a mascara that isn't even waterproof.

On the photos you can see my curled lashes, then it's my lashes with one coat and on the last photo I have two heavy coats on.

At first I thought I'm not going to even use this brown version. For some reason I expected it to be very light brown and that would just look weird with my dark brown eyes. But it turns out, it's a very dark version of brown and it goes so well with a brown eye liner. Just looks slightly lighter in color and more subtle. The formula and wand is the same as with the black version. Since I love the black version so much, I also love this one. If we had this color in Slovenia, I'd probably even buy it again.

New In (11)

As the fall is slowly coming, so are new makeup releases. I feel like summers are always quiet and there's very little new releases. Everyone is enjoying summer and holidays, but as soon as the fall is approaching, there are more and more new releases. Since my last New In post, I've repurchased some of my favorites as well as few new products to try out.

Essence 2 in 1 Eye Shadow & Liner Waterproof - 01 Go Bro'nze

I heard good things about these eye pencils, so when I saw that this shade was on sale, I decided to get it. In store it looked more bronze, but once I tried it at home, I realized it's again one of those taupe bronzed shades. This August I've been on a hunt for a perfect warm bronze cream eyeshadow in a stick form. This one wasn't it. I can't believe how sheer this went on. The more I blended it, the less was there. It was an instant regret of buying it. It's just nothing like Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadows, which are super pigmented and stay in place. I feel like this one is way too greasy for my oily eyelids and the pigmentation just isn't there. It was a waste of money.

DM Sun Dance Lippen Balsam 30 Hoch

I've had this SPF 30 lip balm last year, so I repurchased it this year and took it to the sea side. It's one of rare lip products with SPF 30 that doesn't leave a white cast. It's a transparent shiny almost like a lip gloss product. It has a bit of milky yellow color, but nothing too visible. I feel like it protects my lips well and it also moisturizes them. It has sort of a vanilla sweet scent.

Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother + Shea Butter & Jojoba Oil - 040 Coffee To Go

Yet another product that I found on sale. I've loved these beautifiers since they first came out and still have two shades (apricot and nude brown). It's one of the most comforting formula ever. It feels like a nourishing lip balm, but looks like a thicker lip gloss with a hint of color. I'm so sad that they've decided to discontinue these, so I grabbed one shade before they're all gone. This was the most neutral shade of them all. It's actually a natural looking pinky mauve which blends with your natural color and makes it look just slightly brighter.

Look By Bipa Mega Stay Shadow & Liner Waterproof - 02 Metallic Bronze

In my search for a warm bronzer stick eyeshadow, I also bought this one from Bipa. The shade is absolutely perfect. It's that warm almost copper bronze shade, but still dark enough. This one is much better than the one by Essence, but it also needs to be build up. None of these are nearly as good as Kiko's, but this one would do, if you put more effort into building it up. It's also not as greasy and doesn't move as much, but it's not what I hoped it to be. I hoped it to be like Kiko.

I forgot how good this foundation was. In winter time this lightest shade is still too dark for me, so I usually just use it in summer. I've been using it a lot and the previous bottle was kind of empty, so I bought a new one. I have a whole review of it here, so I won't talk much about it here. It has good coverage, nice velvet finish and feels lightweight on the skin.

Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner

I was reminded that I didn't even write a review of it on my blog. But I've had this product in the past in full size and liked it, so I repurchased a travel size bottle to take with me on a vacation. It's basically a leave in conditioner. I currently use the one from Joico K-pak range, but I liked this one too. Although Joico feels a bit more nourishing. This one makes my hair feel smooth and hydrated, which is all I can ask for. I'll probably finally write a full review of it, as soon as I try it out again.

Missha Pure Source Cell Sheet Mask - Pearl

I've already tried this one out and I'll probably post a separate review. It's very nice brightening mask. The effect is similar to The Beauty Diary Black Pearl, although with TBD mask the brightening effect lasts a bit longer. With this one I got a really bright skin, even tone, skin felt nourished and hydrated. It also gave me an amazing glow with no stickiness. I repurchased some of other versions, just because I want to try some that I didn't already.

Jennifer Lopez Miami Glow By Jlo Eau de Toilette - Tester

I've heard that this one has coconut in it and supposedly it's quite strong. I love sweet fragrances and I love coconut, so obviously I loved this one. It's such a warm and strong scent, with sweetness, but not overpowering. It almost feels a bit sophisticated too. I don't smell as much coconut as I would have liked too, but I love the fragrance nonetheless. Here you can read about the notes in it.

Rihanna Reb'l Fleur Eau de Parfum - Tester

This is even stronger than Glow. It's again one of those sweet scents with very strong base and coconut as one of the notes. It would be more of winter perfume for me. I like combination of notes and it seems to really last on my skin. Here are the notes of it.

I've already post a full review of it and you can read it here. It's one of those rare nail treatments that saved my nails. I still like to use it every now and then and under a colored nail polishes to keep my nails in check. Whenever I don't use it, my nails start chipping again and they can't seem to grow.

Catrice Matt To Cheek Blush Stick - 010 Brownie & Clyde

Me and my cream products. I mostly just use these in the summer or when I want to look descent in the shortest time possible. I really wanted a cream stick in a blush form and that was the only one I could find in our drugstores. I wanted a more peachy shade and I actually didn't plan on buying this shade, but I decided to try it anyway. It's a bit dark. In fact it almost looks like a bronzer, but it has that peach undertone in it. It works on my tan skin tone, but in the winter time, it would just look muddy on me. I really don't know why Catrice hasn't included a peach shade in their selection. They have a nice cool mauve and a brighter vibrant pink as well.

Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil - 29 Berry Fantastic

Those damn drugstore lights. This eye pencil looks like a dark red shade, but the product inside is completely different. It's a dark warm purple shade. I really wanted a red eye liner. It's not ugly, the shade is pretty, but I was just so excited that it's red and it ain't. The formula is creamy, but you need to use a brush to get a precise line and it blends out well. It also lasts all day.

Essence Superlast 24h Eyebrow Pomade Pencil Waterproof - 10 Blonde

I'm always up for trying new brow products. Especially those in a pen form and I was excited to try this. It's a waxy formula in a pen form. I thought it would be more like a pen, but it's actually like a pomade in a pen form. That's why I'm not sure I like it. It deposits a lot of color on the brow, but for some reason it's not as precise. I believe that because it's a bit waxier and not as hard to the touch. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet.

Essence Holo Rainbow Nail Polish - 01 Hello Holo

Now this is fun. If you love glittery things, than you'll love it. I am always up for a fun glittery nails polish. The regret comes when I have to take it off. You can apply it sheer with just a few glitters here and there or apply it really dense to the point where you can't see your base color anymore. I wore it like that as an accent nail in one of my manicure and it looks really pretty. It has transparent base and blue toned silver glitter that reflects rainbow colors. The glitter is actually quite small, which is nice, but it's a pain in the ass to take off, like all glittery nail polishes.

Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow - 01 Solar Explosion

I should have seen this one coming. The 02 Stars & Stories shade impressed me so much, that I went and took another look at these. I was right, the gold one had some nice shimmer in it too. But it doesn't look as intense. Probably due to a fact that it's a gold based shade and the silver glitter in it doesn't stand out as much as with that purple taupe shade. I have a full review of the previous version here. In the post you can also see I like to apply these sheer, so that there's more glitter showing than the metallic base. I like these to add on top of other eyeshadows for that extra shine.

Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray

I have Rough Texturiser from this same range and I absolutely love it. It's one of those rare products that I have for adding texture to my hair and making my curls last longer with more volume. So I saw this travel sized bottle on Salma and decided to get it. I've never before had sea salt sprays. It's one of those things I've always wanted to try. While I'm swimming in the sea, my hair gets awesome volume. No wonder, with all that added sea salt. I expected this to be really sticky, like most of these sea salt products feel, but it's not. It actually just adds a bit of grip to my hair, which means it also gives them more volume and thickness. I've only tried it once, so I'll report back when I use it more. But so far, it's not bad.

Elemis Revitalise Me - Bath & Shower Gel, Hand & Body Lotion, Shampoo, Conditioner

I was on a vacation in Croatia and our hotel had Elemis travel sized skin care and body care. Obviously I was intrigued. I'm a beauty blogger after all. Elemis is a skin care range outside of my budget, so when I saw I get a refill every day, I took advantage of it and took home some of these to test out (trust me, I paid for it anyway, it's not like I'm stealing). I was surprised to find out that they actually sell these. I thought it was a range made only for hotels and spas. These come in full size of 300 ml and each costs from 20 to 27£. They all smell very spa like and actually all have some sort of aromatic oils in them. I only tried shampoo and conditioner so far and I like both. They have more runny texture, smell really soothing and feel very smooth on the hair. If I really like it, I'll post a review otherwise I probably won't.

Afrodita Clean Phase Ultra Moisture Tonic

I was in desperate need of a good basic toner and this was just what I could get in our drugstores that wasn't too expensive. I can't say I'm impressed. It says that it's alcohol free and supposedly for sensitive skin, but I still felt some stringing while using it at first. Now I don't anymore, but I don't think this is suitable for sensitive skin. I don't have much to say about basic toners. It's fine, seems to make my skin less dry feeling after I wash it, but that's about it. Nothing life changing.

Essence Hololighter Brush

Who saw it coming? A unicorn brush with a holo design from Essence. I didn't know how it would look like, but I saw it in the preview and knew I want it. I love highlighters and I don't have as many great brushes to use them with. Most are quite big, so this is a nice change. It's actually quite small, more like a big blending eye brush. The bristles are really soft and slightly longer. Not too dense, so you can get a fairly light application. This is great for precision applying. It's also great for applying highlighter on smaller areas, like at the very center of the nose, on the upper lip and above brows. The holo handle is fun, I just wish it would be longer. It's shorter than most of my eye brushes, so I have to search for it in my mug, because it's always shorter. Also, I thought that around 4€ for this was a bit too much for Essence. Or it might just be a good selling point with that unicorn trend going on.

Bilou Cremiger Duschschaum - Chocolate Cupcake

I was drawn to this because of this cute simplistic design. This scent version was also on sale in Austrian DM, so I just got it. I haven't used it yet, because I'm saving it for colder weather, when I like those really sweet scents. This smells like a proper chocolate muffin. It's a shower foam, if I haven't mentioned yet. I've never used a shower foam, so I'm interested.

I've had a few of Sierra Bees lip balms. A long time ago, iHerb gave you these as free gifts with your purchase. Well you could chose you're free gift and I loved these. Or it might not have been for free, but the price was something under a dollar, so almost free. It's a natural ingredient lip balm made with only 6 ingredients. It's that greasy, but light feeling formula. Pomegranate was my favorite flavor out of those that I tried, so I order a pack of 4 now for the colder months.

E.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush

I absolutely adore some of E.l.f. brushes. I especially like their blush brush. It's super soft and cheap. So when I was ordering from iHerb, I took another look at their brushes and decided to get two more. This one had good reviews. It has that shorter rounded bristles that are dense, but not too dense. It blends out foundation lovely, but you do need to massage it in quite well or you'll be left with stripes. But once you really get it into the skin, it looks lovely. Of course, I'll test it more to report back in a separate post.

E.l.f. Highlighting Brush

Obviously I had to get this one too. Again, me and my highlighting obsession. I actually use E.l.f. Small Tapered Brush for more precise highlighting. That one is smaller and this one is like a bigger version of that small tapered brush. Small tapered brush is denser and highlighting brush is less dense, very soft and perfect for applying highlighter, brush, powder under the eyes or even for contour. It has tapered shape and is soft enough to give you a light application. I really like it and can't wait to test it out more. If you're looking for fairly affordable makeup brushes, E.l.f. is worth checking out.

E.l.f. Hydrating Under Eye Primer

Another product that had good reviews. I am out of my eye cream, so I got this as a replacement. Especially in the morning before applying makeup. It promises some nice ingredients as vitamin C and E, shea, green tea, aloe and ginkgo biloba to nourish and condition the skin. I've tried it a few times. It's like a light pink colored lightweight cream that has a bit of that silicon smooth feel to it. It applies smoothly, but I can't say, if this makes my makeup last any longer. I'll have to test it out more. But it wears nice under makeup.

Because the packages from Korea are notoriously late this summer, I decided to order these from iHerb too. I already have a review of them here. It's basically one of the best spot treatments for those nasty pimples that just won't go away. I have these every now and then apply this patch on. It sucks out all of the gunk and makes it dry up quicker. I only had one sheet of these, so I was even cutting the patches in half to save them. But now I don't have to anymore.

Cerave Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin

I got this recommended when I wrote about my dyshidrotic eczema problems. I realized there is a lot of you that have the same problems and maybe didn't even research what it is. I have it on my hands and it shows as small fluid bubbles that itch and once they pop, the skin feels irritated and stings. It also gets really dry and forms dry patches that can also feel irritated, especially if you apply perfumed hand creams on top of it. So I got this one based on a recommendation and I have been using it for a few days. It's a cream based on ceramides (which are crucial to strengthening your skin's barrier in order to not let the bacteria and irritation come to it) and hyaluronic acid (hydrating ingredient). It's a thicker, but lightweight white cream that has a nice greasy protective layer to it, but doesn't look shiny and soaks in the skin well. It just forms a protective nourishing layer on the skin. So far I really like it. It also has no scent to it. This is great for all of those dry skin problems in general, not just for eczema.

You complete me! (Tom Cruise voice) Whenever I am without it, I feel lost. But no for real, this is by far the best top coat I have ever tried. It dries your manicure in seconds, doesn't smudge the design and gives you amazing shine. It also prolongs the wear of your nail polish. It only has one downside. It starts to get thicker once you get to about a half of bottle. Then you need their thinner to make it like new again. Since I don't have this thinner anymore, I just repurchased the top coat itself. Now my nails will be on point again. A review of it is here.

Avon True Colour Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliner - Golden Diamond*

I love Avon eye liners. They always have nice shades and formulas. This and a copper shade, are two new sparkly shades in their collection. It's a perfect inner corner highlight. Golden Diamond is a pale yellow gold shade with tiny gold shimmers in it. I wouldn't use it all over the lid, because for that I prefer something darker, but it's great to pop in the inner corners or around the lower lash line to make your eyes sparkle. It also stays put because of the waxy formula.

I have a full review of it here. At first I bought one and then got another one from Avon. I love it. It's so lightweight, smells well and removes makeup as it should.

I've already featured it in my August favorites. It's such a tropical sweet fruity scent and I love it for the summer. The mandarin shade of it is to die for and it has a gel consistency, but almost looks like a pudding in a way. It's not that typical runny gel, it has some jello feel to it. It leathers well and feels more nourishing than regular transparent gels. Avon has one of the best shower gel scents.

Avon Luxe Shape Sensation Lipstick - Incredible*

This is a fairly new range of Avon Luxe lipsticks. It has collagen core in the middle of it, which looks like a transparent white gel. Around it is colored lipstick. This should make your lips voluminous, hydrated and smooth. I am a bit hesitant to use it, because the collagen in it smells of menthol, which gives you that plumping feeling on the lips. My lips are mostly very dry and menthol products or plumping products in general don't agree with it. But I did wear it and it has a super smooth lightweight formula with lost of shine. I like it, because it's so lightweight, but still pigmented enough. It's super shiny, but doesn't bleed out of the lines either. I'm just not fond of the plumping sensation, since it's more of an irritant for my lips. So I use it sparingly, only when my lips are in good condition. The shade Incredible is a classic vibrant blue toned red.

Makeup Revolution Pro HD Amplified 35 Palette - Luxe*

Ličila.si sent us bloggers some of Makeup Revolution products, since this brand is now also available in local Tuš Drogerija. I got a huge eyeshadow palette in the shade Luxe which features mostly warm toned eyeshadows. A lot of browns, purples, peaches...basically exactly the kind of shades that I like the most. I've been playing with it ever since I got it. So expect a separate review with a lot of makeup looks. Shade range is gorgeous. Matte shades need more building up than the shimmery ones, which is normal for drugstore brands. Some shades feel extra creamy and pigmented, some need to be layers for full opacity. Matte shades especially can have a lot of kick-up or fall-out. In general the quality surprised me.

Makeup Revolution Unicorn Heart A Rainbow Highlighter Made By Unicorns*

Now I have to say, if you're trying to make a rainbow unicorn highlighter, this is the way to do it. It looks like a baked formula with rainbow colors in a heart shape with holographic packaging. Need I say more. #unicorngoals It's really pigmented and really blinding. I like that you can apply it lighter which gives you a lovely sheen that still let's your skin shine through (although it's still very blinding) or you can really pack it on for that blinding glow that's seen from the universe. My only problem is that no matter, if I swirl all the shades together, it always looks like a cool toned blueish highlighter. It's also very light and I think it's more appropriate for fair to light skin tones.

Makeup Revolution Lipstick - Wishful*

The rose gold MAC inspired packaging is gorgeous. It feels well made. Shade Wishful is my kind of perfect nude. It's warm toned and has a bit of peach, a bit of pink and a bit of brown in it. That perfect mix of all the shades. It's not too light. The formula is matte, but in a comfortable way. It doesn't feel drying nor too heavy on the lips. I really like it.

Avon Konjac Sponge*

I already have a konjac sponge from Balea, which I neglect. So I'm hoping I'll get more use out of this one from Avon. I already tried it a bit. It's a black colored sponge in a tear shape. It also has a little nit for you to hand it on and leave it to dry. Once it gets with touch to the water, it softens and expands. It has a burnt charcoal scent to it. I like these sponges for the pure pleasure. Whenever I use this on my face it feels like a massage. So relaxing and comforting. It exfoliates the skin a bit and makes it really soft. I'll have to use it more to give you my full thoughts.

Avon Mark Perfect Brow Creme Gel Pot - Deep Brown*

This is a good one. I thought that Deep Brown would be too dark for me and it is a bit now that I have blonde highlights, but it's actually not as dark as you may think. Especially, if you apply it lightly. I used this with a brow angled brush and just drew a few strokes here and there when I needed. It's super pigmented, creamy enough to apply, but not greasy looking and it stays put all day. So far I like it, but I have to try it out more. They also have another shade called Blonde. That's the only downside to it, they only have two shades available.

Avon Mark Big & Style Volume Mascara - Black*

I haven't tried this one out yet, because I have so many mascaras that are opened and some that need to be tested. So I'll probably need a bit more time to test it out. It promises nice volume.

Avon Clear Skin Pore & Shine Control Black Mineral Mask*

I don't get this whole black mask trend that is going on and I don't care. These stupid trends that seem to come out of nowhere and reinvent something that exists for centuries, it's not my kind of thing. But this is a basic clay based masked that has dark grey color and it dries to a light grey color. It feels just like most of the clay masks, which means it cleans the pores and you need some skin care after it to not dry out your skin too much. But I like it, because it's not as drying as for example that grey L'Oreal mask.

Essence LE Coast'n'chill Velvet Matt Liquid Lipstick - 01 Smooth & Move and 02 Smooth & Groove*

Essences' latest Limited Edition is inspired by the coast at the late summer nights. It mostly features those coming into fall shades. I tested out two of their liquid lipsticks. Shade 01 Smooth & Move is a neutral pink nude and 02 Smooth & Groove is a cool grey based mauve shade. These feel a bit heavy on the lips, because they have a thicker almost moussy consistency - similar to NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. But these also feel sticky while they're drying. They give you a really matte finish in just a few seconds and the shades are gorgeous. Just not the most lightweight product out there.

Catrice LE Dawid Tomaszewski Wild Matt Lipstick - C01 Unconventional Violet and Cosmetic Bag*

This is a Limited Edition made in collaboration with a fashion designer Dawid Tomaszewski. It has an art deco feel to it and the packaging on everything is just stunning. Cosmetic Bag is a smaller essential bag and it has lovely rose gold color. The design on it is really pretty. Lipstick also has that rose gold metal packaging with the most incredible bullet design which makes it look like suede. This is the darker shade in the collection, they also have a classic red. It's a dark cool toned purple shade. To me this isn't a matte finish. It's very creamy and even has a bit of sheen. But the pigmentation is just not there for it to be a proper matte. You need to layer it on to make it really opaque and because it's so creamy it almost never looks a proper matte. But the shade is unique and I really like how dark it is.

Avon Bubble Gum Bubble Bath*

I just got this today, but oh my god. Isn't this just cute? Pink colored bubble bath that smells exactly like those old school pink bubble gums. I am in love and I can't wait to dive into this. I love Avon bubble baths in general. They are the only bubble baths that I use. You can get them really cheap and these make a lot of bubbles in my bath, although the bubbles vanish after some time.

Avon Mark Nail Style Studio Pink Illusion Nail Enamel - Digital Illusion and Glam Rock*

It's a new Avon nail polish range that has 5 nail polishes. They all seem to be a bit different to their regular nail polishes. These have a duo chrome feel to them. The base is one color and than they have a sheen on top. Digital Illusion looks like a sheer pink shade with peacock blue green sheen to it. Glam Rock is a medium salmon pink with a cool purple blue sheen to it. I quickly swatched them on my nails and these have two different effects. Glam Rock dries to something that looks like sand effect or at least a textured finish. Digital Illusion dries matte with small shimmers that give it that sheen. Both are very sheer and would probably look good over a colored base too.

I've been using this a lot in the past. It's now been re-marketed under a Mark brand, but before it was their Ideal Flawless Eyeshadow Primer. This is a light beige color that covers your lids well and gives you a nice blank surface to work with. I like it so much, because it covered my veins and discolorations so well. It also makes eyeshadows go on brighter (works especially good with Avon Quads) and prevents it from creasing. Now I use lighter and sheerer primers, so I am excited to use this again. The only down site to this was that it dried up when you used about a half of it and it wasn't as smooth to apply anymore.

Review: Essence LE Coast 'n' chill Velvet Matt Liquid Lipstick (01 Smooth & Move, 02 Smooth & Groove)

Essence's latest Limited Edition is called Coast 'n' chill and it's about those late summer nights by the beach. I feel like the shades are perfect for transitioning into fall. I've been testing out both shades of liquid matte lipsticks and here are my thoughts.

Lipsticks come in a plastic packaging. The color of outside should represent the shade inside. There is also a rope detail on the top and a white plastic applicator. Size wise the packaging is similar to NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams.

In each is 9 grams of product and the price is 2.79€.

They have fluffy doe foot applicator that spreads the product on nicely. There's enough product on the applicator to apply all over the lips in one swipe.

Formula instantly reminded me of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. It has that similar whipped mousse creamy texture that applies with such ease. The difference is that these by Essence dry a lot faster and give you a more proper matte finish - by that I mean a drier matte finish. It looks drier, but doesn't necessarily feels drying on the lips.

On the bottom photos you can see how these look like a few second after the application.

These dry in the matter of 2 to 5 minutes to a complete matte finish, like you can see on the bottom photo.

Because it's a proper matte finish, you have to evenly apply it or it will dry uneven. I hope you can see that the lipstick looks darker on those parts that I applied more and lighter where I applied less. That's one of my main issues. Because I have to apply a thicker coat in order to make it look even and I prefer something lighter on my lips. Obviously shade 01 is more forgiving, because it's lighter. The unevenness is more obvious with the shade 02.

Pigmentation is actually good. In one swipe you can cover your lips entirely.

Once these are drying down, they feel very sticky. Not as sticky as a proper lip gloss, but definitely sticky. The more they dry down, the less sticky they are. But I find that the stickiness still stays and I wouldn't recommend rubbing your lips together too much. The stickiness also means that they are really long lasting. They stick to the lips and won't move. If you're eating or drinking a lot, you might need to reapply it on the inner rim of the lips.

They also don't feel particularly drying on the lips, but don't expect a moisturizing effect from them - because none of liquid matte lipsticks have that. I can confirm that my lips weren't too dry after using these and I do get these problems with really matte formulas, so that's a plus in my book. They feel a bit heavy on the lips, but not too heavy for my taste. I find that most liquid matte lipsticks have that more obvious feel on the lips in general.

01 Smooth & Move is a warm light pinky peach nude shade. It's that perfect mix of a bit peach, pink and brown color. On me it turns warm, but it can look quite cool, despite the peachiness to it.

02 Smooth & Groove is a cool grey toned medium mauve. It has a very obvious cool grey undertone to it.

I don't have any similar shades to 02 Smooth & Groove, because most of my mauve shades are either lighter or not as cool toned, so I'm happy I have a very cool shade in my collection. It looks so edgy, yet still wearable.

I swatched 01 Smooth & Move next to NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm. These shades are similar, but not dupes. Essence dries slightly more cool toned and it looks just a bit more pinky. It might look actually quite cool toned on cooler skin tones. Stockholm is a bit peachier, warmer and slightly more vibrant. I also swatched NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Cannes which is already darker and looks more mauve pink next to the other shades. Avon Supreme Nourishing Lipstick in Nurturing Nude is the warmest shade of these all. It has that same nude feel to it, but it's shiny and more peach toned.

I really like this small and travel friendly packaging as well as both shades. 01 is that classic nude that goes with everything and 02 is my first cool toned mauve grey shade that I just find edgy and interesting. These are very long lasting and dry to a proper matte finish.

If you can get pass that sticky feeling and you apply it as evenly as possible, then go for it. I look at these as a matter and cheaper version of NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. For the price you really can't go wrong. Just keep in mind that these don't feel as effortless on the lips and that you have to apply them even to look the best.

This Limited Edition is already available in Müller. If you miss it there, then search for it in DM, Tuš Drogerija, Ličila.si, Leclerc or Click2Chic.

Review: Avon Luxe Shape Sensation Lipstick - Incredible

$

Avon is one of those brands that loves to upgrade their range every once in a while. Recently, they've added a new Luxe Shape Sensation lipsticks to their luxurious Luxe range. I tested out one shade.

It comes in a gorgeous shiny gold plastic packaging with Avon logo on it and matte LUXE sign. You know I'm all about gold, so I am loving it. On the bottom it has a sticker with the color that's inside and a name

In it is 3.6 grams of product and the regular price is 8€ (currently on offer for 6.90€/Slovenia).

This is a lipstick infused with a collagen layer in the middle. As you can see the bullet has a transparent gel core that's supposedly collagen for plumping the lips. Around it it's a regular creamy lipstick formula. This lipstick should give your lips volume, moisturization and perfect color.

I have a shade called Incredible. In the range is 5 colors from apricot, tangerine, pink, red and purple. A very basic color selection.

Incredible is a true cool toned medium red.

It's a creamy almost gel like formula. Regular creamy lipsticks are thicker, but this one is very lightweight and sheerer. It gives your lips a lovely shine.

The formula glides on the lips with utter ease. First layer may seem a bit sheer, so go over it at least twice to get an even and opaque color. But keep in mind that the collagen core feels like a transparent gel, so it's obvious you don't get that very pigmented base at first. It's so lightweight that it almost feels like a light lip balm. It reminds me a lot of the Catrice Supreme Fusion Lipcolor + Care (070 Remarry Berry) formula, but that one is less pigmented and doesn't look as even. It also feels a bit more waxy.

As soon as I started applying it, I smelled menthol scent and my lips started to tingle. Avon says that the core is made out of collagen, but I assume there must be menthol in it too. That is your volume part that they describe. It's basically a tingling of your lips that make you feel like they're getting bigger. I don't notice much of a difference and the menthol vanishes after about 5 minutes. Then it becomes a lovely wearable formula that sits so comfortably on the lips and doesn't dry them out. I really wish, they wouldn't put in that menthol, because it ruins a great formula. At least for me and my dry lips, menthol can be irritating. So I use this lipstick sparingly, on those days that my lips feel fine.

Pigmentation is good. You do need at least two swipes to get it even, because of the transparent core.

Because it's a formula with shine, it's obviously not long lasting. It stays on the lips for about 2 hours before you'll see it vanish from the inner rim of the lips and you'll need to reapply. The same thing happens, if you eat or drink. For such a creamy formula, it also wears nice. It doesn't bleed too much outside of the lines. Just here and there, but nothing too visible. I always wear it without a lip liner, but if you have a more mature skin, you might need to use a lip liner in order to avoid it getting into small cracks. It also has a nice stain, if you leave it on for a really long time and the shine mostly vanishes away.

If Avon would cut out the menthol or collagen part in the middle, this probably wouldn't be as lightweight and gel like anymore. But it is a concern for my dry lips, as it irritates them. Menthol feel fades away, but it's still an unnecessary addition in my mind. The formula itself is lovely, very lightweight, creamy and has lovely shine. I think it looks especially nice over drier lips. For those that want super pigmentation with a very long lasting result, this is not for you.

Jaz imam odtenek Incredible. Zelo osnovna barvna paleta.

Incredible je srednje hladno rdeč odtenke z modrim podtonom.

Ima kremasto skoraj gelu podobno teksturo. Navadne šminke so gostejše.

Takoj ko sem jo začela nanašati, sem zavohala mentol in ustnice so me začele ščemeti.

Review: Paese Products

Paese is a Polish makeup brand (they have some skin care products too) that I didn't know about, until I got some products on one of the beauty blogger events. They actually gave us a good amount of makeup to test and make our mind up about the brand. I was intrigued by the quality packaging and simplistic design. As soon as I started using the products, I was impressed. So I decided to make a short review of all the products I got. I'll try to keep it short and informative, because there is a lot of products.

The basis of this brand is keeping it as natural as possible with vitamin complexes, oils, waxes, minerals and protective UV filters. Or so I've been said, I'm not an expert on ingredients, so I can't say. You can find the list of ingredients on their website for every product that you're interested in.

Paese Mattifying Make-Up Base

It comes in a transparent plastic bottle with plastic top and a plastic pump. The pump works fine and you can control the amount of product that you want.

In it is 15 ml of product and the price is 15€.

It has a thicker transparent gel consistency that spreads on the skin with ease and feels almost a bit greasy (more than some of silicon based primers that I own). It has that typical silicon smooth feel to it and a velvet matte finish. It smooths the skin and preps it for foundation. I didn't notice it particularly hiding the pores, but it also didn't make them appear bigger.

It's a mattifying base for oily and combination skin. At first it really does  make your skin look velvet matte, but on my skin it didn't prevent the oils to come through. I felt like my skin got greasy on my t-zone like it does if I don't use a primer. It's a nice smooth base for under foundation, but I wouldn't say it's mattifying through the day. At least it wasn't on my combination skin. Primers are usually used to prolong the wear of makeup and I guess it did that a little.

It doesn't have any scent to it.

Paese Liquid Powder Double Skin Aqua Lightweight and Moisturizing Foundation - 20A

It comes in a glass bottle with a plastic black top. It has a lip gloss kind of sponge applicator, which seems nice to use, but it's not hygienic

In it is 30 ml of product and the price is 24€.

It has a greasy thin creamy formula. This dries on the skin really fast and you have to work with it fast. It really clings to the skin and gives you a velvet finish with a sheen. It's not sticky, but also not powdery or cakey looking. It gets a bit into pores, but doesn't emphasize them. It gets a bit into fine lines too, but feels almost moisturizing on the skin.

The coverage is underwhelming for me. I'd say it's light to medium coverage. You can build it up or sheer it out. For some reason it looked kind of patchy on me, which I hated.

After a few hours my skin looked very dewy and it got really patchy looking around my edges, like on the forehead (which also made my bronzer came off), which looked like I was peeling off. Not a good look. The coverage also pretty much vanishes after a few hours

It comes in 6 shades from 10A to 30A and from 10M and 30M. I got the shade 20A, which looked fine in the bottle. It was a bit too dark for my NC15 complexion, but as soon as I got some tan, I was excited to try it out. To my disappointment this oxidizes like crazy. I was applying it on my skin and while I was applying it, it dried down on some parts to a really dark orange based color. It oxidized at least 4 shades darker than what it looked like in the beginning. Crazy.

Shade 20A is a very warm yellow toned shade that looks orange toned once it dries down. Or it at least oxidized like that on my skin. I can't say, if it does on everyone.

It has that typical clay like foundation scent, so no added perfumes

I swatched it next to other foundations and this photo was taken before it oxidized, because I wanted you to see the different undertones.

Paese 20A is a warm toned shade that turns orange. Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation in 010 Light Beige is more of a neutral warm shade. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 51 Light Vanilla is a warm yellow toned shade with slight peachiness to it. EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation in 2.0 is the most yellow toned shade of these all and lighter than other shades (at least at first). L'Oreal Infallible 24h-Matte in 11 Vanilla is cool pink toned and darker than most other shades. ItStyle 24h Long Lasting Foundation in 04 is the darkest of these all and has a warm undertone.

Paese 20A looks most similar to Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation in 010 Light Beige, but once it oxidizes it's very orange toned and a lot darker. I think this shade is more suited for medium skin tones, even though it looks really light in the bottle.

On the bottom photo you can see how it started to oxidize. A real oompa loompa shade for my light skin tone.

I mixed this foundation with another lighter shade of foundation from my collection, because I just couldn't wear it on its own. It was way too dark. But I did test it on its own while I was at home. I also used Paese Rice powder on my T-zone.

Paese Rice Powder

It comes in a transparent plastic pot with a shiny black plastic top. It has a sifter with small holes. The sifter has that double system where you can turn it and close the holes to prevent loose powder coming out. If you turn the sifter to the other side, you open it and you can shake powder out. I like that, because it prevents it getting dirty and spilling all over the packaging. You can control the amount you want. It also comes with a powder puff, which feels very plastic and cheap. It's not one of those soft powder puffs, so I don't like to use it.

In ti is 15 grams of product and the price is 18€.

It's a white very finely milled powder that essentially works as a transparent powder. It means it blends into nothing. I'm not sure how these white transparent powders would look on darker skin tones. They might looks ashy. But they are great for fair and light skin tones.

It has a subtle kind of floral scent. I don't know why, but I really like it. And I usually don't like my makeup to be overly perfumed.

They say it's recommended for dry and sensitive skin. It should absorb excessive sebum, prevent dehydration of the skin and keep the skin matte looking. It's smoothing, soft and with a velvet finish

I agree that this gives you amazingly smooth skin with a velvet finish. It doesn't sit into poresor lines and it gives your skin lovely natural matte look. I also feel like it absorbs sebum very well. It makes my skin matte looking for longer, but it also doesn't look cakey. It's very lightweight. I love it for under the eyes for a super smooth finish as well as on my oily t-zone as it keeps my foundation last longer and not get shiny as quickly. To me this is one of the stand out products from them.

Paese Shimmer Pressed Powder - 02 Natural

It comes in a plastic shiny black packaging. It looks kind of 3D and well made. Inside you also get a small mirror and a puff, which is again kind of plastic feeling and rough

In it is 9 grams of product and the price is 19.90€

I am a bit confused by this product. On the packaging it says that it prism highlights or imitates the suntan, making the skin look healthy and relaxed. Highly ground pearl reflects the light, ensuring luminosity. It is multifunctional product for modelling the face, as it can be used as the blusher, brightening powder or bronzer.

It's a finely milled powder with slightly wet texture and really good pigmentation. Shade 02 Natural is a peach based color with light silver sheen. There's no visible shimmer in it, it's so fine that it just gives a nice sheen to the skin. It looks incredibly natural

My only problem is the base color. It's kind of peachy like a bronzer, at times it looks kind of cool pink toned because of a cool sheen on top and I'm not sure what to use it for. They say it's basically a highlighter, bronzer and blush all in one. When I am very fair, this works more as a shimmery bronzer. But it has such a strong sheen to it, that it kind of looks weird to me, unless you really like shimmery powders for setting and bronzers. When I'm tanned I can use it as a highlighter, although it still has that visible peach base to it. I guess I can use it instead of a bronzer and highlighter all in one. Eventually you could also apply it as a shiny blush with peach undertone

I don't notice any scent to it.

I compared it to Essence Pure Nude Highlighter in 10 Be My Highlight. These two look almost exactly the same. Essence has just a tiny bit more of that silver sheen and looks just slightly more reflective or shiny. The shimmer in it is also just a tad bigger, but once on the skin, you almost can't tell a difference. Maybe Essence gives me less of that pigmented base and that's why I feel it's more wearable. But these could easily be dupes. I also swatched next to it Catrice LE Treasure Trove Golden Powder in C01 Golden Grace which is a more pink toned variation, lighter in color and even more shimmery. It also has more of a golden shimmer in it. Terra Naturi Shimmer Powder Body & Face in 01 Golden Highlight is about the same darkness as Paese, but it a golden highlighter with even more peachy base to it. The sheen here is very gold.

On the bottom photo you can see how it gives me a bronze peachy color to the cheeks, but where it hits the light it reflects a soft silver sheen.

Paese Blacker Than Black Volume And Care Mascara

It comes in a shiny black plastic packaging.

In it is 13 ml of product and the price is 17.90€.

The wand has those natural bristles which seem to be the same length down the wand, but they get slightly shorter on the end of it and roundly cut. The wand is quite big, but still easy enough to work with and you can get really close to the roots of lashes.

It has a lot of product on the wand and I would advise you to take most of it off, before applying. The formula is just fine, not too wet nor too dry

One coat gives you mostly length and good separation. Second coat will give you more volume, but also length. It doesn't make them look too clumpy, so you can apply a few coats and not loose a lot of definition. In my opinion this is more of a lengthening mascara than a volumizing and fairly separating. Right after application the curl drops a little, like with most mascaras, but then it stays curled for the whole day. It looks even better on lower lashes as it gives them nice definition and length. It didn't smudge or flake off.

I like that it's not clumpy looking, but I just wish it had more volume.

Paese Lip Pencil - 11

It comes in a white pencil form with a transparent cap. The range features 6 different shades.

It doesn't say how much product is in it, but the price is 8€

The texture is very creamy, almost like lipstick. It has good pigmentation and applies with ease. It also looks even on the lips and lasts very well without feeling dry on the lips. It wears very comfortable

Shade 11 is a medium pink mauve shade. It's essentially pink with a slight purple tint to it.

Paese Silky Matt Lipstick - 707

It comes in a plastic transparent packaging with a matte black top. In the range you can choose among 10 shades. I believe I saw that they've recently added another 4 new shades to the range.

In it is 6 ml of product and the price is 11.99€.

It has a fluffy sponge applicator that is flat and fairly long. But I like applying the lipstick with it and it works great for that. It applies product really quickly and you can get precise edges.

Shade 707 is a muddy medium mauve shade (mix of pink and purple). It's that perfect wearable fall shade that might look like my-lips-but-better shade on more medium to dark skin tones.

It has a very pigmented creamy texture, that doesn't feel too thick or heavy. It applies with ease. This formula needs a very long time to dry down to a matte finish (depends on how thick it the layer, up to 1 hour - you can blot it down for an instant matte finish), but it does dry to a proper matte finish that isn't drying. That's what I like the most about it, it starts of as a shiny liquid lipstick and slowly becomes matte. Similar to Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor. Revlon formula is a bit sheerer and feels just a bit more comfortable creamy or even emollient than Paese. Just slightly more comfortable to wear, but Paese formula is also very nice to wear even on my dry lips. It's also long lasting.

It has an unpleasant artificial scent, but thankfully it doesn't linger on the lips.

On the bottom you can see how shiny it is right after application and then it becomes more matte. It can become even matter, depending on how long you wear it and how dry your lips are.

Swatches of both, lip pencil and liquid lipstick. These two could be used together, because of a similar shade.

The only shade of pencil that looked similar to Paese is Avon Ultra Glimmerstick Lip Liner in Pink Bouquet which is actually more vibrant pink and doesn't have that purple tint to it.

I swatched Make Up Factory Mat Lip Fluid in 61 Velvet Rosewood next to it. Before it dries down, it looks very similar to Paese. It's that same mauve shade, but it's slightly more brown toned. It dries down to a darker shade that looks more peachy brown mauve. But freshly swatched, these two are very similar. I also swatched Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte lipstick in Berry Blast which is darker and more of a plum shade. Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Divine Wine is similar in color, but cooler and slightly more purple toned. Catrice Supreme Fusion Lipcolor + Care in 070 Remarry Berry is a sheerer and more light purple plum shade.

I tried this lipstick when I was still about NC 15 skin tone which is the photo with my brown hair and then you can see how it looks like on my tan skin tone on the photo with blonde highlights.

Paese Nail Polish - 102

It comes in a transparent bottle with black plastic top. The range has 24 different shades.

In it is 9 ml of product and the price is 7€

Shade 102 is a true chalk white shade. It needs at least two coats to look even. It applies nicely and has regular thin straight cut brush. The pigmentation is actually impressive for a proper white nail polish. It lasts average for about two to three days on my weak nails. So I wasn't impressed by that. They promise you a high shine and it is shiny, but nothing like my shiny top coats. But the shade itself is actually really pretty.

Out of all the products I was most impressed with liquid matte lipstick and rice powder. Those two are a winners for me. Lip pencil was also really nice and I loved the creamy comfortable wear. Nail polish, mascara and primer were all fine, but didn't really impress me that much. I really like the color of the nail polish (could be more long lasting), the fact that mascara doesn't look clumpy (but could give more volume) and the smoothness of primer (but most of silicon primers feel the same). The shimmer pressed powder looks really lovely with that sheen, but it's just too dark for me to use as a highlighter. I also wouldn't use it for a bronzer on everyday basis. I'm just a bit confused by it and don't know really what to use it for, but quality wise this is a great product. Foundation was a total disappointment. I don't like that it has such a light coverage, looks really greasy on my skin after a few hours and oxidizes like crazy. It's a definite no for me.

In general I think this is a fairly good brand. Some products impressed me more than others. I think it's like with most brands, some products are worth the price and some you can get at a lot more affordable prices from drugstore. I would love to try some other Silky Matt shades as well as maybe some of their powder formulas- like highlighter Blaze Cheek Illuminator and Bamboo Powder. Those are the categorizes that I was impressed by the most. In terms of pricing it's in this range of brands like Kiko, which also has great packaging and good quality products.

You can buy their product on Paese website or in Orhideja Salon in Lipa 49 3320 Velenje. I asked and they told me that a physical Paese Store is coming our way, but it's still in the process. So I don't know where the location for it will be. Paese is sold in over 30 countries: Poland, Canary Islands, Romania, Cyprus, Ireland, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Seychelles, Finland, Latvia, Slovakia, France, Lithuania, France, Spain, Germany, Moldova, Sweden, Greece, Netherlands, UK, Hungary, Norway, Ukraine, Iceland, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Canada and Belarus.

Some of these product are newest launches and may not already be available in the shop, but they assured me these products are coming to the shop in fall.

Review: Essence Holo Rainbow Nail Polish - 01 Hello Holo

If you like glittery nail polishes, than this post is for you. I am a sucker for fun top coats. Essence usually has a lot of pretty ones for affordable prices. When I saw in promo photos that they'll add Holo Rainbow polishes, I knew I'll probably end up buying at least one shade. And I did.

In the range is 5 shades. This is the lightest more silver version. You can also get a slightly lighter lavender shade, pink, green and blue. In general they all have a lot of multi-reflective glitter in them. I believe the glitter is different colored, but it all reflects that sort of rainbow specter of colors.

It comes in a glass rounded bottle with a white plastic top

In it is 8 ml of nail polish and the price is 2.99€. I believe some of their effect top coats were a bit cheaper in the past, but it's still an affordable price.

It has a thinner straight cut brush which applies product smoothly and evenly.

It's the right consistency, not too runny nor too thick. With one coat you can cover most of the nail, but you'll still see the base color and you'll have left out spots here and there. If you apply two coats, you get completely opaque look. I mean glitter covering your entire nail and no base color showing through. I really like the fact that the glitter is so dense. If you're looking for something more sparse, just apply it with a half cleaned of brush or a sponge.

Shade 01 Hello Holo is a transparent base with silver shimmer that reflects rainbow colors. Holo should be named the product that reflects rainbow specter of colors. I've seen some videos on that topic, reviewing products that claim to be holo and are really not. I'm not an expert on holo, but these silver glitters reflect different colors of the rainbow. So in my eyes, that's pretty much close to being a holo. If it would be called unicorn glitter, it would be all the same to me. I bought it for the effect not the name.

It dries down fairy fast and it will leave a gritty textured finish. Especially if you apply two coats like I did on my ring finger. I would advise you to apply a shiny top coat over it to make it smooth and extra shiny. Not that it needs added shine, because people will definitely notice your nails anyway. I also applied it on my index finger and pinky, but almost as an accent ombre going from the cuticles down.

As much as I love the glittery reflective look of it, you can imagine it's a pain in the a** to take off. The denser you apply it, the harder it is to take it off. Just do a foiled technique with a good nail polish remover and you're good to go.

It's also very long lasting as you would have expect from a glitter nail polish.

Obviously I bought it purely because of the glittery effect. I absolutely love it. It's dense enough to cover entire nail with two coats, easy to apply evenly and  looks so pretty. It dries fairly fast and obviously lasts a really long time. Definitely get it, if you're like me and your heart skips a beat whenever you see something glittery.

Review: Makeup Revolution Pro HD Amplified 35 Palette - Luxe

$

So Makeup Revolution got its place in one of our drugstores - Tuš Drogerija. On that occasion Ličila.si sent us bloggers a package of few Makeup Revolution products. I like that it's now available in physical stores, because I find it to be affordable brand with good quality. It's especially nice for those that can't shop online. Here is my first part of this review and it's of Makeup Revolution Pro HD Amplified 35 Palette in shade Luxe

The palette comes with a black paper box. The packaging of the palette is that shiny black plastic material. It's actually quite a huge palette. I expected it to be smaller. It also has a huge mirror inside which is a big plus. You can do whole face of makeup using just this mirror and I love it for that.

In it is 30 grams of product and it costs 19.99€. You can buy it on Ličila.si or in Tuš Drogerija. You can also buy it on their official online store for 16.80£.

In this palette you'll find 35 different colors of eyeshadows. Luxe shade range is neutral warm. It has lots of gold, brown, copper, purple and even some green colors. These are basically my go to colors. I love warm toned shadows. Most are shimmery, but the last row is all mattes. So you get a nice variety of finishes as well as shades.

Btw Cocoa came broken, that's why it looks different textured. But I fixed it with a bit of alcohol.

The ingredients list for those interested in it.

Aesthetic - matte blue toned black (dry, better pigmented)

Some shades look really similar. There is some repetition going on and maybe that's due to the fact that they tried to put in one palette 35 shades. But then again I am also missing some shades. I miss more matte shades. One of the essentials shades for me is a bone colored matte shade that is in similar tone as my skin. I usually use this kind of matte shade to set a primer and make other shades blend better. It's also nice to highlight brow bone with it, if you don't like shimmery highlights. I also miss a darker matte brown shade. Cocoa is a medium shade, but I would like to have at least one darker. As far as shimmery shades goes, the selection is huge and there isn't really anything I miss.

The formula differs from shade to shade. Some are on the dry side, some are wet feeling and some even feel like a cream. Matte shades are actually very wet feeling, but they apply a bit chalky. Which is usual with matte shades. That doesn't mean the pigmentation is not there, because it is. It's just a different finish.

A lot of the shades also have a fallout. Matte shades all have it and most shimmery shades too. So it's best to apply eye makeup first and then your base. Especially, if you're using darker shades.

Pigmentation mostly depends on the formula. Those that are creamier and wetter, have better pigmentation. Dry textures have poorer pigmentation. In general, the pigmentation is actually good. You will need to build up the color and you loose intensity with blending, but it's a good quality nonetheless. They laso blend well with no problems. Just don't expect anything compared to Zoeva pigmentation for example or Too Faced palettes.

They are long lasting, but fade a bit through the day. I always use them with eye primer and none of the shades creased on me, even when it was still sweaty outside.

Here are some of the looks I've worn. I've tried almost every shade by now, maybe I left out 4. But I think I got a good test out of these to give you my final thoughts.

I won't pretend that I don't have similar shades in my other eye palettes, because I do. I love the selection of colors, because those type of colors are the ones I love wearing the most. I especially like gold and bronze variations as well as purples. Some of my favorite shades from this palette are Savage, Sell Out, WCW, Bye Felicia, Damn Girl, Werk, DM Me, Player and Cocoa. I'm just a bit spoiled from using better formulas, so I probably won't get much use out of this one on daily basis. But it's in no way bad.

The formula and pigmentation is different with every shade. But in general pigmentation is much better than in the Makeup Revolution palettes that I own from before. I feel like they made an effort and made them creamier, which also means more pigmented. It's still not nearly as good as my Zoeva palettes. But for a drugstore brand this is actually good. They last well (tend to fade a bit through the day), you need to build the color up (so more work, but you'll get there) and they don't crease on the lids, if you use an eyeshadow primer. If you want descent quality eyeshadows, love warm neutral colors and are looking for something that you can buy in the drugstore value then you might just like this one. It's a descent palette for the price.

Catrice came out with another very artistic and fashionable looking Limited Edition. It's in collaboration with a fashion designer Dawid Tomaszewski. I'm not up to date with fashion designers, so I haven't heard about him before, but I saw that the design was very appealing in its art deco feel. I was intrigued by matte lipsticks, although I haven't had much experience with Catrice lipstick formulas before. Today I'm showing you Wild Matt Lipstick from this range called C01 Unconventional Violet

It comes in metal rose gold packaging with a lovely lines design. I actually really like the packaging. It looks luxurious and the rose gold shade is on point.

It doesn't say how much is in it, but it's a standard lipstick tube and it costs 4.29€.

Even the bullet of the lipstick looks like it's leather. That's some really nice detail work. I was impressed. It also has Catrice sign embossed in it.

Shade C01 Unconventional Violet is a dark cool eggplant purple. I absolutely adore this shade. It's one of the few really dark lipstick shades in my collection. Not the shade you would wear on a daily, but a great vampy statement lip. Because it's so dark and cool toned it will also make your teeth look almost a bit whiter. It's not that typical purple that would contrast the yellowness of your teeth.

The formula is slippy enough to apply without tucking the lips, but it's definitely not as smooth as for example Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipsticks which feel almost silicon like and glide on like a dream. It feels a bit more waxy.

The pigmentation is average. I could even say that it looks sheer with just one swipe. You definitely need to go over it two or three times to get it opaque. That's my main issue. Then it starts to look thicker and can start feel heavy on the lips. It'n not the heaviest I've tried, but it's definitely not a lightweight formula. It also accentuates dry patches.

I also have a problem with its wear. It sort of becomes more drying the more I wear it. The formula is not sophisticated enough, so it starts to gather in the lines and can look cracked up when you smile, like I tried to show you on the photo below. It lacks some slip and movement

It also doesn't look completely even and it wears off uneven too. I guess that is to be expected with most darker formulas, but I still had high hopes.

Finish is definitely not completely matte like they describe it. It's more of a velvet finish, because you can still see some sheen on the lips.

It's not hydrating and it almost feels a bit drying over time. If you have dry lips, you need to prepare them. Hydrate them with a good lip balm and exfoliate in order to avoid dry feeling and making it look uneven.

It has a pleasant proper vanilla scent which I adore.

I love the shade and how it looks like on me, just wish the formula would be better.

In this Limited Edition you'll also find a lovely blushed pink coloredbeauty clutch. It has that same art deco design on it and the Dawid Tomaszewski logo.

The price of it is 5.29€.

It's actually a bit small for me to use it as a makeup bag, but I can put in a few lip products and a concealer to have in my bag on the go. It's very well made. It has leather look to it and seems durable.

The zipper is rose gold and works great. I just find the simplistic design and this color so pretty. Before I've never really liked pink things, but this year I'm all about those blushed dirty pink colors.

I love the shade of lipstick as well as luxurious design and packaging of it. Unfortunately, the formula disappointed me. I expected something more matte and more movable. It just seems a bit rigid. It feels a bit drying and heavy on the lips. Pigmentation is not all there and it can look uneven. In this Limited Edition you'll also find another red shade of lipstick. I have a feeling that the red would have a better formula. Just because darker shades can often times look more uneven.

Beauty clutch is just a lovely rose colored makeup bag to throw in the bag. I love the design of it and it will be a great decor piece.

There are some other luxurious pieces in this collection: eyeshadow palette, eye pencils, nail polishes and cream highlighter. Ivona already reviewed eyeshadow palette. Check it out here. Ana also talks about their eyeshadow palette as well as that red lipstick shade. Click here for her review.

Limited Edition is already available in Müller. It should also be available in DM, Tuš Drogerija, Ličila.si and Click2Chic.si.

Review: Avon Mark Nail Style Studio Pink Illusions - Digital Illusion and Glam Rock

Avon has a new range called Mark Nail Style Studio Pink Illusions. These are all different finishes and effects mostly in the pink family. Two have gel finish, one is satin matte, one is metallic finish and one is 3D glitter finish. These may be intended to use on their own, but the shades are so light and sheer that I almost look at these as a toppers. Read on to see how I combined them with other colored nail polishes.

These come in a regular square glass bottle with a white plastic top. The brush inside is straight cut and on the thinner side. It works fine for applying nail polish. In it is 10 ml of product and the regular price is 5.90€. Currently they are going to be on offer for 3.30€ (Slovenia).

Digital Illusion

This is what Avon describes as a satin matte finish. It's the only shade that confuses me as it's not really pink and the range is called Pink Illusions.

The base looks like a very pale and sheer white color. It might have just a hint of pink in it, but I don't really notice it. If you look at it at a certain angle, you see this dark green blue sheen which is small shimmer in it.

If you apply it on the nails on its own, it can looks very sheer with a greenish blue sheen and a satin matte finish or it can look a lot more white based. Depending on how much you apply it. I feel like the more you apply, the less matte it looks. Like those thicker layers loose that true satin matte finish. On the photos below you can see different versions. From left to right: one coat, two coats, three coats.

I love a satin matte finish. It's not completely matte, because the shimmer in it gives it that satin feeland sheen. It's really pretty, but very sheer in a way and very light.

I applied it over a muddy olive shade (Avon Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Stonewashed Clay) and it turned it into a grey blue shade with small shimmer. I love how it transformed that base color into something totally different and it gives it that lovely matte finish with small shimmers.

Glam Rock

This is a 3D glitter finish or so it's described by Avon. It looks salmon pink colored with a purple sheen to it, if you look at it from the angle.

I would describe it as a sand finish, because it has small particles in it that give it that 3D look, but it's definitely not glittery or shimmery. It's again on the sheer side and you definitely need at least two coats to make it look cute, but I also tried applying three coats. The more coats you apply the less textured it looks.

The cool purple sheen is not as noticeable on its own, it comes in play more when you apply it over a colored nail polish base.

On the photos below you can see different versions. From left to right: one coat, two coats and three coats.

I decided to apply it over a sky blue shade (Kiko Nail Lacquer 338 Light Lavender) and it made it look pearly purple. It gave it that frosty look with a purple sheen that sometimes looks pink toned and sometimes more blue toned. This combination looks so pretty, almost magical. The 3D finish isn't as noticeable as if you apply it on its own, but it's still there.

Both of these have a sheer and more liquid formula. The pigmentation is definitely sheer. Application is easy with both shades. It's even applied and can be build up as many times as you want. They both dry fairly fast and that's when you get to see their true finishes.

They also both lasted above average on my nails. For about 3 to 4 days before there was any chipping and even that didn't look as bad as with some other regular nail polishes. Glam Rock is a textured polish so it obviously lasts longer without chipping, but Digital Illusion was just as long lasting. Which is surprising for a matte finish. It's probably due to a thin formula.

These are cool effect nail polishes to use on its own or apply over a colored base to give it a different feel. The formula is nice to apply, dries fast and they both actually last a fairly long time on my nails.

Avon ima novo linijo lakov imenovano Mark Nail Style Studi Pink Illusions. Vsi imajo drugačne finiše in so večinoma iz roza družine barv. V nadaljevanju si poglejte kako sem sama kombinirala ta dva odtenka z barvnima podlagama.

Imajo običajno kvadratasto stekleničko s plastičnim belim pokrovom. Čopič je ravno odrezan in malo tanjši. Z njim z lahkoto nanašamo lak. V laku je 10 ml izdelka in redna cena je 5.90€. Trenutno bodo na voljo za 3.30€ tukaj.

Digital Illusion

Ni popolnoma mat, ker mu bleščice dajejo rahel sijaj. Je zelo lep, ampak precej prosojen in izredno svetel odtenek.

Nanesla sem ga preko umazano olivnega odtenka (Avon Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Stonewashed Clay) in nastal je sivo moder odtenek z majhnimi bleščicami.

Glam Rock

Oba laka imata bolj prosojno in tekočo formulo. Pigmentacija je zagotovo bolj prosojna. Nanašata se z lahkoto in enakomerno.

Minili so trije do štirje dnevi, preden sem opazila kakšno okrušenost.

September 2017 Favorites

This month I'm mostly featuring new products in my favorites. It has been a month of various new products testing and some really impressed me. I also have a few other favorites, especially tv shows I've been loving watching.

Avon Bubble Gum Bubble Bath

This is a blast from the past. To me it smells like those Bazooka chewing gums and I love it. A true pink bubble gum scent. In general I love Avon Bubble Baths, because you get a huge amount for affordable prices. These also create a lot of foam, although it does vanish after time. It also gives off a subtle, but noticeable scent that makes your whole bathroom smell nice. This Bubble Gum scent is super cute.

Bilou Chocolate Cupcake Cremiger Duschschaum

My first shower foam ever. I have to say I like this more out of the pure joy of using a foam instead of a regular shower gel than the actual scent. The Chocolate Cupcake to me smells like that slightly burnt brownie or chocolate muffin. It has a chocolaty sweet scent with a hint of baking burnt scent to it. I love it, but it could be more chocolate like. I especially like dense white foam that comes out of the bottle. It spreads on the body easily and is just a pure joy to use. The scent lingers on my body for a while.

Avon Naturals Sensational Wild Berries And Pomegranate Yoghurt Body Shake

I remember when I first smelled this in the catalog. It was a love at first sniff. It smells sweet of berries but with a creamier note to it. It's one of the best scented body products I've used in a while. Not only that, I also love the formula. It's a thicker white cream, that actually feels lightweight on the skin, but leaves a slightly shiny layer. It's like the perfect lightweight, yet slightly greasy cream for your body, if you have dry skin. You need a bit more to blend it in completely, because it can leave white residue, but it's easily spreadable and feels kind of nourishing.

CeraVe Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin

I think this was recommended to me by Vesna from Chunky Cheeks. She also had problems with eczema and mine has just gotten worse and worse lately. I was so happy that I found this cream on iHerb and since it was affordable, I gave it a go. Because of eczema I have very dry skin on my hands and regular heavily perfumed hand creams are just further irritating the problem. I read that ceramides are the key ingredient to look for, as they strengthen skin's barrier and prevent further irritation. This is a universal cream for normal to dry skin, but it has ceramides and hyaluronic acid in it. It's a firm white cream that feels lightweight and spreads with ease. It soaks into almost nothing and looks velvet matte on the skin. But you can definitely feel a nourishing layer on top of the skin. It feels like it protects the skin and keeps it moisturized. It also has no noticeable scent, which I love. It's that perfect invisible, but still nourishing and moisturizing cream that I use on my hands every day.

Avon Anew Reversalist Infinite Effects Night Treatment Cream

If you follow Caroline Hirons, you've probably heard about this. She talked about it here. I trust her reviews, because she seems well read and has a lot of experience and since I saw this product in a pre-promotion for an affordable price, I got it. I am 28 years old and feel like I have to step up on this anti-aging game. I haven't tried any retinol based products before and that was the main reason I tried this. I am still afraid of retinol and those harsher ingredients, especially because of my sensitive skin. It's in my favorites purely because of the texture of the cream from side 1. I have been using it for almost 2 weeks (retinol side for only 6 days) so I can't say if it really works. But the texture of both creams is firm, lightweight and has just enough of the nourishing layer to it, that it can be used on its own. I think it's good for normal, combination and oily skin. Very dry skin, might need to use something over it for more moisture. It has an artificial scent to it, which is not bad, but it's nothing distinctive either. Side 1 is just really lovely. I'm not sure about side 2 yet. I was putting it all over my face as well as around the eyes, as this is the area that I want to correct - small wrinkles. But after about 5 days of using side 2 I noticed my skin around eyes becoming sensitive, drier and just more irritated. I think it might have been a bit too strong for my under eyes. Ont he rest of my face I didn't feel any discomfort. I'll use it more and then do a full review.

It's one of the best loose powders I've tried. I like it so much because it's so finely milled, never makes me look cakey, has a transparent white color and keeps my skin matte for longer. It sort of feels like it absorbs excessive sebum through the day. It won't keep my skin matte for the whole day, but it does prolong the matte effect. I usually get really oily around my nose and chin area. With this one you can reapply it and it never really looks odd. I believe it's due to the fact that it feels so light. If they came out with a compact version of this, I would be even more thrilled.

This is such a great affordable highlighter. If you like that more natural sheen on the skin with no visible shimmer, but a really nice glow from withing look, you'll absolutely love it. Swatched it looks meh, but on the skin it looks like perfection. It's more of a cool toned sheen than for example my Becca Moonstone or theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer, but it looks a lot more natural than both of these. For the price you really can't go wrong with it. Only downside, it's not for a very fair skin tones. I still have some leftover summer tan so I'm fine.

Essence Hololighter Brush

Before I got this, I didn't even know I need a precision brush for highlighting. It's almost like a large fluffy blending brush for eyes, but it works so great as a detail brush for applying highlighter. With this you can really concentrate that glow only on a certain part. Like the very top of your cheeks, under the brow bone, on top of the brow bone, down the center of the nose... You can also just use it for those highlighters that are really pigmented and you don't want to apply those heavily, but just on a certain part of the cheek for example. It's super fluffy, soft and picks up the product well. My only complaint is the holo handle design which has already started to rub off mine and the fact that the brush handle is shorter than most of my other brushes so it's harder to scoop it out from my makeup brush holder.

E.l.f. Highlighting Brush

I like it so much that I already ordered another one. I have to say E.l.f. face brushes are one of the bets affordable brushes that you can get. I love their Blush Brush as well as Ultimate Blending Brush and Small Tapered Brush. Their brushes are super soft, don't shed and really affordable. This brush can definitely be used for highlighting, if you like a more overall glow look, but I really like it for contouring. It has that perfect tapered tip that is small enough for a precise contour and it blends it out perfectly. This could also be used for a blush or precise powder placement.

I feel like I never talk about this, but it's one of my have-to-have-in-my-stash-at-all-times product. This is the perfect grey toned light brown color for my brows. My natural brows are a bit more grey than this pencil, but my hair color is warmer, so I like my brows to be slightly warmer too. It's a more hard pencil, which means it won't budge through the day and it stays put. It's not the best if you want super precise application or for drawing in individual hairs, but this is great for when you just want a bit more color to your brows and you want it to be done quickly. I always have one of these at hand. I also love the spoolie on the other side. Perfect for brushing through the hair and softening the color.

Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow 01 Solar Explosion

I've used this even more than the 02 Stars & Stories color that I bought before this. It's a metallic golden shade with silver and gold shimmers. I love applying this on the inner corners or on top of colorful eyeshadows to add the sparkle. It can look opaque metallic or sparsely shimmery. Once it dries it doesn't move. Amazing product for the price, if you want something metallic and shimmery or almost glittery.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor 645 HD Forever

I give this the award for the most comfortable liquid matte lipstick formula ever. It feels like you're wearing ultra nourishing lip balm/lip gloss hybrid which eventually dries down to a matte finish. If you have constantly dry lips like me, try it. I'm sure you'll love it. I already have Devotion which is a pink shade and I don't wear pinks on every day basis. So when I saw a discount on these I didn't hesitate on buying another more nude version. Forever is essentially a brown color, but it has a mauve pink undertone to it. So it's very my-lips-but-better kind of shade. I still want to get Seduction, but it just felt so similar to my other nude shades, so I got this one instead. To me this is a perfect fall nude shade and it just sits so comfortably on the lips.

While we're on the topic of matte liquid lipstick, I have to mention this one by Paese as well. It's not as comfortable as Revlon. It's more of a true really liquid and pigmented matte liquid lipstick formula, but it's a lot more comfortable than most I've tried. This one as well doesn't feel drying on the lips and the color 707 is just perfect medium mauve shade for fall. I was expecting it to be more drying, but it feels a lot more comfortable on the lips than I expected.

As a nail polish contender in this monthly favorites, I had to include this one by Essence. How can I not like a glittery topper?! It looks magical and totally unicorn worthy in my opinion. For a glittery nail polish it is surprisingly densely packed with glitters and you only need two coats to completely cover the nail. It will stay on your nails for days. I hate taking it off, but because the glitter is very small, it's not too difficult.

The Catch

I was just starting to get into this TV show when it was over on Fox Life and I realized they won't be making another season. Apparently it didn't have enough views which sucks for me. I really liked it. It had a bit of humor, action and romance. I grew to love the characters. Mireille Enos, the lead actress, looked especially pretty with her red hair and I loved how "classy" these con men dressed.

Source

Imposters

Another TV show that I started to watch now and have been really liking it. It's about a young woman who is a con artist that marries different people and then disappears with their money. I find it interesting as a character, because I can't imagine someone living like her. The past catches up to her, because three of her ex-husbands and even an ex-wife, decide to hunt her down while they also become very good in coning other people, since they don't have financial resources to go after her (she took all of their money). Imdb describes it as a dark comedy, but I get more of a drama from it. It even has some disturbing action scenes in it. It's basically similar to The Catch with younger cast and darker side to it.

Review: Avon Anew Essential Youth Maximising Sheet Mask

Seems like everyone is jumping on that sheet mask bandwagon. Avon came out with their version and of course, I wanted to try it. I'm really liking this sheet mask trend, although I've had the best experiences with mostly Asian sheet masks. They know their sheet game best.

Avon Anew Essential Youth Maximising Sheet Mask comes in a gold plastic packaging. It looks more rose gold on my photos. In the package you get one sheet mask and the regular price of it is 6€. Currently it's on offer for 2.50€ (Slovenia) and I got it in a pre-sale for 1.90€

Here is the ingredients list. Avon promotes this mask as a youth maximising sheet mask that contains retinol. And it does, but it's very low on the ingredients list and it doesn't say what kind of percentage is in it. I was curious, if the ingredients are similar to the serum from this range that I've tried before and really liked - Avon Anew Essential Youth Maximising Serum, but the list is not as similar as I thought it would be.

The sheet mask is made out of white thicker and denser fabric, but it's not as thick as for example Balea Beauty Effect sheet mask or those new ones Cool Melon, Fancy Pomegranate and Sweet Mango masks. It still sticks well to the skin and is well saturated with essence

The essence is transparent, light and watery. It doesn't have that slimy viscose feel that some sheet masks have. It comes well saturated and there is some leftover essence that you can use through the days that follow.

The sheet is very tight around the eyes, which I like, because I want retinol products to work especially around my eye areas. But it can be very tight feeling. It also has a very small hole for the lips and it's sort of upwards cut out, which just looks funny. Maybe it's just me, but I don't know anyone that has that perfect uplifted lip shape. It covers nose well, although mine is a bit longer than most noses.

It also has a cut down the cheek that makes it easier for you to pull up lower part of the mask and get a tight fit around the chin. I like that, because some sheet masks can pull the sides of my face and it just doesn't fit that nice. It also has a small rounded part on one side of the mask, which looks like the part that you want to use to pull it off. I find that kind of funny.

The scent is very subtle, sort of soapy, but nothing too familiar.

At first it feels cooling on the skin and then it almost starts to feel slightly tingly, but it's more of a warming effect really and it's not irritating at all, it just feels slightly tingly. I assume this could be due to a retinol. The sheet never gets completely dry. It says to leave it on for 15 minutes, but I had it on for about 30 minutes.

The essence absorbs into the skin well, but it leaves a slight sticky layer behind which disappears after a while.

My skin looks more even toned, nourished and moisturized. The fine lines around my eyesdon't look any less visible or less deep. It doesn't leave a sheen on the skin, skin just looks plumper and nourished. It's not too heavy and I think it's appropriate for all skin types. It almost feels a bit soothing and it's definitely not irritating. I have a sensitive skin type and I didn't have any problems with it.

I like the effect that this mask gives me. It makes my skin nourished, slightly moisturized, evens out skin tone and is not too heavy. It didn't blew me away as some Asian sheet masks did that have the same or lower price tag. For someone that wants to try the sheet mask for the first time and want something with a bit of retinol in it, it's not bad. I advice you to try it now that the price is still affordable.

Maske v lističih so mi všeč in želim jih preizkusiti čim več, čeprav sem do sedaj imela najboljše izkušnje ravno z azijskimi znamkami.

Sama imam občutljivo kožo in nisem imela nobenih problemov s to masko.

If there's one season that gets me color wise, it's fall. Rich reds, warm browns, mossy greens, berry plums...those are one of my favorite colors to wear as a clothing as well as makeup. I think it suits me best and I love the richness yet muted feel of these colors. Today's look is my favorite combination of gold, green and brown. I had to showcase my new fall lip love - NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Berlin.

I always do my makeup in a similar pattern, so I wanted something just slightly different this time. I've been seeing a lot of cut crease looks and I wanted to see how that would look like on my eye shape. If you're eyes are smaller like mine and kind of hooded, it's not the ideal eye look. Maybe go above the natural crease line and it would look prettier.

I started my eye makeup with a bone colored matte shade to set the eyeshadow primer. Then I took a warm light matte brown to slightly define the crease and above. In the actual crease I applied a mixture of warmer and cooler matte brown shades to define it more. Then I took a concealer and tried to carve out my crease so that the color on top of it would look more vibrant.

For the lid I chose a sparkly golden green shade. Because it's so light, the cut crease effect almost got lost, but it was an experiment. I also took a dark matte brown shade and slightly deepened outer v. For the liner I chose a moss green khol as a base. Then I went over with a more vibrant darker green to set it, since khol is not as long lasting and can move a bit through the day.

I took a metallic light gold shade with shimmer and applied it in the inner corners for some added sparkle and light. I also outlined the winged liner part on the outer side as well as in the inner part of the wing. I also like putting shimmery shades on the lower inner corner of the eye. I feel like it opens up my eye more and makes them look bigger.

I finished with a volumising mascara. Some may say this look needs lashes and I agree, but I couldn't be bothered. I don't wear false eyelashes on a daily and I often times think they hide the gorgeous work you did on the lid. For a more natural effect I prefer a few clusters of individual lashes. It looks more natural and gives you a nice fuller effect, but doesn't look too fake.

On my face I used foundation, concealer and a bit of powder on the center of my face. I also used bronzer as an all over sun kissed look. For highlighting part I used a shimmery champagne gold shade. I didn't want anything colorful on the cheeks, so I just used a neutral peachy brown shade just to give me a hint of color.

The star that takes this look to fall season is a matte warm brown liquid lipstick. I love this shade and it matches so well with the warmth of my eye color. It's kind of my perfect brown for fall.

This look features a sparkly eyes with a green winged liner look paired with warm cheeks and a perfect rich brown color on the lips. I love the combination of these colors and the contrast of sparkly eyes and matte lips. It's a bit of drama, but still wearable enough for my personal taste.
