Review: Balea Aqua Tuchmaske (hydrating sheet mask)

Hey Beauties!

I just have to make a separate blog post about this mask. Usually I never review such cheap one-use products, but this one is a complete star. I'll just admit that most of Balea stuff don't really get me excited, so I was very surprised how much I liked this.

Since I've been seeing those sheet masks all over the internet, I also wanted to give it a try. I saw that Balea had one for hydrating the skin and I gave it a go. It costs only 0.99€.

It's one sheet mask and it comes in this plastic bag. It's suppose to hydrate and pick up dull skin. It contains algal extract, almond oil and rose hip oil.

The ingredients list.

When you take the sheet out, you immediately notice that it's really wet. Some moisture even stays on the bottom of the bag.

I find that it fits nicely on my face, but the eye opening could have been wider. It's so wet that it sticks on the face and doesn't move. It feels like a mixture of gel and water to me. It's really smooth and slippery, but not in any way like a cream. More like a hydrating gel. I leave it on for as long as I have time to and it does a good job of hydrating the skin. It's also pretty cool because of the water, so it's also a bit cooling.

When I take the mask off I'm left with a lot of product on my skin and it says to just massage the rest of it into the skin. It's all very cooling and hydrating and it feels lovely on the skin in those summer days.

I feel like my skin did feel a lot more hydrated after I used this and the proof was another day when I woke up with nourished skin. I've mentioned in one of my previous posts that I recently had problems with very dry and irritated skin. As my last solution I used this mask (because I already used it once before and I really liked it). I swear my skin was perfect the next day. Yes, I did use some other products a few days before trying to combat the dryness, but this one did the last trick and it turned my skin back to normal.

Here you can see how the skin looked like before I put the mask on (with nothing on) and how it looked like after I took the mask off.

Think I'm done convincing you. It's 0.99€, just try it and do let me know how you like it. If you have problems with dry skin this is perfect and it's a great pamper product for when you're in that kind of mood.

Strobing / highlighting and my take on it

Hey Beauties!

I suppose you've seen or heard about strobing. These days it seems to be everywhere. I've seen two YouTube videos on how to achieve the look and have seen many photos of models having an incredible glow. As a person who loves highlighters I had to try the technique, although is basically just highlighting.

As I've investigated, strobing is just another fancy word for highlighting. Some say that strobing should be done with cream highlighters, some I've seen do it with powder highlighters. Contouring and highlighting has been dominating Instagram and the beauty scene ever since Kim Kardashian started doing her fierce contour. Now apparently, we've thrown away bronzer and contour products and just use the heck out of highlighting products.

For this purpose I used cream product, because I wanted to test my new cream highlighter. It's from Born Pretty Store, called Sugar Box Face Shimmer Stick in the shade 02. It's beige pink based cream product with golden shimmer. I still need to write a review of this one, but you can see how it looks like here

The technique is pretty much the same as with highlighting. You use your usual foundation and concealer and then move to cream highlighter. If you're using powder highlighter, it's best to use some sort of powder underneath it.

You then highlight the usual highlighting areas or all the areas that stick out on your face. Above the brow, under the brow arch, in the inner corner of the eye, on tops of cheeks, on top of bridge of the nose (or down the whole nose or just the tip of the nose), Cupid's bow, top of chin and you can also highlight center of the forehead. I personally avoid the last one, because it makes me look greasy and I don't want to bring more attention to my huge forehead.

The result should be a really nice natural glow accentuating your natural features, without using any contouring or bronzing. As you may see on the photos below it really looks like a well balanced healthy glow. I can't say this would look as pretty few hours later or on oily skin, but I think you got the point.

Here is the difference. On the left photo I only have foundation and concealer and on the right photo I have cream highlighter, cream blush and a bit of powder under the eyes and around the nose.

I personally think that this technique is better suited for those with medium to dark skin tone, because highlighted areas really tend to stand out more, whereas on my fair skin it's very subtle. Of course, it's suppose to look like "your skin", but if you're a highlighter freak like me, you probably want the glow to be seen from space.

I like to use bronzer, especially in the summer, because it gives a bit more color and definition to my pale face. Of course I also use highlighter and the combination really brings out my features. I won't lie that I love how it shrinks my huge forehead. I'll probably stick to using both bronzer and highlighter, but I definitely will try strobing if I leave my bronzer at home :).

So what do you think of it? Do you like the whole finished result or are you gonna stick to bronzer and contouring?

Review: Farmasi Shine Rush 2 in 1 (shade 02 and 10)

Hey Beauties!

Today I'll review and interesting 2 in 1 product from Farmasi. It's their Shine Rush 2 in 1, which has a lipstick on one side and lip gloss on the other.

The product has an interesting packaging. It's transparent plastic and it has two ends. On one is lipstick and on the other is lip gloss. I will say this is practical, if you like to carry both options with you.

On the back side of lip gloss you also have small mirror, which is extremely practical. I know this, when I try to reapply lipsticks and have no mirror around.

Lipstick has a regular lipstick bullet form. The lip gloss also has one of those doe foot applicators, pretty standard.

Here is the ingredients list.

Shade 10

Shade 10 is berry pink combination. The lipstick is actually more berry pink shade and the lip gloss is very cool toned pink shade. It has small silver shimmer in it, which makes it look like a pearl finish. I will say the shades are not complete match, since the lipstick is a lot more berry pink and the lip gloss is more of fuchsia cool pink.

On top is the lipstick and on the bottom is lipstick with lip gloss over it. As soon as you apply the lip gloss on top it turns into a lot cooler shade of pink.

As you can see the lip gloss on its own is a lot cooler and pearl like.

Lipstick

Lipstick + lip gloss

Lip gloss

Shade 02

Shade 02 is a lot warmer pink. It's a medium shade of warm pink. The lip gloss is actually almost the exact same shade with little gold shimmer. In this one the shimmer is more visible and sparse. It looks like it doesn't belong and it doesn't transform the lipstick into pearl like finish.

On top is the lipstick and on the bottom is lipstick with lip gloss over it. The shades are very similar. The lip gloss makes lipstick look glossy and the shimmer in it is sparse and doesn't do much.

Here is just the lip gloss. As you can see the shimmer is more visible, when you apply just the lip gloss on its own.

Lipstick

Lipstick + lip gloss

Lip gloss

Both lipsticks have no shimmer in it. The texture is very lightweight and creamy, but not buttery or sticky. Both lipsticks have good pigmentation, but you need to apply two or three coats to completely cover any gaps on the lips. They remind me of those old school lipstick formulas, just very basic formula.

Lip glosses are also very basic. They are pretty sheer, but can be build up to a certain degree. They definitely have that sticky feeling, which I actually like (except when it's windy). They also both have shimmer in it. 02 has bigger and sparser gold shimmer and 10 has smaller and more pearly shimmer.

I'll say that I prefer lip glosses over lipstick. I like the shades of both lipsticks, but the formula is just so basic that it didn't impress me. Lip glosses are also basic, but then I don't expect lip glosses to have special formulas. Both products are creamier so they are not very long lasting.

Here are also swatches of them again. From left to right: shade 10 lip gloss and lipstick and shade 02 lip gloss and lipstick.

I like the concept of this 2 in 1 lip product. It's very useful to have lipstick and lip gloss in one, if that's what you're looking for. You can opt for either option when you desire or just combine both for that ultra sexy shiny lip. I also love the mirror and the whole packaging thing is spot on. However, I feel like they put more effort in the packaging then the formulas. Both formulas of lipstick and lip gloss are just really basic. In the world of constant formula improvements and new technologies, I just think they could have done it better. But if you like the shades and that strikes your interest, go for it. It's definitely not bad, it's just not impressive.

I also reviewed some of the other Farmasi products: Eyebrow Styling Powder, Eye Brow Pencil and Kajal Secret Eyeliner Pen.

V tem so bleščice bolj vidne in bolj redke.

Spominjata me na starodobne formule šmink, res zelo osnovna formula.

Lip glosi so zelo osnovni.

Ni slab izdelek, ampak me zagotovo ni impresioniral.

Več o izdelkih in podjetju si lahko preberete tukaj. Ocenila sem tudi nekaj drugih Farmasi izdelkov: Eyebrow Styling PowderEye Brow Pencil in Kajal Secret Eyeliner Pen.

Review: Born Pretty Store Blush Palette

Hey Beauties!

I've been into blush palettes since I got the one from Elf. Having more shade options for different looks makes me happy. Born Pretty Store also sent me one palette with four different shades.

The packaging is very - almost too basic black plastic palette packaging. It's the kind that you would purchase on ebay for few cents. That being said, it is very light, but other than that nothing special.

Inside you get four blush shades. First circle has two pink shades and the second circle has warmer shades of peach and another pink.

It costs 11.99$ and you get around 130 grams. You can buy it here.

The shades from left to right: shade 1, shade 2, shade 3 and shade 4. For better reference for when I'll be describing them.

Shade 1: cool (blue) toned fuchsia pink. It almost looks a bit purplish.
Shade 2: warm baby coral pink. It looks like it has a bit of peach undertone mixed with soft pink.
Shade 3: light warm peach.
Shade 4: warm toned bright pink. This one is more redish toned pink.

The darker shades are more pigmented and give more color payoff (shade 1 and shade 4). The other shades need some building up, but still have good pigmentation. My problem is the texture. It's really dry and it can quickly look chalky or ashy. So you have to work with it, to get it perfect. I don't recommend using this on top of foundation, because it will look really patchy. You definitely need to powder the area before applying those blushes and it might look better with soft blush brushes. Saying that, you can easily overdue the color, especially with darker shades. Always put on less and then build up.

And now I'll show you how the shades look like on me. I love that even cool toned blush shades look warmer on my skin, which means the shades pretty much adapt to different skin tones. Excuse my skin, I've been battling with some irritations and dry skin lately.

Shade 1

The shade has a true blue undertone and would look amazing on cool skin tones. On me it transformed into warmer lighter pink version.

Shade 2

It looks like a true baby pink and coral mixture on me. It's one of those soft shades that will look really nice on fair skin tones.

Shade 3

This one is the most my "natural" shade. It's perfect light peach shade that would also look amazing on fair warm skin tones.

Shade 4

I feel like this one is the brightest and the easiest to go overboard with. It's really pigmented and it can quickly look like Marie Antoinette flushed cheeks on you. This would be amazing on medium skin tones.

I like the fact that you get four blush shades for the price, since you can have more options when playing with your makeup like I often do. I don't like the texture, because it's very pigmented, but turns too ashy and patchy when you apply it. It didn't impress me for the price, but I'll probably still find the use for it. But if you're willing to make some effort with this product, go for it.

Summer Haul

Hey Beauties!

I've been spending and getting a lot of amazing new products. Since I often forget to review some products, I wanted to write a little haul and tell you how much I like or don't like certain products so far.

Avon Beauty Box

It doesn't actually have that name, but that's just what I call it. Avon usually has some Logo Limited Editions and in one of those right now is this fun sturdy paper box. You can put in tissues, cotton pads and cotton swabs (or those cosmetics swabs, like I have). It has magnetic closing and so far I really like it. It keeps all my products at one place and it's near my makeup corner, so I have my tools in sight, when messing up my makeup. Plus the water color flowers design is so pretty.

Afrodita Coconut Milk, Alverde Water Love, Fa Cream & Oil Cocoa Butter with Coco Oil shower gels

Don't exactly know what's been happening with me, because I never accumulate that much shower gels at once. They were either love at first smell or a good deal, so I had to get it. No wonder all smells are very much summer inspired. Coconut is my favorite scent, cocoa is also amazing and the Alverde sea inspired gel is also very sweet and natural.

Yves Rocher Malaysian Coconut Eau de Toilette (100 ml) and mini shower gel

Many beauty bloggers have been going on about this scent and how I need to get it and I just never really had a chance. But once I smelled it in the store I was hooked. If you're coconut lover like me, you need this in your life. It smells so good, I want to eat it. I will say the scent is not very long lasting, which is a shame.

I haven't tried the shower gel yet. I got it because of the scent and I liked the mini bottle.

Alverde Sensitiv Cleansing Emulsion

I've been using the wash gel from their Clear line for a really long time. But then my skin got really dry a few weeks ago and I'm still trying to figure out what made it dry. I stopped using that wash gel, because it felt too drying and found this one in the store. I really like it. It's very gentle, cream like and pretty greasy. But I love it. It feels really nice on the skin and I use it as the second cleanse and it works nicely. Doesn't dry the skin out at all.

Avon Clearskin Blackhead Clearing Daily Cleanser

This one was on offer and I couldn't resist. I've only used it a few times. It's like a blue gel and it has little specks in it, which act as a physical peeling on the skin. It smells refreshing and the instant effect after cleansing removes most of blackheads. The effect is not long, because obviously pores get clogged really quickly.

Avon Clearskin Clear Emergency Insant Spot Treatment with 2% Salicylic Acid

Apparently this is a new addition to Avon's Clearskin range and I had to try it. I haven't tried it yet, but I used it on my boyfriends pimples and it worked. It really stings because of the acid (it stings on open pimples), but it dries up pimples really quickly. I'll report on it, when I use it more.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant

This was a repurchase. This cream is the only product that helps to tame and slowly rebuild my super cracked dry lips, which I've been battling now for a week. I seem to have problems with dry lips all year around. I wanted to get the unscented version, but it's a bit too expensive, so I just went with this one, although I really don't like the smell that much.

Stargazer White Foundation

I've tried white foundation from Makeup Revolution and the consistency is so runny that it just doesn't make the foundation noticeably lighter. So I decided to invest in this one, because fellow blogger Sara has been liking it. We chatted about it a little and she told me to use primer underneath it and really thoroughly clean my skin afterwards. The problem is that this foundation seems a bit chalky, very thick and kind of drying on the skin. It does make foundation lighter, but I also think I'm to blame this foundation for having problems with really dry skin. I'm still investigating what triggered it, but it might be this product.

Sleek i-Divine Ultra Matts V2

Slovenian online store is closing and I couldn't resist a good deal on their Sleek palettes. Now I'm kind of sad I didn't buy more. I already have their Brights V1 palette, which has very bright matte colors and it's great. Now I also wanted darker matte shades, because it's a really good quality for a matte eyeshadow. This will be the perfect palette for fall.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara in Black

Few fellow bloggers recommended this one and I decided to try it, because it was also on offer. Is it just me or did the drugstore mascaras got expensive?! Seriously. I love L'Oreal, but 15€ for a drugstore mascara, that I'll be using for two months tops?! I don't know. It seems a bit exaggerated to me. Well, I like this one. It has an interesting wand that nicely separates and also adds volume to the lashes. It's one of the better ones from drugstore, for sure.

Catrice Beautifying Lip Smoother in 010 Sweet Caramel

I have the Apricot shade and when I saw this one on sale, it fell into my shopping cart. It's a very natural nude shade. The texture is what I really like. It feels like a soft blanket for your lips. Not sticky, but very buttery.

Avon Super Extend Liquid Eye Liner in Black

I think I'm a bit bored with my L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim and I ventured into the unknown liquid liner waters. I decided to give this Avon's a go and so far it's good. It has shorter and thicker nib than L'Oreal, but it distributes color more evenly. I'm not sure it's gonna be my favorite, but so far it's descent.

Tweezerman Mini Slant Tweezer in Lavender

Tweezerman tweezers have been on my wish list for ever. It's the price that has been off-putting. Obviously I decided on mini tweezers, because they are cheaper. Lavender spoke to me and it was a done deal. I've only tried them once and they're not bad. But you have to really hold tweezers in the way of hair growth, otherwise you may break the hair. They are sharpened nicely and precise, but don't help to pull out the really short and small hairs.

L'Oreal Color Infallible eyeshadow in 024 Bronze Goddess

Such a pretty golden olive eyeshadow. It's really long lasting, almost cream like and the shade is just perfect pinch of green. I've been really liking it. It was also on sale, so it was kind of worth it, but it's still expensive for only one shade.

Avon Ideal Flawless Eye Primer in Light Beige

I don't think I've mentioned this a lot, but this is the only eyeshadow primer I use. It's creamy and it's almost my skin shade. It dries to a matte finish and it doesn't dry out quickly in the pot. I find that it prolongs the wear of my eye makeup and the price is not bad at all. Avon has it on sale a lot.

Avon was also very generous to me again. They send me two of new Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quads and few shades of their khol eye liners. The shades are so pretty and remind me of the sea. I've been playing with them a lot and I really like it.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Precious Shells

Gorgeous shimmery nude shades, mixed with duo-chrome green brown and matte dark green silver. The shades are just so unique and go together beautifully. There's one shade in here that I'm obsessed with. It's the third shade and it reminds me of peacock. It has that duo-chrome sheen to it. It looks like a medium brown, but it reflects off green blue sheen. It's so damn pretty.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Underwater Paradise

This one is more colorful and perfect for hot summer days. It has a mix of greens and blues, which are shimmery and matte. I wasn't sure about the color combination, but damn it works. To me it looks like sea in a pot. You have your sea water and sea grass all in one. I especially like the bold matte sea blue shade.

Avon Khol Liners

They also send me seven shades of their khol liners. The liners are pretty soft (as khols tend to be), but still hard enough so you can draw a precise line. They also have the rubber thingy on one side, with which you can smudge them and make the liner look really smoky and sultry.

The shades I got: Turquoise Waters (sparkling turquoise blue), Ocean Blue (matte deep blue), Cobalt Blue (matte greyish blue - very dark almost black), Sea Green (sparkly sea grass green - almost black), Deep Violet (matte dark purple), Bronze Sheen (sparkly bronze brown) and True Black (matte black).

Born Pretty Store Lipsticks

Born Pretty Store also send me some of their lipstick for swatching purposes. I got eleven of very bright and bold shades. The lipsticks are creamy and a bit shiny. They're very long lasting for such texture. The only thing that is not impressing is the packaging. It looks and feels cheap. Unfortunately for them and luckily for us, I have two of each, which means - giveaway. So if you like bold pinks, oranges and reds, stay tuned for that post.

Herbio All-around 24hr Cream Kalei and tester of sunscreen SPF 20

I also got a chance to try another natural brand called Herbio. I've chosen their Cream Kalei, which has plankton extract in it. Skincare that contains any kind of sea ingredients just works for me. I've mentioned before that I had skin allergy and sea was my treatment. It healed my wounds from scratching and made my whole skin appear so much healthier when I was in my worst state. That's why I love products that contain anything from the sea. This cream couldn't have come in a better time. It's runny white and it's very greasy. I've been experiencing dry skin and this completely solved it. It might be too much for those with combination and oily skin, but for me it worked. Just very good cream. Non irritating, almost no smell and amazing moisturizing ability. The review will come.

They also send me tester of their Aloe Vera Sunscreen of SPF 20. I haven't tried it yet.

This is a preview of what reviews are to come. I've accumulated quite a few new things and I am enjoying the testing process.

What did you get this summer? Something worth trying?

Review: Alpstories Organic Shampoo Aloe Vera

Hey Beauties!

I've already reviewed Alpstories Hyaluronic Acid Cream and today I'll tell you more about their Organic Shampoo with Aloe Vera. I got this as a surprise, since the Alpstories sent it to me with the other two products that I chose. I didn't expect much, but it positively surprised me.

It's an organic daily-use shampoo, which should gently cleanse and nourish your hair. It's enriched with organic aloe vera, wheat germ oil and extracts of olives, rosemary and moringa seeds to repair, strengthen, regenerate and soften the hair.

99,8% of ingredients are of natural origin, 100% of vegetable ingredients come from organic farming and 11% of total ingredients are from controlled organic farming.

The products also doesn't contain parabens, SLS and SLES, phthalates, mineral oils, silicons and alcohol. It's cruelty free and vegan.

It costs 12.80€ and it contains 200 ml of product (buy here).

It comes in a plastic bottle with transparent plastic lid with gold ring. Simplistic and chic packaging. I will say the screw top is not my favorite, since I have to search for it when I want to close it back. I also like the simple design.

It has just big enough opening and you can really control the amount.

It has transparent liquid consistency. It's more liquid than thick. For a natural shampoo it leathers really nicely. It also feels nicely nourishing. It doesn't feel as smooth as silicon based shampoos, but it also doesn't leave your hair squeaky clean. If I shampoo my hair two times it's enough to get them clean. They're soft and clean with just enough moisture.

I have to say this is a really good natural shampoo. It doesn't leave my hair greasy nor too dry and it does it's job of cleaning my hair. If you're looking for a natural option, I think this is one of the better ones. They also have conditioner, if you're looking to go all natural.

Reviews of other Alpstories products:

Ocenila sem že Alpstories Hyaluronic Acid Cream in danes vam bom povedala kaj več o njihovem Organskem šamponu z aloe vero. Nisem pričakovala veliko, ampak me je pozitivno presenetil.

Obogaten je z aloe vero organske pridelave, oljem pšeničnih kalčkov in izvlečki olive, rožmarina, sivke in moringe obnavlja, regenerira, vrača moč in povrne mehkobo las.

Stane 12.80€ in vsebuje 200 ml izdelka (kupite tukaj).

Ima plastično embalažo v obliki stekleničke s prozornim plastičnih pokrovom z zlato obrobo. Preprosta in šik embalaža.

Review: Farmasi Eyebrow Styling Powder

Hey Beauties!

Here is the last product review of the products that I got from Farmasi. It's their Eyebrow Styling Powder. I actually really like it. Ever since I got the eyebrow palette from Born Pretty Store (here), I've been back into brow powders. They are softer, so I like to use them with bolder eye makeup looks.

It comes in one shade and it costs 8.90€, but Farmasi members can get it for 7.50€. It doesn't say how much product is in it. You can buy it here.

It comes with three shades. From very light brown to darker greyish brown. It comes in a black plastic packaging. It has a nice closing and it's small and compact, which I like.

It also has double sided applicator. On one side you have the usual eyeshadow sponge applicator and on the other side is small straight cut brush. I don't think this is useful at all. I'm not sure what should I be doing with the applicator sponge?! The brush is too long and too thick to fit in between the brows. Pointless, really.

The first shade is very light warm toned brown. It's super light, so it might be used for mixing with other shades or for people with really fair hairs.

The second shade is a middle brown with slight warm undertone. I think it might be too dark for really fair brows, but then again you can mix it with the first shade. This is my shade. It does look a bit warm on my brows, but I don't mind that with my warm hair color. It actually looks nice with it.

The third shade is also a medium to dark brown, with the difference that is grey toned. This is too dark for fair brows, but too light for really dark brows. So it's that medium cool toned brown for medium dark brows. Sometimes I mix some of that shade in the end of my brows, to make them a bit darker, where I have sparse spots.

The powder is a really good quality. It almost feels a bit creamy to the touch, which means they don't leave any fall off. It also has really good pigmentation and all the shades are completely matte. I find that it stays put through the whole day and I don't experience any obvious fading of the color. The shades also look pretty natural if you apply them and then brush through the brows with the spooly.

Here you can see my natural brow on the left side and on the right side I used the second shade and mixed in a bit of the third shade. As you can see my brows look a lot warmer with the powder. But as I said I kind of like that. My natural brows are pretty grey based.

It's definitely a very good product. I find the texture to be just perfect and it stick nicely to the brows. It makes the brows still look natural and the shade options are good. I will say it's maybe more suited for fair or medium brows and not so much for those with dark brows. I also like the three shade options, since I like to change my brow color according to my hair color. Definitely a product worth trying, if you're looking for something like that.

You can read more about Farmasi here. I also reviewed some other Farmasi products: Shine Rush 2 in 1, Eye Brow Pencil and Kajal Secret Eyeliner Pen.

Izgledajo bolj naravno in zelo pašejo k temnim in močnim očesnim makeupom.

Paleta vsebuje tri odtenke. Od zelo svetlo rjave do temnejše sivo rjave.

Review: Avon Magic Effects Diamond Shatter

Hey Beauties!

I can't believe I didn't show this beauty to you before. I got it among other Magic Effects nail polishes, that Avon sent me. It's the perfect shiny effect top coat for summer. I don't know why, but to me it looks like mermaids shed all over my nails. :)

It comes in their classic nail polish bottle with black top. The brush is regular and it does it's job well. It's transparent and it looks like it has multi-colored foil parts in it. The parts are different sizes and I understand the name Diamond Shatter, because it looks like something has been shattered. It actually reminds me of shells and mermaid tail.

With one swipe of the brush you get a really good amount of those shatter parts. I was surprised, because it often happens that you can't get good amount of the effects on your nails. But this one is perfect. You really only need one dip and it covers entire nail.

The regular price is 5.90€, but it's often on sale. You'll get 10 ml of nail polish.

It works best over dark nail polishes. The color of the foil parts actually looks different based on what base color you use. As you can see on white it looks yellow, pink and violet. The best effect is still over black nail polish. It looks green, yellow and blue. Btw, this will look amazing on the pool. I tried it, trust me.

Here you can see how beautiful it looks over basic black nail polish. It makes it look so much better and interesting.

Gorgeous effect, covers well and looks so pretty in the summer. I'm certain I'll use this one when I go on the holidays, because it just looks so pretty on the sun and in the water.

Dobite 10 ml laka.

Najbolje izpade preko temnih lakov. Takrat delci izgledajo rumeni, zeleni in modri. Mimogrede, to bo izgledala fantastično v bazenu.

Review: Alpstories Cold Pressed 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil

Hey Beauties!

Today's review is of the last product that I got from natural brand Alpstories. It's their Cold Pressed 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil

The oil is rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acids and proteins. It also helps to fight lines, repairs imperfections, minimizes scars and stretch marks and also restores texture, elasticity and tone of your skin.

Argan oil is also one of the best oils for hair. It can act as a moisturizer for the scalp to fight dandruff and dry scalp. It can also promote the growth of hair and undo some of the damage done through chemical treatments and hair coloring. It can also be used to treat split ends

So it's a really versatile oil that can be used on any part of your body.

It comes in a heavy glass bottle. It has plastic top and gold pump. The plastic top already cracked, so it's not the best packaging for carrying around. As I mentioned in their cream review, I love their simplistic design.

It costs 17.90€ and you get 50 ml of it. You can buy it here.

The gold pump looks so chic and it works perfectly. You can control the amount of product that's coming out.

Oil is very runny and semi thick. It's transparent and it has a very slight natural smell to it. But the smell is barely noticeable.

It's very greasy, but surprisingly it soaks into the skin really quickly. I guess that depends on what kind of skin you have. Mine has been really dry these days. It leaves behind shiny finish.

This is such a multi purpose oil, that you really can't go wrong with it. I really like to use it on my face in the night time. It also works really well with nigh time creams, as it just gives you a bit more moisture and nourishment. I find that it soaks in well and I can go to sleep without leaving oils stains all over my bedding. I find that my skin is a lot more elastic the other day and it feels really nourished and smooth.

I also used it on my body. Especially on any dry parts and stretch marks. It feels nourishing and I love the greasy feeling on my skin, because I feel like it gives me another protective layer. By the morning their is no grease left and the skin is just soft and moisturized.

For my hair this is a bit too thick. I have fine colored hair and this oils is a bit too heavy for them. I did use it as a pre-wash treatment, like coconut oil. I think this could be good for thick strong hair. I love some of the products for hair with argan oil, because I find it to be the best hair oil for damaged dry hair. However, this pure form of it, is too heavy for my hair type.

Extremely versatile oil. Everyone will find a use for it. It can be used on any parts of your body and it really does have great properties. It's the purest best from of argan oil that you can get and I think this can be a great gift for anyone with dry skin and hair. Alpstories also has huge selection of other oils for any skin problems and the prices are amazing for such natural products. I recommend you check their store, because you might just find your new staple product.

Other reviews from Alpstories:

Današnja ocena je zadnja ocena izdelka, ki so mi ga poslala iz podjetja Alpstories. Gre za njihovo 100% organsko hladno stiskano arganovo olje.

Olje je bogato z vitaminom E, osnovnimi maščobnimi kislinam in beljakovinami. Olje pomaga v boju proti gubam, odpravlja kožne nepravilnosti, minimizira brazgotine in strije, hkrati pa koži vrača teksturo, elastičnost in enakomeren ten.

Spodbuja hitrejšo rast las in odpravi poškodbe lasišča in las zaradi kemične obdelave in pogostega barvanja.

Stane 17.90€ in vsebuje 50 ml izdelka. Kupite ga lahko tukaj

Zlat dozirnik izgleda zelo šik in deluje odlično.

Review: Born Pretty Store Expert Color MMX Rhombus Shape Smooth Lasting Lipstick + giveaway

Hey Beauties!

I mentioned before that Born Pretty Store sent me a set of their lipsticks for swatching purposes. The shades are so pretty, very colorful and perfect for summer time. I'll show you each shade and how it looks and feels. Stay tuned for the end of this post, because I have a giveaway for you.

The lipsticks come in a very basic plastic packaging. I wouldn't say it's the most sturdy or original. It actually look and feels very cheap to me. The typography somehow reminds me of Coca Cola. Does it do that to you too? The longer part with the name on it is actually top of the lipstick. Outside is colored in the color of the actual shade, which is very useful.

It costs 3.45$ and you can buy it here.

They actually sent me all the shades, expect one (102).

The texture of these differs a bit from shade to shade. Most of the shades are very creamy and have shine to it. Pigmentation also depends from shade to shade. Most of them have a good pigmentation, while darker shades have better or very good pigmentation. Some of the darker shades are also more matte, then others and don't have that shine to it, just a sheen of shine. The formula will absolutely cling to any dry patches

In general I find the formula perfect for summer, as it is lightweight and doesn't dry out the lips at all. Because they are creamy, they are not very long lasting, but I find that they last really well for such moisturizing creamy formula. Darker shades leave some stain.

They have no apparent smell to them. If you really sniff the bullet you'll notice sort of clay or modelling clay smell. Not super artificial nor anything pleasantly scented.

It's definitely one of those products that has really good formula, but you have to neglect the cheap packaging. I always say the point is in the product itself, not the packaging, but then again most of expensive brands actually make more money because of the expensive looking packaging.

The shape of the lipstick is in the shape of rhombus. It's nice that the lipstick has a more precise strait cut edge, if you want to apply it straight from the bullet, but other than that I didn't find the shape to be anything special. I guess, I would almost like it to be the regular shape better than this rhombus.

Shade 101

Violet cool toned fuchsia shade. It's very pigmented and it looks shiny on the lips. It's actually my favorite shade, because it's so unique.

Shade 103

Warm toned magenta pink. It's very pigmented and it looks shiny on the lips.

Shade 104

Cool toned fuchsia pink. It has good pigmentation and it looks shiny on the lips.

Shade 105

Warm toned coral pink. It's actually more pink, than orange, but I would almost classify it as a light coral. It has good pigmentation and it looks shiny on the lips. This one can look a bit patchy, if you apply too much of it.

Shade 106

Light warm pink. One of those very classic light pink shades. It has good pigmentation and it looks shiny on the lips.

Shade 107

Bright orange. It's crazy how bright this is. It almost looks neon, when I wear it. It's very pigmented and it looks very shiny on the lips. Maybe it's due to the fact that it's darker, but it almost looks the most shiny of them all. It seems to be like a liquid lipstick.

Shade 108

True peach. Also one of my favorite shades, because of the orange tone and warmness. It's very pigmented and it looks shiny on the lips. This one can also look a bit patchy, if you apply too much.

Shade 109

Orange based red. Very lovely warm bright red shade. This one also almost looks neon. Super bright. It's very pigmented and it looks less shiny than others. This one and the shade 112 are the most pigmented and therefore the least shiny. It almost just has a sheen of shine to it.

Shade 110

Warm peach toned pink. It's a warm light pink shade with a touch of peach undertone. It's very pigmented and it looks shiny on the lips. It can also look a bit patchy (if too much is applied at once).

Shade 111

Warm pink. This one is more pink toned then 110, but it's also warm toned. It has good pigmentation and it looks shiny on the lips.

Shade 112

Cool toned red. It's a classic blue toned red, that pretty much suits everyone. It's very pigmented and it looks less shiny than others. This one and the shade 109 are the most pigmented and therefore the least shiny. It almost just has a sheen of shine to it.

Some of the shades look very similar, so let me break it down for those who are interested. 105 is more pink and more cool toned than 110, which is more coral toned and warm toned.

Shade 105 is also a bit lighter compared to 111, which is a bit darker. Those two are indeed very similar. 111 has a bit brighter pink tone to it.

I think the formula is great for two reasons. The lipsticks are mostly very pigmented and they don't dry out the lips. Indeed a very pleasant formula to wear. The thing that I'm not so impressed by is the rhombus shape, the packaging and the fact that it clings to dry patches. I don't think the shape is any more useful and the packaging is just very cheap. Saying that, you should consider the formula first, if you're looking for those kind of gloss almost liquid lipsticks.

If you decided to invest into some products from Born Pretty Store, you can use my code PETRAH10 and you'll get 10% discount.

Review: Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara

Hey Beauties!

I usually have hard time shopping for new mascara, so I just go with the ones that I know are good. When did the mascaras get so expensive? I don't want to waste that amount of money and then end up not even liking it. L'Oreal has always been my favorite drugstore mascara brand, but they became really expensive. So I asked my fellow beauty bloggers which mascara do they recommend and some said Maybelline Lash Sensational. Since Maybelline had discount at that time, I bought it.

It comes in a pastel purple pink packaging with black writing. I find this to be the usual shape of Maybelline mascaras. It contains 9.5 grams and costs around 11€ ( it was on sale for 8.24€).

Mascara has a silicon wand, which I just love. I hate those mascaras with bushy natural bristles.

On one side you have very short bristles, which resemble one of those lash combs. On the other side you have longer bristles and they are smaller towards the ends. The bristle size also alternates from the shortest (the comb), to going around to the longest. I'm not sure how exactly are you suppose to use this, but I usually use either the short (comb) size or the longer curved part.

The shorter the bristles, the more definition you get and I feel like it does a good job of separating and a bit of elongating the lashes. You can see the photo on the left side.

On the right side is the photo with the longer curved bristles. This one definitely gives you volume, it makes your lashes thicker and bolder. That being said it can clump them a little.

I find that you get the best result if you alternate between the two ends of the brush. First I always use the short comb side, then I go in with the longer curved side and if I stick my lashes together, I go back with the comb side and separate them.

All in all I find the effect pretty good. I have enough volume and the lashes don't stick together. It actually looks like I have more lashes. It doesn't really do much in the length department, but then again it's a volumizing mascara.

The formula is more on the thick side rather then on the runny side. It's also a bit wet. The brush has way too much product on, so it's best if you wipe some of it off, at least in the beginning. I was also surprised that it holds my curl really well. It does droop a little in the middle of application, if I put too much on, but it is still very much curled up. Also be careful when applying too much, because it may fall off during the day and leave you with those little black dots under your eyes.

I feel like waterproof version of this mascara should be the bomb. I'm not saying this one isn't. but the waterproof version must hold the curl amazingly and it probably doesn't have any fall off either.

I am definitely satisfied with this mascara. It's now become one of my favorite drugstore mascaras. It probably the in the second place L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes. Definitely worth a try, if you're looking for something with volume and definition.

Let me know what is your favorite drugstore mascara and why? I might research some more mascaras :).

Review: Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad (Underwater Paradise, Precious Shells)

Hey Beauties!

Avon team has been making me happy this year. They again sent me few of their new products. One of which were these new Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quads palettes. I have two of their palettes already Mocha Latte and Purple Haze. I like them both and the eyeshadow are really good quality, so I was super excited to see the new shade ranges.

Palettes come in a shiny black plastic packaging. It's good quality and I like the push system for opening it up. It's definitely secure

The two new shade ranges come in this cute water color paper box design. It reminds me of summer. The regular price of the palette is 10.60€, but they are often on sale. Right now they cost 7€ in Slovenia. Sometimes you can even get them half price. You get 5 grams of product.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad - Underwater Paradise

When I saw these colors, I was like wow and then, do these really go together?! And yes they do. This is definitely summer inspired palette, because it contains shades of blue and green. I understand the name Underwater Paradise. The green shades remind me of sea grass and the blues remind me of the ocean. I have to state that shimmery shades are always a bit sheerer, but can be build up for more intensive color, while matte shades are extremely pigmented. No fall out what so ever. It's actually funny that the matte shades are so nicely pigmented. I want to start a petition for Avon to release some sort of all matte eyeshadow palettes. I know I would totally buy it.

Shade 1: matte mint blue. This is really pigmented for such a light shade. It looks more light blue, but it actually seems very minty in a way.
Shade 2: shimmery olive green. Olive green has that gold base as does this one. It actually looks also a bit brown. It's such a unique shade and one of my favorite from this palette. This one is more sheer, but can be build up.
Shade 3: shimmery moss green. It's one of those forest dark green shades. This one is also a bit more sheer, but can be build up.
Shade 4: matte navy blue. This is gorgeous true dark blue shade. It's extremely pigmented for a matte eyeshadow. It's my favorite from this palette, along with the shade 2.

When all the shades combined it looks like an ocean. I put the shade 1 in the crease and above. Then I took shade 2 and applied it in the inner corner of the eye. Shade 3 I applied all over the mobile lid and I added shade 4 in the outer corner of the eye. I did the same on the lower lash line. Shades really suit together. This is just one way of mixing them, but you can do so many different variations. I even like to wear these shades on it's own. The 4 shade could be an amazing liner if you mix it with some pigment solution.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad - Precious Shells

This is a more night time or muted palette. It's not so in your face as the previous ones. Again, I understand the name of it. Especially the two first shades do remind me of the shells, but for some reason the other two shades remind me of peacock feather. Don't ask me why. The same as with the previous palette, shimmery shade are sheerer but can be build it for more intense color and the one matte shade is extremely pigmented with just one swatch. I feel like those shades are versatile, because they can look more cool toned on cool skin tone and they look warm toned on warmer skin tone.

Shade 1: shimmery flesh tone nude. This one looks like a flesh tone nude in the pot, but actually goes on like a sparkly white shade. It's a bit more sheer, but can be build up.
Shade 2: shimmery light beige. It's one of those that looks like it has dirty brown undertone beige kind of shade. It's also sheer, but can as well be build up.
Shade 3: shimmery silver brown with green duo chrome finish. This is my absolute favorite shade. It look so damn pretty, because it looks like it's warm brown. In the pot it has an obvious grey undertone and on the eyes it gives off green sheen. It's one of those chameleon shades, that changes depending on which angle you look at it. Unfortunately the duo chrome sheen couldn't be picked up by my camera. This one is also more on the sheer side, but can be build up.
Shade 4: matte dark petroleum. This one is again very pigmented and it's a mix of grey, green and blue. Unique shade that looks amazing combined with other shades.

When you combine the shades, you get that sexy grey toned look. You know me, I always go for warm shades, but surprisingly I've been really liking this combination. I never like taupe or grey based products, but those shades have a feel of cooler tone, but still look very warm on me.

I applied shade 1 above the crease. Shade 2 I applied in the inner corner and extended it towards the center. Then I added shade 3 all over the mobile lid and I put shade 4 in the outer corner to darken it up.

If I say that I'm obsessed with the shade 3, it would be an understatement. I've seriously try to combined it with every look I've worn. The duo chrome just look so damn pretty and I love the unique blend of silver and brown. As you can see it looks pretty warm brown on me, but I hope you can also see the green sheen on the center of the lids. It looks prettier in person.

Two very different palettes. One on the bright and vibrant side and the other more muted darker sexy combination. What I love the most about Avon eyeshadow quads is the fact that eyeshadows are a good quality. Shimmery shades are sheerer, while matte shades are extremely pigmented for a matte eyeshadow.  I love the fact that they combine shades that really go together. They have those neutral typical shades, but these two palettes are more on the exciting vibrant part, but still feel very classy  and wearable when all the shades combined. The palette is small an compact, great for traveling and the price is just amazing (just wait for them to have discount, you won't be sorry). If you haven't tried any of their palettes yet, I strongly recommend you pick some up, if you're on the market for eyeshadows.

Avon ekipa me je letos že večkrat razveselila. Spet so mi poslali nekaj novih izdelkov. Eni izmed teh sta novi paleti Avon Tru Color Eyeshadow Quad. Imam dve njihovi paleti in sicer Mocha Latte in Purple Haze.

Spominja me na poletje. Redna cena palet je 10.60€, ampak pogosto so znižane. Trenutno stanejo 7€. Dobite 5 gramov izdelka.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad - Underwater Paradise

In ja, grejo. To je zagotovo poletno inspirirana paleta, ker vsebuje odtenke modre in zelene. Razumem zakoj so jo poimenovali Underwater Paradise (podvodni paradiž). Zeleni odtenki me spominjajo na morsko travo in modri me spominjajo na ocean.

Olivno zelena z zlato podlago. Izgleda skoraj kot rjava. Zelo unikaten odtenek in en meni najljubših.
Odtenek 4: mat temno modra.

Avon True Color Eyeshadow Quad - Precious Shells

Še posebej prva dva odtenka me spominjata na školjke, ampak druga odtenka me nekako spominjata na pavje pero.

Odtenek 4: mat temno petrolejska. Zelo pigmentiran odtenek, mešanica sive, zelene in modre. Unikaten odtenek, ki izgleda čudovito v kombinaciji z drugimi odtenki.

Ko združim odtenke, dobim tak seksi sivkast izgled. Poznate me, meni so vedno bolj všeč topli odtenki, ampak tale kombinacija mi je res všeč. Čeprav vsi odtenki dajejo sivkast hladen vtis, na meni izgledajo še vedno precej toplo.

Odtenek 1 sem nanesla nad gubo. Odtenek 2 sem nanesla v notranji kotiček očesa in raztegnila ven proti sredini veke.

Review: L'Oreal Color Infallible Ultra Concentrated Colour Eyeshadow 24h Hold (024 Bronze Goddess)

Hey Beauties!

I know these L'Oreal eyeshadows have been popular a really long time ago. I never really bought any, until I saw these half price off a few weeks ago. Color Bronze Goddess appealed to me, because it seemed such a unique summer shade.

Eyeshadow comes in a plastic small packaging. On one side is a square and you can see the shade through it. The top is round.

When you open it up there's a black top, which protects the eye shadow from moving or spilling all over the packaging.

The eyeshadow seems to be pressed. It's very tightly packed in the packaging and it does not crumble at all, but it's also not a cream. It does have that wet texture to it and it's extremely pigmented

The shade 024 Bronze Goddess is such an interesting mix of shades. I would describe it as a golden olive shade. It seems to be a mix of gold and olive green, but than it also looks a bit brown on my swatches. I love green based eyeshadows, but I want them to be warm and golden and that one is just that. Really unique. It seems shimmery, but it actually gives off more of a metallic sheen

It is very long lasting and the shade doesn't fade thorough the day at all.

It costs 8.46€ for 3.5 grams, but like I said I bought it on sale for 4.23€. I'll say I don't usually buy single eyeshadows that are that expensive, but the quality really is amazing.

Compact packaging, great for travelling, amazing pigmentation and very long lasting color. I think I said it all. The only thing I don't like is the price. But if you have a chance to get it on sale, go for it. They have more shades available for every taste.

Review: Avon Khol Eye Liners

Hey Beauties!

I've already reviewed new Avon True Color Quad palettes, that Avon sent me. Today I'll review their khol eye liners. It's going to be a colorful review.

Avon has total of 7 khol eye liner shades. I was fortunate enough to get them all. They have Deep Violet, Cobalt Blue, True Black and Bronze Sheen. In a previous campaign they added three new shades and those were Ocean Blue, Turquoise Waters and Sea Green. I think those shades are summer inspired and very much correspond their two new True Color Quads.

The regular price of each khol liner is 6.50€. They contain 1.08 grams of product. It doesn't say much about the ingredients, just that it contains shea butter for a smoother application.

It's a regular pencil form and it has colorful pencil on one side and rubber on the other side. The rubber is great for smudging, which khol pencils are perfect for.

If you apply the liner softly, you'll get a soft semi-opaque application as you can see on the left side. In the middle is how it looks like, if you apply it heavily and that gives you really opaque look. And on the right side you can see how good these liner are for smudging. The rubber side makes it easier to smudge and you can make some really smoky looks with it.

Turquoise Waters

In contrary to what it looks like on the photo in the catalog, this is actually more of a blue greenish shade than green blue-ish shade. It's a shimmery shade with blue shimmers. It looks sort of metallic

Ocean Blue

This is gorgeous royal blue shade. It's completely matte. It's really bright and one of my favorite colorful shades.

Cobalt Blue

As the name suggests, it's a dark grey based blue. This one is also matte.

Deep Violet

This one is dark purple warm based shade and it's shimmery. It also has that metallic finish.

Sea Green

Very dark silver based green. It could almost pass as a grey, but the green sheen is obvious. It's also shimmery with metallic finish. I guess it does look like sea grass in a way.

Bronze Sheen

One of those classic bronze brown shades. It's also shimmery and it has metallic finish.

True Black

As it says it's a true black shade and it's matte

The texture of these liners is in fact buttery as it claims. It's not as buttery and soft as Avon Super Shock pencils, but it is soft. One swipe can be a bit patchy. If you reapply it, it can sometimes result in uneven finish. The pigment tends to grab on itself and it creates darker and lighter patches. This happens more with shimmery shades than with matte. It all depends on how hard you press and how many times you go over it. It's definitely not the most even application, but you can make it really pigmented and you can really smudge it out to make it more even (of course you'll also loose a bit of pigmentation).

As you can see I mostly used them as my regular liquid liners, but they are great for smoky eyes and smudging on the lower lash line. I also love the fact that you can use rubber end and smudge it in a way to create the perfect end to your wing. It's really easy and I find the application with these pencils easier in general. It makes it easier to create the wing, because you can build it up slowly and the line is a bit more forgiving.

They are very long lasting. I was surprised, because they stayed on my lid the whole day and did not move. The only problem with these is if you have hooded eyes, they may transfer on your upper lid. That can be easily fixed with loose powder over it. Thanks to Nadja from Memento Mori, who mentioned this trick. I used it and it works perfectly.

And here are some of my makeup looks that I created using those khols. I lightly applied Sea Green with golden green eyeshadow. I like how dark colored pencils give you definition, but also make it look a bit softer and smoky-er.

Cobalt Blue is another darker version of color and it really brings out dark brown eyes.

Deep Violet is one of my favorites. I went for the green eyeshadow with purple liner. I also used Bronze Sheen and smudged it on the bottom lash line.

True Black is a classic and goes with everything. Khol can look less harsh than a liquid liner, if that's what you're aiming for.

And my favorite combination is this with Turquoise Waters and Ocean Blue. It looks so bright and makes my eyes pop. I also liked it with a coral lip combination.

If you're liking soft pencils and you like to smudge the hell out of it, then this is perfect for you. They are long lasting and have all the shades for different eye colors. They do have a problem with uneven application, if you try to build them up too much, but if you smudge them, the problem is fixed. If you prefer liquid liners with perfect crisp line, then this is definitely not for you.

I really like Ocean Blue, Deep Violet, Sea Green and Bronze Sheen. What are your favorite shades?

Ocenila sem že Avon True Color Quad palete, ki mi jih je poslal Avon. Danes sledi ocena njihovih khol linerjev. To bo barvita ocena.

Avon ima 7 odtenkov khol linerjeve. Jaz sem bila priviligirana in dobila kar vse. V redni ponudbi imajo Deep Violet, Cobalt Blue, True Black in Bronze Sheen. V prejšnji kampanji so dodali še tri nove odtenke in ti so Ocean Blue, Turquoise Waters in Sea Green. Novi odtenki se mi zdijo zelo poletni in odlična kombinacija novim True Color Quad paletam.

Redna cena svinčnikov je 6.50€. Vsak vsebuje 1.08 gramov izdelka.

Izgleda skoraj kovinsko.

Ocean Blue

Čudovita kraljevsko modra. Je popolnoma mat. Zelo živ odtenek in en mojih najljubših odtenkov.

Cobalt Blue

Temna modra s sivim podtonom. Tudi ta odtenek je mat.

Deep Violet

Gre za temno vijoličen odtenek s toplim podotnom in šimrom. Tudi ta izgleda kovinsko.

Sea Green

Zelo temno zelena s sivim podtonom.

Svinčniki so zelo dolgo obstojni. Presenetilo me je, da so na meni ostali kar ves dan. Nedotakljivi.

Narahlo sem nanesla Sea Green v kombinaciji z zlato zeleno senčko. Všeč mi je kako temno barvni svinčniki dajejo očesu definicijo, vendar ta izgleda mehkejša in bolj zadimljeno.

Cobalt Blue je še ena temna verzija barve in odlično poudari temno rjave oči.

Deep Violet je ena moji ljubših. Zeleno senčko sem kombinirala z vijoličnim svinčnikom. Na spodnji veki sem uporabila tudi Bronze Sheen in ga zabrisala.

True Black je klasika in paše k vsemu. Khol lahko izgleda manj grobo, če si želite mehkejši videz.

In moja najljubša kombinacija sta Turquoise Waters in Ocean Blue. Izgleda tako živahno in lepo poživi oči. Všeč so mi z koralnimi ustnicami.

Meni so najbolj všeč Ocean Blue, Deep Violet, Sea Green in Bronze Sheen. Kateri pa je vam najljubši odtenek?

Review: L'Oreal Elnett Heat Protect Styling Spray (Smooth)

Hey Beauties!

I've been using Got 2 Be Guardian Angel Heat Protect. It seemed to have worked fine, but it always left my hair crunchy and crispy like a hair spray and I didn't like it. Then I tried this version from L'Oreal and I fell in love.

L'Oreal has two Elnett Heat Protect Styling Sprays. One is for volume and one is for straight hair. I used the Smooth version, for silk straight effect. It's basically a heat protect, which should protect your hair from heat damage of flat iron, curling wands and even blow drying. It should protect your hair up to 230°C. You should use heat protect products if you want to prevent damage to your hair like split ends and over dried hair. This one protects from hair damage and also moisturizes your hair. It should make your hair smooth for up to 3 days. L'Oreal experts also use it as a product to tame the frizz and lock in the flyaways.

Now on to my experience. First of all the packaging is a standard plastic bottle with a very nice black pump on top. I love how easy and spot on this pump is. It produces a really nice thin mist. There's also a little push square. If you press it to one side, you lock the bottle and if your press it to the other side you unlock the bottle, so you don't have to worry about product spilling all over your bag.

The ingredients list.

It's an off-white liquid. I like to spray it on my hands and than put it trough my hair, but you can obviously spray it directly to the hair. Just a warning... this spray is extremely slippery! I don't recommend spraying this all over your bathroom, because you might break someone's leg. It really is that slippery when it lands on the floor.

I wanted to demonstrate how it looks like on the hair, although it's pretty obvious. On my top photo are my freshly washed hair. As you can see my ends dry really quickly, because they are naturally a lot drier then the rest of the hair.

On the bottom photo is how my hair looks like when I apply the heat protect. Right after the application my hair feels a bit more moisturized and smooth. The spray seems to coats them with something slippery, which makes my hair very smooth as it promises.

Then I just use a blow drier and dry my hair and here is the result. I don't usually have problem with frizz or flyaways, so I can't comment on that. It definitely feels moisturizing and makes my hair a bit nourished and very smooth to the touch. I wouldn't say it will make your hair absolutely straight. I have naturally straight hair, but they sometimes tend to form some waves, especially when I pull my hair back behind my ear. So I wouldn't agree on having your hair straight and silk for three days. Maybe if you blow dry it with a brush, the effect could last a bit longer.

The spray has a very distinct strong smell. I can't describe it. It smells like a hair salon (cliche I know, but that's how I feel about it).

The smell was the first thing that reminded me of another amazing heat protect product and it's the heat protect from GHD (Good Hair Day). I swear, as soon as I smelled it in the store I knew it reminded me of some other product. I feel like I need to mention that GHD one was the best heat protect I ever used and I feel like this one is a very similar product. I wish I had the old bottle of GHD, because the texture is the same, I swear the smell is too.. I really think these two could be dupes.

All in all, this is probably the best drugstore heat protect spray. I know I'm apparently very late to the party, but I'm just glad that I arrived. If you're looking for something moisturizing and effective to prevent you from damage and over-dryness while using your heat tools, then go for this one. If you're looking for something to make your hair straight, I wouldn't go for this one. I would say try some other products that are meant for hair straightening.

Review: Herbio Cream Kalei

Hey Beauties!

Herbio a Slovenian company that produces natural modern herb inspired cosmetics, offered me to try one of their product. In the process of choosing the product I decided on their Cream Kalei with no hesitation. Why? Because since I started using skin care products, the ones that were based on any kid of sea ingredients, always worked for my skin. This one is not an exception.

Cream Kalei is an all-around 24 hours cream for sensitive, dry and irritated skin. It contains chlorella vulgaris, sea fennel, plankton extract and vitamin E. The cream should hydrate and make the skin more elastic. It also has some anti-aging ingredients to slow down the aging process. The cream doesn't contain any parabens or mineral oils.

It comes in a white plastic bottle with a pump. Extremely hygienic and useful packaging. It's also light enough to travel with. It contains 50 ml of product and costs 29.95€

The ingredients list.

The pump has a descent hole and you can actually control the amount you want to come out. I really like that, because sometimes I use more and sometimes I use less.

The cream is white and more on the runny side of consistency. Once you start spreading it on your skin, it's still white, but when you massage it in it leaves behind a very shiny finish. Depending on how dry your skin is, this may look either greasy or get soaked in. The texture feels very moisturizing, like a very hydrating and greasy layer is over your skin.

My skin has been on the dry side this year, so I use this even now in the summer. In the morning I put a thin layer, not to make me greasy through the day and in the evening I put on a thicker layer. It really does hydrate the skin. It doesn't irritate at all. I actually feel like it soothes my skin. Sometimes it even makes my skin very smooth, especially when I use it overnight.

So, I think this could be perfect for anyone with any kind of irritations, sensitivity or maybe even imperfections. It is very hydrating, keep that in mind. I would say this isn't a good choice for oily skin. Depending on how dry your skin is, this might be good for you in the winter or for all seasons.

It has a very natural and subtle smell. It's somewhat neutral.

To me this is a very good hydrating natural cream. I think this will be amazing in the winter. It's good for the summer, if you have dry patches, but on really hot days, it might be too much. If you're looking for something soothing and hydrating, this is it.

Herbio has a lot of ranges for many other skin types and specific problems. It also caters to men. Cream Kalei is from their Vision range, which focuses on different individual care. They also have Skin Care Woman, Body Care, Skin Care Man, Young Image, Young Body, Bath, Feet and Grandma's Secrets. Something for every need. I've already checked their products and some are already on my wish list. I am intrigued by their AHA Fruit Peeling Mask, Sensitive Herbal Cleansing Gel and Regenerating Vitamin Night Cream. If you have a chance, definitely check them out here

For all international readers, I'm not sure if they deliver to foreign countries, so it's best if you contact them about that.

Vsebuje aktivni izvleček klorela alge, morski koprc, izvleček planktona in vitamin E. Krema naj bi kožo navlažila in izboljšala njeno elastičnost. Vsebuje tudi sestavine, ki upočasnijo proces staranja. Ne vsebuje parabenov in mineralnih olj.

Embalaža je plastična z pumpico. Zelo higienična in praktična embalaža. Vsebuje 50 ml kreme in stane 29.95€. Kupite jo lahko tukaj.

Seznam sestavin.

Review: Melvita Bourbon Geranium Floral Water

$

Hey Beauties!

Melvita introduce me to the world of floral waters. They have a high range of floral waters to suit every need. Recently they added a new floral water to their range and I already tested it out for a few weeks.

Bourbon Geranium Floral Water is certified organic floral water. It's obtained through a steam distillation of fresh Pelargonium Graveolens Bourbon, which comes from rare culture in France. It is naturally rich in active ingredients and has delicate fragrance of Bourbon Geranium, which is similar to rose with spicy undertones. This floral water helps to refine pores and smooth skin texture. It refreshed, hydrates and tones the skin.

It comes in a dark blue plastic bottle. The bottle is made out of 100% recycled and recyclable plastic material. I believe it's dark for a reason, to preserve the ingredients of the floral water. It contains 200 ml of product and costs 15.30€. You can buy it here or in any Melvita store.

The ingredients list.

The spray pump works fine. It produces a very fine mist. You can't really control the amount that it comes out, but the mist is so fine that you can't overdue it. I usually spray about 3 to 4 pumps for my entire face and neck. When you spray it on it leaves drops of water on your face. It looks like you've been sweating, but it disappears into the skin.

The water is really refreshing, especially now in the summer days. I admit, I sometimes spritz it all over my face just for the sake of refreshment. It actually does hydrate the skin a little. Especially if you don't like to put much on your skin, since it can get really oily in the summer, this will act as some sort of a toning hydrating product. That being said, I like to use it instead of a toner, because if I'm being honest I don't really use the usual toners. This is great, especially because you can just spritz it and you're done. I also use it as a setting spray. I spray it all over my face, after I've done my makeup and it helps to make your make not look as powdery and more like it has settled into the skin.

This water makes my skin feel a bit smoother. It's not like you've made yourself a physical or chemical peeling, but the surface does seem smoother to the touch. I can't really say if my pores are looking any smaller or blurred, because I would probably need to use this for a longer period of time. It may make the appearance of them a bit less visible, but the difference is minimal. I have problems with enlarged pores, especially in the summer, so this might work better on someone with smaller pores in general.

The smell of it is very well, floral. To me it smells like if you've smelled a flower with a bit of spiciness mixed with it. I wouldn't say I'm crazy about the smell, because I usually avoid any kind of floral scents, but for some reason it doesn't bother me as much. I would say that the scent fades away really quickly, which is a plus for me.

I also need to address the fact that I find this floral water to be fine for slightly sensitive skin. I have in general sensitive skin and it didn't produce any irritations. I will say on days when my skin is really irritated, you might want to avoid it, because it may give you some red patches. I think this is due to the floral scent, which can aggravate sensitive skin a little.

I've never really tried any of the floral waters before, but I seem to really like the refreshing feeling of it and the non fuss application that can replace your usual toner (if you use it). This is perfect for summer and for anyone that loves quick products for slight hydration with the benefits of an over all more beautiful skin with the use of longer period.

Melvita mi je predstavila svet cvetnih vodic. Imajo velik nabor cvetnih vodic za vsakršno potrebo. Pred kratkim so k svoji liniji cvetnih vodic dodali novo in jaz sem jo že preizkušala približno dva tedna.

Vsebuje 200 ml izdelka in stane 15.30€.

Nikoli prej nisem preizkusila nobene cvetne vodice.

Review: Catrice Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer (010 Porcellain and 020 Light Beige)

Hey Beauties!

One of the products from Catrice's new fall line that I was most looking forward to trying out, it's their Liquid Camouflage High Coverage Concealer. I really like their cream camouflage version, because it's really pigmented and great for covering up redness and blemishes. So I really wanted to try the liquid version and I even bought both shades.

It comes in a clear plastic packaging with black top. The packaging seems sturdy, but I wouldn't necessarily throw it around the room.

It has a doe foot applicator, which is very convenient and soft

It costs 3.79€ and you get 5 ml of it.

Catrice says that this is liquid, high coverage and ultra-longlasting concealer. It should perfectly camouflage under-eye circles, spots and even tattoos. It's also waterproof

First let's check out the shades. Catrice currently has two shades of this concealer. It's 010 Porcellain and 020 Light Beige.

In the tube they both seem pretty light and I was hopeful. 010 Porcellain is more greyish and pink toned. 020 Light Beige is more yellow orange warm toned. They both seem very neutral in the tube, but I have a feeling they might turn out different depending on your skin tone.

If your fair, go for 010, because it's pretty light and I don't say this lightly. It would probably suit me perfectly in the winter, while now it's almost a bit too light. But keep in mind I use darker foundations now and I have some tan on. That being said, I like to have a slightly lighter concealer for my under eyes.

If you're a bit darker with warmer undertone then 020 is for you. This is actually good for me now, but I have a feeling it will be too dark in the winter.

They are very thick in consistency and very creamy, but dry really quickly to a completely matte finish. It completely dries in about 5 to 10 minutes, depending on how thick layer your have.

For some reason they oxidized on my skin like crazy, when I was swatching them. On my face I don't seem to have this problem. Maybe because I use thinner layers and slowly blend it in. If I apply thick coat and I retouch it while it's still sticky, it becomes lighter again. But when it dries it turns darker. Fortunately this is only on my hand. I still think it's better to work in thin layers and wait for it to dry in between as it says on the packaging.

As you can see on the photo below the undertones get more emphasized and both look a lot darker once they oxidize.

It has a sweet fruity scent, which I don't mind, but don't see why it needs to have a smell at all.

I decided to compare the shades to the Catrice Camouflage Cream concealers in 010 Ivory and 020 Light Beige. Cream version in 010 Ivory is the lightest among them all. I would say it's pretty neutral, but may have a bit more warm undertone. Liquid version in 010 Porcellain seems very cool pink toned. It's also darker.

Cream version in 020 Light Beige is again warm yellow toned and it's definitely darker. It is however still lighter then liquid version in 020 Light Beige, which oxidizes to a really deep orange toned shade.

Liquid versions dry really quickly to a complete matte finish. Cream versions tend to stay sticky and still dewy even after a while, but are in fact a lot more pigmented. This is normal for cream versus liquid version. Cream versions also oxidize, but not as much as liquids. Again, the effect on the face doesn't seem to oxidize at all. This was really complicated to swatch.

I also compared the shades to some of the other liquid concealers, just to give you some idea as to where the shades are.

In this batch, Velvet Finish in 030 Velvet Beige is actually the lightest and the most neutral to pink toned. Liquid camouflage in 010 Porcellain is next in line, but it's a little bit more pink toned (which is more visible in person). Liquid camouflage in 020 Light Beige is on the warmer and a bit darker side then 010, but Revlon Colorstay in 02 Light is the yellowest of them all.

After I took a photo of these I decided to add MAC Pro Longwear in NC15, just for the sake of comparison. Velvet finish is still the lighters. MAC is next in line, also light but with a warm tone. Liquid in 010 is a bit darker then MAC.

Concealer is in fact really pigmented and it does cover quit well. I wouldn't say that it covers really blue under eye circles, it just covers slightly darker under eye area. The coverage also depends on how much you build it up. I usually do one layer under my eyes and then go in with another thin layer, where I have more darkness.

On the top left photo is me with nothing on, on the right top photo is how much I apply of it. On the left bottom photo is one thin coat of it and on the right bottom photo is two coats.

I didn't notice any creasing going on, excluding the eye area, because everything creases under my eyes. On my face it didn't settle into the lines, except after a really long day. I think the quick drying time and matte finish helps it to stay put and not settle into any fine lines.

Now let's see if it covers tattoos. Fortunately I have a tattoo model (my boyfriend) so I actually tried to cover his tattoo and well, it's somewhere in the middle with this one. You have to put three heavy layers in order to fairly conceal the tattoo, but it's not perfectly covered and you look like you've been bathing in concealer. So, sorry Catrice, I don't think I can agree with you on this one.

I tried some other concealers and I'll be damned, MAC Studio Finish and Catrice Camouflage Cream work almost the same. They both seem to have the most coverage to almost entirely conceal up tattoo. Catrice Liquid cream actually fails it completely. Bare in mind that I used one layer of each, but the cream version is a lot more pigmented and thicker.

One big happy yes goes to the fact that it is waterproof. For sure! I actually went swimming a few days ago and by that I mean I was sinking my head and trying to get it as wet as possible and it hold up really well. If you rub it, it will come off after a while, but other than that it pretty much stays perfect. As you can see on the right photo the water just slides off it. On the left photo I even rubbed it a bit and nothing. Five points for you Catrice! Definitely longlasting.

I can see this as a must have product for summer. Maybe now we can get camouflage foundation? Just sayin'!

All in all this is a really good product for the right price. I can see myself repurchasing it, if Catrice doesn't decide to discontinue it! (Yes please!) It actually has a pretty descent coverage for a liquid concealer. It has a quick drying time, which means it won't move a lot and the matte finish is right up my alley. The fact that it's waterproof makes it that more appealing, because it also means it's very longlasting. Just don't buy it to cover your tattoos and you're good to go. Good job Catrice! Definitely try it, because it's worth the price.

Copper gold shimmery summer makeup with orange lips

Hey Beauties!

I won't try to represent this as anything other than what it is. You know me, I love coppers and gold and this is yet another such shimmery makeup for summer. I paired it with my favorite redish orange lipstick.

I started by building up my crease. I used a very light brown matte, then added some of the bronzer broen, then some peachy brown, some contour brown and some dark matte brown. I basically built up the crease to have some depth with matte brown shades. Then I added shimmery copper shade on the inner and outer part of the eye. I left the center of the lid clear, where I later put some yellow gold and some very light gold at the center. Basically a technique of sandwiching the eyeshadow. Oh and I also added some of the cranberry matte shade in the very outer corner of the eye.

I repeated it all around the lower lash line. Then I used black pencil, instead of my usual liquid liner, since I wanted the whole look to be softer.  I added mascara.

Recently I got some new false lashes, so I wanted to try them out. They're actually the ones that start shorter in the inner part of the eye and become longer and thicker at the outer edge of the eye. Those would be amazing for winged out looks.

Here you can see one option with a neutral beige liquid lipstick.

I also slightly contoured my cheeks and nose. I used matte warm toned bronzer all over the outer edges of the face. I also used gold toned highlighter on my cheeks, down the nose and cupids bow. For a blush I opted for something very neutral slightly peach toned and matte.

My favorite option is to pair this look with some fiery redish toned orange matte lipstick. I know, it's so typical of me, but what can I say, I like it.

And that is how the look came together. Again one of my neutral looks, since I just can't seem to get enough of gold and coppery eyeshadows.
