Review: Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamel - Fall 2017 Shades

I think that I'm always most excited for fall nail polish colors. I just adore fall color palette and Avon usually makes some unique nail polish shades. I've just remembered last year's fall collection, which I adored. Because let's be honest, most drugstore brands have similar colors, although there are exceptions. Here are the new fall colors of Avon Mark Gel Shine Nail Enamels.

They have regular square glass bottle with a plastic top. In each is 10 ml of product. The regular price is 6.50€. Currently in Slovenia they have an offer 2 for 5.50€

The brush is thinner and straight cut. I'm quite used to it by now, because I love wearing nail polishes from this Gel Shine line. It's my favorite  nail polish line from Avon.

The texture of these nail polishes is very creamy and not too thick, but also not thin in consistency. They have good pigmentation, but mostly need at least two coats. Olive-it is the only shade that I feel can be one coater, if you apply a thicker coat.

The drying time is fairly quick, but it also depends on how thick your coats are. I don't have a problem with drying, because I always use a fast drying top coat on top. They dry down to a nice shine

Now let's go onto the actual shades. This year the color range is slightly cooler with some muted shades as well as certain pops of color.

Berry Me

Medium cool toned brighter pink. It's the one shade that looks the least fall like to me. For some reason I feel like this is more of a spring or summer color. It should be more muted to look more berry in my opinion.

Berry Nutty

Light warm muddy brown. This is actually my favorite color of all of these. It's the perfect nude brown shade for the fall. It's kind of light, but has that slight warm purple feel to it and it just goes with everything. I guess it represents a nuts kind of color, hence the name.

Head In Clouds

Light cool grey. I'm a more warm toned person, but there have been several times that I was searching through my nail polish collection for a grey color and didn't find it. Now I have it. It's a dreamy pastel shade for cool toned lovers. Even I like it, as it turns slightly olive based on my skin tone.

Moody

Medium cool grey. The name describes it perfectly. When I think of moody, I think of grey. It's again one for cool toned lowers. This is more of a proper grey shade and it can look almost dark on light skin tones.

Olive-it

Light muddy mint green. This is again one of my favorites, because it looks so unique. It reminds me of retro mint green furniture. It's not a typical mint green shade, because it's more muted in color and looks slightly muddy. I really like it.

Spiked Punch

Medium muddy coral. This is again quite unique. It actually looks slightly more pink toned in real life than it does on my photos. On my skin tone it turns more orange, but it's like a mix of pink and orange - so coral with a muddy brown feel to it. It's muted as most of these fall shades. To me this reminds me more of the pumpkins.

I like Avon Mark Gel Shine formula, because it's nicely creamy, not too thick and not too thin. The brush is thinner, but easy to work with and they dry fairy fast. I also love the fact that Avon often times updates their Gel Shine range with new colors and the fact that they often times come out with more unique colors. New fall 2017 collection is no exception. My absolute favorite is Berry Nutty. I also really like Olive-it and Head In Clouds. Spiked Punch is another unique color. I also don't mind a classic grey that is Moody. Berry Me is the only shade that I feel like it doesn't really go with fall theme, but the shade is not bad. I just wouldn't really wear it in fall time. What are your favorite colors?

Jesenska barvna paleta me navdušuje in Avon ima vedno kakšen unikaten odtenek laka.

So moja najljubša Avonova linija lakov.

Berry Me

Berry Nutty

Svetlo toplo umazano rjava.

Head In Clouds

Svetlo hladno siva. No zdaj ga imam.

Olive-it

Svetlo umazano mentolno zelena. Spominja me na retro mentolno zeleno pohištvo. Ni tipično mentolno zelena, ker deluje skoraj bolj zamolklo in umazano. Res mi je všeč.

Spiked Punch

Srednje umazano koralna.

Zelo všeč sta mi tudi Olive-it in Head In Clouds.

Review: Essence Longlasting Eye Pencil - 29 Berry Fantastic

This fall I had a vision of deep red eyeliner and I took a look in our drugstores first. When I saw a deep burgundy colored pencil by Essence I was ecstatic. At home, I realize the pen inside is not as red as I would have like it to be. It was more purple. After my disappointment wore off, I actually tried it on the eyes and realized it's not that bad. The color isn't what I expected it to be, but it's a lovely deep purple shade perfect for fall.

It comes in a plastic burgundy packaging with white writing. The pen is automatic, you just swirl the bottom of it and it comes out.

In it is 0.28 grams of product and it costs 1.59€.

At first it has a sharp point which becomes thicker as you as you useit up. I would like at least a plastic sharpener for these automatic pencils, but sadly there is none. Keep in mind that you can't get the most precise line by just using the pen on its own.

I usually roughly apply it on the lid and then use a small angled liner brush to draw a more precise line or a wing. Pencil can also look kind of patchy and thick once you press it on the skin, so it's nice to even it out with a brush.

Shade 29 Berry Fantastic is a warm dark purple shade with red undertone. I expected it to be more red toned based on the packaging of it, but it looks a lot more purple on the skin, especially if you apply more layers. The shade is actually perfect for fall.

Texture is creamy and kind of thicker in a way, but not greasy at all. If you apply it as it is, you get a more uneven application. Because it's so creamy, it's great for smudging out and doing smoky eye with it. The more layers you apply, the darker and thicker it looks. As I've said before, I think it's best to apply it on the lid and then blend it out with a brush. That way you get the smoothest and most even application. Pigmentation is actually great.

Even though the formula is creamy, it doesn't transfer once it sets on the lid or you smooth it out with a brush. It stays put through the whole day and is actually very long lasting

Here I used it in a slight winged out option and I love colorful version of the usual black line. It's perfect for fall and it compliments many eye colors. This would look even better with green eyes.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadow - Moonwalk

Essence LE Coast 'n' chill Velvet Matt Liquid Lipstick - 02 Smooth & Groove

This is a creamy pen formula that isn't too greasy nor so dry that it would pull on the skin. It's a no sharp pencil, so it's not the most precise, but if you use with a brush, you can get a very even application. It's great for smudging out or building up the color and making it darker. It's also very long lasting. The color is perfect for fall, a warm redish purple.

Review: Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Shine and Matte (All Colors)

Liquid lipstick trend, especially matte, is probably one of the most widely popular trends. I feel like everyone owns at least one matte liquid lipstick. It's one of those trends that is here to stay or so it seems. Obviously Avon also decided to create their version. A bit late, but better late then never. I was very excited to test out Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquers Shine and Matte. Based on my previous experience with Avon lipstick formulas my expectations were high.

They came out with two versions Shine and Matte. In each range is currently 10 shades, but I have a feeling they'll be expanding the range, if they sell well. The color range is what I would say a very basic. The selection includes some nudes, reds, pinks and purples. I am mostly missing more unique shades like brick oranges, rich browns and darker shades in general. I wouldn't mind more neutral nude shades either. Avon usually does a more basic color range and then later they extend it sometimes, so I hope they'll add more unique shades like they often times do with their nail polishes.

The packaging of these is a transparent plastic with black plastic top. Shine range has a shiny plastic top and matte range has a matte plastic top. It has a simplistic white writing on it and is in general very small, but a bit bulky. Still travel friendly.

In it is 7 ml of product and the regular price is 9.50€. On the launch day they're on offer for 4.90€ (from 19th October in Slovenia).

I like the fact that you can see the part that takes off the product from a wand. It kind of makes it interesting to watch and maybe it's the fact that most liquid lipsticks don't have that part visible, so you never really see it.

The applicator has a petal shape, but looks triangular, if you look at it from sides. It's flat and not too wide, so you can get a fairly nice outline. My problem with it is that it holds too much product. I usually just apply it on the center of my lips first and when I take off most of product, then I go and fix the sides. It's quite fluffy, it could even be less frayed, which would make it more precise in my opinion.

You have a sticker with the name of the shade on the bottom.

Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Shine

Formula of shine lacquers is thicker creamy consistency and it feels like a regular lipstick and lip gloss mixture. It sticks to the lips well and is actually well pigmented. It has just slight stickiness to it, but not as much as for example their lip glosses. It almost feels kind of silicony. Avon describes it as a formula with gel primer

The finish that it leaves on the lips is shiny, but not to the point of being like a high shine lip gloss. For some reason these reminded me of Too Faced Melted Latex Lipsticks, just in the way they look -pigmented and shiny.

I can feel a slight cooling and tingling sensation when I'm applying these and it lasts for a few minutes. They definitely have some sort of plumping ingredient in it. It goes away and I don't find it particularly irritating, but it's again unnecessary especially for us with dry and easily irritated lips.

They have a very interesting and odd smell, all at once. It doesn't remind me of anything, but it almost smells kind of fruity, although some shades seem like they don't have any scent to it. Odd really.

They stick to the lips very well and can actually be fairly long lasting for such a creamy and shiny product. But it can start to gather around the inner rim of your lips and that can look unappealing. So I advise you to stay away from putting too much on the inner part of the lips and always take some of it off with a finger trick. Although it may gather in the center again, as you talk and smack your lips together. You also need to regularly check if you have some lipstick on your teeth, but that happens with most liquid lipsticks anyway. It wears off in a less shiny stain version. That is, if you can leave it on for so long. I usually just reapply it or take it off, before it disappears from my inner part of the lips.

This is the kind of formula that you'll notice you're wearing it, but it also feels kind of soothing, because of such a thicker glossy feel that it gives to the lips.

Blushing - light dusty baby pink (can look chalky, because it's so white based and it also doesn't seem to be really evened out once on the lips)
Nudeitude - light neutral brown (well pigmented and even looking)
Love Spell - light cool violet (well pigmented and even looking)
It Girl - medium magenta fuchsia (well pigmented and even looking)
Love Bite - medium pink red (well pigmented and even looking)
Redhead - medium orange with purple shimmer (slightly sheerer and can look a bit patchy)
Lacquered Up - medium vibrant pink red (seems slightly sheerer but not as much as Redhead and it does look even)
Work It - medium classic red (well pigmented and even looking)
Pouty - medium cool mauve with silver shimmer (slightly sheerer like Lacquered Up but even looking)
Caffeined - dark warm maroon brown (well pigmented and even looking)

My absolute favorite shades are Nudeitude and Caffeined. I also really like Redhead (shocker I know), Work It and Pouty. The most unique shade out of these for me is Love Spell. I don't own anything like it. The only shade that I think really doesn't suit me or is just not my style is Blushing which is too much of a Barbie pink for me and it seems too light for my complexion right now.

I think the shine version looks ultra sexy on the lips, but is perhaps not the most practical formula to wear. You have to constantly check that you don't have it on your teeth or that it starts to gather on the inner rim of your lips. Formula itself feels kind of soothing and is not too sticky as you would expect from the shiny finish, but it also has that annoying plumping feeling which I could totally do without. I don't know why Avon keeps insisting on putting plumping ingredients into some of their latest lip products.

So the packaging of Matte version is pretty much the same, as it's the applicator. I just put photos in so that you can see for yourself.

Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte

Formula is like a thicker whipped mousse. It's actually thicker and more pigmented than for example NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream formula. That one looks sheerer and you need to build it up more, but these by Avon are more of a one swipe color. The problem is that the mousse is thicker and since there's a lot of it on applicator, it can look gritty once on the lips. So I advise you to apply it with a light hand and then go over it with your finger to slightly even it out as well as sheer it out. I always just use my finger and go across the lips to get rid of the thickness of the product and it makes it look much nicer.

Finish is definitely matte. If you apply it thicker, it can have a slight creamy sheen to it, but if you smooth it out with a finger you get an instant matte effect no need for it to dry down. For example with NYX formula I have to wait for it to dry down, because it has more of that sheen. They also don't feel sticky or anything, like some proper very liquid matte lipsticks can.

Since it is a mousse formula, you would think that it feels heavy on the lips, but it doesn't. It sort of goes on the lips smoothly and feels slightly silicon like (again that gel primer thing going on here), but not greasy or slippy. It dries down immediately and stays that way through the day. It doesn't further dry out the lips, but it also doesn't particularly moisturize them either.

The scent is again different from shade to shade. With some I don't really smell anything and some have a bit of that artificial scent to it, which is not pleasant, but thankfully doesn't linger on the lips.

These are actually very long lasting, although they do transfer. The formula sort of stays put on the lips through the day, but because it's so mousse like, it can disappear from the inner rim of the lips with eating and drinking. So you might need to reapply it in the center every now and then. But that also means that it's not overly drying, which I always prefer. However, if you want something ultra lasting and budge proof, this won't be for you. Also, always do the finger trick to get rid of the excessive lipstick from the inner part of the lips as it can transfer on your teeth, since it's not a budge proof formula.

You can also mix these together. I especially love mixing the darkest shade - Passion It with other lighter shades like for example TKO to create a deeper mauve purple. Or you can use lighter shades as Whipped Latte to highlight on the center of the lip and give you that ombre effect.

Pinking About You - pale dusty baby pink (chalky white based color, so it can look uneven)
Whipped Latte - pale beige brown (another more white based color, but not as chalky as Pinking About You, but it can also look a bit uneven)
Dare To Be Bare - light warm caramel brown (well pigmented and even looking)
TKO - medium bright magenta fuchsia (well pigmented and even looking)
Flushed - medium red pink (well pigmented and even looking)
Fabulosity - medium cool blue based purple (a bit sheerer and can look uneven)
Orange You Happy - medium warm orange (well pigmented and even looking)
Head Turner - medium vibrant pink red (well pigmented and even looking)
Irresistible - medium classic red (well pigmented and even looking)
Passion It - dark burgundy (a bit sheerer in color and can look uneven)

On my lip swatches you can actually see that grittiness I talk about. I applied lipsticks heavily to get the best color swatch and I didn't know that I have to smooth it out with my finger in order for it to look more even. I realized that later as I was testing them out.

My absolute favorite shades are Dare To Be Bare, Orange You Happy (so pretty!), Irresistible and Passion It. I also really like Flushed. The two shades that don't suit me at all are Pinking About You (too light for my skin tone right now) and Whipped Latte (that concealer or dead look on my skin tone now). Most unique shade out of these all is Fabulosity which is so interesting to me.

I love this formula for these reasons the most: it's enough lightweight formula, it doesn't feel drying on the lips and the pigmentation is great for such a mousse formula. Yes, you need to apply thinner coats and make sure you smooth it out, if you've applied too much and it transfers, which would be a minuse for some. But I prefer comfort over budge proof. They are long lasting, just not budge proof. I think those of you that like more comfortable formulas and prefer something that isn't drying on the lips, will love it. Lovers of a true cement matte liquid lipsticks will probably hate it.

Dupes

I tried to compare it to my other shades from my stash to give you an idea of which colors are similar. I know it helps me to decided which to get, so hopefully this helps you too.

Nudeitude is swatched next to Trend It Up High Shine Lipgloss in 150 which is lighter and more neutral brown. MAC Velvet Teddy is more similar in color to Nudeitude, but it's a bit more warm toned while Nudeitude seems to have more pink base to it. Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Choco Latte is darker and more red toned brown.

Pouty seemed the most similar to Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Divine Wine. Pouty is darker and more purple. Divine Wine has a similar tone and even the shimmery sheen, but it's lighter in color and not as plum toned.

Caffeined is very similar to Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Truffle. Truffle is sheerer therefor it looks lighter, but I'm sure the pigments used in both are the same.

Love Bite is similar to Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Reddy To Go. These could be dupes. Reddy To Go looks just a hair darker, but the tone is the same. I also swatched it next to Makeup Revolution lipstick in Not In love, but that one is actually lighter and more vibrant pink.

It Girl is definitely the same as Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Plumping Plum. I don't see a difference between these two.

Redhead doesn't have a dupe, because it's kind of unique in its cool purple sheen. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte lipstick in Coral Fever is darker and more cool toned red. Avon True Colour Perfect Reds in Poppy Love is more similar in the color, but seems more red toned against Redhead which seem slightly more pink next to it.

Work It seems most similar to Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Rebel Red. Rebel Red has a more obvious blue undertone and it looks slightly darker.

Dare To Be Bare I swatched next to NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in London. London is actually lighter and slightly more yellow toned brown. Dare To Be Bare compared to it looks more peach based. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte lipstick in Marvelous Mocha is more similar, but a tad darker and it has even warmer bronze orange tint to it. Dare To Be Bare compared to it looks more neutral in tone.

TKO is swatched next to Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Plumping Plum. Plumping Plum is similar, but has a definite cool blue tone to it. Avon True Supreme Nourishing lipstick in Supple Magenta has a bit warmer pink tone to it, but it also has slight cool blue sheen to it with a purple shimmer.

Flushed doesn't have a duper, but I tried to swatch it next to similar shades. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte lipstick in Ruby Kiss is a more classic red with blue undertone. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte lipstick in Ravishing Rose has that similar pinky red tone, but is a lot more red than Flushed, which is more purple toned. Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Reddy To Go is a lighter and more vibrant redish pink, but is actually the most pink out of all of these.

Orange You Happy is very similar to MAC Lady Danger. You almost can't see the difference. I think Lady Danger is just a tad bit more yellow toned therefore has slightly more orange tint to it. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte lipstick in Coral Fever is similar, but slightly more red toned, although it also has a bit of that orange tint to it, just not as much.

Head Turner is very similar to Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Rebel Red. They are both a classic red, but Rebel Red has a slightly more obvious blue undertone. Head Turner looks just a bit more vibrant red.

Irresistible looked similar to Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte lipstick in Red Supreme, but Red Supreme is actually a bit darker and deeper red. Avon True Colour Perfect Reds lipstick in Scarlet Siren is darker and has more of that brown undertone to it.

Passion It is the most similar to Avon Mark Plump It lipstick in Roasted Red. Roasted Red looks lighter because of a creamier formula, but has that similar brown purple shade. It's maybe a bit more purple and Passion It is even more brown toned.

Conclusion

Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquers in Shine version are the ultimate pigmented, shiny, liquid lipsticks for those that love shiny color on the lips. It sticks to the lips well, is pretty long lasting, but does have a plumping effect to it.

Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquers in Matte version is a lightweight, mousse formula that has great pigmentation and lasts on the lips well without making them feel dry. It transfers and the applicator doesn't help with applying it thin and smooth, so you need to work with it more. This is definitely a comfort over staying power kind of product.

Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Shine

Pigmentirano in sijoče.

Ko jih nanašam na ustnice občutim rahel hladilen in ščemeč občutek, ki traja nekaj minut. Vsekakor šminke vsebujejo neko sestavino za povečanje ustnic. Občutek sicer izgine in ni iritirajoč, ampak zame spet popolnoma nepotreben.

Nudeitude - svetlo nevtralno rjava (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Love Spell - svetlo hladno vijolična (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
It Girl - srednje magenta fuksija (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Love Bitte - srednje roza rdeča (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Work It - srednje klasična rdeča (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Pouty - srednje hladno vijolično rjava s srebrnimi bleščicami (rahlo prosojna kot Lacquered Up, ampak izgleda dokaj enakomerno nanešena)
Caffeined - temno toplo rdeče rjava (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)

Moja absolutno najljubša odtenka sta Nudeitude in Caffeined. Zelo všeč so mi tudi Redhead (tega zagotovo niste pričakovali), Work It in Pouty.

Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte

Pinking About You - svetlo umazano roza (ima veliko bele podlage in lahko izgleda neenakomerno nanešena)
Whipped Latte - svetlo bež rjava (tudi ta ima veliko bele podlage, ampak ne deluje tako pastelno kot Pinking About You, čeprav lahko tudi ta izgleda neenakomerna)
Dare To Be Bare - svetlo toplo karamelno rjava (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
TKO - srednje živo magenta fuksija (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Flushed - srednje rdeče roza (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Fabulosity - srednje hladno modra vijolična (malo bolj prosojna in lahko izgleda neenakomerna)
Orange You Happy - srednje toplo oranžna (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Head Turner - srednje živo roza rdeča (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Irresistible - srednje klasična rdeča (dobro pigmentirana in enakomerna)
Passion It - temno vijolično rdeča (bolj prosojni odtenek in lahko izgleda neenakomerno)

Moji absolutno najljubši odtenki so Dare To Be Bare, Orange You Happy (tako čudovit!), Irresistable in Passion It.

Avon Mark Plump It šminka v odtenku Choco Latte je temnejši in bolj rdeč odtenek.

Pouty se zdi podoben Avon Mark Plump It šminki v odtenku Divine Wine.

Caffeined je podoben Avon Mark Plump It šminki v odtenku Truffle.

Love Bite je podoben Avon Mark Plump It šminki v odtenku Reddy To Go. Ta dva bi lahko bila isti odtenek. Reddy To Go izgleda čisto malo temnejši, ampak imata enak podton.

It Girl je vsekakor enak odtenek kot Avon Mark Plump It šminka v odtenku Plumping Plum.

Work It deluje podoben Avon Mark Plump It šminki v odtenku Rebel Red. Rebel Red ima malo več očitnega modrega podtona in izgleda rahlo temnejši odtenek.

Dare To Be Bare sem primerjala z NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream v odtenku London. London je svetlejši in malo bolj rumenkast odtenek rjave. Dare To Bare je v primerjavi z njim bolj breskvast. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte šminka v odtenku Marvelous Mocha je podoben odtenek, ampak rahlo temnejši in še malo toplejši in bolj oranžen. Dare To Bare je v primerjavi z njim bolj nevtralen.

TKO sem primerjala z Avon Mark Plump It šminko v odtenku Plumping Plum.

Flushed nima istega odtenka v moji kolekciji, čeprav sem ga primerjala z določeni odtenki. Avon Mark Plump It šminka v odtenku Reddy To Go je svetlejši odtenek in bolj živo rdečkasto roza in je najbolj roza odtenek izmed vseh teh.

Orange You Happy je zelo podoben MAC šminki v odtenku Lady Danger.

Head Turner je podoben Avon Mark Plump It šminki v odtenku Rebel Red. Obe sta klasični rdeči, čeprav je odtenek Rebel Red malo bolj moder. Head Turner bolj živo rdeč odtenek.

Irresistible izgleda podoben Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte šminki v odtenku Red Supreme, ampak Red Supreme je malo temnejši odtenek rdeče. Avon true Colour Perfect Reds šminka v odtenku Scarlet Siren je temnejši in malo bolj rjav odtenek rdeče.

Passion It je najbolj podobna Avon Mark Plump It šminki v odtenku Roasted Red. Roasted Red izgleda svetlejši zaradi bolj kremne formule, ampak ima enak rjavo vijoličen podton. Mogoče je rahlo bolj vijoličen in Passion It deluje bolj rjavkast.

Review: Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadow - 01 Solar Explosion

I've already reviewed one of these Essence Metal Shock Eyeshadows. The review of 02 Stars & Stories is here. I fell in love with creamy formula and glittery metallic finish. Ever since then I wondered, if other shades have as much glitter in them and of course, I decided to try out the gold shade.

It comes in a transparent plastic packaging with black plastic top. In it is 3.5 grams of product and it costs 3.79€.

Fluffy applicator has a cone shape from the side and it applies eyeshadow evenly and quite dense. It works great on its own, but you can also use your fingers for a lighter application.

Onto the actual shade called 01 Solar Explosion which is a light gold shade. It's not as yellow as some gold shades, but more on a neutral or cool side. It has a metallic gold base with small gold and silver shimmer. I'd like it to be warmer for my personal taste.

The formula is just as with the other shade. Looks creamy, but almost feels like a mousse. It has nice spread-ability and is very pigmented. If you apply it straight from the applicator, you get opaque metallic finish. If you blend it out, you get a sheerer look with more shimmer or glitter particles. You can also apply it with your finger as a topping shimmer over other shades. This way you get a very sheer mostly glittery look. I really like the versatility of these shadows.

Once it dries, it doesn't move at all. That's one of the things I love about it so much. The glitters don't fall down either. Obviously it also lasts through an entire day, without loosing intensity.

In the range is 7 different colors. I have two for now, but I'm almost tempted to get the black one as well. Although I don't know, if I would use it enough.

Here are some of the makeup looks to give you an idea of how different these can look.

In this look I used it very opaque, straight from the applicator. As you can see this looks very strong metallic and it gives you almost foiled look.

Most days I wear it as an accent color on top of others. It just gives you a hint of gold and lovely shimmer. Here I used it on the center of the lid, on the center of lower lid as well as sparsely in the inner corners.

I also used it sort of as an accent liner in my Richness Of Fall makeup look.

These shadows are packed with pigment and shimmer. They can look very metallic or be used as a glittery topper on top of other shades. Applicator work fine, shadows last all day, don't move or have any glitter fallout. It's a winner in my book. I highly recommend you to check it out, if you like metallic and shimmery eyeshadows.

Vesna from The Chunky Cheeks made three amazing looks with the shade 03 Galaxy Rocks which you can look up here. She even used it as a topper on top of a black eyeliner. It looks so amazing. I have to try this trick now.

Cute Bat Halloween Makeup

Have you seen animated movie Hotel Transylvania? Ever since I saw that cute baby bat in that movie, I look at bats differently. Sure, some can look scary (just try googling them), but some are even really cute with their big black eyes. This year I decided to do a more pretty Halloween makeup, since I am not always keen on gruesome bloody looks (props to those that do it, because it's an art!). Here is my cute bat Halloween makeup look that is actually pretty easy to create with little makeup needed.

I did my eye makeup as I do it most days...a warm crease with a warm redish shimmery shade on the lid. Nothing too complicated, just a nice warm haze on the lids. Then I did my usual winged liner with extended line in the inner corners for a more feline look.

I created a horizontal line going into my crease and two dots diagonally down from it. Then I used these points to outline bat wings shape. I filled it in and made it a bit more batman like shaped.

I used the same matte warm shades around my lower lash line. In the inner corner I used a very reflective highlighter shade. On the center of my lower lash line, I also applied a small black stud from my nail studs collection to make it a bit more interesting. I also applied a mascara and false eyelashes. For this I chose a style of lashes that have a very spiky look as I felt these look the most alike to that pointy bat wing. I did my brows with a darker brow gel. Then I took a transparent brow gel and brushed them up to make them look bushy and mimic a more furry look.

I did my base as per usual with foundation, concealer and powder. Then I used a warm toned bronzer to compliment my warm eyeshadow. I also went a bit heavier with a powder contour around my cheeks and down the nose to make it stand out more. For a highlighter I chose a very reflective white based shade that really stands out from my pale skin tone. I also applied a peachy shimmer blush to make the look cuter and girlish.

I used black pencil to outline small button nose and went over with a liquid pen liner to make it darker. On the lips I used black lip liner and went over it with a black lipstick. Since most of regular black lipsticks have a shine to them, I used matte black eyeshadow to set it down and make it look less shiny. This will also make it last longer on the lips. But before I applied black lip products, I used regular Halloween water activated white color that you can get in most drugstores and drew two pointy teeth on the sides of my lips. Where the teeth went over the lip, I used a contour shade to give them shadow and define the edges a bit more.

I paired the look with a black choker and I used my previously used black bunny ears and molded them into a shorter and spikier ears. Because of the thicker band it actually looks more like a Minnie Mouse bow, but if you have thicker hair than me, you can easily disguise it. If you don't have ears, you can make them out of thicker black paper and attach them to one of those regular plastic head bands.

Fairly easy to recreate and I think it looks kind of cute. I may do some more Halloween makeup looks in the next week, but I don't promise anything. Sometimes it comes out good and sometimes I'm just not satisfied with the results. Will you be wearing any costume this Halloween?

Review: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor - 645 Forever

I already have one shade of Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor and it's Devotion. This is definitely the most comfortable matte liquid lipstick formula I have ever tried. So it's no wonder I decided to pick another shade.

It has a plastic matte transparent packaging with silver top. The edges are rounded, which I like. In it is 5.9 ml of product and it costs 12.23€. This is definitely one of the more pricier products and I probably wouldn't buy it, if it weren't 40% off in one of our drugstores, so it cost me only 7.34€.

The applicator is fairly flat, but looks like a cone from the side. It's soft and just fluffy enough. Application is easy and you can get a very precise line with the applicator. There isn't too much product on the applicator, which I prefer, but I do usually go in another time to get it really opaque and thicker on the lips. It's just my preference.

645 HD Forever is a perfect my-lips-but-better kind of shade. I would describe it as a muddy nude pink. It has pink and brown undertones in it, but is more of a muddy shade and sometimes almost looks mauve like. I feel like this color looks different paired with different colored makeup. If I have something more neutral, it's more brown and if I have something with purple tones, it makes the lipstick look more mauve. This is that perfect every day shade that isn't too brown nor too pink. Just perfection.

I have a few similar shades to Forever, but no dupes. Avon Mark Plump It Lipstick in shade In The Buff is that muddy pink toned nude. It's lighter and more pink with kind of brown undertone. Avon True Supreme Noursihing Lipstick in shade Nurturing Nude is again lighter and has a bit more of that peachiness to it, although it's very much that mix of peach and pink neutral. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in shade Stockholm it's also a bit more pink toned and lighter.

Formula is creamy, very pigmented and feels ultra soothing on the lips. It almost feels like a lip balm and lipstick hybrid. It's definitely a thicker cream, but that gives it that opacity in one coat. It's one of the most comfortable formulas on the lips. This won't dry out your lips at all. It almost feels a bit soothing and nourishing. It's the perfect matte liquid lipstick formula for those that have naturally dry lips.

At first it has a creamy sheen, but then it dries down to a complete matte finish. Drying down depends on how thick coat you have on, but it can take up to half to one hour to completely dry down. If that bothers you, you can blot it down with a paper for a quicker matte look.

I find it very long lasting, once it actually dries to a matte finish. But if you'll be eating a lot, you'll definitely need to reapply it. It wears offvery evenly too, but is not transfers proof.

The scent is the same as with Devotion, a pleasant sweetness. As I've said before it somehow reminds me of cookies and strawberry ice cream.

I absolutely adore this formula since I have naturally dry lips. I can wear this matte liquid lipstick without worrying of drying out my lips. It has very comfortable thicker creamy formula that needs a lot of time to dry down to a proper matte finish, but it wears lovely. It has good staying power and it wears off even too. The shade is the perfect neutral nude shade for every day wear. I would love to get more shades of these. I especially like Seduction and maybe some more bold darker colors.

If you like proper extremely long lasting, budge proof lipsticks with an instant matte finish, you probably won't like these.

Brown Gold Skull Halloween Makeup

Skull is one of those typical Halloween makeup looks that you can do. Everyone gets it, everyone knows what it is and it's fairly challenging to draw. Since I never posted any skull Halloween looks, I decided to give it a go this year. Part of this inspiration for a different skull look - a brown one - is also Mariah Leonard's Instagram skull post. I took inspiration from her to do a more subtle brown version of the typical skull. I also paired it with a metallic gold shadow for some added sparkle.

I started my skull makeup with a basic foundation, concealer and powder routine. Then I took a white eye pencil and sketched out the basic skull shape. It's easier to do with a white pencil, since you can erase it really quickly.

After that I started with a light warm brown eyeshadow and I shaded the parts that are usually black and represent a hole in the skull. Then I took a darker brown and just built up the intensity by applying lighter shades in the center of each hole and using darker brown shades at the edges. This will give you the illusion of a hollow and depth. I used about three different colors of brown, because I didn't want it to look too dark. You can go further and use even darker shades.

After I shaded inside those hollow parts, I took a brown liquid eyeliner and outlined everything that I have drawn on before with a white pencil. This will give you a more precise and defined look. I also sketched out my teeth with an eyeliner.

After that I took a metallic liquid gold eyeshadow and colored out my teeth with it. I also used it as a winged eyeliner to give me more sparkle around the eyes. I am always up for more glam even with a more scary look.

To further define teeth, I took matte brown eyeshadow and went around teeth with it to make them stand out more. I also took that brown eyeliner and defined them a bit more. My advise to make teeth more realistic is to shade upper parts and make dents in the lower part with eyeshadow. No one has perfect teeth and they are not all tear shaped. I also decided to add gold metallic eyeshadow as a nose highlight. It really brigs the light back to the face and makes it dimensional. For more of a 3D effect I added a few lines around my eyes and mouth area. I used a thin pencil brush to draw a base with an eyeshadow and then went over it with brown liquid liner. That way the eyeshadow casts a shadow for that liner line.

Since I skipped on a black liner, I put on false eyelashes. Nothing too dramatic, just something with a nice volume and length. I also applied white eye pencil on the lower rim of my eye to make it look brighter. In the inner corner I added the same gold metallic eyeshadow. You can also draw on a few cracks in the skull on the forehead and around the chin.

I found it very difficult to draw a line on the sides of my face, because I have a problem with my eye vision in general and it was harder to draw from the sides. Just keeping it real. If you have someone by your side, you may ask them to help you with the cheekbones.

I won't say that this is an easy look. It's definitely time consuming, but I think it will look really nice once you go out and everyone complements your effort. I like this brown version more, because it looks subtle and prettier in a way. Black is a lot more intense and scary looking. I also love gold metallic details that bring light to the face and add something different to a usual black and white skull look.  Would you wear it or do you prefer a classic black skull makeup?

Review: Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Miracle Foundation - 45 Warm Almond

I can't remember if I ever had Max Factor foundation, but I do remember this brand being one of the first that I saw in our drugstores when I was younger and getting into that makeup wearing feel. I got a chance to test out their new Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Miracle Foundation and since I rarely get foundations for testing, I was excited. Foundation is one of the base makeup products that if you get it right, everything else just looks that much better. So I love testing out and trying new foundation.

It comes in a transparent glass bottle with a transparent plastic top. Top is a bit flimsy and I already broke mine. Pumps is made out of black plastic and it works fine. You can control the amount and I usually use two pumps for my whole face.

In it is 30 ml of product and the price is 13.99€

Here is the ingredients list. This foundation comes with some really bold statements. Max Factor says that  this foundation is better for your skin than no foundation. The formula should provide you with 24 hour hydration, SPF of 20 and contains particles for shine control. It should give you a semi matte finish, medium coverage and fresh looking skin that is going to fight against stress factors from the environment.

It has a creamy texture that is firm, but very lightweight in a way. It has a good slip to it, which makes it seem slightly greasy or emollient in a way. It spreads with ease and you have time to blend it our properly. I prefer to apply it with a makeup sponge for that flawless really blended look, but it works just as fine with a foundation brush too.

It stays slightly tacky, so you'll need to powder over it to prevent transfer. It can grab onto dry patches and accentuate them. This is not the most natural looking foundation, but it also doesn't look or feel heavy either. It doesn't emphasize my pores and doesn't look cakey even if I apply powder over it. I feel like it gets better looking as the day goes on. From afar, it really gives you that natural perfected look.

The shade 45 Warm Almond looks medium warm yellow toned with an orange tint to it. It comes out a lot lighter than it dries down. I wouldn't say it oxidizes, but it needs a few minutes to completely dry down and in that time it changes the color. It becomes darker and even more redish orange based. I notice change in the color more on my swatches than I do on the face.

But to be honest, I have been mixing it with NYX Pro Foundation Mixer in White Blanc anyway, so I got it to the lightness that suits me well. Once I mix it with that white color, that btw doesn't change the texture of foundation at all, it actually blends into my skin really well. It's so odd, because on the swatches it looks different toned, but on my skin it looks enough yellow based which blends well with my natural warm to olive undertone. I would still advise you to ask for a sample before buying it, because I have a feeling it might look orange on some skin tones.

I am really disappointed with the shade range in our drugstores. 45 Warm Almond is actually the lightest shade in our drugstores and obviously this is more suited for medium skin tones. Light skin tones have been left out yet again. Max Factor actually has 6 lighter shades going down from 45 Warm Almond. Why aren't we getting these shades in Slovenia? I will never understand that. So if you have light skin tone and want to buy this foundation, I advise you to buy in foreign countries. I searched a bit online and found Light Ivory in Bipa (Austria), I'm sure Austrian DM's also have lighter shades. There are some lighter shades also available on Feelunique.

The finish is semi matte. It looks matte in a way, but it also gives your skin that natural sheen and doesn't look too flat. I notice that I get shiny around my problematic areas, which is nose and chin, after about two hours of wear. So I need to powder it through the day to keep it shine free.

It has a medium buildable coverage. It evens out skin tone well and covers certain imperfections, but doesn't cover red patches or blemishes.

If you have very dry skin with a lot of texture, I think this won't be for you, because it can accentuate texture on the skin. The same goes with very oily skin. It's going to be too emollient and slik for you. This is more for normal to combination skin with fairly nice skin in general

I would say it has a good lasting power. I still see it on my skin at the end of the day, although it does of course wears off a bit. But is not uneven and it still looks natural.

Here you can see freshly pumped out foundation next to the swatch that has dried down. I think you notice the difference in color and darkness.

Here is a comparison of the Max Factor shade with some other foundations that I own.

Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Miracle Foundation in 45 Warm Almond is a medium warm yellow and a bit orange toned shade. EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation in 2.0 is light very yellow warm shade. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 51 Light Vanilla is light warm yellow and a bit peach based shade. L.O.V. EXTRAordinary Perfecting Fluid Foundation in 025 Sand Sophistication is medium warm yellow and orange based shade. It's very similar to Max Factor, but looks darker. Although once they both dry down, they look very similar in tone and darkness, Max Factor actually dries down a tad darker. Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation in 010 Light Beige is light warm yellow leaning towards neutral shade. Revlon Colorstay Foundation Combination/Oily Skin in 150 Buff is light warm yellow shade leaning on a more neutral base. The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation in 1.1N is light warm yellow shade.

Once they dry down, Max Factor actually looks the darkest and the most orange redish toned out of all of these. L.O.V. is similar, but slightly lighter in shade and has more of orange base instead of redish tint to it.

Here you can also see how it looks like on my skin. I mixed it with NYX Pro Foundation Mixer in White Blanc to get it to a wearable shade that I can pull off. I am tanner on my body, so I still try to match my face to that, although the tan is definitely fading faster now.

I also got Max Factor Creme Puff Pressed Powder in 05 Translucent as a gift with foundation. I was expecting it to be a very white based shade, but it looks intimidatingly dark for something that is named transparent and should fit all skin tones.

It comes in a gold plastic packaging with a cheap plastic puff. In doesn't say how much product is in it (I assume around 15 grams), but you can buy it separately for 8.79€.

It has slightly wet texture that applies smoothly and gives you a matte finish. It looks fairly natural and makes the foundation look very soft fokus like and perfected

It has a very strong floral powdery scent, so I you're sensitive to scents you won't like it. I am not too keen on that floral scent. It smells oddly old and granny like to me.

Shade 05 Translucent is not translucent. If you have fair or very light skin tone, this will show up on your skin as a slightly warm red based shade. I can get away with it, if I apply it really lightly and even then I notice that warm red tint on my face that doesn't really match my natural yellow undertone. It's more for medium skin tones with that red base in them.

It's a descent powder. I don't notice it keeping my skin matte for any longer than my other powders, but it also doesn't look cakey, so it's fine. The shade is just too dark for me. I prefer white based transparent powders in general and lately I have been using loose powders more than those pressed.

If we had lighter shades in our drugstores and if those have a more neutral undertone (which I don't know), I would probably buy it in a lighter shade, because I liked it. It's a lightweight foundation with medium coverage, semi matte finish and it wears nice on the skin. It doesn't look obvious, stays on the skin well and doesn't get too greasy through the day. It's more for those with normal to combination skin with fairly even skin texture. I am not liking orange base to this color, but am hoping that lighter shades have a more neutral undertone. It's a damn shame that we don't have lighter shades in our drugstores.

As far as the bold claim goes about being better for you than no foundation at all, I can't say. I think incorporating skin care ingredients into foundations is nothing new, but more of a standard nowadays. Hopefully, it does make my skin look nicer, but it might just be a good marketing strategy to get those costumers that still think modern foundations are bad for your skin to buy it.

Unicorn Pumpkin DIY

I haven't done a DIY project in forever. Since this year is flooded with unicorns, I decided to make a cute pumpkin unicorn decor for fall. I've seen this on Pinterest and YouTube and it's by no means my idea. This is just my version with the things that I could gather together and I think it looks really cute. You can make it for fall in general, not just for Halloween.

For this you'll need:
pumpkin
white, gold and red acrylic paint
brush
sponge
modeling clay
wooden skewer
white and pink felt
hot glue gun
fake plastic flowers
old fake eyelashes

I started by painting my green pumpkin to a white color. First I applied most of my white acrylic color with a brush and then I used sponge to make it look more textured and evenly blended. You can do it just with the brush, if you don't have a sponge, but I like this textured look. I pained two coats to cover it all.

For unicorn horn I used white modeling clay and made two cone shapes. Then I swirled them together to make a unicorn horn shape. I let it dry for a while, but you can also bake it, if the clay is for baking. Before you leave it to dry, also take a wooden skewer and put it on that. This will make it easier for you to stick it in the pumpkin later. Then I applied gold metallic acrylic color over it. For this I used a brush only.

I cut out two bigger ears in a nude color and two smaller ears, for the inside part of the ear, from pink colored felt. Then I hot glued them together. You can also pinch them together at the bottom and use hot glue gun to stick together and make it look more 3D.

I bough one stem of plastic fake flowers in a darker purple shade. The flowers are made in a way that you can actually just pull them off. I decided to also add the leaves and small green accents, so I cut these off to. You can use whatever you have at home - butterflies, flowers, leaves...maybe even real flowers.

Once everything is dried and colored you can start to assemble it together. I started by pushing that horn we made on the center upper pumpkin part. Then I hot glued fake flowers on the top of the pumpkin to make a flower crown in a way. I also used green leaves as a base and those green accents here and there. I also hot glued on the ears. After that I took some old and used fake eyelashes and also glued these on in a downward position to make it seem like the unicorn is looking down with closed eyes. I took a bit of that white acrylic paint and mixed it with another red color to make a soft pink hue. With that color I took small piece of sponge and stippled it on to make it seem like the unicorn is blushing. It's super cute and easy to make.

I really like how it turned out. It looks like a shy baby unicorn. It's a fun project to do, if you have some time on your hands and would like to get into that fall feel. I'm sure your guests will love seeing it at the front door. It's also a less creepy version for those that prefer prettier things.

Every month I try to gather those products that I remember reaching for the most and that I think are worth mentioning. I also try to include new things, because otherwise these would all look pretty much the same every month. This month it's more about new products that have impressed me. I only have three of those that I've had for a while and I've fallen back in love with.

NYX Pro Foundation Mixer - White Blanc

By far one of the best purchases I've ever done. I have been holding off on buying this for so long and finally decided to just get. It's foundation mixer in a true white shade that you mix with foundation to make it lighter. I've heard only good reviews of it and I agree with all. It's a thicker white cream that blends well with any foundation. It doesn't change its texture and because it's thicker, it also doesn't mess up the coverage. I have tried it with a few foundations and absolutely love it. The only downside - this comes in 30 ml tube and you need to use more than I expected. So I'm wishing this would come in 100 ml version, because I'm afraid I'll use it up too quickly.

This is such a good drugstore foundation. It gives you a nice medium coverage, satin matte finish and feels so lightweight on the skin. It also looks fairly natural for a good coverage. I just adore it and wish it would come in more shades. It's one of my all time favorite foundations. You can read full review here

I just posted a review of this here. As much as the shade is way too dark for me and too orange based, I have been loving it. Of course I was mixing it with NYX Pro Foundation Mixer. It has a spreadable creamy lightweight texture, medium coverage and semi matte finish. It's more for those good skin days, because it doesn't look the most natural over dry patches. But if you have fairly good skin, this just gives you a lovely natural soft focus filter that looks great. Shame that there is so little shades in our drugstores.

L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

When I got this, I didn't expect to like it so much, because in the beginning I wasn't as impressed. But then I realized that it gives me so much volume, more than all my other defining volumizing mascaras and I may have fallen in that slightly-clumpy-looking lash trend. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love the volume of this so much, that I can't seem to stop applying it. But even then this bushy brush seems to really coat every lash and give you volume as well as thickness. It also holds the curl well, but dries out quicker than most mascaras and for the price, I don't think I can make myself to buy it again.

Catrice Lash Brow Designer Shaping And Conditioning Mascara Gel

I'm not even sure if this is still in Catrice range. I've had it for a while and never really gave it go. I usually use brow gels to just comb through my lashes and shape them the way I want. Lately, I've been loving the more bushy brow look and I started using this transparent gel to just brush my brows up. It doesn't make them stay up all day and isn't too crunchy dry, which I like, but it just gives me a good comb. I like that it makes my brows look more defined and fluffier, because I don't have too many of it anyway.

Beyu Soft Liner For Lips And More  - 553 New Boundaries and 547 Burnt Sienna

These are initially lip liners, but since it says And More, I started using them as eye pencils. I've been wanting a red eye pencil since I saw some Korean makeup tutorials and I finally have good red shades that I can use on my eyes. They are soft and creamy, have matte finish and stay put. They don't irritate my eyes at all and don't transfer. One is more of a true red and the other is more purple burgundy shade. I mostly like mixing them together for that perfect dark red shade.

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette - Golden Sugar

I got this from my friend, who wasn't using it and decided to give it to me. Just recently I started to use it a bit more and I really like it. Yes, some of the shades are a bit darker for my skin tone (I can use them when I'm tanned), but I really like the finishes. They have some super metallic looking highlighters, some more subtle with a sheen and shimmery blush shades. I also really like the matte bronzer. For such an affordable palette, these stay on my skin very well. You can also obviously use them on your eyes.

This is one of those products that just goes with every fall look. I love Pinch Me shade, because it's the perfect mix of brown, peach and red. It goes with most warm toned fall looks and I like that it's sheerer, so you can apply it really subtle. This shade always comes to my mind when I want some matchy matchy cheeks to go with that perfect red lipstick or red smokey eyes. I have a review here

Beyu Cashmere Lip Color Matt - 140 My Passion

I am always curious about new lip products, but am also terrified of proper matte liquid lipsticks, because those can be really drying. I don't know if Beyu has another line of matte lipsticks, but the Cashmere seems a lot less drying than most such formulas. It has a proper liquid formula that looks even and opaque in one swipe. I love this color, because it's a proper medium cool toned red that will look good on anyone. It also didn't feel super drying, although it's not for those dry lip days either.

I love the formula of these, because it's so mousse like and comfortable to wear. This is definitely more of a formula for dry lips. It's not transfer proof, but definitely comfort approved. I've been wearing a lot of shades from this range, but decided to include Irresistible in my favorites as I feel it's the perfect subdued statement red lip for fall. This is a more muted pink toned red shade, that isn't too dark and doesn't look very vibrant. I would even say it's the perfect wearable everyday red. I really like it and I usually don't like pink reds that much. You can see other shades from this range here

Toni & Guy Sea Salt Texturising Spray

My constant search for that perfect hair product that will give me volume and texture is leading me towards trying out new products. I'm not fussed with my hair and I don't really style them, but I've been loving texturising products, because they do make a difference with my fine hair. I've been trying this sea salt spray and I really like it. It's actually a bit sticky (like most salt sprays, but not annoying) and because of that it gives your hair that added texture that doesn't fall apart in a mater of seconds. It just makes my hair thicker and isn't too sticky. I really like it.

Review: La Roche-Posay Serozinc Spray

I love La Roche-Posay for their products targeted towards sensitive skin, especially Hydreane and Nutritic face creams. I also use their sun screen, which is my staple for summer holiday and I've tried two of their mascaras (this one I love). Obviously, I was equally as excited to try out their Serozinc Spray which is one of the very talked about and liked toners.

I got a travel size version to test out. This one has 50 ml of products in it and the price is around 6€ (I don't know, if this one is on sale in Slovenia, you can get it on Feelunique though). Full size version comes in 150 ml size for around 10€ in Slovenia.

It comes in a blue aerosol with white plastic top. The spray spritzes liquid over your face. Spray is not the most sophisticated and the mist is quite heavy. I always get my face heavily soaked like I have been under the water and don't like that, because it feels like I'm wasting away the product.

It's an astringent toner designed for oily and problematic skin. It should act as a soothing product for any kind of sensitivity. If you're like me, you'll be asking yourself what does astringent even mean?! Apparently most toners contain glycerin or glycol, basically the ingredients that penetrate deeper into your skin and give your skin added moisture, while astringents remove excess oil from your skin. These can dry out your skin, so they are definitely not suited for dry skin.

I have combination skin which also gets very dehydrated, especially in colder month. So I was most excited to see, if this really eliminates excess sebum around my nose and chin. I've also heard from some users that this made their pores look smaller.

It contains only three ingredients: water, zinc sulfate and sodium chloride (salt).

I have been using it for about two weeks in place of my usual hydrating toner. I have to say that I didn't notice any major difference with my skin. I still got oily through the day around my t-zone, especially nose and chin (as I always do). It didn't dry out my skin either (but if you have dry skin I don't recommend you using it), my pores didn't look particularly smaller and I didn't notice it feeling super soothing. I once had some irritated spots and it didn't make redness go away any quicker than usual.

It feels very wet on the skin and once it dries you may get a tight feeling, if you're skin is not oily all over. That's why it's also hard to apply it only on certain parts, as the spray mist is just so wet and heavy. If you accidentally lick it, you'll notice it tastes exactly like salty water you might lick off your lips once you've come out of the sea.

In all honesty, I expected it to at least make my skin less oily and maybe vanish red patches quickly, but I didn't notice much difference with it. Maybe it's not for my skin, since I don't have a very oily skin type with acne. I think skin types with acne, oily and sensitive skin will benefit from it more. It would probably ne a nice refreshing mist in summer months, since I love spraying my face with mists on hot sweaty days. So it wasn't for me, but it may be for your skin type. If you've tried it, let me know how you got along with it.

I am giving away one of these travel sizes on my Instagram, so if you'd like to win it go over there. It's open for Slovenia residents only.

Review: Kiko LE Candy Split Nail Lacquer - 03 Periwinkle Cream

$

I rarely get to buy something from Kiko's Limited Editions, because usually, when I get to the Kiko store, there's a LE that I'm not impressed with. And then sometimes I want something really bad, but can't get to the store in time. This time I came upon a collection called Candy Split. It's a fun candy colored pastel collection with many products, but I only chose one of their nail polishes. I admired it online and in the store I bought it. It just looked so darn pretty.

It's a small and cute glass bottle with white plastic top. In it is 8 ml of product and it costs 2.95€. I also love the gold writing on it.

Shade 03 Periwinkle Cream looks like a pastel blue shade with white dots and it has a bit of a purple sheen. But it's actually a transparent base with small white dots and tiny blue and purple shimmer. I've researched a bit and apparently periwinkle is also a color in the blue and violet family. It's also the name of a flower. In the bottle it looks pastel and not that exciting, but wait until you apply it over a colored base.

Brush is straight cut and medium sized. I think it works fine for applying nail polish and with one application you get a fairly dense application of white dots.

I didn't even know what to expect from it. You could wear it on it's own for a very sheer look, but I see it more as a top coat over a colored base. I tried it over some base colors on the paper and decided to apply it over a dark grey shade (Avon Mark Nail Enamel - Moody).

It will look best applied over dark colored nail polishes. Over that dark grey color it looks like a blue purple galaxy with lots of small white stars (or white sugar to go with the candy theme). I couldn't catch with my camera how pretty it actually looks in person. On my photos it looks so boring, but in real life it has that deep purple and blue sheen. Depending on which angle you look at it, it almost looks duo chrome. White dots are tiny and then it has even tinnier blue and purple shimmer in it which gives it that amazing galaxy sheen.

It dried fast enough and it's obviously very long lasting, since it add a lot of grip and texture with those dots. Any nail polish with texture to it will be long lasting. I also applied shiny top coat over it, to make it look more even.

This nail polish was worth the purchase. It looks so unique over dark colors and I love Kiko nail polishes in general. I'm not sure, if this collection is still in the stores, but Kiko often times has old limited editions on sale, so I hope you can still find it. They just released a new one called Arctic Holiday and I love it. Especially the eyeshadows and highlighters. Like I said, sadly, I always miss the best collections.

Review: Avon Anew Reversalist Infinite Effects Night Treatment Cream

$

I first heard about this product when I watched Caroline Hirons video. I trust Caroline's opinions as she says how it is and isn't that affected by being liked by others. Obviously, my interests we're peaked as I also order Avon products and I didn't hesitate on buying it as soon as possible, because Avon always has a sort of pre-sale prices that are lower then when the product is officially released. I also really wanted to try retinol products, as I haven't done that yet, and am approaching my thirties.

Avon Anew Reversalist Infinite Effects Night Treatment Cream comes in a shiny plastic tube that has two sides with a pump and transparent black plastic top. I'm not impressed by the red and black design, since it's so shiny and quite hard to read. Avon can improve on the design here. Some other lines in Anew range have much more sophisticated and luxurious feel to them.

It contains 30 ml of product (so 15 ml in each side of the cream) and the regular price is 40€. Currently it's on offer for 23.90€. As I've mentioned before I got it before it was released for the price 16.90€ and then since trying out the first bottle, I bough another one while it was still on that offer. Yes, I obviously liked it.

On the bottle you can notice the difference between side 1, which is red colored and side 2, which is black colored. It makes it easier for you to remember to switch sides.

The pump is plastic and works fine. You can actually control the amount of product that you want to get out. They advise you to use three pumps for your face, but I use two and can easily cover my whole face as well as neck.

This is night treatment that contains retinol and is as such marketed as an anti-aging product. You have two sides and you're suppose to interchange them. That means you'll use side 1 for one week and then the other week you turn it around and use side 2. On the third week you go back to side 1, on the forth week you turn to side 2 and so on.

Side 1 contains their Phytol+ formula which should nourish your skin and prepare it for the retinol formula. This side is named as an AHA side on the packaging and contains glycolic acid as the fourth ingredient on the list.

Side 2 is the one with their Super Retinol formula that should stimulate your skinto produce more collagen and elastin. If you don't know what retinol is, it's basically vitamin A which is one of the only proven ingredients that can actually make your wrinkles and small lines look smaller or less deep. It also, in general, helps your skin to heal faster and produce new cells faster. Retinol is a milder version of retinoids. You can also get retin-A which is a much stronger version.

Avon says that this product should make your facial wrinkles look smoother, your smile lines less visible, skin should look more youthful and thetone of your skin should be more evened out

Avon has done case study on 116 women and I advise you to take a look at that Caroline's video I mentioned in the beginning. Apparently, she was very impressed with the results that these women had. You get two sides of the cream, because many Avon users said that their skin care didn't produce results after they've been using it for a while. So they created this two-sided cream which prevents your skin to get used to just one specific product. That's why you change it up every week, to prevent the cream not working anymore and to prevent that side 2 with retinol to cause you side effects like sensitivity, irritation, redness and skin peeling, that is well known to be the cause of retinol use.

Both creams have a lightweight, but firm texture to them. It doesn't feel like a regular cream, to me it seems more like a gel cream that is very lightweight on the skin, but stil emollient enough that it spreads with such ease. By that I mean that they both feel slightly greasily nourishing, but are lightweight and don't leave any white cast on the skin.

Side 1 looks just slightly firmer in texture and is more white. Side 2 seems just slightly more liquid, but still firm and it has a light yellow tint to it

Side 1 is thicker and feels more nourishing. On the skin it leaves nourished hydrating layer that doesn't look greasy, but has just a velvet finish to it. Side 2 feels more liquid and hydrating. It leaves behind a more dewy and slightly greasy looking finish, but still nothing like heavy creams usually do. I like that side 2 feels more greasy on the skin, since it helps the skin to feel more comfortable and almost feels soothing. While side 1 feels more nourishing and slightly heavier in general.

They both have a cosmetic scent to them. It's not artificial, but is also not anything familiar. The scent is quite subtle, so it shouldn't bother you.

Side 1 contains glycolic acid in it which keeps my skin smooth and healthy looking. It also feels nicely nourishing

Side 2 feels just as lightweight and nourishing. I have dry and flaky skin on my hands from eczema and when I was applying side 2 on my face, the cream got into those dry cracks which burnt my skin a little, since it was like applying acid on a wound. On my face, I didn't notice any tingling or burning sensation, unless I applied it over a freshly squeezed blemish (which you shouldn't be doing anyway). I also noticed that the irritation didn't come until like 5 days of using thatside 2. On that fifth day I notice a slight burning irritation feel around my eyes. The first week of using retinol side I also has a bit of redness around my eyes, but keep in mind that I have in general sensitive skin and I never used retinol before. After I have been using it for the second week, I didn't notice that much of irritation anymore, just a slight burning sensation around my eyes.

I've mainly wanted to use this around my eyes, because I have a few deep set wrinkles under my eyes, which are probably my smile lines anyway, but I'm getting annoyed with them. I do also have a very slight and short smile line around my mouth, but is not a concern to me now, because it's really not noticeable yet. Obviously, I also have two short frown lines on my forehead, but those are not deep enough for me to be bothered with them either. But prevention is the key. Or I like to think so.

Now onto some visual proof. I have been taking photos of my skin every week, but decided to include just the first photos, before I started using it, and then the last photos, after about 6 weeks of using this product, as this shows the effects best. I have been using these creams in my night cream step. In the evening I cleaned my skin, applied hydrating toner and then this cream. Since I've been using this cream, I've been avoiding using acid toners and I don't feel the need to use them. Only here and there, if my skin tends to feel rough again. Sometimes I also applied facial oil over the cream and sometimes I skipped it.

The first two photos of before and after are of my face and you can't really notice any difference. Or at least I don't. I didn't notice my complexion becoming any more evened out, but I did notice that my skin in general had good skin days. Ever since I started using this cream, I don't need acid toner for smoothing my skin and I also had a lot less blemishes than usual. I can't say for sure, if it's the creams fault, I'm just sharing my observations. My skin is also a lot plumper looking and just more elastic in a way, which means it just looks healthier in general

If we take a closer look at my eye area, you can definitely notice a difference. I was actually surprised, because I didn't feel it did much, but once I got to compare my photos, I definitely saw a difference. My small line at the outer edge of the eye is less visible as well as my small lines under the eyes. They seem to be shorter and slightly less deep. The same goes for those fine lines on the lower inner corner.

It seems like the fine lines have gotten less deep and some look shorter than they did before.  I am pleasantly surprised by that and would actually say that the proof is in the photos, it seems to work.

As I've mentioned before, I already have a backup in my drawer, even though I still haven't used this one up. At first I thought that there's very little cream in this packaging, but it should last you about 2 months, if you'll be using two pumps a night

I have to say I am pleasantly surprised with the effects. Now that I took a look at my photos in between the process of using this cream, I definitely notice a difference. My fine lines seem to get shorter and less deep. They definitely look a bit less noticeable. I also like both textures of cream. They are nourishing enough, but also lightweight. My skin has been looking plumper and healthier ever since I started to regularly use it at night, so I'm sticking with it for now.

If you have a more sensitive skin and you're trying to get into that whole retinol routine, I think this is a good product to start with. The irritation is mild (or so it was for me) and the texture is just right, not to greasy nor too lightweight. I'm actually curious about trying out some other Avon Anew skin care. They have day and night cream in Reversalist range and have also added some interesting new products in Anew Clinical range (Lift & Firm Contouring Serum with Polypeptide-x, Face Lifting Cream with Polypeptide-x, Even Texture and Tone Multi Tone Correcting Cream with DSX ).

Review: Beyu Be Outstanding Collection

Beyu is German makeup brand that is part of the Artdeco brand. Beyu came to our drugstores this year (you can get it in certain DM stores) and I was intrigued. I already bought their famous Beauty Queen Volume Mascara, but still didn't get to testing it out (so many other mascaras opened) and now I got a chance to try out their newest Limited Edition called Be Outstanding. It's limited edition for power women encouraging them to be brave and make a statement. I like the concept, because I love bold makeup products, although I don't wear them as often as my nudes. But I try to wear a bold lip or eye as I love bold colors.

The collection came packaged so pretty in a magnetic closing box with black paper cushioning. Definitely one of the prettiest makeup packages I ever recieved.

In this #BeOustanding collection you can buy:
2 Eyeshadow Palettes
5 Soft Liners For Lips And More
Soft Liner For Eyes And More
Pure Colour & Stay Lipstick
4 Beyu Cashmere Lip Color Matt

Be Outstanding Eyeshadow Palette - 1 Purple Me On

It's a small and compact metal packaging with black and white stripes and super cute french bulldog design. If you don't know, frenchie is my favorite dog and I wish to have one when I'll be living on my own. Obviously the packaging is a hit with me.

Inside you also get a small mirror, which is surprising for such a small and compact palette, but very much appreciated. You also get one of those double sided sponge applicators that I never use.

Inside you get 6 x 1.1 grams of product and it costs 13.99€.

You get a mix of 6 shimmery and matte shades all in the cool purple family.

Vibrant Chic - shimmery white (pigmented)
Greyness - pale matte cool grey (not that pigmented)
Lavender Glow - pale cool grey base with lavender sheen (poor pigmentation)
Royal Purple - medium matte cool purple (not that pigmented)
Secret - dark shimmery cool brown purple with purple sheen (really pigmented)
Marvel - medium matte dirty pink (not that pigmented)

In general these have a very dry texture to them (matte shades are a bit less dry) which also means the pigmentation is poorer than I expected. Some shades really disappointed me - like Lavender Glow which has such a pretty purple sheen, but just looks so sheer. Shame really, because the shades are very nice and I personally love purples. I especially like Marvel and Secret.

I had a problem blending out the shades, especially mattes like Greyness and Royal Purple which just looked very patchy. You need to build up the colors a lot which I'm not a fan of. The eyeshadows faded a bit as the day went on, but didn't crease (although I always use and eyeshadow primer underneath).

Here is the look I created using all of the shades from this palette.

Crease: Greyness and Marvel, Outer V: Royal Purple, Inner lid: Lavender Glow, Lid: Secret, Inner corner: Vibrant Chic

Lipstick: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor - Forever

Be Outstanding Eyeshadow Palette - 2 Spice Me Up

The second palette has the same design, but this time with a cute cat on the packaging. In it is also 6 x 1.1 grams of product and it costs 14.99€.

Both of these palettes also have instruction on the back telling you were to place each shadow for a day and night look. I think this will come useful to those that are not that skilled in applying makeup.

The palette has a mix of 6 matte and shimmery shades. I actually really like this color range. It has some neutrals and pops of red and green colors. All the shades that I personally love. I love red eyeshadows in the fall especially and I always like greens too. To me this is the perfect fall color scheme.

Clear - matte beige (really pigmented)
Jewel - shimmery light beige (pigmented)
Star Anise - medium cool brown (pigmented)
Burgundy - medium shimmery cranberry red (pigmented)
Spirit - medium warm golden green (really pigmented)
Desire - dark cool green with sparse gold glitter (pigmented)

These are also dry in texture and mattes can feel just a bit more wet. Pigmentation is actually much better than with the 1 Purple Me On Palette. Most shades have good pigmentation. Star Anise needs to be build up, as well as some others, but Clear and Spirit have really good pigmentation with just one swipe. I absolutely love Clear to set my eyeshadow primer and I also love Burgundy and Spirit.

These also fade a bit through the day, but stay in place with the eyeshadow primer underneath and don't crease. They are actually pretty long lasting

These also blended much nicer, although some matte shade and darker ones can also look a bit patchy.

I did two makeup looks with it. One more green and one more red.

All over: Clear, Inner corner: Jewel, Crease: Star Anise, Lid: Spirit, Outer V: Desire
Lips: Makeup Revolution Lipstick - Wishful

All over: Clear, Crease: Anise Star, Inner corner: Jewel, Lid: Burgundy
Eyeliner: Beyu Soft Liner For Lips And More 547 Burnt Sienna

Lips: Beyu Soft Liner For Lips And More - 530 Dynamic Relief

Pure Color & Stay Lipstick - 150

The lipstick comes in a metal shiny black packaging. It feels heavier and well made. In it is 4 grams of product and the price is 13.99€.

The bullet is black and has Beyu embossing on it. Beyu actually has a whole line of Pure Color & Stay Lipsticks, but this is a fun new black shade. They describe it as a long lasting matte lipstick without the feeling of dryness

It has a very smooth formula and it applies with ease. To me this is not a matte finish, because it has a lot of sheen to it. It's more of a cream finish. Pigmentation is sheer and you need to really build it up, but it never looks completely even. I can still see my lips through the color. It's actually very comfortable formula that sits waxy on the lips and it transfers. Because of the shiny finish, it's not long lasting

I love the black color, because it's unique in our drugstores, I just wish it would be more pigmented for such a bold color. You could eventually use this sheerer formula to darken other lipstick shades as it could work as a nice stain.

If you want it to look opaque, I advise you to apply it over Beyu Soft Liner For Lips And More in 500 Dark King. The combination looks a lot more intense and opaque.

Soft Liner For Lips And More and Soft Liner For Eyes And More

These lip and eye liners have the color of the product on the packaging. They are in a regular need-to-sharp pen form. The top is plastic.

In each is 1.2 grams of product and the price is 6.99€.

Lip pencils have a creamy formula that is easy to apply, but leaves a completely matte finish. You can outline your lips with precision and it slides on the lips with such ease.

Because of the matte finish, they can be a bit drying on the lips. I also feel slight stickiness with this formula, but it's nothing too annoying. Pigmentation is good, although some colors can look a bit patchy, if you don't take the time to apply them as evenly as possible. This is especially with shades 530 Dynamic Relief and 556 Sixt Sense.

They stick to the lips very well and are transfer proof once they set a bit. It's a very long lasting lip pencil formula and it's waterproof (just don't rub it under the water).

500 Dark King - matte dark black
556 Sixt Sense - matte cool medium purple
553 New Boundaries - matte cool medium red
547 Burnt Sienna - matte medium burgundy
530 Dynamic Relief - matte medium cool grey brown

I love colorful choices of bold colors with these. Burnt Sienna is the perfect fall brownish red and New Boundaries is that classic red that suits everyone. These are probably the most classic wearable shades. Sixt Sense speaks to me on another level. For some reason I just love purple shades even though I very rarely wear them. Dark King is an absolute must have for the boldest out there color that is quite hard to find in drugstores. Dynamic Relief is probably the only shade that I don't know if it suits me. It's that hip cool grey, but it makes me look a bit too cool and dead in my opinion.

It doesn't say on their website that these can be used for other parts of the face not just lips, but I was intrigued by the And More claim, so I tried them as eye liners. It works. I have naturally sensitive eyes and these didn't irritate me at all. They perform just as well on my lids (I wouldn't advise putting them on the water line) and I have an array of beautiful eyeliner color choices. I especially like both red shades, because I've been looking for a good red eye liner in our drugstores.

Here I used a mix of 553 New Boundaries and 546 Burnt Sienna and applied it with an eyeliner brush.

I also tried 556 Sixt Sense as an eyeliner and I applied it straight from the pen. If you have a good sharpener that sharpens the tip really well, you can create perfect winged liner look.

Soft Liner For Eyes And More - 700 Deep Black

This is a matte black eye liner that has an even creamier formula than lip liners. It's perfect for smudging and creating smoky eye, but you can also apply it precise and do a wing with it. I personally love creamy pencils, because if I'm going for a softer wing, I want my pencil to be smudgy looking and more subtle.

At first it's a bit shiny, but it quickly sets to a matte finish. You need to build it up for that very opaque look, but I always go over the lid a few times with my eye pencil anyway.

It's very long lasting and it doesn't move even when I'm sweating, so it's waterpoof.

Cashmere Lip Color Matt

They come in a transparent square lip gloss bottle with a matte black plastic top. In each is 6.5 ml of product and the price is 11.99€

It has an applicator which has a deeper dent on the bottom to really fit onto lips well and Beyu describes it as flock applicator. It makes for a precise application

It's a classic matte liquid lipstick formula that starts as a thinner liquid formula that quickly dries down to a complete matte finish

Because of such matte finish, the application can be tricky. You need to apply lipstick as evenly as possible plus try not to smack your lips together while it's drying, because then you'll loose coverage and get a patchy look. The problem is that the lipstick stays a bit sticky for a while and you need to avoid rubbing your lips together, because you'll move the coverage. I hear they changed the formula and that the one from before was a lot more buttery and probably less drying.

In general they have good pigmentation, but can look patchy, if you don't apply them very evenly. 140 My Passion is by far the most pigmented and looks the most even applied.

Once it sets, it's transfer proof. It's also very long lasting, but will come off, if you eat something greasy. I was also surprised that it wasn't too drying on the lips. By no means it's hydrating, but I can get away with it on my good lip days, which is unusual for proper matte liquid lipstick formula and my dry lips.

These have bad artificial scent. It doesn't linger on the lips, but you definitely smell it, if you put the applicator too close to your nose.

You can also mix these together by applying one shade first and going over with another one to create a unique color like purple burgundy mix.

200 Spectrum - matte cool medium purple (can look patchy, leaves strong pink stain)
140 My Passion - matte cool medium red (the most even and pigmented)
153 Rustic Decay - matte cool medium burgundy (can look patchy)
157 New Era - matte cool medium grey brown (can look patchy)

Cashmere lipsticks match lip liner colors. I fell in love with the classic red My Passion as it just makes my complexion much more vibrant and gives me such a classy look. Rustic Decay is again perfect wearable darker shade for fall, I love it. Spectrum is so unique, but I need to be in the right mood to wear it. This will definitely make you stand out. I keep wanting to like New Era, but the cool tone to it just doesn't sit well with my warm skin tone.

What's worth and what's not

I love the bold colors of this collection. Lips is one area that I love to go bold with. Eye makeup is all very wearable, so you'll like it, even if you don't like bold colors. In general, I feel all colors lean more on the cooler tone.

I was disappointed with purple eyeshadow palette and wouldn't recommend it, because some of the shades just don't blend nicely. The other more fall inspired palette is much better in pigmentation as well as blendability and if you like more dry textures, you'll like it. I prefer creamy eyeshadow formulas.

Eye liner is gorgeous for smudging as well as creating softer version of the usual liquid winged liner. It applies so lovely and creamy, but doesn't move at all.

Lip liners are fun, bold, creamy and matte. I am only a bit annoyed with the slight stickiness as I feel it's at fault for some shades not looking even. In general these are better used under the lipstick to intensify the color and give you definition. They are also crazy long lasting. I have to mention that I just adore these as eye liners and would probably even get some more to wear on my eyes. They're just that good and I love wider range of colors that you can get with lip liners - all those warm reds and browns.

Black lipstick is ok, but as many other regular black lipsticks, it just isn't as pigmented as I would have wanted it to be. To make a good black lipstick, it would need to be properly matte and very opaque. The formula is actually lovely creamy and would be probably nicer in some more neutral colors as they already have in their range.

Cashmere color matt lipsticks are that proper matte liquid lipstick formula. They apply nicely and dry down to a matte finish that is extremely long lasting. Some shades can look a bit patchy, so you need to be really careful with application or maybe apply two thin coats, but if you like bold completely matte lipsticks, you'll definitely like these. Even I can get away with wearing that formula on my good lip days and it doesn't feel as drying as I remember some other formulas do.

I am pleasantly surprised with some of these products and now that I dabbled a bit into Beyu brand, I am curious to try out some of their face products. Especially golden highlighters, blushers and some regular lipsticks. I think I also definitely need to try out their liquid liners, since I feel they could be really nice judging off of that regular creamy eye liner formula. It's definitely a more pricey drugstore brand, but I feel it's in that L'Oreal, Max Factor, Bourjois range.

Review. L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara

$
0
0
I stay away from L'Oreal mascaras, because they are on the pricier side of the drugstore spectrum. Even though I feel like they were cheaper a long time ago and I especially loved their Volume Million Lashes as well as Telescopic versions. But the hype around L'Oreal Paradise Extatic mascara was so high, that I knew I needed to try it. I was hesitant to buy it because of the price, but then I found it on offer in Austria.

I believe it's called Voluminous Lash Paradise mascara overseas and it has different design. Pink to be exact. Our European version comes in a rose gold box, which is unusual for drugstore mascaras, and it has a copper design with rose gold metallic top. I don't mind the color, just the font is a bit off for me.

In it is 6.4 ml (very small amount compared to other brands that have from 10 to 12 ml in their mascaras) of product and the full price is a bit over 14€ in Slovenia. However I bought it on offer for 8.96€ in Austria, where the full price is 11.95€.

It is marketed as volumizing, lengthening and easy to apply mascara. I hear some compare it to Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and I can see why. Even the box packaging is extremely similar in design.

The wand is one of those natural bristled ones and the bristles are quite dense. They actually catch a lot of the lashes, even the smaller ones and I think it's the reason why it doesn't look overly clumpy, even if you apply more coats.

The formula is not wet nor too dry, but definitely more on the drier side. Which means it gives a lot of volume. It almost makes my lashes a bit thicker, adds a bit of length and doesn't look too clumpy. It doesn't give me the definition that I like with Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara, but it definitely gives more volume. I was actually a bit hooked on how thick my lashes looked with this one that I may have over-apply it. But it's actually good for really building up the volume without it looking clumpy. I find this a rare trait among volumizing mascaras.

It has a regular black color.

On the photo below from left to right: my curled lashes, one coat of mascara, two to three coats of mascara.

The major problem that I have with this mascara, besides the hefty price tag, is the fact that it dries up so quickly and becomes crumbly on the eyes. The drier it gets, the more crumbly it is, harder to build up the volume and small pieces of it start to fall under my eyes, which is never a good look. I've had it for about 2 months and it's almost unusable. Most other mascaras last me at least 3 months.

When it's still fresh enough, it holds onto lashes well and stays put for the whole day. I also feel like it kept my lashes curled all day.

Definition and volume exclude from one another when it comes to mascaras, but it's the combination that I usually go for. Since I love Maybelline Lash Sensational which is more defining, but gives volume too, I was awed by the volume effect from L'Oreal Paradise Extatic mascara. If these two had a baby, that would be my all time favorite mascaras.

I really like the drier formula that gave me great volume from the start, the fact that it didn't make my lashes drop and that it was long lasting. The price is way too steep for my liking of drugstore mascara prices and the fact that there's little product in it and it dries out so fast, is just another contradiction for my argument of repurchasing it. If you like mascaras that give you volume, can be build up to oblivion and don't mind the price tag, you'll definitely love this one. I might give it a go, if I find it on sale, but I'm definitely not buying it full price.

In this New In post I feature more or less the products that I bought myself, as well as some products that companies sent me. It has been a time of several repurchases, so in this post you'll find out about some of the products that I constantly buy and are basically my all time favorites.

Deborah Milano Extra Mat Mattifying Foundation

I got two tester of this in the lightest shade 00 Ivory as it's one of the few foundations in our drugstores that actually seemed really light. As the winter seaso approaches, I get lighter and lighter, so I'm always on a search for a good light enough foundation. I haven't tried it yet.

I already had this one and you can read my review here. I decided to repurchase it, as I especially love it for colder months. It's so nourishing and it gives you skin lovely sheen. This is also going to look great in warmer months as it almost gives you a natural body highlight. I love the formula and typical Nivea scent.

I got it, because it was on sale and it's one of my all time favorite mascaras. Not that I needed it, because I still have some backups. It was pretty rose gold metallic packaging that attracted me and I decided to just get one more. It's the best for definition and volume. It also keeps my lashes curled all day. Full review is here

Ebelin Sharpener and Ebelin Blending Eye Brush

To find the perfect sharpener seems like mission impossible. They all get less sharp after some time, so I often buy new ones from different brands. I have to say this one might be my favorite until now, because it sharpens pencils in a very pointy way. I think cosmetic sharpeners should all make your pencils very sharp and this one does just that. You can easily draw a precise wing while using this one. The blending brush for eyes is great as well. Apparently it has natural hair, is tapered and very soft. So far I like it.

I've already posted a full review here. It's basically a two sided night cream. On one side you have acid based cream and on the other side you have cream with retinol. You interchange these each week in order for your skin to not get used to it and just before the sensitivity of retinol starts to kick in. I really like the texture of creams in general and you can see my actual results of my fine lines becoming less visible and shorter in my review, so I bought another bottle (on the photo below), because I see it working.

Since I wasn't satisfied with Afrodita toner that I got, I decided to purchase one of those that I already tried and liked and that was it. I used this one in the previous summer and it felt nice on my skin. It's a basic hydrating toner with a bit of AHAs in it. The scent is soothingly sleepy and I love the practical spritz pump. I have a short review of it here

Avon True Nutra Effects Ageless Revitalising Eye Cream

I love face creams from Avon Nutra Effects range. Hydration Daily and Night creams are one of my all time favorite face creams. I am also trying the Nourish Day version and I've had Radiance Night version. Both very solid and just lovely for my skin. So I decided to try out an eye cream from this range. I haven't opened it yet, because I'm currently using another one.

So you thought I had enough of these huh? Nop. I purchased a lot of these already, but I grab these more in colder months and my stash is weirdly enough getting smaller. That's why I decided to purchase two more as they were on sale. I got Tropical, because it's one of my favorite tropical coconut scents and Sweetie, because it was the only other scent in our drugstores that  I liked. It's a more sweet one and perfect for colder months. My other favorite is Wild, a more oriental strong scent, but we don't have it our local drugstore.

Missha Pure Source Cell Sheet Mask - Honey and Rice

I purchased two more of these (previously I got Pearl) and I still haven't tried any of them. But I am planning on and posting full reviews of all three.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Fragrance Free

This is my all time favorite lip balm. Initially it's a multi-purpose cream or balm for dry skin. I only use it on my lips. Previously I've had the original version which has a very strong scent that I got used to by now, but my boyfriend hates it. So I decided to get a fragrance free version in hopes of having no smell at all, but I was wrong. This one also has a very distinct scent, it's just not as strong, although I don't find it pleasing either. I have a small review of the original here

Balea Sheet Mask - Beauty Effect, Born To Be Lazy, Cool Melon, Sweet Mango and Fancy Pomegranate

I've tried all already and will probably post a short full review. Beauty Effect disappointed me the most. It felt like it did nothing. The fruity ones  and Born To Be lazy weren't that bad, fairly moisturizing and some even a bit nourishing, but the sheet masks are so thick and lacking in essence, so I wouldn't recommend it to you.

This is probably one of the most raved about mascaras from drugstore. I got a chance to get it at a lower price and I was really curious to try it. It has that natural bristles kind of wand that actually catches almost all of your lashes. It gives you great volume, thickness and holds the curl well. For a more detailed review click here

Balea Reparierende Maske Mit Hyalurön & Grüntee-Extract

This is a new pot sized nourishing mask from Balea with hyaluronic acid and green tea extract. I love anything with green tea, so I really wanted to try it out. It has a transparent green tinted gel like texture that sticks well to the skin. It actually felt nicely moisturizing. In one pot is a lot of product and I will be using it twice.

Bilou Coco Cocktail Shower Foam

Since getting the Chocolate Cupcake version, I wanted to purchase another one. A shower foam is so much fun and these all have nice scent. Coco Cocktail has that typical artificial coconut scent, but I love anything coconut.

Ebelin Precise Eye Brush

This was just one of the LE Ebelin brushes that was on sale and since I sometimes need those more precise smaller eye brushes, I decided to get it. It's descent. Soft, but very dense and good for packing on eyeshadow on your lower lash line.

Brush Cleansing Pad

I bought this one on Aliexpress, since all those cleaning pads that I own are smaller. This one is just slightly bigger than most of my other. It sticks to your sink well and has different textures for you to use on different sized brushes. It makes it a bit easier and more pleasant to wash your brushes, since I hate doing it.

E.l.f. - Highlighting Brush and Eyeshadow "C" Brush

I already bought one Highlighting brush and I liked it so much that I got another one. This has that perfect not too small nor too big, tapered shape that is great for applying powder, highlight, to contour with or for applying blush. I use one for powder and one for contouring. It's super soft and very affordable. This time I also decided to get their famour Eyeshadow C brush which is very raved about. It's again super soft, has that typical flat shader shape, but is not as dense as for example Zoeva shader brushes. It will give you a lighter application.

Mizon Multi Function Formula Snail Repair Eye Cream

I bought it on Ebay as it was one of the more affordable Asian eye creams. It's snail based and very light in general. It has that mix of gel and cream lightweight texture that feels just moisturizing enough, but isn't too greasy. It works great under makeup too.

Ardell Demi Wispies False Eyelashes

These are my favorite natural, yet still voluminous looking false eyelashes. I already have two pairs and I really wanted another one. These are affordable and offer you soft lashes with transparent band that is really easy to apply.

NYX Pro Foundation Mixer - White Blanc

As Rihanna would say: Where have you been, all my life? I am so happy to have finally bought this. It's foundation mixer in opaque white color that you can mix with your foundation to make it lighter. It doesn't change the texture of foundation, coverage or undertone. I absolutely love it. So far I've tried it with a few foundations and it worked well with all. The only disappointment is, that I thought I was going to need to use very little of it, but if the foundation is 4 shades too dark for me, I almost have to use it 50:50 ratio. I guess I already fear emptying it. Wish they had this in like 100 ml version. It would make me feel more secure. Definitely recommend it to anyone that has problems finding light enough foundations.

Kiko 3D Hydra Lipgloss - 18 Golden Sparkle

I already have shade 27 Pearly Lavender, but since that one doesn't really go with all the looks, I decided to get another more wearable shade called 18 Golden Sparkle. It's more of a bronze based shade with silver shimmer in it. It looks really pretty on its own as well as over most lipstick shades. It gives the lips nice shine, isn't too sticky and has lovely sweet vanilla scent.

Kiko Smart Fusion Lip Pencil - 505 Vintage Rose

It's nearly impossible for me to find a lip liner shade that would match my natural lip color. I have very pale and not too pink lips. So I though that this shade would suit me, but when I got home, it turned out to be way darker and too pink. It's still nice for that natural my-lips-but-better look and I already have two lip pencils from this range. They are nicely creamy, lightweight, but not very long lasting.

Kiko Mini Nail Lacquer - 30

Oddly enough, I can't find this shade online. Kiko recently added these mini 1€ nail polishes to their stands and when I saw this minty green color it reminded me of the Maybelline shade that I used own. They discontinued it and I looked for a similar shade everywhere. I feel this one is very close to it. I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know if the formula is the sama s with their regulars.

This is so gorgeous. I have a review here. It has small blue and purple shimmer that give it duo chrome galaxy look and small white dots in it make it look like stars. It looks best applied over dark colored nail polishes.

Bilou Cherry Kisses Shower Foam

I saw this LE foam in the scent Cherry Kisses and since the design is just so pretty, I got it. It smells like those Softies cherry flavored candy. Their design is always on point and this more vibrant version looks just so pretty. The foam is also pink colored, which makes it even more fun.

Mizon Enjoy Vital-Up Time Calming Mask

Another sheet mask that I found in TK Maxx (Austria). If you like sheet masks, definitely check out TK Maxx, they have a whole stand of Asian sheet masks. I haven't looked up the prices on Asian market, but I assume here they're a bit more expensive. I wanted to try one from Mizon and I chose a calming one, since my skin can be irritated in colder months. Haven't tried it yet.

Ardell Natural False Eyelashes

Yet another pair of Ardell lashes. This time I chose a natural style which seems really natural looking and again with that transparent band. I am hoping on using more false eyelashes with my future makeup looks and since I hate wearing heavy lashes, these should work fine. I also got these in TK Maxx.

NYX Eye And Eyebrow Pencil - White Blanc

I got this eye pencil, because I knew I needed a white one for the Halloween looks I planned on doing. At the end it wasn't as pigmented as for example their liquid white liner (which I still want to get, but it's expensive), but it worked nice for water line and was one of rare pen liners that didn't irritate my eyes. So I will probably use it again and it's also great for highlighting under the brow.

Look by Bipa Rainbow Holo Eye Shadow - Floating Bubbles

I was surprised by the new packaging and new products from Look by Bipa brand. Some of the new products seemed really interesting and I had to try it out. They have four shades of these duo chrome eyeshadows. They look like one color in the pan, but once you swatch it, you get an amazing duo chrome sheen. I got shade Floating Bubbles which is a mint based shade with golden sheen. I love it and I might go back and get some more. I especially liked one shade that looked very purple.

Look by Bipa Mega Stay Liquid Eyeliner Pen Matte Finish

It looked very promising while I was swatching it, because it's a regular pen liner, but it dries down really quickly to complete matte finish, which almost looks a bit powdery. I already wore it once and it wasn't as saturated as I would like it to be. It also transferred while working out, so I'm not impressed.

Look by Bipa Matte Camouflage Concealer - 010 Light

Shade 010 Light looked so light that I had to try it out. It's not often you find fair concealer shades in drugstores. The texture is thicker and very pigmented. It reminds me a bit of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. They have two shades. The lightest one is very light and leans more towards cool undertone, but doesn't look too pink, so I can pull it off. It's very matte looking once I set it and not the best for under eyes, if you need moisture like I do, but the coverage is impressive.

L.O.V. BROWtitude Brow Gel Serum - 100 All-round Temptation

L.O.V. has revamped their stand and I found some old products that are being discontinued on a sale in Austrian DM. Since I've been loving setting my brows with a transparent brow gel, I decided to try this one out. I can't say I like it as much as Catrice Lash Brow Designer, because that once seems to give my brows more hold and it makes them stay looking bushy for longer, which I prefer.

Ebelin Pinzette

Just a regular Ebelin tweezer which I use for applying false eyelashes or any other detailed work. For tweezing I actually prefer Tweezerman tweezers.

NYX Liquid Suede Metallic Matte - Go Rogue

My girl Kvina was so lovely and sent me these two NYX products. She heard me admiring Go Rogue shade and decided to give it to me. It's a liquid lipstick in charcoal black shade with tiny dark blue shimmers that give it that metallic look. The shade is a show stopper and not for the faint-hearted. But it looks so cool and I love it. Just wish I would have more opportunities to actually wear this out. I'm a bit scared to be honest. The formula also applies evenly and doesn't feel too drying.

NYX Faux Whites Inner Eye Brightener - 01 Vanilla

Since I got one of the NYX pencils, I am really excited to try this one. NYX makes some of the best products and I just wish we had it in Slovenia, but also at a more affordable prices. I know it's much cheaper in US. This is a creamy white based shade with a hint of yellowness to it. I'm excited to try it on the waterline or use it as a highlight. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems nicely pigmented. Thank you Kvina, you're the best ;).

This is a collection of Beyu makeup products that I have been trying out for the first time. It's called Be Outstanding and it definitely features some bold colors, which I love. I was most impressed with their lip liners, eye liner and cashmere matte liquid lipsticks. You can read full review here

This is a travel size version and it's an astringent tonic with zinc, salt and water. It's meant for oily and problematic skin. I mainly wanted to try it out, because I thought it would keep my oily t-zone matter for longer, but it didn't do much. Maybe I had too high expectation from a three list ingredient product. I have a review here.

L.O.V. EXTRAordinary Perfecting Fluid Foundation - 025 Sand Sophistication*

This is my first time trying out L.O.V. products and in general, I was positively surprised. I'll post a full review on these products, so I won't go into too much details. It's a cushion kind of foundation that comes out through a small hole instead of being in a classic Asian cushion compact. I love the packaging with the puff, because it's so easy to use and blend. It's thicker foundation that can be build up to full coverage. It gives you nice natural looking sheen and is long lasting. my only problem is the shade range, which is again suited more for medium skin tones.

L.O.V. DualCOVER Concealer & Retoucher - 025 Sand Sophistication*

Double sided concealer that has a waxy thicker stick concealer on one side and a  moisturizing sheerer liquid concealer on the other side. Again the shade is too dark for me, although I have been lightening it up with NYX Foundation Mixer. I'm not too keen on the liquid side since I feel it's too dewy for my liking and not enough coverage.

L.O.V. LASHseduction Instant Volume Mascara*

It's a very wet formula with natural bristles wand. I'm still waiting for it to dry up a bit, because otherwise it can look a bit messy. It gives volume, but I especially like it for lengthening my lashes.

L.O.V. LIPaffair Color & Care Lipstick Matte - 950 Guilty Conscience*

I love it. It's a thicker formula that has good slip to it and applies easily. It gives you instant matte effect and has great coverage in one swipe. It doesn't feel too drying, but it's definitely not moisturizing and is very long lasting. It has luxurious magnetic closing, which I love. Shade Guilty Conscience is the perfect dirty mauve shade for fall.

I already posted a full review of it here. It's a nice fairly natural looking foundation with medium coverage and good wear time. The shade range in our drugstores caters more towards medium skin tones which is one of the things I hate about it. My shade also leans more towards that orange undertone and foundation needs time to dry down in which time it becomes darker. But if you have a medium skin tone and fairly nice skin, it should work great for you.

Avon Eve Duet Eau de Parfum*

I've mentioned several times that I love Avon perfumes. Mostly because they offer great scents in big packaging at affordable prices. This is a first I've ever seen 3 in 1 perfume. It has two sides of perfume which you can wear on its own and mix it together for that third scent. The concept is nice, since you basically get three different scents from one perfume. One side has a more floral sophisticated scent and the other side has a deeper more fruity sweet scent. I honestly like it most mixed together, because one side is too floral for me and then the other one seems too deep for me personally. So together you get that nice sophisticated blend of florals and deeper sweetness from fruits like plum. It's also very convenient to travel with just one perfume and have more options.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick - 12 Brunette*

Bourjois is known for doing some really nice lipstick formulas. This is a matte version in a lipstick form. I have their Rouge Edition Velvets that are more of a moussy liquid lipstick formula and in all honesty, I don't use them much, because they feel a bit drying. This lipstick format has such an amazing ultra glide on formula that applies with such ease. But once it dries on the lips a bit, it gives you perfect matte look. Almost like with liquid matte lipsticks. It doesn't feel too drying either. So far I really like it.

Review: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Berlin

This was to be expected. I wasn't finished with buying NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. It's one of my favorite matte liquid lipstick formulas and I feel like I finally have a collection of colors that I really wanted. My latest edition is perfect chocolaty fall shade called Berlin.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams have a small lip gloss plastic tube that has the color of shade outside and a black matte plastic top. It's compact and great to travel with.

In it is 8 ml of product and I got it for 8.95€ in Douglas.

It has regular doe foot applicator that doesn't hold too much product. You get just enough to apply a thin coat, but I usually go in with another for a more intense and darker color.

These have a mousse whipped like consistency that spreads easily. It needs quite a lot of time to completely dry down, especially if you apply thicker coat. At first it looks creamy and has a bit of sheen, but it dries down to matte finish.

Berlin is the darkest shade I own from NYX and the pigmentation is good, but you still need to apply a thicker coat to get fully opaque look. I think that with lighter shades you can only apply one sheer coat and looks more even.

It's not as long lasting as a proper matte liquid lipstick, so you'll need to reapply it after drinking a lot or eating.

I especially love these because of the ultra comfortable formula. It's not hydrating, but it doesn't feel tightening or uncomfortably dry like proper matte liquid lipstick. It stays more velvet on the lips and doesn't feel heavy either. But it also means that it transfers.

All of these lipsticks have a wonderful sweet vanilla scent

Berlin is what I call medium chocolate warm brown shade. It has definite warm undertone to it. On me it actually looks quite dark - darker than it appears on these photos, but it's still more of a medium tone in general.

I have nothing similar in color. Avon Mark Plump It Lipstick in Truffle is a burgundy brown shade and looks much more redish. Avon True Supreme Nourishing Lipstick in Smooth Mocha is a sheerer formula and more of a cooler brown. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Marvelous Mocha is much lighter warm nude brown with hints of peach and pink.

It's by far one of my favorite chocolate browns, because it's so warm toned and I feel like it matches so well with my brown eye color. Perfect for all of you that like a good chocolate brown lipstick.

My collection of NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams now includes:
Athens
Stockholm
London
Cannes
Berlin

Athens is a true peachy shade. Stockholm is my-lips-but-better warm brownish pink shade. Cannes is a mauve version of a proper nude color. London is a light warm brown nude. Berlin is the darkest and it's a true warm chocolate medium brown.

I think I'm done with buying NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, unless they come out with more shades. I have a good neutral selection with a perfect chocolate pop of color for fall. I love these because of the mousse texture, comfortable feeling and great wearable shades. If you have dry lips in general and want a good matte liquid lipstick, I always recommend these. The selection of colors is huge as well.

Review: Essence LE Made To Sparkle Highlighting & Transforming Prismatic Palette

Essence new Limited Edition is called Made To Sparkle and it's already available in stores. I browsed through the collection, but decided to only get the palette since it looked interesting and I'm always up for buying something new to my collection. The collection features a lot of sparkly products for eyes, face and nails. It's very sparkly themed.

It's called Essence Made To Sparkle Highlighting & Transforming Prismatic Palette and it's for eyes, cheeks and lips. They've named it 01 Don't Let Anyone Ever Dull Your Sparkle.

It comes in a plastic black packaging with transparent lid. It also has cute gold diamond design on it. It's a bit flimsy, but I expect that for the price.

In it is 7.7 grams of product and it costs 3.29€.

In the palette are four shades. They look more boring in the pan than on the skin. It's basically a collection of fours shades with fine shimmer that can be used as eyeshadows, highlighter, highlighting blush or a topper over lipsticks.

1 - light shimmery yellow gold shade
2 - light white base with lavender blue sheen
3 - light white base with pink sheen
4 - light mint green with golden sheen

All of these have a shimmery look to them, although you can't see any actual shimmer in it. It's very finely milled and just gives you a lovely sheen. Most of these shades are sheer and can as such be applied over other shades. I feel like the gold shade is the only one that can look really opaque when build up.

Gold is a stunning highlighter shade for light warm skin tone. I actually really like it for that, because it's pigmented, but has no visible shimmer, just a lovely sheen. It also looks gorgeous in the inner corner of the eye.

Lavender blue is great applied over eyeshadow or even colorful lipsticks. I like wearing pink as a highlighter or a topper over pink colored blush. It gives it lovely sheen.

Green is the only shade that isn't really wearable as a highlighter. I would only wear this as an eyeshadow topper or maybe over very dark lipsticks for a fun twist.

Formula is not dry, but also not really wet. It's in between and applies easily. Pigmentation is OK, but it's more of a sheerer formula and you have to really build it up, if you want it to look opaque. I see these more for the skin or as a sheen on top of other shades. If you'll be using it on the lid, I advise you to apply it with fingers, because the brush doesn't really pick up much of that color.

They are not really long lasting on top of other eyeshadows. They last well in the inner cornerof eyes and as highlighters, but on the eyes and lips they just don't look that vibrant and obviously fade a bit through the day. Pink and gold last very well as highlighters, especially if you apply a few more coats.

I especially like the gold shade as a face highlighter. Here is a comparison with two others. Gold shade from Essence is yellow based gold. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone is more champagne colored. It doesn't have that yellow tone to it. theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer is more peach based and slightly darker.

I have to say that these shades with sheen look much prettier in real life. The color and sheen gets lost on the photos, keep that in mind. Here are some of the looks I created with this palette

Pink shade I used on the center of the lid over a basic matte brown base. I also applied it in the inner corner. It gives off a much more visible pink shine in real life.

Lips: Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte in Flushed and Passion It

The blue color also looks much more vibrant in real life and you almost can't see that cool blue sheen on the photos. I also used it on the center of the lid and inner corners.

Lips: L.O.V. LIPaffair Matte Guilty Conscience

I applied green color over a matte brown base. This one applies sheerer for something that look very vibrant in the pan. In the inner corners I used gold shade. I also applied gold shade as a highlighter all over my face. Pink and blue color I applied over a mauve brown liquid lipstick to give it a bit of sheen, but it's actually not even that visible in real life.

Lips: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Forever + pink and blue shade

I think this is a fun all around palette to have for when you want some sparkle on your eyes, cheeks or even lips. It's not as pigmented as I thought it would be, but the sheerer formula actually looks better as a topper and over the skin. Colors look especially nice as a blush toppers or highlighters. On the eyes they fade quicker and don't look as vibrant. The same goes with lipsticks, since the pigment gets absorbed by the lipstick. If you like something different with fun sheen or are looking for fun highlighting shades, these could be for you. I am most impressed with the gold shade which I love as a highlighter. I also like blue and pink in the inner corners for something slightly more colorful. Green is more of a specific taste color and I might not get that much use out of it.

Review: L.O.V. EXTRAordinary Foundation, DualCOVER Concealer, LASHseduction Mascara and LIPaffair Matte Lipstick

I've never tried L.O.V. products before, because I honestly thought it was just an overpriced version of Catrice and Essence. After trying some of these out, I think that the packaging is much nicer. Some of the formulas also seem more sophisticated and if you find the right product for you, I think it's worth the splurge. I'm actually interested in trying out more products from this brand. I got some new product from the fall/winter revamp of their stand to try out. Here are my thought on the products I tested out.

L.O.V. EXTRAordinary Perfecting Fluid Foundation - 025 Sand Sophistication

It comes in a black plastic compact cushion like packaging, but the dispenser works by pressing the side of the cushion down. Product comes out in the middle through a little hole. It's very hygienic and great to travel with.

In it is 12 ml of product and it costs 14.99€

It also comes with a little puff as most cushion foundations. I love these puffs, because they have a soft sponge side that blends foundation quickly and seamlessly. You will need to wash it every once in a while, but it's perfect to use on the go or when you don't have time to spend hours applying foundation.

Shade 025 Sand Sophistication is warm medium color. It comes out lighter and more yellow based, but dries down darker and more orange based.

They say it gives you flawless and radiant complexion, reduces wrinkles in two weeks, is light and non-comedogenic with SPF 20. They say that the study has proven to improve the moisture supply as well as elasticity of the skin. It doesn't say which ingredients should support that claim, but putting skin care ingredients in foundation formulas is nothing new. It's more of a standard by now.

This foundation has a very emollient/greasy feel to it, it's also very thick for a liquid foundation. It spreads out easily and sticks to the skin well

It evens out skin tone, covers redness and doesn't emphasize pores. It also doesn't make them any smaller. The coverage is buildable and I would say medium to full. It has satin finish, which gives your skin lovely sheen and almost looks a bit dewy in the beginning, but it sets. It stays a bit sticky though.

This isn't natural looking foundation, because of the really good coverage, but it also doesn't look cakey or very unnatural. It may catch a bit over dry patches, but is not too bad. Coverage fades a bit as the day goes on, but in general has good staying power. After about 5 hours I get oily around my T zone, which gets oily with most foundations anyway.

I notice a subtle sweet powdery scent to it which I like.

Because it's so thick, you'll actually need to use more of it, if you're going for that full coverage. I usually use two pumps of it and add the same amount of NYX Pro Foundation Mixer in White, because this shade is obviously too dark for me.

On the bottom photos you can see my skin without foundation and then L.O.V. foundation mixed with NYX white mixer.

There is only four shades available and they are all targeted towards medium skin tones. Color selection is a huge let down and I think it's a waste, because the foundation is really nice and could be very popular. Mateja reviewed shades 010 and 040 here

L.O.V. DualCOVER Concealer & Retoucher - 025 Sand Sophistication

It comes in a plastic black and transparent packaging. One side is a thicker stick concealer and on the other side you have a classic liquid concealer formula.

In it is 5.3 grams of product and it costs 12.99€.

Stick version comes in a rounded shape and there's quite a lot of product in it. You push it out by swirling the bottom.

On the other side is a liquid concealer with doe foot fluffy applicator. It's easily to apply and great for more detailed work.

Shade 025 Sand Sophistication is very similar to the foundation shade. It's a medium warm shade that has orange tint to it as it dries down. The stick looks darker from the first application, but as soon as the liquid version dries down, they both seem very similar in color.

They say that it will make small flaws disappear, serum-concealer has a pampering smooth texture and contains shadownyl to lighten dark circles under the eyes and visibly reduces fine lines

I would use stick version on the parts that need more coverage and liquid version more to lighten the skin tone as it is formulated as lightning serum texture.

Stick side is thicker, but creamy. It has good medium coverage, but once you blend it out, it becomes sheerer. Obviously the color is way too dark for me, but I've tried it on my dark under eye area, because it has orange tone to it. It covered, but not as good as I would have liked it.

Liquid side is veryemollient and it spreads with ease, but I feel like it doesn't absorb in the skin. I really need to pat it in and definitely set it or it moves around. It's too luminous looking for my preference. After a while it does set a bit, but it still has a satin finish with healthy sheen and stays a bit sticky.

It doesn't cover my blue under eye area. The coverage is very light, but you can build it up to a lighter medium. I prefer a more thicker concealer with better coverage, but this might work for those that just want a subtle light reflecting cream.

It feels moisturizing, which is nice for under the eyes, but can get oily looking around my T zone. It looks nice over fine lines, because it doesn't emphasize them. But the coverage is just not there for me.

I was also using it in combination with NYX Pro Foundation Mixer in white, since the color is just too dark for me.

L.O.V. LASHseduction Instant Volume Mascara - 100 Seductive Black

It comes in metallic looking silver packaging. In it is 12 ml of product and it costs 10.99€.

They say that it gives you instant spectacular XL volume, has deep black creamy texture enriched with rice wax and unique brush that enwraps each lash

It has natural bristled wand. The bristles are evenly separated and quite bushy.

Formula is very wet and can easily get messy while applying. If you let it dry out a bit, it becomes slightly drier and easier to apply as well as build up.

I mostly notice lengthening when I apply one coat of it. If I go in with another coat, I get more volume. The more you apply it, the more clumpy it can look. It actually looks more lengthening with a bit of volume, but is definitely not defining. If you don't overdue with the number of coats, it actually looks nice. The color is a true black

It holds onto lashes well and even though it's quite wet, it still holds my lashes curled all day. It also doesn't crumble or smudge

L.O.V. LIPaffair Color & Care Lipstick Matte - 950 Guilty Conscience

The lipstick comes in a heavy and luxurious packaging with magnetic closing. I absolutely adore the magnetic closure as it feels so expensive. It has a matte black look to it and that soft touch feel.

In it is 3.5 grams of product and it costs 9.99€

The bullet also has some texture to it and it almost looks like suede. It has L.O.V. embossed in it.

They say that it has a unique powdery-matte finish, high color dispersion with just one application, is long lasting and pleasant feeling on the lips. You can chose among 8 shades. There is a selection of more nude browns, mauves, a red, purple and even some darker fall shades

950 Guilty Conscience is a unique shade. I describe it as cool brownish mauve. It has some brown base to it, but is in general more of a purple mauve color. It also has that cool grey feel to it, but is again not too cool.

I actually don't have any similar shade to compare it to. The closest is Essence LE Coast 'n'  Chill Velvet Matt Liquid Lipstick in 02 Smooth & Groove. But that one is a lot more purple and a lot cooler grey based.

It's very pigmented and you really get a good coverage with just one swipe. Formula is thicker, but for some reason it feels quite lightweight on the lips and it glides on the lips with real ease. You can apply it straight from the bullet and get a precise application. At first it looks a bit creamy and has some sheen to it, but once it sets the finish is definitely matte and it does look almost a bit velvet and powdery, like if you apply transparent powder over creamy lipstick.

It's very long lasting. I've had it on for about 5 hours and it stayed put. It just fades a bit as the day goes on. It's not completely transfer proof, but it survives drinking and even some eating.

On the lips it feels quite comfortable, but it's in no way moisturizing. If you have very dry lips, you may feel it on the lips as your lips get drier through the day, but it's actually still much more comfortable than for example liquid matte formulas. I think this is a wonderful pigmented matte formula that is also very comfortable to wear.

It has subtle sweet powdery scent to it, but you can't really smell it on the lips.

I got all of these products in a lovely shiny leather looking cosmetic bag with mesh sides. It's so well made and has the perfect size to fit all my makeup products in. I love the red details on the zip which is also very durable. This is my favorite cosmetic bag right now and it's a shame they don't sell it in their range.

To conclude, I was positively surprised by this brand. I had lower expectations. Foundation has great thicker formula and even better coverage. Shade range is just way too basic and all the shades are targeted towards medium skin tone which is a shame. I would definitely get this in a lighter shade and if it had a bit more product in this packaging, since you do need quite a lot because of its thickness. Concealer was not for me, because I prefer something with better coverage and almost never use stick concealers, but I think those that don't need a lot of coverage may like it.

Mascara is too wet from the get go, but once you let it dry out a bit, it's not bad at all. It gives nice volume and even better length. It's not as volumizing as they promote it, but it doesn't smudge and holds the curl well.

I was most impressed with the lipstick. Packaging is luxurious (I can't get over that magnetic closing, it's so satisfying), formula glides on like a dream, but it's very long lasting, matte and has great pigmentation. It's not completely transfer proof, but you know me, I don't care about that. I love the velvet powdery finish and the color is my new fall love. I would definitely advise you to check lipsticks out once you're in the store.

Now that I had the chance to try these products out, I also went to the store and swatched some other products. I especially liked their new The GLOWrious Highlighting & Bronzing palette in 020 since it had such a pretty gold highlighter and the pigmentation was amazing. I was also so impressed by that lipstick formula that I'm tempted to try out FATALmuse Liquid Matte Lipstick. I hear it's again a great formula and I loved swatches of 710 Secret Obsession and 700 Daring Confession.

A while ago, I reviewed some of their makeup brushes and one in particular is still among my favorites - foundation brush. You can read about it here

Review: EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation - 2.0

$
0

I have about NC15 skin tone in the winter and in the summer I can be around NC25. My skin tone is warm yellow light, but it also has very obvious olive undertone that gets even more noticeable in summer, if I catch some tan. Finding light foundation shades that have enough yellow undertone is hard enough, but then finding those that have olive undertone is even harder. I've heard that EX1 foundations have olive undertone and I wanted to try it out.

EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation comes in a plastic transparent packaging with metallic copper pump and top. I like the packaging, because I love the metallic copper details and the fact that it's a pump. You can also see through the packaging and you see how much product is left in it as the pump moves up.

In it is 30 ml of foundation and it costs around 12€ on Lookfantastic.

The pump is precise and you can actually control how much product you want to come out.

I chose the shade 2.0 based on EX1 shade guide that they have on their site. It said that 2.0 is the closest shade to MAC NC15, but if I compare it to MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15, 2.0 looks darker and a lot more yellow.

2.0 comes out as a light very yellow based shade. As it dries down on your face, it becomes slightly darker with darker yellow undertone

It has a slightly greasy feel to it, but is thicker in consistency and spreads with ease

Here is the comparison with most of my foundations. I didn't include every foundation, just the ones that I wear the most.

Max Factor Healthy Skin Harmony Miracle Foundation in 45 Warm Almond is obviously a lot darker and dries down very orange toned. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation in 51 Light Vanilla is light warm shade that has just a bit more of a peach undertone to it. It's also a shade darker. L.O.V. EXTRAordinary Perfecting Fluid Foundation in 025 Sand Sophistication is again one of those a lot darker shades with orange warm base. Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation in 010 Light Beige is light warm to neutral shade. It actually looks more neutral compared to EX1 and even almost olive toned. Revlon Colorstay Foundation Combination/Oily in 150 Buff is light yellow warm neutral shade, which is again a bit more neutral compared and even lighter. The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation in 1.1N is also a light warm yellow shade and it's the most similar to EX1. I find it to be a bit lighter and more white based looking. It also doesn't dry down as dark as EX1.

It has what I would say lighter medium to medium coverage. I need at least two pumps to build it up to a proper medium coverage. It covers redness and evens out skin tone. Because I need a lot of it to get my desired medium coverage, I used it up very quickly. You won't get a lot of applications from this one bottle, if you're looking for a medium coverage.

I wouldn't say it's natural looking, because it has that powdery finish to it which makes it look a bit obvious. It's a semi matte finish, because it still leaves some natural sheen on my skin.

It will emphasize and catch on dry patches, so you need to exfoliate your skin well, if you'll be using this foundation. It looks ok over pores and doesn't sit in them. It gets a bit into my fine lines under the eyes and accentuates smile lines as well as frown lines on the forehead.

After application it stays a bit sticky, but it's not too bad. I would still always set it with a bit of powder. Because of the powdery finish, it may not be ideal for dry skin. It's enough moisturizing, but just doesn't sit nice over dry patches

I didn't notice it becoming shiny any quicker than most of my foundations and it lasts well. After a few hours it starts to fade a bit. I still notice it on my face at the end of the day though. But as the day goes on, it can look cakey, a bit unnatural and weird around my textured parts - like around the nose.

On the bottom photos you can see what the coverage looks like and how it makes my skin look.

I also wanted to show you that this shade is by far the closest I have ever come to my natural skin tone. It's like a half shade too dark for me, but has enough of that yellow undertone in it to match my natural skin tone. It only lacks a bit of that olive tone to it.

I was very excited about the shade and the fact that it had such a strong yellow undertone. It actually seems to really work with my warm undertone. If it had a hint of olive to it and didn't dry down darker, it would be perfect. But the formula didn't impress me at all. It's just not refined enough. To me it feels a bit old school formulated and looks just too obvious with no proper coverage or skin like properties. It's rough around the edges and can look weird on textured or dry skin. That's why I can't say I like it. If they changed the formula and I would get a shade 1.0, I'd probably like it more. But if you're someone with a light skin tone and very yellow undertone you can buy it an mix with your other foundations like I do. But then again, there is so many good foundations on the market that you shouldn't settle for anything but the best.
