Sunset Eyes

One of the summer trends for this year are so called sunset eyes. Warm hues of yellow, orange, red and pink are perfect for hot summer nights. I've seen this trend used in a really subtle way of just two orange tones on the eyes. You can obviously make it bolder and combine more shades to really copy the gorgeous sunset colors of the sky. I adore these kind of shades, so I did my own version paired with a nude lip. If you chose lighter shades, you can definitely pair it with a bold pink or red lip.

On my eyes I used a combination of very light warm brown and a yellow toned brown to define the crease a little. Then I used a light peach shade to define outer and inner corners of the eyes. The idea is to create a sandwich effect where you have darker shades on the outer edges and lighter colors in the middle. I also used a vibrant pink in the outer corners. You work by applying lighter shades more on the outside and then transition into darker shades as you go more inward.

The next shades that I layered on were deep redish brown and a purple brown. As you can see, I mostly covered up brighter shades from before. This is just to make that transition more believable. Then I went on the center of the lid and I applied a shimmery tangerine shade all over the center of the lid. I took a shimmery yellow shade and applied it more in the center of the center lid. This way your eyes create a gradient from the lightest yellow shade from the center and transition into darker shades as you go to the corners of the eyes.

I applied all the same shades on the lower lid. For the look I used dark brown slightly winged liner instead of black, because it makes the look softer and to me looks better with such warm shades. Then I applied lots of mascara. You can finish the eye look here.

But I decided to apply on natural looking false lashes to make this look a bit more dramatic. It still looks very natural.

On my face I used my usual foundation mix, concealer and I set it with a powder. I also used lots of light shimmery bronzer. This look can use a good bronzer to match the warmth of the eyes to the face. I also used a light golden champagne highlighter to give my skin a nice glow. For the blush I went with a really light peachy shade and I applied it really lightly.

On the lips I used a slightly warm toned light nude lip pencil to outline them and define a bit. I went over it with a glossy warm brown shade. As I said before, you can also wear this with a vibrant lip shade, but I wanted something nude to not steal attention from the eyes.

What do you think about this trend? I am definitely in love. I'll probably be doing these kind of sunset eyes all the time, just with fewer shades. A nice peachy haze on the eyes can instantly warm up your complexion. I also love to use golden yellow shades in the summer.

Review: Avon Attraction Rush Eau de Parfum

If you would take a look at my perfume collection, you would see more than half of them being by Avon. Part of this is that Avon sends me a lot of their fragrances, but I also keep most of them, because I just love their scents. I've said it many times, you get a huge amount of perfume for a really affordable price. A lot more affordable than in our drugstores. And they make really nice fragrances. When their Avon Attraction perfume came out, everyone raved about it. It was a definite crowd pleaser. Now they've added a new one called Avon Attraction Rush, which seems to be a stronger and sweeter version of the original.

The design is bronzy gold and you know I love me some gold. It comes in a gold bronze box with simplistic design. The bottle has an interesting trapezoid shape, if you look at it from bird's perspective. It's something different.

In the bottle you get 50 ml of eau de parfum and the regular price is 32€. But you can currently get it for 17.90€here (Slovenia).

The top is a gold square that you put over the spray pump. It doesn't actually close the spray down, but it sits over it, so you can't really press it by mistake.

With the perfume I also got a lovely golden wire basket that looks so pretty. I'm already using it for displaying all of the perfumes that I currently use.

Avon describes this scent as a floral oriental.

Top notes: wild strawberry leaf, pear and red grapefruit.
Middle notes: Indian jasmine, rose petals and violet.
Base notes: amber, dark chocolate and sandalwood.

The first sniff of the fragrance is quite powerful and it starts off a bit floral and just slightly fruity sweet. It starts lightweight and somewhat spring like to me. Then it gets more floral and it takes on a somewhat oriental feel, which I can only assume is because of the jasmine in it. But as the floral notes vanish, the sweet base takes over. I don't really smell dark chocolate that much, more sandalwood and amber, which are two of my favorite sweet notes. Sweet notes stay on the skin for the longest.

I would describe this fragrance as an elegant, sophisticated and very sexy. But in general, I would say oriental sweet. I don't get as much floral notes as I would have expected from the description. This is definitely for all of you sweet lovers that love that basic sweet notes with an oriental twist.

It has a strong power from the beginning and on me it lasts a really long time. I can still smell it at the end of the day. After all, it's a eau de parfum and it has that good staying power. It might be too strong and a bit too sweet for some to use in the hotter months. I'd definitely categorize it more as an evening scent, but I wear it through the day. It's just my personal preference, sweet for every season.

It has quickly become my new favorite fragrance. Ever since I got it, I've been using it and I can't put it down. It's just the perfect combination of fruity sweetness, light floral notes and strong oriental sweet base. It's so elegant in a way, but also sweet (but not in a corny way). If you are a sweet fragrance lover, but want something that also smells very sophisticated, then you'll definitely love this one.

Če bi pogledali mojo kolekcijo parfumov, bi hitro ugotovili, da je več kot polovica od njih od Avona. Deloma zaradi tega, ker me Avon redno obdaruje z njihovimi dišavami in deloma zato, ker večina ostane pri meni. In to zato, ker so mi res všeč. Večkrat sem omenila, da Avon ponuja velike količine parfumskih vodic za res ugodne cene. Veliko ugodnejše kot jih dobite v naših drogerijah. Poleg tega so njihove dišave res odlične.

Zgornje note: listi divjih jagod, hruška in rdeča grenivka.
Srednje note: indijski jasmin, cvetovi vrtnice in vijolica.
Spodnje note: jantar, temna čokolada in sandalovina.

Review: ItStyle Makeup Products (Part 1)

Here is a part one of the ItStyle reviews. I went to the store opening in Murska Sobota and got a bag full of their products. It took me a bit of time to properly test it all, but here are my thoughts.

Before I'm starting to talk about the products, let's talk more about the brand. ItStyle is Italian beauty brand that offers a wider range of makeup products as well as some other accessories. All the products are manufacture in Italy.

As soon as I saw the store, I thought of Kiko. If you've ever been to Kiko, you'll notice that the layout is pretty much the same. Makes sence, since Kiko is also an Italian brand. You get a wide range of colors in all ranges. It's definitely an eye catcher for beauty lover. What I like the most was a wide range of shades, especially among eye liners, nail polishes and lipsticks. I also couldn't take my eyes of the glitter and found a fun scent among their perfume shelves. I believe it's called Sun. It's been stuck in my mind ever since. A really summery oriental scent, if anyone is interested.

I should mention that this is the first official ItStyle store in Slovenia. Imagine my surprise when I heard this and the fact that it's in Murska Sobota (think of the part of your country that's on the other side of all the action and all the good stores). But I guess it makes sense, since we're also located near the three boarders (Austria, Hungary and Croatia) and it opens up a wider market, since we get foreign buyers into our shopping centers often.

I've seen online that ItStyle has limited editions, but I'm not sure if they're available in our store. It would be fun though.

Now let's talk about my experience with the products. I'll try to keep it as brief as possible, since I tested a lot of products.

ItStyle 24 Hour Foundation - 04 Medium Beige

Foundation comes in a heavy glass bottle with a plastic top and a plastic pump. You can pump out a small amount of product.

In it is 30 ml of foundation and it costs 13.95€.

It has a thicker consistency. To the touch it's smooth and it spreads with ease. It has a greasy feeling base to it, but it doesn't look greasy on the skin at all.

The coverage is actually really good, I'd say medium to full coverage. You can obviously build it up, but it can look a bit heavy. It hides everything except pimples. The finish is what I would call semi-matte. It doesn't look deadly matte, it has just a bit of sheen to it.

You have to blend it quickly, because it sets quickly. You won't need to set it, if you're skin is not oily. It's obviously not the most natural looking because of the higher coverage, but I love that.

It lasted through the sweat and hot weather, so it's definitely long lasting. On my t zone it just got a bit more sheeny, but not shiny at all. I last checked it after 5 hours and it still looked flawless.

It seems to have some fragrance to it, but it's not too obvious.

Obviously the shade is way too dark for me, so I mixed it with Catrice Lightening Transformer Drops. Just so that I could wear it through the day and go out normally. I did use it in the original shade on the outer parts of my face, where I almost applied it as a bronzer. I set it with powder only on my t zone.

For some reason, I think this was the lightest shade in the store. I'm not sure, I'll have to check. But on their website they have shade 01 Ivory as their lightest. That one would probably be a good match for me.

Lips: Paese Silky Mat Lipstick in 707

ItStyle Compact Blush - 04 Plum and 09 Peach

The blushes come in a plastic black packaging with a transparent plastic lid. It's a very cheap looking packaging as well as plastic. I feel like this could break any time.

In each is 5 grams of product and it costs 7.95€.

Texture of these is very hard and dry to the touch. There's a stiff layer over these that you have to break in order to get any color off of them. They swatch worse than they apply. I feel like you have to put a bit more effort in it to apply them evenly, because they can look a bit patchy because of that texture.

Pigmentation is actually still kind of poor. I like my blushes very subtle, so it doesn't bother me that much. Although I do kind of hate building them up. I'd much rather apply it lightly on the brush and just do one swipe on the cheeks. But they both lasted on my cheeks through the whole day, although they did fade a bit. Shade 04 is more pigmented and easier to apply than 09.

I'm kind of confused with the shade names. They should be named the opposite. In fact they both seem quite similar in the packaging, but look just slightly different on the actual cheek.

Both blushes have a cheap powdery scent to it.

09 Plum is a peachy pink shade with a slight pink sheen to it. I can't decide if it's cool or warm toned. Obviously on me it looks warm toned.

Lips: Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in PK001 and ItStyle Lip Gloss in 09 Meat Pink

04 Peach is a brighter warm mauve shade. It has that muddiness to it and it's matte with a slight sheen to it.

Lips: ItStyle Lip Pencil in 12 Red

ItStyle Compact Blush in 04 Peach is a brighter warm mauve shade. It has a bit of peach to it, a bit of pink and a bit of that mauve undertone. Next to it I compared Catrice Illuminating Blush in 010 I Am Nuts About You and it's slightly lighter and less warm peach toned. Next to it is Trend It Up Powder Blush in 050 which is again similar, but has cooler and less peachy undertone to it. It also has a bit more of that silver sheen to it.

Compact blush in 09 Plum is peachy pink shade with a slight pink sheen to it. It's also a bit dirty looking like 04. I compared it with H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in Rosy Brown. Rosy Brown is actually even more peachy toned and warmer. It has that same slight sheen as 09 but the sheen here is slightly warmer. It's like a peachier version of 09.

ItStyle Hydrating Lip Balm

The lip balm comes in a white plastic packaging with silver details. It closes securely.

It doesn't say how much is in it, but it costs 5.95€.

They have more versions of lip balms, but this one is for dry and chapped lips. It has a waxy texture. The texture reminds me of Burt's Bees lip balms, so those that have more wax in it. But it still applies smoothly and doesn't feel heavy on the lips. It's slightly greasy, but doesn't make your lips sticky.

It gives a slight sheen to the lips, but doesn't actually look shiny. Which means it's a good base for other lip products.

In the bullet it looks pink, but goes on transparent. The scent of it is fruity sweet

ItStyle Lip Gloss - 09 Meat Pink and 10 Brown

Lip glosses come in a plastic lip gloss packaging with silver details. They close well and don't leak.

In each is 9 ml of product and it costs 5.95€.

I love the formula of these. It's ultra comforting to wear and almost kind of soothing. Not too thick, but also not too liquid. There's no stickiness to it, but it does stay on the lips fairly well for a lip gloss. Obviously it's not a long lasting product.

Shade10 is a bit more pigmented, although still sheer as you would expect from a proper lip gloss. Shade 09 is sheerer, or at least it seems so, because it's actually lighter in the shade.

The scent is somewhat chemical and cookie dough like.

10 Brown is just what it says. It's a warm light brown shade. I love these kind of shades, so this is definitely one of my favorite products by them.

09 Meat Pink is a light mauve pink shade. It actually looks sheerer than 10 and looks a lot lighter on the lips.

ItStyle Lip Pencil - 12 Red and 14 Natural Beige

It comes in a shiny black pen form. On the bottom of each pen is an indicator that tells you what shade is inside

In each is 1.1 grams of product and it costs 3.95€.

The formula of these goes on the lips really smooth and it feels just slightly sticky. However it doesn't stick your lips together, it just adheres to the lips really well.

Pigmentation is great and you can do one swipe and it covers the lips well. With darker shades, like the red one, you will need to apply all over the lips in order to look super opaque.

I like the formula, because it feels fairly lightweight, is long lasting and doesn't feel drying at all. It's quite comfortable to wear

They don't have a scent.

12 Red is a warmer classic red. I usually have cool toned red lip liners, but this one has a a nice warmth to it. I really like this shade.

14 Brown is a warm toned medium brown. It's  a pure brown that I don't have in a pencil form yet and I really like this shade. It's going to be perfect for fall.

ItStyle Extra Mat Lipstick - 01 Brown Plum

It has a rubberized matte black packaging and it closes securely. The details are silver.

In it is 4 grams of product and it costs 9.95€.

The formula is a bit thicker and it doesn't have that ultra smooth feel like Avon Perfectly Matte lipsticks. But it adheres to the lips really well and it's pretty long lasting.

It has good pigmentation. You get a good color payoff with just one swipe on the lips.

The finish is not completely matte, because it has a bit of sheen to it. To me it just looks like a high pigmented lipstick. But to be fair, it doesn't have a shine to it either. If you blot it down, it looks more matte.

If you apply too much it can look a bit uneven and it starts to gather in the center of the lips, which I hate. So it's not the easiest formula to wear. Obviously it will emphasize dry patches

The scent is somewhat creamy and artificial

01 Brown Plum is a medium burgundy shade with a slight plum tint to it. But in general a perfect mix of plum and brown, just like they named it.

Eye makeup: here

ItStyle Lip Liner in 12 is a warm and slightly brighter red. I don't have any dupes for it. Kiko Smart Fusion Lip Pencil in 513 Red Papaya is a lot brighter and more orange toned shade. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Coral Fever seems similar, but is in fact more vibrant and more peach toned. Lip Liner in 14 is also a unique brown in my collection. It's a medium cool toned brown. It seems to have that grey purple undertone to it. Golden Rose Dream Lips Lipliner in 501 is a lot lighter nude shade with a peach undertone. Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Marvelous Mocha is also lighter and again a warmer brown shade with peach undertone to it. The closest shade to is Avon True Supreme Nourishing Lipstick in Smooth Mocha which has that cooler brown tone to it, although it's still a lot warmer than the lip liner shade.

ItStyle Extra Mat Lipstick in 1 is medium burgundy shade with a slight purple tint to it. Avon Mark Plump It Lipstick in Divine Wine is a lot lighter and more purple mauve shade. Avon Mark Plump It Lipstick in Truffle seems more similar with that browny red shade, although this one is more brown toned.

ItStyle Lipgloss in 10 is a warm toned brown. It has a lot of peach undertone in it. Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip in Weho is very similar. I notice that Weho is just slightly more brown toned and has a bit less of that peach undertone in it.

Here are also the swatches of all the products.

An overall thought of this brand is that there are some good products at an affordable prices and then there are some products that are just not worth it for me. Some products also have a quite high prices for what they are. I like the foundation and I'm even considering getting the lightest shade (if they actually have it in the store) since it has great coverage and I didn't even need to powder it. I also really like their lip glosses which have such a comfortable formula. Lip pencils are also winners in my book. I hope that they have a wide range of colors, because I would definitely get more. They apply smooth, stay on well and don't feel drying.

I don't really have much to say about the lip balm. It's such a basic product and every person has their preferences on what it should feel like on the lips. I prefer a more nourishing ones and greasier. I hated the fact that mat lipstick formula gathered in the center and it's also not completely matte. The biggest let down in this category had to be the blushes. I actually like both shades, but the packaging is so cheap and the top layer is so hard, that I wouldn't buy another shade from this range.

I'll have a second part of the review up next. It's more about the eye products as well as nail polishes. In the second part will also be a giveaway, so keep an eye out for that.

Review: ItStyle Makeup and Nail Polishes + Giveaway

Here is a part 2 review of ItStyle products that I promised you in my first part. Today it's more about the eye makeup products as well as their nail polishes and nail polish remover.

ItStyle Compact Eye Shadow - 48 Cappuccino and 55 Rose' Cipria Mat*

Compact eyeshadows come in a black plastic with a transparent lid. The packaging is similar to their compact blushes and it feels very cheap. It could break easily.

In each is 3 grams of product and it costs 4.50€.

Texture of both shades is a bit drier and you need to build it up. The pigmentation is average. You definitely need to reapply it, if you want a strong color. Shade 55 Rose' Cipria Mat is a bit more pigmented and has more buttery texture, which also means it applies nicer.

I always use my eyeshadows with an eyeshadow primer and with it they last well. They didn't get into the crease. The colors faded a bit through the day, but it was minimal. I have a feeling that matte shades perform better.

48 Cappuccino is a taupe shade with purple sheen. It has that typical grey brown base with small shimmer in it that gives it a purple pink sheen. It's a pretty cool toned every day shade for all over the lid.

On this photo I have 48 Cappuccino all over the lid. In the crease I applied 55 Rose' Cipria Mat. I also have Black Kajal Pencil on my eyes as well as Super Lashes Mascara.

Lips: ItStyle Lip Pencil 14 Natural Beige

55 Rose' Cipria Mat is a cool mauve shade. It has a taupe (grey brown) dirtiness to it and I love the shade. It's going to be just perfect for the fall.

Here I wore 55 Rose' Cipria Mat all over the lid on its own.

Eyeliner: Clio KIll Brown Brush Liner, Lips: Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in PK001 and ItStyle Lip Gloww in 09 Meat Pink

ItStyle Eye Brow Pencil Ash - 04 Brown Ashes*

It comes in a black pencil form. In it is 1.2 grams of product and it costs 4.95€

The top is transparent and it has a small comb. I don't care for the comb, I much prefer a proper spoolie to brush my hair as the comb is just too rough.

Texture of it is harder as I would expect from a brow pencil. But it also has a smooth layer over it which makes it easy to glide on the skin and apply.

Shade 04 Brown Ashes is the closest match to my natural brow color that I found so far. It's grey toned medium brown, but has a bit of olive undertone to it. I used it a lot until I noticed that it has small shimmer in it. It completely ruined the product for me. Why would you put shimmer in a brow pencil?! Such a shame, because the shade fits me so well. The shimmer isn't that noticeable in person, but I did pick it up on the photos.

It stayed on my brows for the whole day. Pigmentation is good. I don't expect a brow pencil to be too pigmented as it can look too harsh.

Eyes: Colourpop Game Face, Lips: NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Berlin

ItStyle Black Kajal Pencil in 01 Black*

It comes in a black pencil form. In it is 1.1 gram of product and it costs 3.95€.

Kajal is very creamy and I like that with eye pencils in general, but almost expect it from a kajal. It's great for smudging and creating smoky eyes.  But you do have to go over it a few times in order to make it look really opaque. Obviously you can also apply it as a regular eye pencil.

It needs a bit of time to dry down and then it doesn't move. It has good staying power. It also lasted me through a workout. Obviously it fades a bit through the day. Pigmentation is good, but you need to build it up for a really opaque look.

ItStyle Precision Eyeliner - 03 Brown

I bought this eyeliner myself when I was in the store. It was the one product that I knew I had to get, because my Clio Kill Brown Brush liner is a bit old and I love a brown eyeliner for the summer. It looks less harsh than a black.

It comes in a black plastic packaging with silver details. It's small and compact. In it is 5 ml of product and it costs 5.95€.

It has ultra thin brush applicator and it's also quite short. I never thought I would say this, but it's almost too precise. The brush is so thin that you have to go over the line a few times in order to get a bolder winged look. It's also so precise that you have to be skilled to apply it evenly. But it's great for detailed work, just not a product that you would grab for a quick everyday wing. Although once you get used to it, you can do that too.

Texture is liquid, but looks quite pigmented, so it's not runny in any way. It has good pigmentation, although you'll need to layer it in order to look even. It has that perfect matte finish to it, which means it can look darker on the parts where you applied more.

The shade 03 Brown looks light brown once you're applying it, but as soon as it dries down it becomes a more medium warm brown. It dries fairly fast and once it sets it doesn't move at all.

Lips: Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick in Rouged Perfection

Comparison Swatches

ItStyle Eye Shadow 55 is a mauve shade with grey undertone, so a cooler toned. I compared it to Freedom Makeup Pro Decadence Palette Today's Tonight in the shade 13. This one is a slightly warmer tone and it has more of that pink in it. It's not as mauve. More like warm brown based mauve.

ItStyle Eye Shadow in 48 is a taupe with a purple sheen that reflects off of the shimmer in it. The closest dupe I found in theBalm Nude'tude palette in the shade Selfish. This one is actually more silver toned taupe and it doesn't have that purple sheen to it, it's more silver toned. It's also just a tad darker.

ItStyle Eyeliner in 03 is a darker warm brown. Clio Kill Brown Waterproof Brush Liner in 02 Brown is a bit lighter in the shade (although it becomes darker if you go over it more times) and it seems slightly warmer toned.

I compared brow pencil with my Catrice Eye Brow Stylist in 020 Date With Ash-ton. ItStyle in shade 4 looks more olive toned or rather yellow toned grey brown. While Catrice's looks more brown toned with a grey tint to it.

ItStyle Art Lashes Top Mascara and Chic & Colors Super Lashes Mascara*

Both mascaras come in a shiny silver packaging. They both have black writing and details on it.

In each is 14 ml of product and it costs 9.95€

ItStyle Art Lashes Top Mascara*

It has a funky looking wand. It has three same sized spheres shaped bristles. It's a natural types of bristles which I'm not a fan. I prefer silicon wands. The shape of bristles looks weird to me and I don't feel like it does much for the lashes. It coats them well though.

Formula is on the drier side like most waterproof formulas. First coat gives my lashes slight definition. The second coat makes them longer, but not any more voluminous. For my liking my lashes look too thin. If I try to add more, they can start to clump up. It holds the curl well, but it drops it a bit as soon as I apply the mascara, which is normal for my lashes.

It lasted on my lashes the whole day and I didn't notice any flakes or smudging

Eyes: Colourpop Kathleenlights, Game Face, liner- Coconut, Lips: ItStyle Lip Liner 12 Red

ItStyle Chic & Colors Super Lashes Mascara*

It has a fairly basic wand. The bristles are a little tapered towards the tip and shorter which makes it easier to apply in the inner corners as well as on the lower lashes. I'm not usually a fan of natural wands, because I prefer silicon wands. For some reason I feel like those separate lashes better.

Formula is more on the drier side and it reminds me of waterproof formulas. It gives the lashes a nice length and a bit of volume, but it doesn't give me wanted definition. The more coats I apply the more clumpy it looks. I know some love that look, but as I've said many times, I want my lashes to be defined as well as have some volume and length.

I like the fact that this holds the curl well. Better than most mascaras. Of course the curls drops a bit right after application (which happens to me with all mascaras), but it still holds them up at a good angle and it doesn't make them drop as the day goes on.

It lasts well. I didn't notice any flecks falling down. It did smudge a bit on my lower lash line after I finished my workout, which was to be expected because of the sweat.

ItStyle Nail Polishes*

I also got a few of the nail polishes to try out. I tried two colored nail polishes, one growth treatment and one top coat.

They all come in a square glass bottle with a black plastic top. Colored nail polishes have that double top system where you take the cap of to reveal yet another black top that's actually the applicator. I guess this is popular system nowadays as it copies high end brands.

The brush of colored nail polishes is short, a bit wider and slightly rounded at the edges. I like these types of wider and rounded brushes, because they make it really easy to apply the nail polish and it always looks really good around the cuticles. One of the brushes from the colored nail polishes was a bit frayed, so maybe check before you buy it.

Other nail polishes have a regular brush, thinner and straight cut

ItStyle Active Growth Nail Varnish*

It's a treatment that should ensure the growth of brittled and fragile nails. In it is 11 ml of product and it costs 4.95€.

To be honest, I didn't test this out properly, because I already use another treatment for my nails, so I can't tell you much about it. I did use it as a base coat under a colored nail polish and it worked fine. It applied evenly, thin and made my nails shiny. It also dried fairly quickly

The formula looks slightly pink tinted, but goes on sheer and it's nicely creamy, a bit thinner.

ItStyle Nail Polish Red Passion - 177 Passion 5*

In it is 10 ml of product and it costs 3.95€.

This shade is a pink toned red. It looks like a red in the bottle, but it has a pink tint to it. I really like it. It's a fun twist on classic red and I have a few similar shades in my collection.

I applied only one coat, because it applied so evenly that I didn't wanted to put a second coat over it. Obviously you can still see my nails through it. So if you want it to be really opaque, apply two coats. It has good pigmentation and dries fairly fast

The formula is creamy and the perfect consistency. Not too runny nor too thick. Both of the colored nail polished that I tried lasted a good three days without chipping on my nails, which means that they have good staying power. I have weak and brittled nails.

ItStyle Nail Lacquer - 19 Rouge Noir*

In it is 10 ml of product and it costs 3.95€

I adore the shade. It's really dark brown burgundy shade. To me it looks like the perfect fall shade and I love brown hue in it.

With this shade you'll need to apply two coats in order for it to look even and opaque.

I find pigmentation good for such a dark color (because most of my dark nail polishes need two coats) and it also dries fairly fast

The formula is creamy and not runny nor thick

ItStyle Fix And Shiny Nail Varnish*

It's a fixing treatment to protect the nails and prolong the wear of nail polish. It should maintain a bright color of nail polish and increase the shine. In it is 11 ml of product and it costs 4.95€

I tried it over a dark colored nail polish and I hated it. It made my color base look bubbly and it didn't dry down for a long time. Which means I ruined my perfectly nice manicure by putting this over it.

It has a very thin texture to it, which I find odd for a top coat. Top coats are usually thicker. It gives the nails a bit of shine, but it doesn't do anything much more than that. With this over my nails they chipped faster than when I didn't have this on. It also didn't dry down, applied bubbly, smudged my colored nail polish and made it look horrible

ItStyle Aceton Free Nail Polish Remover*

It comes in a plastic bottle. It has a medium hole opening. In it is 125 ml of product and it costs 3.95€

It dissolves any nail polish effectively and doesn't feel too drying on the nails. I actually really like it. It doesn't contain acetone and it leaves behind a lovely fruity scent on your nails, which is a pleasant surprise.

Here are the swatches of all the products that I reviewed.

I think compact eyeshadows are average. Mat shades seem to have better formula for my liking and they apply more buttery. I've swatched their more luxury palettes in the store and those had amazing pigmentation. So maybe try those instead, unless you like single eyeshadows and find a perfect shade for your taste.

Brow pencil would be a total winner for me, but the shimmer in it ruined it. I hope not all the shades have shimmer in it. Kajal is great and I like how creamy it is. But you do need to reapply it in order to get a nice black color. I really like the texture of the precision eyeliner, but the brush annoys me. It's too thin for my liking. Maybe if they make it with a sponge applicator or a thicker brush, I would be happier to use it. Mascaras didn't impress me. But then again, very little mascaras impress me. I feel like lately I find a fault in every one that I try. Maybe opt more for the Super Lashes Mascara. I find that it works better.

Colored nail polishes are nice. They have a great wider brush, apply nicely, have good pigmentation and they last fairly well on my nails. The shade range is also huge and I'm sure you'll find the right shade for you. I don't care for the growth treatment, but it works good as a abase coat. The fixing treatment was a horrific product and I hated it. It did the opposite of what it was suppose to. I advise you to stay away from it. I really liked nail polish remover, especially the fact that it left behind a nice fruity scent on my nails.

Some of these products are deifnitely good and well priced, but then there are some that are in my opinion overpriced. It's up to you to decided weather you think a certain product is worth the money or not. I would recommend lip glosses, lip pencils, 24 hour foundation (if you find a match, I really want the lightest shade 01 Ivory, but am not sure I saw it in the store), kajal, precision eyeliner (if you're skilled with applying eyeliner), certain eyeshadows (especially metallic palette), nail polish remover and colored nail polishes.

I personally would love to get another shade of a lip pencil as I find you can never have too much of these. I also admired their glittery eye shadow (especially liked 06 Bronze shade), their glitter decoration (because obviously! shade 09 irridiscent gold). I also really liked the swatches of Metallic Eyeshadow Palette in the shade 04 Green Blue (perfect shades for the summer). Their Automatic Eyeliner Pencils had crazy pigmentation (especially liked 07 Teal) and I also liked Baked Maxy Blushes as baked blushes always have amazing pigmentation (shade 03 Light Brown Tones looked the most interesting). These are just a few recommendations that I remember impressed me in the store. Also check out their fragrances. I find them well priced and you get a good amount of fragrance (20€ for 100ml). I fell in love with the fragrance named Sun. It reminded me of a powdery Kenzo bases and it smells like summer kind of sunscreen like, but in a good way.

June 2017 Favorites

I have more favorites this month than usual. I've just been trying out a lot of new products and a lot of those impressed me immediately. It's a bit of everything, skin care, makeup and other summer essentials. I am also trying to add non beauty favorites into my favorites posts as I feel you get a look into my other areas as well. I love clothes and accessories as much as my beauty products, although I buy less of these.

At first I didn't see much results. Especially not in the way I expected it. Niacinamides are often used in brightening formulas and I expected that this would brighten up my discoloration around the mouth. It might have brighten it a bit, but not to an extend I expected. However, this is a must have product for oily skin with huge pores. I have quite big pores on my cheeks and since I have combination skin those look even bigger in hotter months when I have oilier T zone. This product actually makes my pores look smaller and what I like the most, I don't get as oily as I used to. It definitely helps to control the sebum production. Must have for me in hotter months.

A'Pieu Pure Block Natural Sun Cream

Finally a sun cream for the face that doesn't smell of alcohol and doesn't leave a white cast. It has a thinner consistency that spreads into nothing. No white cast or heavy feeling on the skin. It has lovely refreshing citrus scent to it. It makes it seem like my skin is well hydrated, but not glowy or dewy. I'd say it gives a velvet matte finish to the skin.  With the SPF of 45 it's all I need in the summer months.

Annemarie Börlind Intensive Care Capsules

I can't even say why exactly I like it, but whenever I used this in the evening my skin in the morning looked perfect. It looked plump, hydrated, smooth and nourished. In this little pot are 60 capsules. You take one and break off the top and apply it to the skin. It feels like a light oil on the skin. A bit greasy, but lightweight. They contain vitamin C and E, ceramides and lycopene-rich tomato extract. It's basically a bomb of ingredients for anti aging and adding moisture to the skin. It's probably one of the best skin care products I've tried so far. This seriously takes care of all my skin's issues. I'm already hating loving it, because it's expensive, but oh so good.

L.O.V. EVENelegance Foundation Brush

I got a few of L.O.V. brushes to test out and out of all the three this one impressed me the most. I love straight cut and short bristles for foundation brushes. For some reason they make buffing foundation into the skin easy and give you a nice coverage. I liked this one from the get-go. It has dense enough synthetic bristles that feel soft to the touch as well as on the face. This blends my foundation well without leaving stripes all over my face and I just love the shape of it. I did clean it a few times and a few bristles fell out, so I'm hoping that it doesn't happen every time I clean it. I also love the convenience of this, because it works great with thicker foundation as it spreads them a lot quicker than if I would use a makeup sponge. It's a great on the go brush.

Paese Artist Rice Powder

Again one of the products that have seriously impressed me. It looks like a regular loose powder and it has a white color. It's super finely milled and blends into nothing. Rice powder is known for its absorbing properties and that is exactly why I love it so much. It's probably one of the few powders that actually absorbs my oiliness and keeps it from getting oily through the day. It doesn't make my skin matte for the whole day, but for an impressive amount of time. Actually even more than my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. It gives you a satin vail over your foundation and almost blurrs the skin. It doesn't sit into pores or look cakey. This is also nice for under the eyes, because it makes the skin's surface really smooth. It has quite noticeable scent to it. I can't say what of, it's sort of baby powder and fruity scent. I like it though.

Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls Radiant Glow

Avon has a few versions of these bronzing pearls. I haven't tried many yet, but these are my favorites. Radiant Glow has a mix of three colored pearls. One are more bronzed mauve, others are pink and one are light peachy. Mix them all together and you get a pinkish tinted bronze shade. I assume that this would look a bit different on different skin tones. If I apply it lightly, I get a very light bronze shade. If I apply it heavier, it becomes a more pink toned bronze. So what I usually do is, I apply it lightly all over my face and then go heavier on the apples of the cheeks. I like it so much, because it's such an effortless products to use. It has nice pigmentation with one swipe and gives you a natural pinkish bronze as well as a natural pinkish flush of color on the cheeks. Basically a bronzer and blush in one product. It has a nice sheeny look, but not too shiny. Very skin like.

You probably knew these would be in my favorites. I just adore Colourpop Super Shock Shadow formula. Both of these shades are perfect for summer. Coconut for that bold pop of blue and Kathleenlights can be paired with any look to give you a touch of warm glamour. The formula is creamy and crazy pigmented. They stay in place for the whole day and don't loose their intensity.

These two are a nice addition to my most used Zoeva palettes. Issues is great for adding additional peachy warmth to my crease and I love to combine I Owe You with other brown matte shades to put on the lid. Pressed shadows have also amazing pigmentation, blend like a dream and are very long lasting. I can't wait to get more of these.

Kiko Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara

I didn't like it at first. But once the formula got a bit drier, it grew on me. This is supposedly KathleenLights' favorite drugstore mascara. Because here lashes always look amazing, I was curious to try it out. It's definitely a volumizing mascara. It gives you lots of volume and also doesn't clump the lashes as much as some other lashes, although I wouldn't apply it too much. Because my lashes are quite thin and tend to clump together, I use it in combination with Maybelline Lash Sensationl mascara. Maybelline gives me definition and Kiko on top gives me amazing volume and thickness. If you're looking for a volumizing mascara and have fairly long and separated lashes, you'll love this one.

My new favorite pink nude shade. Whenever I want something matte that will go with most makeup looks I reach for this one. It's just such a versatile shade that would suit many. This is also my favorite matte lipstick formula as it's super smooth to apply, lightweight and has good staying power, but doesn't make your lips dry.

If you're looking for a perfect orange red shade for the summer, look no further. This is probably my new favorite orange red shade. The formula is creamy enough to use on its own, it applies smoothly, doesn't feel heavy or drying and has a fairly good staying power. The shade is just everything. Pair this with a bronze eye look and you're good to go.

Whenever my lips are dry, I reach for lip gloss formulas. This one is more like a really pigmented liquid lipstick in a perfect warm caramel brown color. It goes with every look and feels oh so comfortable on the lips. I have it in my bag to just slap on whenever I feel my lips are a bit tight or I wan't something shiny and glossy.

I've been spraying this on for the whole month. Well on some exceptions I also used Yves Rocher Malaysian Coconut, but that probably happened two times only. For some it might be too strong for the summer, but I love it. It's the perfect mix of sweet and oriental. If you like sweet scents, but want something more sophisticated with an oriental twist, then you'll love it. It's a very sexy fragrance.

Avon Sun Magic Tan Self-Tan Bronzing Mousse With Firming Complex

I used this twice and I loved it. I was always afraid of self tanners, even though I secretly wanted to try them. Cheaper ones made my skin patchy and it sort of turned me off from trying new ones. But this one is so nice. I used it with a Kiko self tanning applicator (basically a sponge glove) and it worked great. With self tanners is all about even application. I also moisturize drier parts like elbows and knees where it tends to look darker or catch on dry patches. I used it once in the evening and I applied very, very little. The effect was still very much noticeable in the morning. I only got a bit of uneven tone on my legs, which was totally my fault, because I didn't spread it out evenly. So I repeated application on the next day and on the third day I had such a nice tan. I have a light skin tone with yellow undertones so it looked very natural on me. Bronze shade with a yellow warm undertone. Naturally, my tan tends to go more olive, but because I have so much yellowness in my skin, it looked natural too. I didn't get any weird orange tint (but keep in mind I applied it really lightly!) and it didn't have that strong burnt smell the next day. When you apply it, it's a mousse that has a tropical kind of coconut and pineapple scent to it. In the morning you get a faint burnt scent, but not too bad at all. Tan lasted about a week.

I have to include this blogger event in my favorites. It's basically the only blogger event I attend and it's because it's the closest to my home town and I get to see my fellow Slovenian beauty bloggers in person. This year I met some new people, had a few too short chats (wish I would have time to speak with more people) and also learned about new beauty brands. It went by too fast, which usually means it was a lot of fun. You can read more about it here

Deichmann Red Bag

My non beauty favorite of this month has to be this cute little red bag from Deichmann. I love these smile concept bags and I love small bags in general. So many women that I see love to wear huge bags. I am a small person as it is and I hate wearing huge anything on me. Even though I stuff my mini bag with things in all the cracks, I always opt for a smaller size. This one fits my long wallet, a tiny makeup bag and a phone. I also always choose safe choices for bag colors like nude or black, so this red one is such a nice change. It goes with literally everything and gives a boring basic outfit a pop of color. Plus I adore gold details (it seems hard to find gold details on bags - usually they are silver). Can you tell I am in love? Just look at my Instagram feed, I feature it on so many photos.

C&A Leopard Pencil Skirt

You would rarely see me in a skirt, because I always thought I have footballers legs (muscly), but I have been getting into wearing skirts more often. I especially like a pencil shape. Usually these can come too long for me, since I am so short. Or they feel too tight around the thighs. This one is perfect. I bought it last year. It has a silver base with black and dark brown leopard spots. You know me and leopard prints, I just adore those. It's again one of those classic colored pieces with a fun leopard print that goes with everything. It also has the most stretchy and comfortable material to wear and isn't too tight. I love it and wish I would have more skirts like these. I've been on a hunt for a good pencil skirt this year and I found nothing that would fit me perfectly. Any suggestions?

Lucifer

I have certain tv shows that just obsess me and I can't stop watching them. I have one last episode to watch of Lucifer (don't spoil it for me, if you've already watched it!) and then I'll probably go into a depressing mood, because I have to wait until October for the next season. Thank you Sabina for that! It's a fun crime, drama and fantasy all in one. Lucifer Morningstar is actually the devil (from hell) that has been cast out of heaven and has decided to go on vacation on Earth. He is funny in a sarcastic way, narcissistic and always says the truth, even though no one beliefs him, when he introduces himself as the devil. He starts to work with a homicide detective Chloe Decker who actually becomes an important part of his life. He has no knowledge of human behavior, his feelings or morals. As the series go on, angels come from heaven and complicate his stay on the Earth. It's a truly funny show with a detective action feel to it.

Caution: Mermaids Ahead!

Whenever summer comes, I tend to gravitate towards bright colorful eyeshadows. Ever since I got Colourpop Coconut,  I knew I wanted to use it in a colorful makeup look. What could be more appropriate than a mermaid makeup look. These pinks, purples and blues look amazing together and I actually really like this look. It's definitely colorful and a bit bolder for summer.

On the eyes I used an eyeshadow primer and went over it with a skin colored matte shade to set it. Then I used light pink fuchsia shade to apply a bit over my natural crease. I took a brighter purple and applied it on the outer corner as well as on the inner corner. On the lid I applied amazing cobalt blue shimmery shade.

I took dark cool toned purple and blended the blue out. It should look like a gradient from blue to purple to pinkish purple. I also applied a light blue color with a warm yellow sheen to it on the very center of this blue. It just makes it pop more and it adds an additional glow to the center lid. Of course this look needed a bit of winged out effect, so I applied a slight wing with a pen liner. I used all the same shades around my lower lash line. In the inner corner I added light pale purple with a nice purple sheen to it.

I applied lots of mascara, but thought that the look need a very subtle lashes. So I used half lashes. This model is shorter in the center and they become longer towards the outer edges. A basic winged out look, but it's very subtle.

On my face I used a mix of BB cream and matte foundation. I also concealed with a concealer and powdered. I wanted to add a pink toned glow to my face, so I used a sheer highlighter with golden and pink sheen. I also applied bronzer on the outer parts of my face to give me some warmth. Because blush would overwhelm this look, I choose a very light brown peach shade that is almost undetectable.

On the lips I used a light mauve colored lipstick as a base and then I went over it with a lavender colored lip gloss that has silver and golden shimmer in it. It just gives it a light nude color with pretty shine and doesn't compete with eyes.

Review: Avon True Colour BB 7-in-1 Nail Enamel - Lilac Love

I already have one shade from Avon True Colour BB 7-in-1 Nail Enamel range. It's called Caring Creme and it's one of my favorite nude shades. I also really like the formula, so I knew I was going to like Lilac Love as well.

It comes in a square glass bottle with black plastic top. In it is 10 ml of product. The regular price is 5.90€. Currently on offer for 3.50€ (Slovenia).

It has a basic straight cut brush that is more on the thinner side.

Lilac Love is pastel lavender shade. It's actually perfect for spring, even though I love to wear pastel nail polishes all year around.

Formula is creamy and applies lovely. You'll definitely need two coats to make it look even and cover the nail completely. I usually apply one thinner coat and go in with a second thicker coat.

This BB formula is so long wearing. It lasts on my nails for 4 days without chipping - which means it would definitely stay for 7 day on healthy nails. It's one of my most long wearing formula. You also don't need top coat with it. It has a nice cream finish with a bit of shine and it actually dries quite fast too.

This formula should supposedly also help your nails to look healthier, cover imperfections, give you UV protection, prevent discoloration, make your nails stronger and smoother. So it's not just a regular nail polish formula, it also helps your nails to get healthier.

I highly recommend you checking this range, if you like subtle pastel shades and want something that is fuss free to apply and stays on your nails. Avon has four shades in the range. There's Caring Creme (my favorite nude, with a peach tint to it), Lilac Love, Restoring Beige (brownish nude) and Perfect Pink (light pink).

*Product was sent to me.

Review: Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Masks - Ceramide and Hyaluronic Acid

$

Sheet masks are fairly new to me and I'm slowly trying out more brands to see which ones I prefer. I started with Innisfree sheet masks which were nice basic moisturizing and soothing masks. Definitely better than most of those in our drugstores. Because I heard Etude House also has nice ones for affordable prices, I bought a pack of six. I've already tested both versions and here are my thoughts.

Etude House has many different lines of sheet masks. I got two from their 0.2 Therapy Air Mask which has 15 different types of masks. I got Hyaluronic Acid for the obvious moisturizing claims as well as Ceramide which is also mainly for moisturizing as well as nourishment.

In each is 20 ml of product and I bought them on Jolse for 4.78$  for which you get 3 sheet masks of one type of mask. They often have discounts on Etude House and you can get them for about 20% cheaper. You can also search for these products on Ebay. There are a few of Korean sellers.

Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask - Ceramide

Both of these masks have a very thin 0.2 mm mask. The mask is very saturated with milky white essence. It's extremely wet and sticks to the face really well. You can do your daily activities with it and it won't drip down either.

Here is the ingredients list.

The fit of this mask is one of the best I've tried so far for my face. It actually cover my under eye area and nose, which is rare. Especially my nose, which is bigger, can often make the mask pull away from the skin and just hang on the top of the nose. Mouth hole is the only part that is a bit too big for my face.

It has a gentle scent which is somewhat artificial and I can't really describe it, but for some reason it reminds me of dough, better yet yeast - like a pizza dough. It's not in any way unpleasant.

Milky serum is very moisturizing. It makes the skin super moisturized, soft, plumper looking and gives it a healthy sheen. It can borderline look a bit greasy, if you're skin is not dry or dehydrated. I also feel like it's very nourishing on the skin. Milky essences usually have a bit more than just a basic moisturization to them, they make the skin look nourished and healthier looking in general.

Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask - Hyaluronic Acid

The sheet is the same as with the Ceramide, very thin and fits well. It's very tight around the eyes and I like that, because it means my under eye area gets moisture, but if you don't like that, keep in mind that it is a bit tight.

The ingredients list.

This mask is also drenched in essence and there's a lot of leftover essence in the bag, so don't throw that away. I usually use it as an essence in the morning or in the evening next day.

A tip for you to really get the most out of these sheet masks is also to squeeze the mask once you take it off your face. I find that there's still a lot of essence left in the mask and I squeeze it out and apply on my neck, decolletage and even body. No need to waist it.

The essence of it is transparent and not as milky looking as with ceramide mask.

It has a soothing scent to it, which is also a bit artificial, but actually smells nice.

On the skin it feels very refreshing, soothing, moisturizing and hydrating. My skin looks plumper, well hydrated and almost a bit nourished. It has amazing glow to it and it's kind of sticky at first, but that goes away after it all sinks into the skin.

If you're skin is in need of good moisture and hydration, I'd say go with a Hyluronic Acid one. This one is also great for dehydrated skin in general as is mine - since I otherwise have a combination type of skin. If you're skin is on the drier side and you need a bit of extra nourishment, I'd go with a Ceramide. The milky essence feels more nourishing, although it's also nicely moisturizing.

I like both of these a lot. The fact that the masks are so thin, it makes them easier to wear around the house. They are soaked in essence and there's a lot of it left in the bag for future days. It also fits well on my face and definitely makes my skin look healthier and more moisturized. I'll definitely repurchase these both and maybe even try some other versions in this range.

Review: Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls - Radiant Glow

$

It has been really hot month in Slovenia and I've been looking for products that are easier to use, since I don't always feel like I want a ton of makeup products on my face. What's the point, it's all going to melt down sooner or later. So if you're someone that likes product that can do a few things in one, you'll definitely want to read a review of these Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls in Radiant Glow.

Bronzing pearls come in a brown plastic pot with gold writing. You actually get a sponge on top of the pearls, so that they don't crush into each other and damage. It's also good to keep it for travelling.

In it is 22 grams of product and the regular price is 13.70€. Don't be alarmed, they often have these 50% off and more, so just wait for a good offer.

Pearls in the shade Radiant Glow have three different colors. Pink, light peach and mauve bronze. They all have small silver shimmer in it which gives it a nice sheen to the skin, but doesn't actually look too shimmery.

Pearls have a sweet flowery scent to them and it's a lovely surprise whenever you open them up.

Avon Glow Bronzing Pearls in Pink Bronze is a very light peachy shade with silver shimmer. It's much more shimmery than Radiant Glow. Radiant Glow looks like a perfect combination of a peachy toned bronze shade and a pink. The shimmer in it is more subtle and has a silver pinkish sheen to it. I compared it next to MAC Sheertone Blush in Pinch Me which is a more redish peach shade with no shimmer. H&M Pure Radiance Blusher in Rosy Brown is a dirty brownish pink shade with pink cool sheen. theBalm Hot Mama! is a lot more radiant pink shade with golden sheen to it. I also swatched Wet N Wild Coloricon blush in Apri-Cot In The Middle which is a lighter peachy shade with golden sheen. The base of it looks very similar to Radiant Glow, but it lacks that bit of pinkiness and bronze to it to be the same. If Wet n Wild and MAC Pinch Me had a baby, it would be Radiant Glow with a warm sheen.

The pigmentation is really nice. I usually apply them with a fluffy brush, because you can pick up quite a lot of color with just one swipe.

Formula is not too wet nor too dry to the touch. It applies evenly and gives you a pinkish bronze look with a nice sheen. If you apply it lightly, it gives you a pink toned bronze shade that is suitable for fair skin tones as well as light to medium. If you apply it heavily, it can look a lot pinkier, almost like a blush.

So I apply a light layer where I would usually apply bronzer and then I apply it heavier on the apples of the cheeks to make it more pink. I can almost skip the highlighter with this, because it has such a nice natural sheen. The pinkish tint to it gives it a natural sun burn look. Most people usually have a tint of pink to their skin, if they've been on a sun for too long.

On the photos below you can see my face just with foundation and powder on the right and then with the bronzing pearls on the left. As you can see the bronzing pearls really lift up my complexion and give it more dimension.

It actually looked a lot stronger in person, but my camera just refuses to pick up blush shades.

I also find that the shade lasts on my skin for the whole day. It might fade a bit, as with all products, but it's definitely still there in the evening.

I also have bronzing pearls in the shade Pink Bronze, which I use more as a highlighter when I'm tanned or as a shimmery blush. These have a light peach shade to them with cool silver shimmer through it.

Here you can see Pink Bronze used as a highlighter and Radiant Glow as a bronzer and blush in one.

I love how easy they are to use. It's basically a three in one product. The bronzy pink shade can give you a bit of definition to the face (almost like a contour, if you apply it that way), warmth to it (like a bronzer) and a pinkish tint to it (that looks like you've been out on a sun and if you apply it heavy it's also a pink blush). Pigmentation is great, they don't have too much shimmer, apply nicely, stay well and have a pleasant scent.

Kroglice v odtenku Radiant Glow so treh različnih barv. Roza, svetlo marelične in vijolično bronz.

Bleščice so bolj nežne in imajo srebrn sijaj.

So dobro pigmentirane. Sama jih nanašam z mehkim čopičem, ker lahko z bolj gostim hitro pretirate z nanosom barve. Že z enim potegom dobite dobro pigmentirano barvo.

Kroglice dodajo moji koži malo barve in dimenzije.

Review: L.O.V. Makeup Brushes (EVENelegance, HIGHLYconfidential and LIPlure)

$

You might have noticed a new brand in our drugstores. Actually, it's not that new anymore. It's called L.O.V. and it's a more luxury brand sister of Essence and Catrice. I haven't tried anything from them so far, but I got a few brushes to test out. The brand offers a variety of makeup products for all parts of the face and in May they also added makeup brushes to their range. They also have some Limited Edition seasonal products, although not as often as Essence and Catrice.

I got their LIPlure Lip Brush, HIGHLYconfidential Concealer Brush and EVENelegance Foundation Brush. The names are quite fun to read. All of these come in a black boxes with gold details and a transparent plastic corner that let's you see what's inside.

The brushes have a black handle and gold (with a hint of rose) design that is simplistic. I like it. The bristles on all brushes are black, synthetic and in general quite soft.

All the brushes have a L.O.V. printed at the end of the handle. All I'm missing is names of the brushes on actual handles. Now I'll probably forget what they're named.

L.O.V. EVENelegance Foundation Brush

This is a basic straight cut buffing brush for your foundation. It's actually my favorite type of brush for foundation. I love short bristles, which are usually denser and you can really buff the foundation in or thin it out.

It reminds me a lot of Essence LE Bloom Me Up! blush brush which was my favorite for a while (and has started to fall apart). I bought a fake Zoeva 104 Buffer Rose Golden Vol.2 which also has a similar shape. But the difference with both is that these all have longer hairs and less density.

The bristles in this foundation brush are black, short and quite dense which makes it good for really buffing the foundation into the skin. By tapping it you can get a fuller coverage, but in general it's great for sheering out the coverage by really buffing it into the skin in circular motion.

It can leave stripes on your face, if you don't make sure to blend it out well. I usually buff it in and then use a tapping motion to go over those areas that can look a bit undone.

This is one of my favorite brushes from all three. It just makes it really easy to apply foundation and I like that it has dense hair, so it's easier to really spread it into the skin. I also sometimes use it to blend out concealer, since it's not too big.

It costs 9.99€.

L.O.V. HIGHLYconfidential Concealer Brush

I will say that I am not too keen on concealer brushes in general. For some reason I feel like I can blend concealer better with sponge or just my fingers under the eyes.

This one has a short round cut bristles that are a bit denser, but can still blend the product fairly well. I love to use it with cream concealers. I usually apply my Catrice Camouflage Cream in Wake Up Effect with it, because it picks up just enough of that creamy product and it sheers it out under my eyes, so I don't have a thick base under my usual concealer.

For blending out liquid concealers this can look a bit unblended. I find that the bristles move the product around, but don't actually make it blend into the skin. The bristles may be a bit too stiff for blending. I like to apply concealer with it and spread it, but I blend it in with my fingers.

It's small enough that it fits well into smaller parts of the face like inner corners of the eyes, around the nose and such. I like that I can apply light layer of concealer in my very inner corner of the eye, which is usually dark and harder to reach with finger or sponge.

It costs 7.99€.

L.O.V. LIPlure Lip Brush

This brush looks pointed on that first photo. The bristles were a bit stuck together, because they were new. On the bottom photo you can see that it actually has rounded tip of the bristles. It's quite short, but just long enough to glide around the edges of the lip. The bristles are densely packed together which gives you a good coverage.

I actually love the shape of it. Usually, I've had straight cut lip brushes which were harder to apply lipstick on the actual cupid's bow. Some brushes have round tips as well, but they are too thin. This one is just wide enough for you to get a really nice rounded out edge

It doesn't give you full on coverage at first. You have to go over it with a brush a few times. I love the fact that you can really sheer the lipstick out with it, especially on the edges. I don't really use a lip liner with most of my lipsticks. The slightly sheered out effect on the edges of the lips, makes the application look a lot more modern and effortless.

It costs 6.99€

Here you can see how my face looked like after I applied most of my products with these brushes.

I've cleaned all the brushes a few times and didn't experience any fallout of the bristles, except one that was sticking out of foundation brush. But it might just be a faulty one. In general, if you dry them upside down and make sure to not keep them on hot surfaces, all brushes should keep their bristles. Unless the glue is really crappy.

I also got this lovely promotional gift and it was L.O.V. fragrance which is sadly not for sale. It comes in a transparent glass bottle with black and red details. A good size to travel with.

It has a very soft floral scent to it and it reminds me of some perfume that I must have already smelled, but I can't figured out which one. Unfortunately, I am of no use at figuring out the notes by myself. But it's very subtle, gentle and kind of smells floral.

To be honest, I didn't expect these brushes to be any good. For some reason I think black brush bristles are tough and scratchy. Don't ask me where I got that idea - maybe because cheaper brands had these kind of brushes a very long time ago. But these L.O.V. brushes are quite nice. I am loving foundation brush and recommend it to those that like to sheer out the coverage of thicker foundations or just want something that applies makeup really quickly. The concealer brush was a bit meh. I like it, there's nothing that much wrong with it, but I just use it more with cream concealers, as it blends those out better. For liquids I still prefer fingers or sponge. I also really liked lip brush. In my opinion it has that perfect shape that makes applying lipstick on the edges so much easier.

In Slovenia you can buy L.O.V. products in Müller. In Germany you can get products online here

Review: Essence LE Cubanita (Jumbo Highlighter, Baking & Banana Powder, Cosmetic Bag)

$

Two of my favorite Essence Limited Editions have to be their Christmas or December edition as well as summer edition. This year Essence decided to go with a Cuban vibe named Cubanita, which I am very pleased about. I would actually love to visit Cuba. The vibe seems so fun and chill. Fun fact, I also understand a lot of Spanish language. I actually learnt it through watching telenovelas for years when I was in school (I still watch some here and there) and I would love to go to Spanish speaking countries. My salsa dance ain't that bad either.

Limited Edition Cubanita is giving us tropical products with tropical designs and fun colors. I really wanted to get a highlighter, because I knew it was going to be good (Essence makes one of the best drugstore highlighters) and I was also intrigued by that banana powder. We've probably all heard of Ben Nye banana powder (a crowd favorite) and now many more brands do these variations.

Cosmetic Bag - 01 La Banana Cubana

The collection also has this cute small makeup bag. It looks kind of small, but can actually fit a good amount of products. I could fit all my daily essential touch up products in it and more. These kind of makeup bags usually end up in my bag with additional makeup products and some touch ups.

It has a canvas feel to it and it reminds me of linen, but it's more like a thick durable cotton. It has cute banana on it and the writing livin' la vida banana!

The price is 3.29€.

Baking & Banana Powder - 01 Livin' La Vida Banana

This is a soft yellow mattifying loose powder that is perfect for concealer baking or used as a banana powder to set matte highlights

It comes transparent plastic pot with black plastic lid and yellow writing. It has a small puff inside that is actually very soft and not too fluffy. I often times apply powders with a puff, especially in the summer, because it gives you a lot of coverage and my skin tends to produce a lot more oil in summer.

It has a plastic layer on top and small holes through which you can shake the powder out. The puff is also nice to keep inside, because it prevents powder from spilling all over.

Powder has a very light yellow tone to it. It's finely milled and feels like nothing on the skin. It blends into skin without a trace. The texture is not too wet, but also not dry. It has a matte finish, but doesn't keep my skin matte for long time. At least not any more than usual powders, especially now in summer, when my skin gets a lot oilier.

It's very lightweight and fine, so it doesn't look cakey on the skin. It sets makeup well and gives it a matte smooth finish.

I tried to bake with it under my eyes and it worked good. I don't usually practice baking, because it can make me look too matte and the dryness accentuates my fine lines.

As you can see on the left photo I applied a very light concealer and on the right photo I applied a heavy amount of banana powder. The right side looks darker after the powder and it has a bit of yellow undertone to it. The powder is by no means dark, it's actually suitable for fair, light and even light to medium skin tones. On darker skin, this would probably look ashy.

Because of the yellow tone to it, it will neutralize those purple tones under the eyes.

I mostly just use it all over my face. I have about NC15 skin tone (although now I'm probably more NC20 with darker foundations) and the yellow tone to this powder actually turns my neutral foundations just slight bit more yellow toned, which I love. I have a lot of yellow undertone in my skin naturally and most of my foundations can look more neutral toned.

Yellow powder could also be nice for those of you with lots of redness or pink tones that you'd like to cover. It's just a very subtle veil of yellow tint on top of other makeup products.  I need to touch it up through the day in the summer, although I feel in the winter this would stay on my skin for the whole day.

As you can see on the photo bellow, I don't look particularly yellow, because it's a very subtle effect.

In it is 7 grams of product and it costs 3.99€.

Jumbo Highlighter - 01 Mi Corazon

Highlighter comes in a black plastic packaging with transparent plastic lid. Essence describes it as golden highlighter with intense metallic shine. They also say that it has summer-like coconut scent, buttery soft texture and that it applies very nice.

It has palm leafs embossed in it and I like the design. Although I'll ruin it with use.

The shade 01 Mi Corazon is light gold champagne. It's that perfect light gold shade with slightly peach toned base. The shimmer in it is very small and it gives it a metallic finish

Texture is more on the wet side, which also means it has nice pigmentation. You don't need to scratch it off to get color payoff.

It actually has a good staying power. I still see it on my face at the end of the day, although it sort of melts into my skin and it definitely fades.

The scent is nice, although not coconut. It smells more like something tropical, but not fruity nor coconut like. It's very subtle and almost not that noticeable. So, if you're trying to get it only because of scent, don't.

Here I also wanted to show you how you can bring out the intensity of Cubanita highlighter. You can apply it very light or build it up to a super shiny sheen.

This really is a jumbo highlighter, because it's huge. In it is 20 grams of product (which should almost last you a life time) and it costs 3.99€

Essence Cubanita Jumbo Highlighter vs. theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer

I also compared it to theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen the swatches and my photo saying that these are dupes and I still stand by what I said.

Dupe is different for everybody. For me dupe is something that has very similar color (because let's face it, you're not gonna find the exact same shade) and similar texture.

They are both gold toned champagne shades. The tinniest difference is noticeable once you apply several layers as a swatch. Then you'll notice that Mary-Lou Manizer has a bit more peachy undertone, but looks a lot more metallic and is in general more pigmented with just one swipe. Cubanita is just slightly more yellow toned and can look a tad darker, if you apply several layers, but it has the same tone and is just a bit less metallic. The shine isn't as strong.

Saying all that, once you apply both on each side, you can't really tell a difference. They both look the same on the skin.

If you've always wanted to try theBalm Mary Lou-Manizer, but you can't because it's too expensive or you can't get a hold of it, I definitely recommend you to get this one from Essence. For the price and amount of product you really can't go wrong. Obviously Mary-Lou Manizer has even better texture, pigmentation and metallic sheen, but that's what you would expect from an expensive products.

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer has 8.5 grams of product and it costs around 20€.
Essence LE Cubanita 01 Mi Corazon Jumbo Highlighter has 20 grams of product and costs around 4€.

I also compared it to some other highlighters. As said before theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer is very similar, only more metallic and has a bit more peachy base. Essence LE Metal Glam 01 Gold Digger is my favorite Essence highlighter ever. It's even more metallic than theBalm's. It also has a very light white based gold shade. Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Moonstone is also a light yellow gold shade, but it's actually darker than Metal Glam.

Giveaway

Since I got all of these products for review purposes and I already bought one of the highlighter before, I now have two. So I've decided to give one away to one of you. All you have to do to enter is that you have to follow me on Instagramhere and like my Essence LE Cubanita photo. Under the photo on Instagram comment which is your favorite highlighter of all time

The giveaway is opened to Slovenian residents only and it will end on 20th of July 2017.

Limited edition is already available in Müller.

The Cubanita Limited Edition did not disappoint. I love all the products. The bag is just cute and perfect for carrying around with you in small bag. I have these kind of makeup bags with me all the time.

Banana powder is really nice, because it's so fine, lightweight and has that smooth finish with yellow tint to it. If you're like me and struggle to find light yellow toned foundations, you'll use this all over your face. If not, this is great for extra coverage and correcting under the eyes.

Highlighter is the closest cheaper dupe to theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer I have ever seen and you get a huge amount. I love the champagne gold tone to it, it has nice shine, wet texture, stays on the skin well and it will last me for the rest of my life. If you like gold toned highlighters or are a highlighter freak like me, you'll want this one in your collection.

Review: A'Pieu Pure Block Natural Sun Cream Daily SPF 45

$

A'Pieu is apparently a sister brand of Missha and it's one of the cheaper Korean brands. When I was looking to try out one of Korean sunscreens, I found this one as one of the most raved about as well as cheap. It has won beauty awards and had positive reviews which made me want to try it out. Plus it's also not too expensive.

It comes in a simple white plastic tube with orange details. Well lightweight and great to travel with. They have a few creams in their Pure Block range. I chose Natural Sun Cream Daily with SPF 45.

The top is a screw on and it has small enough hole for you to control how much product you want. Because the formula of it is very light and liquid, it can start to look messy around that hole. But that happens to me with most of sunscreens anyway. Just clean it off every once in a while.

The cream comes wrapped with a plastic wrap, so that you know it's unused. But there is no ingredients list on it, well at least not in English. So I found ingredients list here

It supposedly contains mild ingredients. The three main components are natural aloe vera leaf extract (moisturizing and soothing), berry blossom complex (protects from harmful environment, makes skin clear and bright) and dessert watermelon (calm and protects skin from harmful environment).

I should point out that this is a chemical sunscreen. That is also the reason why the formula is so lightweight and doesn't leave a white cast.

It also has SPF of 45 and PA+++ protection.

It has a light white consistency that is not runny, but is quite thin for something that looks like a regular cream. Once you spread it, it becomes sheer looking, lightweight cream that absorbs into the skin really quickly. It's non sticky and dry to the touch. There is no white cast, even if you apply a thicker layer or reapply it.

The finish that it leaves on the skin is a very slight sheen. It feels sort of velvet, but is not completely matte, because it has a natural sheen. It also feels a bit moisturizing, but in no way dewy or glowy looking. It works good as a makeup base. Even my boyfriend commented how velvet it feels on the skin, like nothing, and he would know, because he absolutely hates face creams.

The cream has strong citrus scent to it, that you smell right after you open it up. I find that the scent vanishes once it's on the skin or maybe I don't notice it anymore. But if you're sensitive to fragrance, keep that in mind.

In the tube is 50 ml of product and I bought it for around 7€ on Ebay from this seller. To me that's a bargain for a sunscreen for the face. You can get A'Pieu in most Korean online stores like Jolse and Rose Rose Shop.

I've been using this daily in the summer months as the last step in my skin care routine. It's so lightweight, has nice velvet sheen, no white cast, is not greasy and in general feels so good on the skin. I also took it with me when I went to the pool and I reapplied it through the day several times and I didn't catch any color or sun burn. Although I would recommend this more as a daily protection, not for swimming on going on holiday, as it's not water resistant or waterproof. They do have a water proof version of this as well.

It also didn't cause me any clogged pores or irritation and I have generally sensitive skin, although it's less irritated in summer months.

If I compare this to usual face sunscreens from drugstore brands and even some other European brands, I'd say that this is the most lightweight and non-greasy sunscreen I've ever had. But then again, I mostly bought physical sunscreens, so I can't really compare properly. If you don't mind a lovely refreshing citrus scent and are not allergic to chemical sunscreen filters than I'm sure you'll love this one. It's simple and wears like nothing, which is all I could ask from a sunscreen.

I will be going to the seaside and am planning on getting a waterproof sunscreen for the face. I am unsure of which one to get. Maybe La Roche-Posay Anthelios, because I've already used it before. If you have any good wateproof suggestions with SPF 50, I'd love to hear about.

Review: Kiko Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara

$

Kiko is actually one of my favorite makeup brands. I love their huge color range and the products are not too expensive, but the quality is good. Their Limited Editions are always really pretty and sometimes look super luxurious for the price. It's my first time trying out their mascaras and I chose Kiko Extra Sculpt Volume Mascara, because it's KathleenLights' favorite drugstore mascara and because it was on sale when I was in the store.

It comes with a black paper box. The packaging of it is shiny black plastic. It has geometric design which is a bit different from the usual.

In it is 11 ml of product and the regular price is 8.95€. I got it on sale for 3.95€. You can buy it online here

It has an oddly shaped wand. The natural hair is longer at the outside corners and the shortest in the center. It makes no sense to me. I get going from shortest from the inner corners to the longest on the outer corners, but not this. However, it doesn't really affect application. It actually covers all of your lashes well. I do think that the brush is a bit too big for my liking. I prefer thinner silicon wands, which allow you to get really close to the roots of the lashes.

Formula is definitely on the wet side and I've had it for a while and it's still not noticeably drier.

One coat gives you nice definition, a bit of volume as well as length. The second coat gives you a lot more volume as well as more length. The lashes look thicker. With the second coat you loose that definition that you got with just one coat. My lashes usually get a bit clumpy looking with these kind of wet formulas. If you have naturally good long lashes and are looking for something to add volume, this will definitely do it for you.

If I apply two coats of this mascara, my lashes drop just a bit, which happens with most mascaras. But it still holds that curl well, all through the day. It doesn't smudge on me (but than most mascaras don't) and it doesn't transfer through the day. The color is a nice regular black.

I really like the volume that this gives me, but I want just a bit more of definition. So I usually use a more defining mascara as a first coat and then go over with this one for more volume and thicker lashes.

On these bottom photos I applied it on its own to show you how thicker your lashes can look.

I usually don't go as heavy with my application and just apply one thicker coat or go over with a very light coat. As you can see here, it actually doesn't look too bad.

Kiko also has this mascara in a waterproof version for the same price.

I have to say, I'm not hating this. It's one of rare mascaras that actually gives you a nice volume to the lashes. They look thicker and longer. I only miss a bit more of definition, which my lashes tend to lack, because they can looks clumpy quickly and I don't have as many to start with. It holds well through the day, doesn't drop my curl and doesn't smudge. If you have naturally good lashes, this will look fabulous on you. Mine are a bit poorer and need more definition to look luscious and fuller.

Review: Catrice LE Soleil d'ete (Metal-Infused Eye Palette and Golden Lip Booster)

$

Catrice's new summer limited edition is named summer sun or french Soleil d'ete. It's all about flowy metallic fabrics and bronzed skin. The collection features bronzing shades for eyes, face and lips. It's a true metallic reflection of summer sun.

Metal-Infused Eye Palette - C01 Metal Muse

Eyeshadow palette comes in a gorgeous reflective gold plastic packaging with black details. It's sturdy and well made. Because it's so metallic, it gets dirty looking quickly. Think fingertips all over the packaging.

In it is 6.1 grams of product and it costs 5.69€.

The placement of shadows inside reminds me of YSL eyeshadow palettes. But then again a lot of other brands do this layout now. Avon Luxe palettes also look like this. Inside is also a handy mirror and I like that you can open it up entirely so that you can get really close to the mirror.

All the shades are quite neutral in a pinkish brown tone. There are varieties of finishes, but in general they are all on the sheerer side, which makes for a very natural looking glowy look.

Shade 1 - sheer light nude with warm pink sheen. It has a wet texture, good pigmentation, but it's sheerer in general. The base is nude and it has small pink shimmer that gives the shade warm pink sheen.
Shade 2 - light warm dirty pink shade. It has wet texture, good pigmentation, but is also a bit sheerer. It has small pink shimmer in it, which makes it a bit sheeny, but is in general quite matte looking.
Shade 3 - medium cool brown. It has taupe undertone to it and small sparse silver and pink shimmer, but it also looks more matte than any other shade in the palette. It's the only one that has a dry texture, which means the pigmentation is not as good. It needs to be build up, but all the shades need that anyway.
Shade 4 - shimmery medium taupe. It has a brown base with intense silver metallic sheen, which makes it look taupe. The shimmer is fine and very dense, which makes this shade almost metallic. It has the most wet texture, to the point where it feels almost creamy. Pigmentation is good.
Shade 5 - warm pink with silver glitter. It has a warm pink base that almost leans on copper. It also has a lot of silver glitter and shimmer in it, which makes it really glittery looking. It feels like a cream, but it goes on as a powder. Pigmentation is good, but it's a sheerer color with more glitter than actual shade.

In general all of these shades need to be build up to look super opaque and intense. They all seem a bit sheerer. Most of these have some fallout. The creamier the shadow, the less fallout. Shade 5 can crease, if you apply too much, because it's so creamy. I haven't experienced any creasing with other shades. They wore nicely, but did fade through the day.

They blended nicely, but the shade 3 can be a bit tricky. Apply it little by little, by avoiding too strong patch on one part.

They're not crazy pigmented and I feel like that was their intention. Some high end brands do these kind of sheerer shades, because they are more wearable and don't need that much blending. The quality is much better than I expected. It's nicely creamy, just on the sheerer side of things.

You can create a very natural look.

On the upper row of that photo I applied shade 1 on the brow bone and in the inner corners. In the crease I applied shade 2. I also applied shade 3 in the outer corner to deepened it up. All over the lid I applied shade 4.

On the lower side of this photo I also applied shade 5 over the center of the lid. As you can see this really makes it a lot more glittery and glowy, but still very wearable.

In this look I used shade 2 all over the lid and I applied a bit of shade 1 on the center of the lid. I also applied shade 3 on the outer corner to deepened it.

I really like shade 4, which is unusual for me. I usually prefer warmer shades, but this is such a universal taupe brown. I love pairing it on top of Maybelline Color Tattoo in On And On Bronze. I am also intrigued by the shade 5, because I just love glittery shades. I love applying it over creamy shades or on top of shade 4 to get that extra glowy shimmery look. Shade 1 looks fun, but is so light that doesn't do much on the actual lid. Shade 2 is nice, but I prefer peachier shades in my crease. It's nice as an all over pink wash. I am also not too keen on shade 3, because it's the driest of all and it needs more blending to look even.

Golden Lip Booster - C01 Golden Sun-Bath

The collection also contains a gorgeous shimmery golden lip gloss. It comes in a transparent plastic packaging with gold details. In it is 5 ml of product and it costs 4.29€.

The applicator is flat and medium width. It actually applies product nicely. You can get it all over the lips precisely, but quickly. It's also fluffy and soft.

It has transparent base with yellow gold shimmer and a silver shimmer here and there. Mostly it's just golden shimmer that you see on the lips.

It applies lovely and is actually quite pigmented, or rather dense in the shimmer department. It's slightly sticky, but not uncomfortable and has good staying power for a lip gloss. Once the glossy part fades off, you're left with mostly just shimmer particles.

I didn't know this before I got it, but it says on the packaging that it contains menthol and you notice this right after you open it up. The scent is quite powerful. It actually feels cooling on the lips and it makes it tingle, which plumps them up. They actually look plumper, when you use this and I like the effect, but I hate the menthol and irritation that comes with it. It just doesn't agree with my sensitive lips and it says on the packaging as well that is not for sensitive lips, so keep that in mind.

If you wear it on it's own, it gives you a nice warm golden shine.

You can also apply it over lipstick or on top of other glossy products. I actually really like it on top of other colorful lip products, but just in the center to add that bit of golden shine. The shimmer is small and still wearable.

The look of this limited edition is so pretty with gold metallic details. I also love their metallic lipsticks, but I probably wouldn't wear them enough to justify the purchase. They also have lovely moussy creamy eyeshadows, a highlighter, liquid bronzer and powder bronzer.

As far as the palette goes, it looks stunning, is small enough for you to carry around and offers a nice range of neutral shades to create wearable shiny look. I would definitely get it for that perfect shimmery taupe shade 4 and gorgeous creamy glittery topper in shade 5 that I now apply on the center of almost every eye look. I wish shade 5 would be bigger though. It's a bit harder to get it on the finger, because it's so small. Keep in mind these are all sheerer, but can be build up and they actually wear nicely.

Golden lip booster is gorgeous to add gold shimmer on top of any lip look. I just hate menthol in it, because I have sensitive lips that get irritated with these kind of plumping ingredients. If you don't have a problem with that, go for it.

It's been a while since my last new in post and I've gathered a few of new products and actually some old ones that I just started using now.

Avon True Nutra Effects Miracle Glow Lightweight Cleansing Oil

It has the same fruity kind-of-grape-like scent as their Lightweight Facial Oil. The formula is quite light, thin and it turns into a milky consistency once it touches the water. It cleans my face well and gets rid off makeup. It's also not irritating and I haven't notice it clogging my pores, but I have to use it a bit longer to be sure. I also tried to remove eye makeup with it and surprisingly it didn't sting my eyes.

Avon Senses Tranquil Oriental Zen Jasmine & Green Tea Shower Gel

Of course I got this because I read it has a green tea scent. It's one of my favorite scents. I don't notice as much green tea as I hoped. It's kind of herbal, but more sweet and a bit floral. I don't know exactly what jasmine smells like. It's a calming and refreshing scent, but not too herbal. I like Avon Senses shower gels in general, because they have such nice fragrances to them. I usually use them more in the summer, when my skin is not irritated or as sensitive as in colder months. It leathers well and the scent lingers on the skin for a bit.

L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash

This was a bargain, so I got it, because I am on a constant search for new good cleansing gels. It has a pearly white gel texture that sticks well to the skin and it foams once it gets in contact with the water. It actually feels quite soothing, since it is for sensitive skin. It doesn't irritate me, despite the comforting floral scent - apparently it has rose and jasmine in it. It cleaned of the remaining makeup and didn't leave my skin dry feeling or tight, but also doesn't leave any greasy film on the skin. It's quite perfect for summer months.

These two are repurchases, because I really liked them. Niacinamide is great for summer months, because it controls oil production and makes pores look smaller. I also use it on my discolorations in hopes of lightening them, but I haven't notice much difference. Hyaluronic acid is just great moisturizing agent that I apply in the evening to really amp up my moisture level in the skin. It's an essential for colder months, but I use it now too.

The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG

This is basically like a caffeine and green tea serum for around the eyes. It's supposed to reduce any puffiness and dark circles. I personally don't have a problem with puffiness (probably because I get a good amount of sleep), but I do have some darkness under my eyes. The Ordinary states that some darkness can be due to a hollowness in the eye contour and this product obviously won't work with that. I do have a bit of a natural shade and hollow part under my eyes, but I also feel like my problem is thin pale skin which tends to show every little vein that is under there. After I've been using this for a couple of months, I noticed that I don't have as much darkness anymore. You cans still see some veins in the inner corners of my eyes, but it's much less intense and less dark than it was before. I also hear that it does wonders for puffiness. It has a light almost water like yellow tinted gel that absorbs into skin really quickly. It has slight herbal burnt scent to it. I always use eye cream on top of it, because it's not moisturizing enough on its own. It literally feels like nothing on the skin.

The Ordinary Colours Coverage Foundation 1.N

After I heard that The Ordinary was coming out with their own foundations at an affordable price, I had to try one. I opted for coverage foundation, because I like a good coverage. I chose shade based on some reviews and got 1.N which should be neutral, but is definitely not. It's a light yellow toned shade with a hint of peachiness to it. It's actually as light as my NC15 Studio Finish concealer, but MAC is slightly more pink toned while 1.N is definitely yellow toned. Once it oxidizes on my skin it turns slightly darker, but it still fits me well now. Although I'm not sure how it will look like on my winter complexion. I was very disappointed with the formula. It spreads nicely and feels lightweight, but for some reason looks obvious on the skin. It's not cakey looking, just very obvious. The finish has a nice sheen, but dries down to a semi-matte finish which sadly doesn't last on my skin. Why I hate it so much, is because it gets so oily looking on my skin in a couple of hours or even before that. I assume that this is due to a coconut oil ingredient that is second on the list. It has good medium coverage, but not full and it just looks too obvious. I expected something more refined, better coverage and definitely not as dewy and oily as it looks on my combination skin. I stopped testing it now, because I have a bit of tan and it's actually to light for me, so the full review will be up somewhere in the fall.

Tony Moly Panda's Dream White Magic Cream

I had tester of this and loved the brightening effect that is gave to my skin, so I ordered it. As with The Ordinary Foundation, I'll use this more in the colder months and I'll do a proper review of it then. It's a lightweight and very opaque white cream that creates a white sheer layer over your skin and therefore makes it look brighter, obviously paler, but also more even toned. I have a sallowness around my mouth and it really bothers me, so I apply this over it and my skin tone looks more even. It has a nice sweet floral scent to it. I'll have to use it more to report how it acts on the skin. This will not be appropriate for medium or dark skin tones, because it will look ashy. It's perfect for pale and light skin tones.

Vichy Idealia Soothing And Illuminating Cream

I've never been a fan of creams like Vichy, L'Oreal and such, because they always had strong scent and fragrance usually irritates sensitive skin. But I got two of these small containers of this cream (15ml) as a gift and I tried it out. It's a pink toned light cream that looks like it has some reflective particles in it. It gives the skin a lovely natural glow, but doesn't feel greasy on the skin. I like it for when my skin is slightly on the oilier side, because I feel it's not super hydrating for the winter. If you have combination or normal skin and like that natural glow to the skin, this might be for you. Despite the fairly strong soothing scent, it didn't irritate my skin. Usually overly fragranced creams tend to burn on my face, but this one didn't. It's also anti-aging and contains black tea, AHA, vitamins, polyphenols and Vichy thermal spa water.

My Beauty Diary Black Pearl Mask

I got this because Mateja raved about it in here sheet mask post and she always mentions this one as one of the best sheet masks she has tried so far. So it was obvious I wanted it. She says that this did more than just moisturize her skin. It made the skin look more even toned, soft and healthy looking. I am for some reason reserving it for special occasion (which may never come), but I should really try it already. You can read more about it and where to get it in Mateja's post. She has tried a lot of sheet masks, so go to her blog for more recommendations.

I've actually already posted a review of it, so you can read more about it here. It's a nice chemical sunscreen for the face that is lightweight, blends into nothing and has a nice velvet finish. Perfect for every day use under makeup.

La Roche-Posay Respectissime Mascara Multi-Dimensions

It's a small tester size of mascara that I got as a gift. I've been impressed by Mascara Extension before, so I was excited to try this one out. It didn't impress me as much. It says that it should lengthen, define and protect lashes. Apparently the formula should fortify lashes, make them stronger and protect against external aggressions. It contains serum with arginine. Most La Roche-Posay mascaras are formulated for sensitive eyes, so this is something to look into, if you have these problems. My eyes usually don't react to usual mascaras. This mascara has a not too wet nor dry texture. One coat gives me nice length and definition, but the second coat makes my lashes thicker,a dds volume and looses definition. I find this mascara to be more of a volume and length mascara rather than defining. It held my curl all day and my lashes felt a bit crunchy to the touch. I got a bit of transfer after an intensive workout, but that is normal, since it's not waterproof.

This was my first La Roche-Posay mascara that I tried a while ago. You can read full review here. The reason I feel in love with this mascara was the fact that it made my lashes really long and it held the curl all day long. So I repurchased it when it was on sale on Feelunique and I started using it again. It's definitely a must try mascara, if you want something that gives your lashes nice length, coats every lash, gives you a defined look with good amount of volume and will hold the curl for the whole day. I adore that my lashes never look clumped with this formula. This one also has some nourishing ingredients that should strengthen and smooth your lashes. It's also formulated for sensitive eyes and for contact wearers. This one is definitely in my top mascaras of all time next to my HG Maybelline Lash Sensational. I love La Roche-Posay as a brand in general, so I'm not surprised that their mascaras are that good.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara Brown

I mistakenly got a brown version when I was buying it in France, which was about a year ago. It was sealed in my box, so I decided I'm just going to use it. I usually prefer black mascaras, but actually love brown eyeliners. So I might even like a brown mascara too. It's actually a nice dark brown color, but I haven't tried it yet.

Etude House Dear Darling Tint RD302

I've had a lip tint years ago and it was from a brand Alverde. I remember using it by the pool as it gives you a nice stain, but doesn't feel like anything on the lips. I wanted to try another one, but this time I got it from Korean brand Etude House. I picked a classic red. It has a slightly thicker almost jelly like texture that isn't that typical water light consistency. It actually feels slightly thicker when you're applying it, like a lightweight gloss and I like that, because it feel more comfortable on the lips. I made a mistake applying it all over the lips and it started to looked cracked and uneven after a couple of hours, but the stain was fairly strong and it lasted well. I believe these products are better used at the center of the lips only and then lightly spread it to the outer corners of the lips. Less is better in my opinion and it gives you a much more natural flush to your lip color. It's not nourishing or moisturizing in any way, but it's also not too uncomfortable. You can always apply a lip balm over it.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-Light Non-Perfumed Fluid Sensitive And Sun Intolerant Skin

What happened to this product? I couldn't find it anywhere in Slovenia and I don't get why did they stop selling it?! It's still one of the most talked about European face sun screens. So I did a little research and found it on sale on Lookfantastic. Thank god for that, because I was desperate. It's one of the rare face sun screens that I can count on. I haven't catch any color while using this or at least not anything noticeable (I'm on my third tube and third year of use). I'm like a ghost up the neck and then tanned down my neck. I got it for my seaside vacation and I already have a full review of it here

EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation in 2.0

I first heard of this foundation from Nikkie Tutorials and because she is fairly light, I thought this might me something for me. I also heard that they are one of the rare brands that does olive undertone and has light enough shades. I chose shade 2.0 based on their helpful guide as they say it's an equivalent to MAC NC15. I only looked at my MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in NC15 in the bottle and EX1 in 2.0 and EX1 looks even a bit lighter. But I have to try it out and I'll report more about it in my Insta stories, since I just got it today. I also had a 20% off code which made it even more affordable and I have to say I was resolving some issue with one of the helpers from Lookfantastic and she was super kind. I also got the package in exactly 5 days, which was a pleasant surprise.

You can read what Nina thinks of it. I spoke to her a little about it and she says that it covered here redness well, but it looked a bit cakey here and there. She thinks it's more suitable for combination and oily skin, so I'm hoping it will be good for my combination skin type and that it will finally match my warm olive undertone.

Bale Sunshine Trip Travel Set

I got it as a gift from a lovely friend, who surprised me. She knows I love coconut. I haven't tried any of the products yet, because I want to take it on holiday. In this cute bag is anti-bacterial hand gel, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. All of the products have a lovely summery coconut scent. I've had a coconut body lotion by Balea once and it smelled exactly the same. It's a super cute set to travel with for a one or two night sleepover.

Paco Rabanne Olympea

I've tried this scent once before and actually kind of liked it, but remembered it smelling a bit too grown up for my liking. Now that I got a set of body lotion and shower gel, I am falling in love with it again. They both have a very strong fragrance, which is to be expected from a perfume inspired products. So far I've only tried body lotion and I love the scent, it's light, but gives a nice sheen to the skin. The scent is quite strong and on me it smells like a sweet woody fragrance. You can read the notes here. This was also a gift from my friend.

NYX Epic Ink Lip Dye in Blazed

I won a giveaway from Kvina and got to choose one of the NYX Lip Dyes. I adore their Soft Matte Lip Creams, so expected these to be grate to. The shade I chose is called Blazen and it's a warm cherry color. On me it actually looks quite dark and I can see myself loving this shade especially in fall. The formula is like a proper very liquid tint with great amount of pigment. It's still on the sheerer side. The thing that makes it so lovely to wear is the fact that this is very lightweight. You can't even feel it on the lips. It dries to a matte finish that is quite sheer and looks like you've been sucking on a pop sickle. I love that worn, stainy look that ti gives to the lips. It can look patchy and it will emphasize any dry patches. It's also really long lasting. As Kvina mentioned in here post, this is really hard to remove. I tried it with an oil and it was a struggle, so make sure you get it on right, cuz it ain't comin' down.

She also gave me samples of Mimitika Face Sunscreen SPF 50 and Clinique Superprimer. Sunscreen is from a French brand and it's a white cream that blends in the skin well. It leaves a transparent glowy finish to the skin and feels like it has no scent to it. Primer has a funky white cream like texture and it blends on the skin really smooth. It feels very much like most silicon primers but with a touch of moisturizing feel to it. It made my skin look smoother and pores smaller, so I liked it. Thank you Kvina.

Malinca Clay Mask and Cocoa Orange Butter With Gold Glitter*

I'll have a full review of both products up really soon. It's a basic gray clay mask in a powder form that you mix with water. I really like the simplicity of it and it does a good job of cleaning the skin. I also got this cute heart shaped cocoa butter with orange scent. It smells exactly like dark chocolate with orange and it has small gold glitter in it. This melts into the skin lovely and smells so yummy.

Avon Mark Magix HD Finishing Powder*

I've been testing out another loose powder, so I haven't even tried this on yet. I hear it's quite nice though.

Avon True Nutra Effects Micellar Cleansing Water*

I really don't like this. It's because it stings my eyes and I usually use micellar waters to remove eye makeup, because I use oil cleansers for the face. So this is of no use to me. It removes makeup well, but it's not impressive, has kid of artificial scent and looks like water. I featured it in my disappointing products here

Avon Advance Techniques Dry Shampoo*

I wasn't impress with this either. It kind of reminds me of the Colab dry shampoo and I much prefer something really de-greasing like Batiste. It adds texture to the hair and kind of fluffs them up, but doesn't really soak up as much oil as I would like. It looks pretty much transparent and has a nice fruity salon like hair scent. I have to use it a bit more to really test it properly.

I'm probably one of the rare ones that isn't that impressed with this product. I've had it before and I liked it, but I much prefer other Avon hair oils. It's like a liquid oil that you can quickly overdue. It's more of a proper oil and not as smooth feeling as some silicon based oils. But it also doesn't feel as nourishing, it's just mostly hydrating as long as you have it on your hair. Read full review here. I much prefer their Moroccan Argan Oil which really nourishes the hair and makes them look healthier.

Avon Sun Magic Tan Moisturizing Self-Tan Lotion For Face And Body*

I only used it once on my face and I mixed it with my evening moisturizer. I've used their Avon Sun Magic Tan Sel-Tan Bronzing Mousse With Firming Complex all over my body and I loved it. So I used this one that is for face to just add slight color, so that I don't have a pale face and tanned body. It worked well. It's a pearly white liquid texture with golden shimmer in it, which I could do without. It's actually not as noticeable on the actual skin, but it's just not necessary. The scent is kind of fruity tropical, although I did smell a bit of that burnt scent in the morning. Some said to be that they were patchy after using this particular product, some didn't. I think it's up to how well you prep the skin and how evenly you apply it. I'm probably going to try this again on my face when I get some real tan on my body. But get the mousse version, if you want something for the body. I really liked the result of that one, just apply it very thinly.

Avon Skin So Soft Silky Moisture + Argan Nourishing Dry Oil Body Spray*

This is exactly what is says it is, a dry oil for the body in spray form. I love the convenience of a spray. It makes application easy. It also makes my skin really soft and not greasy to the touch. It absorbs into the skin well, but gives it a nice sheen. The scent is what bothers me. It's sort of full of alcohol and a natural scent which must be argan, because I really don't like the scent of argan oil. However the alcohol is not concerning, because I don't feel it burning on the skin, it's probably just in to dilute the oil.

Avon Sun After Sun Soothing After Sun Body Butter*

It has thicker white cream consistency that almost looks like butter, but is a lot more lightweight. It's so think that you have to really massage it into the skin, but then it disappears. There's a velvet matte layer left on the skin. Make sure to not apply it to thick, because then it can start to roll off the skin. It sort of creates a protective layer on the skin, but I don't find it to be particularly moisturizing. It has kind of a weird soothing scent to it. Maybe it's a shea butter scent, which I've noticed it's among the ingredients as it's cocoa butter.

Avon Luxe Lip Balm in Natural Tint*

I have it in the shade Honey Tint, which I adore. I also got it in the shade Berry Tint. Because I have those two colorful shades, I'm not sure if I'm going to use this one. But it's basically like a proper beeswax based lip balm that either has some color to it or no color like Natural Tint. I like how comfortable this wears and it gives you a nice natural tint to the lips.

Avon Senses Limited Edition Sunny California Glow Pink Grapefruit & Fragipani Shower Cream*

Yet another yummy smelling shower gel. Well this one is more creamy and has that gorgeous tangerine color to it. It smells like a fruity pop sickle, absolutely perfect for summer. It's a huge packaging with 500 ml of product to last me all through the summer.

I already mentioned the Cleansing Oil and now I got another one today. I'm excited, because I really like it so far.

Avon Luxe Shape Sensation Lipstick in Incredible*

It's a moisturizing lipstick with collagen in the center to help plump up the lips. I haven't tried it yet, only on the back of my hand and it's really nicely creamy. Shade Incredible is a classic cool toned red. These are new to Avon and they have 5 shades in total from a more peach, pink to berry shade.

Avon True Colour Glimmerstick Diamonds Eyeliner in Golden Diamond*

Avon has a huge selection of glittery eyeliners, in fact they have 9 shades and now they added two new. I got one of the new called Golden Diamond. It's a creamy formula with yellow gold base and yellow gold shimmer in it. It will look stunning on the inner corners or even over other eyeshadows. I have to wear it to see how it performs. The other new shade is called Flashy Copper.

This is the latest Catrice's summer Limited Edition that you can already find in stores - Müller to be exact and other online stores. I tested an eyeshadow palette and shimmery golden lip gloss. You can read more about it here

Essence also has a pretty summer Limited Edition called Cubanita. I've been testing the jumbo highlighter (which is theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer dupe), their yellow toned banana loose powder and funky looking small cosmetic bag. Read more about the products here. It's already in stores.

Review: Malinca Clay Mask and Cocoa And Orange Bar With Gold Shimmer + Giveaway

$
0
0
I've been testing out two fun skin care and body care products that are perfect for hot summer months. It was my first time using natural clay mask in a powder and I find the process of mixing it up quite satisfying. The cocoa bar with orange and gold shimmer is like a dark chocolate with orange flavor for your body. Just don't eat it.

Malinca Clay Mask*

It comes in a white plastic pot with grey lid. Malinca in Slovenian means raspberry that's why you'll find raspberry illustrations on their products. The packaging is fine, you just have to be careful opening it up so that you don't spill the clay all over.

In it is 90 grams of product and the regular price is 5.99€ although you can often find it cheaper. You can buy it here

It's the most natural way of using a clay mask as the only ingredient in ti is 100% grey clay in a powder.

It has a light grey color with a tint of olive to it. It's finely milled.

On the instructions says to mix with water in the ration of 3:2, but you can obviously mix it how you like. You can make it really thin or slightly thicker. I prefer it to be a bit thicker so that it covers the face evenly. Here you can see how I mixed it with water and I actually used way too much of the clay. A little goes a long way. Small teaspoon is more than enough for your whole face.

Once it's wet it looks a bit darker and it dries to a lighter grey olive shade. I've read that apparently you're not supposed to let these clay masks dry down completely, so it is advised to leave it on the face for 2 to 3 minutes only.

It's a very basic natural clay mask that has that muddy scent to it and is recommended for all skin types. I've never used these masks in a powder form and I think it's kind of fun to mix it on your own. You can essentially also add your own things to it like oils, yogurt, oats, honey, essential oils... depending on your preferences and needs. The possibilities are endless. I'm definitely going to try this in the future.

It worked nice and definitely made my skin smoother and it looked cleaner, but I wouldn't say it's deeply cleansing which is means it's less harsh than most store bought clay masks. This means it's better for sensitive and drier skin. But clay masks in general are a bit drying, so you'll need to apply skin care after you use it. It's especially good product for summer when skin tends to get more clogged up.

Keep in mind that clay masks won't get rid of stubborn blackheads and they also work much better, if you prepare your pores before, like sitting in a hot bath or putting your face over a steam to open them up.

Malinca Cocoa And Orange Bar With Gold Shimmer*

It comes in a plastic transparent pot with raspberries design and silver top. The pot is actually quite big. Inside is a small plastic protector that sits on top and prevents the bar from scratching.

In it is 50 grams of product and the regular price is 10.99€, but you can also find it on sale sometimes. You can buy it here

The ingredients list is quite natural. The main ingredient is organic cold pressed cocoa butter with orange and gold shimmer.

It comes in this cute heart shade. The cocoa butter has a slight yellow tint to it and it smells divine. Like a proper dark chocolate with orange flavor. I love me some of these, so whenever I use this, I start craving chocolate. It also has sparse small shimmer in it, which actually almost looks more like a glitter. It's not that noticeable, it just might spark a little here and there

Cocoa butter is very good for skin. I've researched it when I was looking for natural butters and oils to help me with my dry lips and cocoa butter was high on recommendation list. It actually softens the skin and gives it a nice protective, nourishing and moisturizing layer.

Because it's in a fun bar shape, you can also use it for massage. It's the best to be used after a shower, because the skin is slightly warmer then and it melts better. I find that you can also use it through the day, as your skin has a good warmth anyway.

It's not too sticky or greasy like oils, but it gives the skin a nice sheen and it absorbs quite well. It's just moisturizing enough that it will make your skin look nourished and healthier

They also have a regular cocoa butter bar and one with a mint flavor, if you prefer an After Eight scent.

Both of these products you can get on Malinca, which is a Slovenian online store that offers a wide range of natural foods as well as skin care, sports clothing, hand made jewelry, candles and many more. They also have blog with fun recipes using natural and healthy ingredients. Usually you'll find a few recipes under each ingredient that they sell. I love buying my Golden Tree Whey Protein in Vanilla from them, as it's one of the rare whey proteins that doesn't have artificial sweeteners. Basically one of the most natural proteins that I've found so far. I make small protein balls from it, use it as a flour for my american pancakes and such.

They also ship to most EU countries, so definitely check them out. I love their range, because they have a lot of products that are harder to get in Slovenian stores.

GIVEAWAY

Here is the fun part. I will be giving away both of these products to one of your. All you have to do is go to my Instagram and find a photo of those two products. Further details are under that photo.

Giveaway is opened for Slovenian residents only.

July was a low maintenance month. I've been testing some new products, loving some oldies and just mostly did easier makeup looks, because I couldn't be bothered to do any more in this hot weather.

Fa Coconut Water Shower Gel

This was such a lovely smelling shower gel that reminds me of summer. It's not really all that coconuty, more tropical and it has that basic transparent gel consistency that foams well. I want to get Coconut Milk version next.

Avon Senses Limited Edition Tranquil Oriental Zen Jasmine & Green Tea Shower Gel

Yet another shower gel that I like the scent of. Kind of herbal, yet sweet and refreshing with a transparent green gel consistency that foams well. Not much to say about shower gels, other than I like those two scents.

L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash

It's a pretty basic pearly white gel that cleans my skin well, but doesn't leave it too striped down or tight feeling. It's also not too nourishing to leave your skin with a greasy layer. I feel like this is perfect for summer, if you want something that feels almost a bit soothing, but removes the dirt well and isn't too rich.

Phyto Phytovolume Actif Volumizing Spray

I have been testing some small sized Phyto products and I really like this volumizing spray. The scent is kind of artificial and not the most typical hair salon like. But it's a liquid product that I spray in my hair while they are still damp and then I blow dry it. I mostly spray it through the roots and a bit on the length of my hair. It definitely adds a nice amount of volume with a good grip to it. It's kind of raw to the touch, but I like the effect of a more thicker hair and this gives it to me.

Avon True Nutra Effects Active Moisture Hydration Overnight Gel-Cream

I have a day cream version that I use all year around, except in the summer. In the summer I love to use this version, even though it is intended for a night use. It's a transparent gel formula that sinks into the skin well, but feels like a boost of water has been added to your skin. It's not as glowy and heavy as the daily version, so it's perfect for summer, if you need hydration, but not too much nourishment. I even use it in night time after my serums. It's also good for sensitive skin.

I always fall back in love with this foundation as the summer comes. It's too dark for me in other months, but now it's just about right. This has such a nice lightweight feel on the skin, but gives you a nice amount of coverage and a velvet finish to the skin. It never makes my skin look greasy and doesn't feel heavy. It's definitely one of the best foundations in drugstore. I just wish they had more shades.

This is the old version of it, I believe it's called Mark Magix Setting Spray now. I absolutely love this and use it every time I wear makeup. It's an essential for summer months, because it actually helps the makeup to stay on longer. It has a fine mist with an artificial scent, that I don' mind and it really fixes makeup and prolongs its wear.

This is such a classic favorite product that I always go to when I want something really easy and quick on the eyes. It's a classic taupe bronze shade that gives you a nice sheen and looks like you've put effort in how you look, but you just used a fluffy brush and applied it all over the lid in 2 minutes. I love this for summer especially, because I can't be bothered to always apply 5 different shades. It looks luxurious and suits many skin tones and eye colors.

I especially want to talk about the shade in the middle. It has a coppery base with lots of small silver glitter that I have been putting over most of my eyeshadows to give me that lovely shine. It's so creamy that you don't need to use too much, but it makes any eyeshadow more glamorous looking and a lot shinier. What can I say, I love a bit of glitter on the eyes.

I've had this mascara in the past and I really like it for its definition. Now I started using it again and I still like how well this defines the lashes, makes them look longer and gives them just a slight volume. Mascara also holds the curl well, but it's not the best for those of you that like a lot of volume. It also doesn't smudge or fall down.

This is my most used highlighter this month. It's so affordable and looks so good. It has light yellow golden sheen, is finely milled and has a good amount of shine. It's actually an affordable dupe for theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer. Heavily swatched they look a bit different, but on the skin you almost can't tell a difference.

I've been dealing with dry lips again, which is just so annoying. That's when I tend to resort to moisturizing and not overly pigmented lip products. But to avoid wearing only boring basic lip balms, I have a few of these from Avon Luxe line. Honey Tint is my favorite, since it has an orange brown tint to it and it just goes with most of my makeup looks. This is a nice wax based lip balm with good amount of color to it and it always feels nourishing and comforting on the lips.

When I want some extra shine to my lips in those dry-lip-days, I go for Catrice's Lip Smoothers. Apricot Cream is my favorite shade as it has milky peach color to it. It feels so soothing on the lips and really comfortable. It's more like a really nourishing lip gloss in a tube. I am so sad that Catrice stopped selling these. It's one of my all time favorite lip products.

Man vs. Child Chef Showdown

I came across this cooking tv show on Fox Life and I'm hooked. It's a cooking show where child cooking prodigies compete against executive-level chefs. They have three rounds of competitions and in every episode there's another theme. I was just astounded by what these little kids can cook. I can't do half of the dishes that they do and their knowledge is just as impressive. My favorite contestant is Estie Kung, a small Asian girl with adorable face and fighting spirit. If you like cooking shows and you want to mix it up with adorable kids, then you'll love this show.

Review: L'Oreal Fine Flowers Gel-Cream Wash Dry & Sensitive Skin

L'Oreal came out with this Fine Flowers skin care range. I haven't seen any of these products in our drugstores, so I'm assuming we don't have it in Slovenia. But I did find it in Austria as well as online stores. I bought Gel-Cream Wash on a whim, because it was on sale and sounded good. A quest to find the perfect washing gel comes over me every summer. Some cleansing milks just feel to heavy and I want something that does the job, but doesn't feel too heavy or leave my skin dry feeling.

It comes in a half pink and half transparent tube. The tube is slim and long which means it will start falling off your shelf as soon as you touch it. But I like the practical tube packaging anyway.

In it is 150 ml of product and the regular price is 4.79€ on Feelunique. I bought it there, but when it was on sale, so it cost me 3.36€.

The opening is small enough and it doesn't spill the product all over, which is nice.

Here is the ingredients list.

L'Oreal says that the wash contains extracts of rose and jasmine flowers. It should make your skin soft, comfortable and fresh. The gel-cream texture emulsifies in the water and creates creamy foam that cleanses and softens the skinwithout drying it out.

Rose is known for its soothing and comforting properties and jasmine for protective and moisturizing properties.

It also doesn't contain any alcohol or soap.

The gel-cream is actually like a mix of thinner milk and classic gel. It's pearly white and very runny. Once you massage it in the skin with a bit of water, it turns into a milky white consistency that foams, but not too much.

I like it, because it doesn't sting my eyes. It has a subtle soothing scent and I don't smell any flowers, which I like. On the skin it feels soothing, but also efficient in removing leftover makeup. I do a double cleanse, so oil cleanser and then this. I also use it in the morning to wash off any leftover dirt and product and it does the job well. I wouldn't use it as a first cleanse when removing makeup, although you can and it does remove it well with a bit more effort.

After I wash it off, my skin is left feeling clean, fresh, soft and not dry nor does it have any nourishing layer on top (like some cleansing milks tend to leave behind). It's a perfect cleanser for hot summery month in that it feels lightweight, does the job and doesn't dry out your skin. I have sensitive skin in general, but it's less irritated in the summer. This cleanser doesn't irritate my skin right now, but I can't say for sure for those of you with really sensitive skin.

The Fine Flowers range includes products like facial wipes, cleansing toner, cleansing milk and cleansing balm. Most of these products also have two versions, one for dry and sensitive skin and one for normal to combination skin.

I have to say I like it. It cleans well, feels lightweight, doesn't irritate and doesn't dry out my skin. What more could I wish for?! It's perfect for hot summer months as a morning cleanse or a second cleanse in the evening. The price point is also quite nice.

Review: Essence Blush Play Sculpting Blush Palette (10 Play It Peach)

I thought these sculpting blush palettes were a gimmick, since I usually just use one blush shade all over and I'm not too keen on blushes anyway. I like a good flush of color, but mostly very subtle. But Essence's Blush Play Sculpting Blush Palette really made me like this concept. It creates a dimensional look with three colors. You'll especially like this palette, if you're not into bronzers or highlighters and prefer blushes.

It comes in a plastic white packaging with transparent lid. I like minimalistic design with transparent lid that let's you see the actual shades.

In it is 8 grams of product and it costs 4.39€.

As far as I know it only comes in one shade called 10 Play It Peach. But the palette itself includes three blush shades. You can obviously use these individually or use them together to create a more dimensional look.

Formula is on the drier side. The most creamy shade of all is Define, which is also the most pigmented. Both shimmery shades Highlight and Define have good pigmentation too. Sculpt is less pigmented, which is kind of expected for a more matte looking blush. I also like that because this shade is dark and I don't want to apply too much at once. In general pigmentation is good and the brush picks up color well.

Staying power is also good. I still notice it on my skin at the end of the day, but it definitely fades a bit. The most long lasting shade is the darkest Sculpt.

Highlight - it's a very light peach shade with lots of small shimmer in it that gives off a silver sheen, but with a hint of peach to it. If you apply it heavily it almost gives you a pinkish sheen to it.
Sculpt - medium vibrant red toned peachshade. This one is the darkest in the palette and it has a more redish peach tone, but it's still vibrant. It's not completely matte, but it has just a tiny bit of sheen to it, more like a satin finish.
Define - light vibrant shimmery peach shade. It has a bit more of pink tone to it and tiny light gold shimmer which gives it a bit of sheen, but it's in no way full on shimmery. The shade is quite vibrant and it's one of my favorites from this palette. It also has the best pigmentation and the creamiest texture.

I also wanted to compare these shades to some of my other blush shades.

The closest shade to Highlight that I have is Catrice LE Treasure Trove Golden Powder in C01 Golden Grace. Catrice is more of a proper highlighter, but it has that beige peachy tone to it, although it's darker and not nearly as white peach toned as Essence.

I also didn't find any dupe in my collection for the shade Sculpt. I compared it to MAC Blush in Pinch Me, which is darker and has a bit of that pink tint to it, but it's more of a redish brown shade. I also swatched it next to H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in Rosy Brown, which is also darker and a lot more brown toned. Essence Sculpt is more vibrant compared to these two.

Next to the shade Define I swatched Trend It Up Powder Blush in 010 which is a lot more muted pink. More of a dirty pink and it's also darker. I also swatched theBalm Hot Mama! blush and it's also darker, but has a nice golden shimmer to it. As with Sculpt shade, this one is also a lot more vibrant than my other blushes.

I usually use just one shade at a time or one darker shade and a highlighter shade, but I wanted to show you that you can create a lovely dimensional application of blush by using all shades.

I used Define to apply all over the cheek and even a bit further back to the hairline, because I like blush to also be a bit sculpting. Then I applied Sculpt only on the apples of the cheeks to make it appear more natural. The strongest color in the center and then fading into a lighter color as you go towards the edges of your application. Sort of like you would blush naturally. Then I also applied Highlight on the tops of cheeks, blending it into my other two blush shades, but mostly keeping it on the upper half. It gives you a lovely glow and it replaces your usual highlighter on tops of cheeks.

Here is also a comparison of me not wearing any blush on left photo and then with all three shades on the right photo. My camera makes it hard to pick up blush colors, but I hope you can see the difference.

I love that you can make your look all about blush and with these three shades create a really dimensional look. Obviously you can do this with your own blushes, use two different tones and a highlighter, but here you have all three shades in one palette.

I quite like this palette, although I wouldn't have picked it up myself, because blushes are not a priority in my makeup collectionb. It's a  fun concept and it creates a really dimensional look, if you use all three shades together. You can use shades separately too. They have good pigmentation, buildable texture and fairly good staying power. I also like all the shades, although I wouldn't say they're all really peachy.
