Here is the second part of my New In posts. I mostly feature products that I got for my birthday and even some that I ordered back in December. There are no products from PR brands and I give you a little short review of everything I have tried so far.

Afrodita Cosmetics LE Vanilla Passion Gift Set

I've actually been eyeing this in the store and my cousin knew that and got it for me. It's a limited edition gift set with a limited edition packaging that I adore. The design is just so clean and classy looking. I'm already using both. Shower gel is that typical transparent gel that cleans and leathers well. I also love nourishing body milk, because it looks like a lighter cream, but once you massage it into the skin, it leaves behind nourishing almost buttery feel to it. However it sinks in and looks like there's nothing on the skin. It has a soft vanilla scent that isn't too sweet or overpowering. It's actually fairly soothing.

Palmolive Coconut Joy Body Butter

I already used this one up and it was such a good shower gel. Palmolive gels in general have this nourishing feel to them and this one is like a pudding consistency, but it doesn't feel as drying as normal shower gels. The butter in it really makes it less drying and more comfortable on the skin. Scent is unfortunately not a proper coconut, but a more artificial version of it, although I still liked it very much. I would definitely buy this again.

White Tea Bath Salt

How cute is this? I'm a sucker for product like that. Taking long baths would be in my description of hobbies and I usually do it with bubble baths, but never with bath salts. Until now. I already tried it out once and liked it. It doesn't add any effect to your water other than a slight sleepy refreshing soothing scent. Plus it's so satisfying to use that tiny spoon to scoop it out. Adorable gift for anyone that likes to pamper.

This is a repurchase. I've almost finishes my first pot of this beauty - only have a bit of the outer edge left to finish. It's my favorite bronzer, because it feels so buttery due to the murumuru butter. Shade Bronzer is also a bit cool toned which makes it great for adding definition and it's light enough for a light skin tone. But it's also not too cool, still has that proper sunkissed warmth to it. I adore it. You can read my review of it here

Colourpop Yes, Please! Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

This is warm toned lovers dream. It has a mix of matte and shimmery shades with light to dark colors. There is a lot of neutral tones that you can wear on everyday basis, but than you also have really potent pops of colors. The quality is amazing, super pigmented and I'll have a review up very soon.

Colourpop She Pressed Powder Shadow Palette

This was apparently a limited edition palette or so it seems, since I've been looking for it and it's discontinued. A damn shame, because this is so good. I almost like it more than Yes, Please! and I love warm tones. This is for those that love pinks an mauves. Again a great selection of shimmery and matte shades. You can create a subtle look or a more punchier filled with lots of color. Quality is also amazing. I was confused by the fact that they don't sell it anymore, but I'm still thinking of posting the review, because I love the looks I created with it. Anyway, I've seen it being sold on Ebay too.

Colourpop Super Shock Shadows - Game Face, Birthday Girl and DGAF

I already posted a review of these here. It's one of my favorite eyeshadow formula, because it's almost like a cream, applies lovely and sets like a powder.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip - Aquarius and Screenshots

I only tried one Ultra Satin Lip before and it was Frick N' Frack. I liked the formula and didn't find it too drying, so I decided that I'll order some more, when I'll be ordering eyeshadows from Colourpop. It helped that they had sale on their lip products. Aquarius is the most perfect nude. It has a mix of pink, brown and even some warm peach to it. It will suits many different skin tones and it also looks amazing on light skin. Screenshots is that perfect brick brown shade that is also fairly light, but a warmer version for when you want something more subtle. I'll have a separate review of these on the blog.

Afrodita Cosmetics Jojoba Oil & Shea Butter Body Milk

I'm not using it yet, but I did try it out once. It's a thicker white cream that gives your skin glow and leaves a slightly greasy finish on the skin. It's much thicker and heavier than the LE version. The scent is somewhat oriental, but actually very subtle.

Astrid surprised me with a huge package of makeup and sweets for Christmas and my birthday. She is just the sweetest and may I add, has an amazing taste for makeup. Thank you so much Astrid.

Urban Decay The Ultimate Pair - 1993

I only tried eyeshadow primer by Urban Decay, but I've always wanted to try more from this brand. I hear Urban Decay is also coming to Slovenia now, for those that are interested in this brand too. This is a set of their 24/7 glide-on lip pencil and vice lipstick, both in shade 1993 which is a medium brown. It's that perfect chocolate brown color that isn't too dark. Lip pencil has a smooth creamy formul as well as lipstick. They both feel comfortable on the lips. Lipstick has what they call comfort matte finish and it's definitely comfortable. I'll have a separate review on the blog.

Feelunique Bourjois Christmas Cracker

These products came in a cute mint colored Feelunique Christmas cracker. My first cracker ever and may I say a cracker after my own heart. In it was Volume Reveal Waterproof Mascara which I haven't tried yet. I've had some mascaras by Bourjois before and they were all very descent. In it was also Khol & Contour Extra-Long Wear Eye Pencil in 002 Ultra Black which I also haven't tried yet, but it seems to be fairly creamy. I've also already had some Rouge Edition Velvets before and now I've added a new shade to the range - 11 So Hap'pink. These are a bit drying on my lips, so I usually reserve them for good lip days. This one is that perfect vibrant, but still muted pink.

I have however already tried their Blush in 33 Golden Lilac. First of all this has such a lovely scent. It smells sort of fruity and powdery at the same time. It has baked texture that actually deposits a lot of color. Shade is a mix of brick peach and pink color with golden shimmer. I adore it and it's so cute packaged.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick - 02 Flaming'rose

I absolutely adore the formula of these (read about it here) and already own two shades, so I was ecstatic to get another shade. It's that perfect tone of pink that I like (because I usually don't go for pinks often), muted, brown based and very wearable. It has the most perfect matte finish, smooth formula and doesn't feel drying on the lips.

Kiko Arctic Holiday Lips & Nails Kit - 02 Breathtaking Red

I haven't actually tried any of these yet, but they look gorgeous. Nail polish has that perfect classic red shade with slightly wider brush. In the set is also liquid lipstick that dries down to a perfect matte finish and it has the most gorgeous cool pink red shade ever. This looks like such a stunner, so I can't wait to try it out. I've had problems with dry lips, so I've been avoiding matte formulas for a while.

Body & Soul Wellness Orchid and Brazilian Nut Set

In the set is a squeeze tube shower gel and body lotion with a pump. It has an oriental floral scent to it which seems lovely. I haven't tried them out yet.

Essence Contouring Eyeshadow Set - 02 Brownies With Frosting

This seems like that perfect easy eye look for when you're in a hurry. One side has a shimmery beige shade with slight pink sheen to ti and on the other side is a cool grey based brown. I was thinking of using this side as a face contour, but it might be too dark for me.

Essence Eyeliner Pen Extra Longlasting

It's that typical pen eyeliner that is very liquid and looks like a marker. I haven't tried it on my eyes yet, but on the hand it seems fairly saturated, but not super pigmented.

Body & Soul Silicon Sponge

I've been avoiding these silicon sponges, because I don't think this will work. It seems to just push the product on each side of the face, but I haven't tried it yet. I definitely will, just to see what it feels like.

Essence Good Girl Nail Sticker

I love the look of these nail sticker, I just wish I would remember to use them. There is still some of them left in my drawer and I keep on forgetting about them. These have cute flowers, butterflies and hearts on them with little silver rhinestones. Super cute.

Bonjour Glass Jar

I am also a sucker for any cute kitchen wear or home decor and I think this is adorable. A little small for my preference of glasses to drink out of, but still cute. I see myself using this in the summer and posting Instagram pictures with it.

Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter - Liquid Champagne

I had this on my wishlist and my friend Sabina so kindly got it for me. I've tried it only once and it didn't seem to blend out well, so there was a definite line where I applied it. I can't really say, if that is my fault or the texture. But it's a liquid highlighter with a more greasy base. It has metallic champagne sheen and lots of multi-colored shimmer particles. I would only use this as a highlighter and not mix it with foundation, because it's too glittery for that. The shade is actually just as I expected it to be.

Laceup Shoe Accesories

I wasn't even aware of this satin shoe lace hype that is apparently popular, but I love these. They have that wrapping paper look to them and would probably make a gorgeous bow on those crisp white sneakers. Pale taupe shade makes it look ultra classy and I can't wait to put them on my spring/summer sneakers. I'm just afraid of getting them dirty, because they look so cute.

Fairy Lights

Who can say no to fairly lights? I have two sets already and don't mind getting another one. I just need to find the right place where to put them. These work on two AA batteries and look so romantic on any surface.

DM Profissimo Cookie Stamp Set

Sabina also knows I love to bake and I actually have two of these cookie stamps already, but not with those cute Christmas designs. Plus there is even a cookie cutter in the pack, so it makes it easier to cut out the perfect shape for the stamp. I love these, because they add some fun to otherwise boring round cookies. I also got a spatula, which will definitely come in handy.

Review: Avon Mark Epic Lip Lipsticks (All Shades)

$

Avon is starting this year with a new launch of lipsticks. I've mentioned several times that I love their lipstick formulas. Their new range is called Avon Mark Epic Lip Lipsticks and they are all about the intense color payoff as well as longevity.

Packaging

Lipsticks are part of their Mark range which is supposed to be a bolder version for younger women. They already have Avon Mark Plump It Lipsticks which have similar packaging, but reverted. Their Epic Lips have black top with white writing and a white bottom. Packaging is plastic, but well made and it closes nice

In each is 3.6 grams of product and the regular price is 8.50€. Currently they're on offer for 4.50€ (Slovenia).

Each lipstick also has mark sign embossed in the bullet. Names of the shades are on the bottom of the packaging.

Colors

Avon is known for their color range which is similar in all of their lipstick finishes - a few nude, a lot of pinks, reds and some other shades. But I'm glad to see that they've finally added a bit crazier and more out there colors. Mark is bold and young range and as such should represent the boldness of younger generation. That being said, there is still a lot of typical nudes, pinks and reds. But a few shades are unique in their range.

Swatches

Nude Attitude - pale warm orange based nude (good pigmentation, chalky)
Wink of Pink - pale warm salmon pink (good pigmentation, chalky)
Rosy Outlook - light warm brown pink (great pigmentation)
Street Style - light cool grey brown (good pigmentation)
Blushing Beauty - light cool purple pink (great pigmentation)
Extreme Mauve - medium cool purple pink (great pigmentation)
Pink Punch - medium warm bright pink (good pigmentation, stains)
Be Loud - medium cool fuchsia pink (great pigmentation, stains)

Red Extreme - medium warm orange toned red (great pigmentation)
Berry Bold - medium cool classic red (great pigmentation)
Heart Breaker - dark cool red (good pigmentation, but uneven)
Luv U - medium cool bright magenta with purple sheen (sheerer, stains)
Sangria Shock - dark warm berry purple (good pigmentation, slightly sheerer)
Sweet Taffy - light cool grey based lavender (great pigmentation)
Spellbound - medium cool violet (sheerer, uneven, stains)
Temptress - dark warm eggplant purple (sheerer, uneven)
Blue Suede - dark cool navy blue (good pigmentation, stains)

My absolute favorite shade out of all is Rosy Outlook. It's the most perfect pinky nude that goes with almost everything. Formula is also a dream to apply. For some reason I really like Street Style. It's unique, cool toned, but I love the grunge nude feel to it and I actually think it suits me. Blushing Beauty and Extreme Mauve are again my favorite for when I'm feeling pink, although Blushing Beauty is more purple toned. Out of the reds I prefer Red Extreme, which is warm toned and therefor my favorite red pick. I also love Berry Bold for a slight pink toned to the red. I also adore Sangria Shock, which is just that perfect berry shade. Blue Suede is also in my favorites, because it's just such a crazy color. I don't know if I have the guts to wear it out, but it has surprisingly good formula for such a dark color.

In the range I'm really missing some peach shades. I love their Cantaloupe from Plump It range and it's such a shame they don't have anything like that here. I would also love to see some browns being added to the range. They can be used as nudes for darker skin tones and as statements for lighter skin tones. This range mostly caters to all the pink and red lovers, which is fine too, but I think nudes are still the shades that sell the most.

Formula

Avon describes Epic Lip formula as the most intense color lipsticks that offers two times more pigment than traditional Avon lipsticks. They also promise incredible long lasting power, because of the built-in primer and smooth feel on the lips, which should also soften, smooth and moisturize lips.

It's a creamy formula that has really nice glide to it. It glides on the lips smoothly, but doesn't feel greasy or slide around. It's like what Avon claims, like a primer is build in the formula for a smooth glide over the lips. Formula is very similar to their Avon Mark Plump It lipsticks. Epic Lips feel just slightly lighter on the lips and have maybe just a bit more sheen to it. That's why Plump It lipsticks feel more sticky and don't stay as in place on the lips as Epic Lips. But if you like Plump It lipsticks (which are one of my favorites), you'll definitely like these too.

Lipsticks have good pigmentationwith just one swipe. You can apply one swipe all over the lips and get full opacity. Formula in general applies evenly. Problem is with darker shades which for some reason seem sheerer and can look very uneven. But then again, most brands have problems with darker shades not being as even or pigmented. Also, pink and red shades will stain your lips and are in general harder to remove completely.

Finish is cremewith a slight sheen to it. I'd say, similar to most regular creamy lipsticks.

I have to say dark shades scare me, because I prefer matte formula when choosing a dark shade. It's always risky smudging it or wearing it off. This kind of formula works better with lighter shades.

Performance

Avon has yet again created a very comfortable formula. It feels almost soothing on the lips. I never get tight or dry feeling, when I wear these and I have generally very dry lips. I would almost agree with their moisturizing claim. It's the perfect basic creamy formulafor everyone and especially for someone with drier lips. It also doesn't seem to emphasize dry patches any more than other lipsticks.

Because it's a creamy formula, it's not super long lasting, but it still lasts on me for about 3 hours. Lighter nude shades wear off nicely. With darker shades you can see them disappearing from the inner rim of the lips, as per usual. I'd say it's actually surprisingly long lasting for a creamy formula. Some others don't even last that well.

They also have that typical Avon fruity sweet scent to them.

Now let's get onto the swatches on my approximately NC15 skin tone.

Dupes

As always I also tried to find dupes and similar shades in my collection or for a reference point, if anyone is interested in.

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Nude Attitude
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte - Perfectly Nude - more peach toned, warmer
Colourpop Lippie Stix - Toy - more brown toned and slightly darker

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Wink of Pink
MAC - Patisserie - more of a mix of colors, more brown based and darker

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Rosy Outlook
Avon True Supreme Nourishing - Nurturing Nude - more brown toned and warmer
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Stockholm - warmer and more brown toned, also darker
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor - Forever - darker and more of a brown than pink

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Blushing Beauty
Avon Mark Plump It - Mad For Mauve - cooler and more lavender without that pink tone to it

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Extreme Mauve
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte - Ravishing Rose - a lot more vibrant, more pink and warmer
Avon Mark Liquid Lip Lacquer Matte - Flushed - more similar in tone, but again too vibrant in color

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Pink Punch
Avon Mark Plump It - Pink Pop - the same tone of pink, but less vibrant, more muted
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte - Vibrant Melon - warmer pink, but also vibrant, different tone

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Red Extreme
Avon True Colour Perfect Reds - Lava Love - more pink toned and slightly lighter

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Berry Bold
Avon True Colour Perfect Reds - Berry Berry Nice - similar in tone, slightly lighter and more muted pink
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte - Red Supreme - similar, but more redish

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Heart Breaker
Avon True Colour Perfect Reds - Cherry Jubilee - slightly darker and just tad more purple toned

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Luv U
Avon True Supreme Nourishing - Supple Magenta - has the same blue sheen, but the base is more muted purple

Avon Mark Epic Lip - Sangria Shock
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte - Berry Blast - more brown based purple and slightly darker

Set of Avon Mark Cosmetic Bags

I also received a set of two Avon Mark cosmetic bags. They are made out of polyester and are really soft, almost foam like. Black is bigger and can definitely hold all of my daily makeup. White is smaller, perfect to throw in your bag and put some daily essentials in it. It also black inside, so you can get it dirty. The zipper works fine.

These bags are also on offer for sale in Avon for 18.90€.

Avon did it again. Another great basic creamy formula, with good color payoff, extremely comfortable wear and fairly long lasting formula. I have nothing bad to say about it, except the fact that most darker shades and really pale shades look uneven and as such, are not really appropriate for the creme finish. I would also love Avon to expand this color range - add more neutrals (brown, peaches) and maybe even some crazier colors.

If you like creamy lipsticks that feel soothing and comforting on the lips as well as give you color with just one swipe, you'll love these. Keep in mind they're not a matte formula and therefor won't stay on your lips for several hours, but if you're looking for color and comfort, go for it.

Odtenki

Nude Attitude - svetlo topel nevtralen odtenek z oranžnim podtonom (dobro pigmentiran, vendar rahlo kredast)
Wink of Pink - svetlo topel losos roza odtenek (dobro pigmentiran, prav tako kredast)
Rosy Outlook - svetlo topel rjavo roza odtenek (odlično pigmentiran)
Street Style - svetlo hladen sivkasto rjav odtenek (dobro pigmentiran)
Blushing Beauty - svetlo hladen vijolično roza odtenek (odlično pigmentiran)
Extreme Mauve - srednje hladen vijolično roza odtenek (odlično pigmentiran)
Pink Punch - srednje topel živ roza odtenek (dobro pigmentiran, pusti madež)
Be Loud - srednje hladen fuksija roza odtenek (odlično pigmentiran, pusti madež)
Red Extreme - srednje topel rdeč odtenke z oranžnim podtonom (odlično pgimentiran)
Berry Bold - srednje hladen klasično rdeč odtenek (odlično pigmentiran)
Heart Breaker - temno hladen rdeč odtenek (dobro pigmentiran, ampak neenakomeren)
Luv U - srednje hladen živ magenta odtenke z vijoličnim sijajem (dobro pigmentiran, bolj prosojen, pusti madež)
Sangria Shock - temno topel jagodičasto vijoličen odtenek (dobro pigmentiran, bolj prosojen)
Sweet Taffy - svetel hladen sivkasto vijoličen odtenek s sivim podtonom (odlično pigmentiran)
Spellbound - srednje hladen vijoličen odtenek (prosojen, neenakomeren, pusti madež)
Temptress - temno topel jajčevec vijoličen odtenek (prosojen, neenakomeren, pusti madež)
Blue Suede - temno hladen mornarsko moder odtenek (dobro pigmentiran)

Formula

Temni odtenki me strašijo v kremni izvedbi. Nikoli ne veš kdaj se bodo razmazali ali zabrisali iz ustnic. Kremna formula deluje boljše s svetlimi odtenki.

Občutek in obstojnost

January 2018 Favorites

My first monthly favorites of 2018 are all about new products that I'm loving. I've included one that I've already mentioned in my previous favorites, but most products are new to my blog.

Vichy Purete Thermale 3 in 1 One Step Cleanser Sensitive Skin

I've been loving this in the past month, because my skin has been a bit drier than usual. Actually, I should say more dehydrated than generally dry. This is a thinner white, almost gel like, milk consistency that spreads with ease and has an emollient layer to it. Scent is fresh and almost soothing. As you're washing it off, you can feel a greasy layer staying on your skin and forming skin barrier. That's why I like it so much, because it leaves a nourishing layer on your skin and you're skin doesn't feel tight. I think this will work with dry, dehydrated and combo skin. Oily skin would definitely hate it. The claim of 3 in 1 is weird to me. I guess it does tone in a way, because you don't have to use something right after it for your skin to feel comfortable again, but I mostly just use it as a first cleanse in the morning or second cleanse in the evening. It's also sensitive enough that it doesn't feel irritating on my skin at all.

I've already included it in my favorites and I have a full review of it here, but I just had to include it again. Ever since I got it, I can't put it down. It's the best fuller coverage drugstore concealer I have tried so far. Shade 010 Light is also neutral enough that it suits cool and warm skin tones. It doesn't look too drying or too matte, so you can use it under the eyes as well and it stays put. An absolute bargain and a winner.

Catrice Camouflage Cream Anti-Shadow

I have a pink version of this that I've been using for correcting my under eye area and it worked well - review here. So I decided to pick up the other two shades too - yellow and green - since Catrice has decided to discontinue. Why? It's actually one of the better correctors in the drugstore. I really don't get their mind set. Always discontinuing products that customers get use to. Anyway. I realized that the yellow one works even better for my under eye and my very dark inner corner on the lid. I actually feel like my shadows look more purple than blue, so yellow cancels it out better. It also matches my yellow undertone better. I really like this and if you want good correctors, I recommend you grab these while they're still on their stand.

Beyu Beauty Queen Volume Mascara

I'm preparing a separate review of this mascara. I've been a bit on the fence about it, when I started using it. I think it might have been that I was so in awe by the L'Oreal Paradise version, but as I used it more and it got drier, it grew on me. It's actually one of my favorites for creating volume and thicker lashes, but without making them look clumpy. It also holds my curl well which is another plus. I'm so glad I listened to my fellow bloggers who raved about it and got it.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek - Flexitarian

Award for the most reflective highlighter ever goes to Flexitarian by Colourpop. I've had my fair share of highlighters, because that is probably one of my favorite makeup items ever and I have to say nothing has been as reflective as this. It makes your skin look like it's glossy. The shimmer in it is so fine, but it reflects the light so bright that you look glazed. It looks more like a light champagne shade in the pot, but once it's on the skin, it's actually very bright and has almost a white sheen to it. This is definitely highlighter for fair to light skin tone. Worth all the money!

Bourjois Blush - 33 Golden Lilac

One of my newly discovered products that has sneak into my favorites. I can't get over the powdery sweet scent that this blush has, it's so lovely. It's a baked formula and looks super shimmery in the pan, but on the skin it doesn't look as shimmery. It seems like the brush picks up more color than actual shimmer, which I prefer. It's the perfect warm golden coral color. Not too peach, but definitely not pink. Just the most perfect blend and it makes me look so fresh.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip - Aquarius

To me this is the perfect nude color for light skin tones. It has a mix of everything - pink, peach and brown. It's not pink, but not brown, just the perfect nude color. Satin formula wears very comfortably on the lips for a lip cream that slowly dries down to a matte finish. It's very long lasting and doesn't feel uncomfortably drying or tightening.

Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick - 02 Flaming'rose

I've already spoke about the genius matte formula of these lipsticks here. These lipsticks have super smooth emollient formula that dries down to the perfect liquid matte lipstick matte. But the big thing about it is, that it feels so comfortable on the lip and not at all drying. They also have a good range of nudes as well as pops of color. 02 Flaming'rose is that perfect muted mauve pink that will look good on so many different skin tones. I adore it and I'm not big on pink colors.

Surprise, surprise, another pink color. Who would have thought?! I'm in a bit of a pink rut right now. This is again one of those pinky nude shades that has muddy brown base to it and therefor looks super natural. Formula is so comfortable, creamy with a bit of sheen and it's so easy to throw on, when you're in a rush. It pairs with most makeup looks and almost feels moisturizing on the lips. Out of all new Avon Mark Epic Lip Lipsticks, this has been the most worn shade of mine now. You can read full review here

Afrodita Vanilla Passion Nourishing Body Milk

This is lightweight body milk texture that once you starts massaging it into the skin, leaves behind a slight body butter white layer which seems to really nourish and protect the skin. It has lovely sweet vanilla scent to it and very practical pump to get it out of the bottle. I love the design of it too. Really nice body milk.

My Birthday

January is my birthday month and usually I'm looking forward to it, but this year I caught some nasty stomach virus one day before my birthday, so I spent half of my birthday at the doctors on an IV. We did have a small get together in the evening (mostly because I prepared some food one day before and it would be a waste to throw it all away), but I didn't have much from it. My stomach was crashed and I couldn't eat my delicious Bounty cake. If you know me, you'll know I love sweets and this was a hard day for my sweet soul. My brother has birthday on the same day as me - 5th January and he had his party one day after our actual birthday. We baked pizzas in bread oven and again I couldn't eat any. This wouldn't sound so bad, if you didn't know that pizza is again one of my all time favorite foods. I sound like all I do is eat - but actually, I try to work it off in the gym too. Well, some of it. So my birthday wasn't what I expected, but I still had a good time. Just spending the day with relatives gives me a boost of energy and it's a rare occasion for all of us to come together. In this fast pasted life, this is definitely needed.

Baby Driver

I've also seen a good movie this month that I had to report back to you. It's rare I like a movie that much. Baby Driver is not your typical action movie. I find Baby character refreshingly cool for the main action movie character. He's a young driver that ends up working for a crime boss. He's the getaway driver. One of their heists goes terribly wrong and ends up being very interesting. I loved the slightly weird action main character as well as snarky remarks from other characters. For me it was almost weird for an action movie, but also very intriguing. If you like action movies, you'll probably love this one. It's not that typical old school action movie.

Review: Colourpop Fem Rosa She Shadow Palette

I've just realized that Colourpop discontinued this palette, what a shame. It was a collaboration between Colourpop and Karrueche Tran called Fem Rosa. Colourpop often times do these sort of collaborations and some of these are limited edition offers, so I don't know, if they'll bring it back. But it's possible. In case they do or you find it on Ebay, you can help to decided, if you need it based on my review.

Packaging

It comes in a mauve colored box. The design of the actual palette is really pretty with red and purple roses. The writing has metallic gold details. Shade names are on the back of the palette.

In it is 12 x 0.85 gram of product (total of 10.20 grams) and the price was 16$ (but I got it cheaper on sale).

Colors

This palette has a mauve pink vibe. In it is total of 12 shades. 8 of them are metallic or satin and 4 of them are matte

Swatches

Ladylike - metallic pale yellow champagne (wet, great pigmentation)
Babe - satin pale pink (drier, descent pigmentation)
Dainty - metallic light mauve pink (wet, great pigmentation)
Chick - metallic light yellow gold with rose gold duo-chrome (drier, good pigmentation)
Mademoiselle - metallic light red toned mauve (wet - almost creamy, amazing pigmentation)
Gal - metallic medium copper base with pink chunky glitter (wet, the sheerest shade)
Empress - metallic medium purple mauve (drier, good pigmentation)
Filly - metallic medium rusty copper orange (drier, good pigmentation)
Dear - matte medium muddy pink (drier, amazing pigmentation)
Missy - matte dark raspberry red (drier, amazing pigmentation)
Damsel - matte dark eggplant violet (drier, good pigmentation)
Duchess - matte medium brick peach (wetter, amazing pigmentation)

My absolute favorite shades are Ladylike (for inner corners), Chick (for all over the lid), Mademoiselle (on the lid), Dear, Missy and Duchess (all for crease work or all over the lid).

Formula

Formula depends from shade to shade. Mostly they have a wet formula and some even feel creamy. Some are slightly on the direr side, but still not dry by no means.

In general I was surprised by the pigmentation of these. They are all on the very pigmented side with some exceptions. Babe and Chick are a bit less pigmented than most shimmery shades. Gal swatches the sheerest out of all of them and you mostly just pick up a lot of glittery chunks. Filly is also one of those slightly less pigmented shades, but still a bit more pigmented than Babe and Chick.

Some shades like Mademoiselle have such a creamy formula that it almost feels like a cream and has amazing pigmentation. The same goes for all matte shades. Matte shades actually feel more dense in pigment than shimmery shades. Damsel is the only shade out of mattes that feels just a bit sheerer and slightly harder to blend.

They feel packed with pigment, especially matte shades which have a lot of kick-up. They are probably the most pigmented matte shades I have ever tried. As long as you tap the brush before you apply eyeshadow on the lid, you shouldn't experience any noticeable fallout. Shimmery shades may have some shimmery fallout, but it all depends on how much you put on the brush. Most of these only need small dip in the pan and you get great payoff.

Performance

Eyeshadows apply in one swipe and they all blend out easily. I don't have problems with transitions either. They don't just all blend together in one shade. Formula is very long lasting. They stay on my lid for the whole day (with eyeshadow primer), they don't crease and don't seem to noticeably fade either.

Now let's go onto some eye looks that I created with these eyeshadows. I'm sorry for different color temperature in photos. I took these on different days under different weather conditions. I don't want to over retouch them, so that you can see how the shadows actually look like on my skin tone.

I am impressed with this eyeshadow palette. I've already bought single Colourpop shadows, so I expected nothing but the best and it definitely is. Pigmentation is insane, especially with matte shades. They all seem to blend really well, have in general a wetter formula and the shade selection is perfect for a mauve toned lover. This is a lovely addition to my eyeshadow collection and I'm so sad, they've discontinued it. I have seen it on Ebay, so if you really like it, I'd say get it there. It's definitely worth the price.

All Creams Natural Makeup

This is a natural makeup look that I tried to create with mostly just cream products. Cream products will look especially nice on slightly drier or older skin. Powders can often times look more unnatural as well as lot more intense, so using creams for a more natural look is obvious. I love a good bold look, but I've also been loving wearing something more natural. Here emphasis is on glowy natural looking skin with a bit of definition and minimal eye as well as minimal lip.

I started by applying my usual skin care routine - toner, serum and a fairly hydrating glowy moisturizer in these colder months. Then I also used primer. If you have oily parts, like I do, use something that will mattify the skin and fill in pores. I used that on my t zone and a bit around my cheeks where my pores are bigger. You can also use illuminating primer, which I used only on the top of my cheeks and above the brows. This will give your base a bit more of that healthy sheen.

Then I applied BB cream all over my face in a light layer. Because my cheeks tend to have more redness and visible capillaries, I went over them with a bit more product. This evens out your skin tone and makes it look fresher, especially, if you use a BB cream that has that healthy sheen to it. BB cream also usually has less coverage and skin care ingredients in it, which makes it look more natural. But you can use a lightweight foundation too.

After that you need to assess the situation. If you see anything that needs to be lighter or covered up, use a bit of concealer. I have deep set eyes and my inner corners can look really dark, so I used color correcting concealer to conceal out that purplish tone in the inner corners of my eyes - upper and lower. On top of that I applied higher coverage concealer, but tried to use it lightly. Don't overdue it, because you'll ruin the natural look to the skin. I also apply a bit of concealer around the tip of the nose, where I have redness, corners of the mouth, chin and in between the brows. These are all my areas that tend to get redness through, but you conceal only what you feel you need to. If you want to look fresher, also conceal right around your lower lash line which is often times more red than the rest of the skin.

Left: only BB cream, Right: BB cream and concealer
I always set concealer with a bit of powder, especially under the eyes which prevents it from creasing. For that I use a tiny amount of transparent powder that just soaks up excess moisture, but doesn't look cakey or gives it any additional color. If you have oily parts, put some powder there too. For me this is around the tip of the nose, a bit on the forehead and on the center of the chin. Those are the areas that I know will get greasy as the day goes on. If you're skin is dry and you don't get greasy through the day, you can skip powder.

After we've evened out the skin tone, we need to put some more definition back to it. If you have naturally defined cheeks and don't need to define any part of the face, you can skip this step. I used creamy grey toned contour shade to contour a bit under my cheek bones. This makes my cheeks stand out more. I also have wide and high forehead, so I also always contour on the sides of the forehead as well as a bit around the hair line. If you want to define your jaw line, use a bit of contour also under the jaw bone. I also have wider nose tip, so I try to fairly add some contour there too. Always have makeup sponge next to you to blend out, if you've overdone it. It should look natural, like a natural shadow. My trick for making the makeup look uniformed is also to apply a bit of that contour across your lid, but concentrating it under the brow, not on the mobile lid. This gives a slight definition to your eyes without using any powder eyeshadow.

BB cream, concealer, powder and cream contour
Next I move to brows. First I brush them through with a transparent gel or mascara like gel. If you have thick brows, that is all you need to do. However, if you have fair and fine brows like I do, you need some additional help. I mixed two colors of creamy eyebrow shades and drew on little hair like strokes where I wanted to fill in my brows. The point is to not make it too perfect and completely filled in. You want to still see the texture of hair, but just give them nice shape. Because I have bold spots, I also use very thin creamy brow pencil to fill those in additionally. After I do that, I also brush through my hairs with another transparent brow mascara. By brushing the brows up they look fuller, messier and in general more youthful. Giving your eyes sharp arch or drawing your brows in a very thin line, makes you look older and sometimes angrier. Bushy brows are popular for a reason, they look youthful.

One of the most important steps at natural makeup is curling your lashes, if you don't already have them naturally curled. It opens up the eyes and makes you look more awake. Eyelash curler is my favorite makeup tool. I used volumizing mascara, because my brows are not super long nor thick, so I need help. I applied two coats on my upper lashes and only one coat on my lower lashes. My lower lashes are fairly long, so I don't apply mascara all over them, because I want upper lashes to be the center of attention. If you want even more natural looking lashes, apply mascara mostly around the roots of your lashes. This will make your roots look darker and fuller, but avoid putting it on the ends of lashes, because it can look more unnatural. If I go for a no eyeshadow look, I prefer a more fuller lash look, but you can skip it, if you have good lashes already.

BB cream, concealer, powder, cream contour, brows and mascara
After that I go back to my skin. One of the easiest ways to look glamorous, fresh and healthy is to apply creamy highlighter. Highlighter brightens up your skin and gives your that youthful glow. I used a mix of champagne (more pink based shade) and mixed it with a slightly cooler whiter champagne, just to make it really pop. You can go as heavy or as light, as you want with the highlighter. I like it heavier, but since I use cream highlighter, the texture looks much more skin like and not too obvious.

I apply highlighter with fingers. Make sure to blend the edges, so it looks as natural as possible. For that you can use clean finger or dampened makeup sponge. I apply highlighter on tops of cheeks - also a bit closer to the nose for that round cheek look, above the arch of my brows (if you have a lot of lid space, you can apply it under the arch of the brow, but if you have hooded eyes avoid that, because it will only make you look more hooded, instead apply on top of brows), in between the brows and slightly along the nose (but not down to the tip, because I have long nose in general), on the cupid's bow and on the inner corners of the eyes (this opens them up and makes them look brighter, avoid this step, if you have eyes that are wide apart, instead apply it only on the center of the lid).

BB cream, concealer, powder, contour, brows, mascara, highlighter
Another very important part that makes you look alive and healthy is blush. Blush has been in the makeup game for years and for a good reason. It's that instant pop of color that freshens up your complexion. I also used creamy blush in a muddy brownish mauve shade which is very close to my natural redness of the cheeks. The more natural color you use, the more natural it will look. You don't have to be too precise with it in order to achieve natural look,  just follow your natural redness of the cheeks. Again, creamy texture will blend into the skin seamlessly and look much more natural than a powder.

BB cream, concealer, powder, contour, brows, mascara, highlighter, blush
If you have vibrant natural lip color, you can just apply lip gloss and you're done. But if you're like me and your lip line is a bit blurred, you can use lip pencil in similar tone of your lips and just slightly define the edges. Blend it out with a q-tip to make it look more natural and less defined. Then I used a bit of that creamy blush and applied it on the lips. It makes the whole look come together in a similar tone. I also used a bit of sheer pink lip gloss on top to make the lips look fresh and juicy.

This is a simple natural, yet still defined, makeup look that will suits anyone as long as you adjust it to your features and skin tone. You can create this look in under 20 minutes, because you can basically apply all cream products at once and just blend it out well. I've done this already, when I was in an extreme rush. Cream products are also easier to blend, because they don't require any specific brushes or skills. I think it's a great everyday fresh natural makeup look.

If you want to spice this look up for an after work occasion or any other occasion that requires you to look more colorful, I'd say choose a good bright red lipstick and apply it on the lips with fingers or a lip brush. Diffuse the edges with a q-tip for a more effortless and modern look, like you haven't tried too much. I guarantee you it will look well put together with minimal effort.

This is just what I like, when it comes to natural. It may be way too much for some or too little for some. But I like to define my smaller eyes, add some contours to my face, as well as make the skin as glowy as possible. I'd love to hear what is your definition of natural makeup. Let me know in the comments.

Avon Mark Epic Lip zmagovalec nagradne igre!

Želela sem tudi objaviti kratek povzetek moje ankete. Spraševala sem vas kateri je vaš najljubši oziroma največkrat nošen odtenek rdečila za ustnice. Zmagovalec je tako imenovan nude odtenek. Pričakovano, tudi sama najraje nosim nosljive odtenke, sploh čez dan.

Tik za nude odtenkom sta na istem mestu roza in rdeč. Smatram, da sta to dva živahna odtenka po katerih posega večina, ko želi nekaj bolj barvitega.

Z občutno manj glasovi sledijo še rjav, koralen in mauve odtenek.

Hvala vsem za sodelovanje. V prihodnje pripravljam še vsaj dve nagradni igri, zato bo spet kakšna priložnost za sodelovanje.

Želim vam lep dan še naprej,
Petra :)

New In (15)

Yet another New In post about the products that I got mostly back in January. I've tried most of them, so here are short reviews.

This is a repurchase. I've already posted a review of it here. It's currently my favorite cleansing oil that I use as a first cleanse. It washes off makeup well, doesn't leave greasy layer behind and doesn't seem to break me out. I really like it.

Another repurchase and this time I decided to just get two bottles. I've spoken a bit about it here. It's great lightweight serum for those that have problems with dry or dehydrated skin. I use this under my moisturizer and it really helps to keep my skin moisturized and prevents dry patches. Plus, it's very affordable.

The Ordinary "Buffet"

It's a viscose lightweight gel like serum that basically contains everything you would need for a basic anti-aging serum. Apparently it uses technology of several peptides in a base of amino acids and multiple hyaluronic acid complexes. I got it, because I wanted a good basic serum to layer under my daily moisturizer. So far, it's been working fine, but I don't see any major difference with my fine lines. It's just a good overall base for keeping my skin plump, moisturized and healthy looking.

Essence LE Boys & Girls - Facial Sheet Mask*

This sheet mask positively surprised me. I'll have a full review on the blog in the upcoming week, but it's actually a really nice hydrating and nourishing mask. The sheet is also fairly thin and one of the first ingredients is niacinamide which gives a very subtle brightening effect. It's surprisingly nice.

Catrice Camouflage Cream - Anti-red and Anti-Shadow

I already have the wake up effect concealer and I decided to purchase other two colors as well, since Catrice is discontinuing them. I don't understand why, because they seem really nice. I love the thicker, but spreadable texture that covers well and neutralizes any unwanted tones. The yellow one works great for purplish toned skin, like mine is in the inner corners of the eyes and under the eyes in my hollows. Green is great for neutralizing red patches on the face. I sometimes use it over breakouts or on my redish cheeks. It's a good color corrector at a drugstore price.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Teint Mineral Compact Powder - 13 Sand Beige*

Obviously this is too dark for me to use as a powder, so I try to use it as a bronzer or at least as something to warm up my skin tone. But I haven't tried it enough, so I can't say how good it is. I'll probably update you on the formula on Instagram story.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Powder - 04 Light Bronze*

Another powder that is way too dark for me, so I also use it as a bronzer. It actually works with my skin tone, because it has a warm tone to it and I have yellow based skin tone. This I use as a warmer bronze shade on top of my regular bronzer, when I want to look warmer. It lasts fairly well and has a nice matte finish.

I've already posted a review of it here. It's a great blush with multiple color combinations. Pigmentation is actually really good, so you have to apply it lightly. You also get a variety of different finishes from matte to slightly more shimmery. It's a great one, if you're looking for a palette that has it all - highlight, blush and bronzer.

H&M Pure Velvet Cream Blusher - Cameo Brown

I got this in the sale section of H&M beauty and I really like it. It's that perfect muddy mauve shade that will suits so many skin tones. It looks very natural on the skin and on my warm skin tone it looks even a bit warmer which I love. Shade Cameo Brown reminds me a bit of their Rosy Brown shade in the powder format. It's creamy, but not too greasy and has a descent staying power. I used it in my All Creams Natural Makeup look. I love H&M blushes and would gladly buy their whole range, if I had too much money.

H&M Eye Colour-To-Go - Appaloosa

Another product from the sale aisle and another disappointing cream eyeshadow. I don't know what it is with me, but I'm on a constant search for that perfect warm copper bronzer shade in a cream (but preferably stick) format and I can't find anything good. So, if you have any suggestions, let me know. It's not as warm as I would like it to be and the more you blend it, the more it disappears. There's also an obvious chunk of gold glitter in it. Money wasted.

Ebelin LE Beauty Moments - Lid Brush

I've found a rose gold collection by Ebelin in Austrian DM (and I believe it's also in Slovenia) and it looked so pretty, I couldn't resist. The rest of the brushes didn't seemed such good quality, but I loved this small precise lid brush. I always need something flat and small to pack on the lid - different colors and pigments. It's just one of those versatile small brushes. I also use it to apply shimmery highlights in the inner corners of the eye.

Catrice Prisma Lip Glaze - 010 Enchanted Gold

I've wanted this ever since I saw it on promo photos. It's a transparent lip gloss with small shimmer that has a duo chrome look to it. It gives off gold and pink sheen. I can't catch this color on the photo, but it's so pretty. It has a nice nourishing feeling on the lips and isn't too sticky.

Catrice LE Genderless Peel-off Brow Tint - C01 Mudstone

I've already tried it out a few times and it's not what I expected. This will stain your brows, but I find it's just not as powerful as I would have wanted it to be. Plus the stain only lasts until you wash it off. The color is a bit off too. I'll have a separate review.

Essence Style Your Brows! Eyebrow Tool Kit

I only got this, because it was discontinued and I need a mini tweezer for on the go. The kit also contains a small spoolie, which is actually also practical to carry with you and small angled brush for filling in your brows. It's a cute set to travel with.

Bioderma Atoderm SOS Spray*

I've spoke about my skin allergies before and I wish this product would be available when I was little, because it would make my life so much easier. It's basically a spray for anti-aching and it offers immediate relief. If you suffer from atopic dermatitis, eczema or in general very dry skin that's itchy, you need to look this up. I've been trying it for a few weeks and it works. This offers you an immediate relief. I spray this on my eczema hands and it coats them with a milky nourishing layer that starts to relief the feeling of itchiness. It also creates a protective barrier on the skin, so the skin doesn't feel too dry. It's a must have for anyone that is prone to allergies and knows how difficult it is not to scratch your skin. I'll post a full review of it on my blog.

I also have a full review of swatches of these here. It's a great basic creamy formula with very nice pigmentation. The color range includes mostly pinks and reds, but there are also some nudes and very bold vibrant colors. It's basically like an upgraded version of Avon Mark Plump It Lipstick.

Beyu Ultra Violet Makeup Pack*

Beyu decided to send me package full of their purple products to celebrate this year's color of the year - Ultra Violet. I got some eye and lip products that I'm already testing out. Some I already own, so maybe there will be a giveaway for you. Keep in touch.

These are the products that I already reviewed:

Beyu DIP Eyeliner - 03 Certain Charm

I've already tried this out and it's one of my favorites from this kit. It's a liquid liner with sponge tip applicator that has a very precise tip. Color is darker brownish purple that has small shimmer in it which gives it lovely sheen. It also stays put for the whole day. Really nice colorful alternative to regular eyeliner.

Beyu Color Kajal - 106 Provence

This is a proper softer kajal pencil that is great for smudging out and creating a smoky eye look. I haven't worn it yet, but the shade seems like that perfect berry cool purple.

Beyu Soft Liner For Eye And More - 615 Dark Purple

I actually used their lip liner as my eyeliner, so now I finally have the one for the eyes in purple shade. Another lovely creamy eyeliner in a pen form that applies with ease. I love purple on brown eyes, so I'm sure I'll use this a lot.

Beyu Colorplay Lash Tip Mascara - 09 Lilac Poison

I've always wanted to try colored mascaras, but I never found a good purple shade. Usually they offer greens and blues, which don't think suit my brown eye color. So I was so excited to receive this. I tried it only on the tip of my lashes on top of black which gave me just a hint of purple to my eyes. I still have to try it all over the lashes, but I hope it works for that too.

Beyu Color Touch Lip Biggie - 41 Pure Passion

This is that perfect balmy, almost like a colored lip balm, crayon. It's great for creating a soft stain on your lips that looks effortless and it's low maintenance. Great product for those that just want a light wash of color. Also great for on the go.

Beyu Pure Color & Stay Lipstick - 167

Very creamy lipstick formula that gives you that perfect medium berry shade. The shade is gorgeous. I haven't worn it yet, but they claim it to be long lasting and mat. It's definitely not matte, but it has that typical creamy finish with a bit of sheen. I have to further test it out.

Soft Valentine's Makeup

Almost every year I do a Valentine's Day inspired makeup look. It's not that you should wear a certain look on Valentine's Day or even that you should only where it then, but I just like to take advantage of this occasion to post another romantic makeup look. Usually, I think of red lips or something pink toned. This year I had in mind this diffused, almost worn out, red lip look, so I paired it with a very warm toned brownish eye with just a bit of sparkle. It's a very natural and subtle looking makeup that won't make you feel like you're wearing a ton of makeup, but will just make you feel more romantic.

I wanted the eyes to have a very warm feel to them, neutral, but also a bit sparkly. I used eyeshadow primer, bone colored matte base color and then started building up the crease with a caramel brown matte shade. Then I used slightly darker warm matte brown and concentrated it on the inner and outer corner, leaving center of the lid empty. On the lid I applied a light golden shimmery shade and then went over it with even lighter golden shade that has a bit of pink sheen to it. I applied lighter shade more in the center.

I didn't want to use liquid eyeliner, but I wanted just a bit of definition and also something to help me hide false eyelashes. So I used dark chocolate matte brown on an angled brush as a soft eyeliner with a slight wing. Because this eye look is so simple, I added light layer of shimmery shades that have silver and gold glitter to them all over the lid. Just for some subtle sparkle. I applied the same shades around the lower lash line to again create that lighter glow in the center and getting darker towards the edges.

In the inner corners of my eyes I used a shimmery gold shade. I also applied defining mascara and very natural looking fluttery false eyelashes. These are longer at the outer corners to give that slightly winged out look, but are in general very natural look, not too thick nor too long. Later I also added white eye pencil in the inner rim on the lower lash line to make eyes look even more opened up and fresh.

I had this look in mind paired with a diffused red lip. To create this I started by applying a medium matte red shade in the inner part of the lips. Almost like, if you would do an ombre. Then I applied a slightly lighter more peach toned shade on the outer edges of the lips. Because it was still very light, I decided to apply a darker chocolate red in the very inner parts of the lips, almost like you've been eating berries. To make this look even softer and more worn looking, I used rounded eye brush to make the edges of the lips blend out and soften. I think this looks very romantic and effortless in a way.

On the face I applied matte looking foundation with a bit of concealer and powder. I warmed up my complexion by using light bronzer with a slight sheen as well as a more warm yellow toned powder to make it look even warmer. I also used a liquid champagne highlighter on my high points of the face and went over it with a golden champagne powder highlighter. It was still pretty subtle looking, since I wanted the whole look to be softer and nothing standing out too much. For the blush I went with a brownish peachy red shade that compliments red lip and makes me look like I'm naturally blushing.

I think the look feels effortless and not too done up. I used all my favorite warm colors and I think it looks kind of romantic, but still makes you look alive, especially, if you're as pale as I am right now. False eyelashes are so light and natural looking, that won't be bothering you either.

I also took a photo of the makeup products that I used. More details are below. I always write them in the order that I use them on the skin.

Review: Essence LE Boys & Girls - Facial Sheet Mask

Essence and Catrice both came out with two limited editions that are concentrating on products for both female and male population. Essence LE Boys & Girls includes a lot of basics for grooming and creating that perfect base. I got to test out their Facial Sheet Mask and it has positively surprised me.

Packaging

Sheet masks are gaining popularity in Europe as well and I have to say I really like them. It's the funnest and easiest way of including some great ingredients into your skin care routine for when you have some time on your hands. I've mostly been trying out Korean brands of sheet masks and only a few from our drugstores, which underwhelmed me.

Essence sheet mask comes in a simple plastic bag with stripes design in neutral black, white and blue colors.

I can't find information on the packaging about how much essence is actually in it, but it costs 2.19€

Here is the ingredients list. Niacinamide is high on the list, on 5th place and since there is no alcohol in it, it is already better than most of our drugstore sheet masks.

Formula

It has a thin, but viscose, transparent essence. I find there's plenty of it in the bag, so the sheet is well saturated and there is also some leftovers. I always use the rest as a serum on the second day.

Sheet and Fit

Sheet is fairly thin and it sticks well to the skin. I like the fit, because it covers my brows and has big enough eye opening. It almost covers my long nose, there's only a bit of the tip left out. It's also wide enough to cover my whole face.

Performance

I loved the fact that the sheet didn't dry out too fast which meant it was well saturated. Some drugstore sheets have dried out really fast on me.

It felt very soothing and moisturizing on the skin. There was no irritation. After I took it off, it left behind a slight sticky layer which I love, because to me it means that it's nourishing. The sticky layer never really vanishes completely, but it's a good base for makeup.

It definitely made my skin look a bit brighter, probably due to niacinamide in it (although nothing like some Asian masks I've tried before). My skin looked very glowy, felt nourished and even a bit plumper. This is definitely good sheet mask for sensitive and dry skin in need of nourishment. It reminded me a bit of Etude House 0.2 Therapy Air Mask - Ceramide sheet mask which also has that lovely nourishment to it.

It has a mild soothing scent which for some reason reminds me of creams.

I didn't expect much from this sheet mask, but I really liked it. It's great moisturizing mask that also gives you descent nourishment and a bit of brightening effect which is much more than most of the sheet masks that we can find in our drugstores. If you have dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, I recommend this one for you. I already bought myself another one of these last week.

You can already find this Limited Edition in all the places that sell Essence Cosmetics - DM, Müller, Merkator Hipermarket, Spar megamarket, Ličila.si, Click2Chic, Leclerc Maribor and Ljubljana.

Review: Colourpop Super Shock Cheek - Flexitarian

$

So far I've mostly just ordered Super Shock Shadows from Colourpop, but I was really curious about the Super Shock Cheek formula, their highlighters in particular. I ordered shade Flexitarian, which is KathleenLights' favorite Colourpop highlighter in this formula and supposedly also one of the most reflective highlighters out there. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint.

Packaging

It comes in the same packaging as Super Shock Shadows, just a bit bigger. Pot is made out of white plastic and it has a transparent lid. Minimalistic. Make sure you really close it well, otherwise the product will dry out.

In it is 4.2 grams of product and it costs 8$. You can buy it at Colourpop.

Mine came shrunken and I didn't know what exactly happened to it. I didn't even know, if these also have an embossed design on them or not. It might have been faulty in the production or it might have shrunken in the midst of transport. I used my fingers and spread it out to fit in the pot and the formula still works fine, thankfully.

Formula

It has that same creamy, almost mousse like formula as their Super Shock Shadows. But once it touches the skin, it turns into a powder. It applies very smooth, glides on the skin like a dream. You can apply it over cream products or over powders and it won't grab or look weird.

It has really good pigmentation with just one swipe and a light touch of the pot. This is definitely one of the best pigmented creamy, yet powdery highlighters I own.

Shimmer in it is super fine and almost unnoticeable. It definitely gives you an intense, almost glossy looking metallic finish. But all you see is intense sheen, no visible shimmer. It's currently the most noticeable and reflective highlighter in my collection. I love it so much, because it doesn't have super pigmented base and it seems like you can almost see your natural skin through it.

Colors

I got it in the shade Flexitarian which is described as intense white champagne. Description is correct. Base looks very much like a light champagne shade in the pot, but once you apply it on the skin, you see this very intense metallic white sheen to it. White sheen makes it look slightly cool toned, but the base is initially warm. Shade in general is very light and would suit fair as well as light skin tones. On anything darker than that, it would really stand out and be very obvious.

Colourpop currently has 25 different shades to choose from. They have highlighter for fair to pretty dark skin tones as well as some more colorful purple and blue options.

Dupes

I compared it to some of my other highlighters to get you an idea of how it compares.

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer - peachy gold champagne shade. It's darker and a lot warmer.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Moonstone - yellow gold shade that is also light, but a lot warmer.
Catrice Kaviar Gauche Highlighter - champagne gold shade that is light, but has more of a golden sheen to it.
Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette Equinox - this one is the most similar to it, because it has that cool white sheen to it, but the base is a lot darker and more peachy.

Performance

You can try to apply it lightly and you get a more subtle, transparent sheen. But in general, if you apply just a bit more pressure while applying it on the skin, it will look very intense. I prefer applying it with fingers, because it works best. You pick up the most color and get the most intense look. You can also apply it with a makeup sponge or a brush. Fluffy brushes will give you very natural look. You can also use a small dense brush which picks up a lot more product.

Formula is very long lasting. It looks practically the same at the end of the day as it looked when freshly applied. It doesn't move, sticks well and stays on without fading.

You can use it as a highlighter on the cheeks as well as on the eyes. It makes a killer inner corner highlight - really opens up your eyes and makes them pop.

Left: no highlight, Right: very light application of highlight

Heavily applied

Left: no highlight, Right: heavy application of highlight

Inner corner highlight

Lips: Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick - 02 Flaming'rose

I have to say the quality of Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian is well worth the price, even though it's on a more affordable side of pricing. Formula is creamy, but turns powdery once it touches the skin. Pigmentation is amazing without looking too opaque, it stays on the skin all day and gives you almost glossy metallic finish. It's not for those that want a very natural highlight, because this packs a punch, but without looking too artificial. It's great for fair and light skin tone.

On me it almost looks a bit too light, but that just makes it stand out more. I usually go for warmer shades that are closer to my skin tone, but I can't seem to put it down ever since I first tried it. I definitely recommend you to get it, if you like the sound of it. I have my eye on some other shades that I still want to get - Lunch Money and Wisp

Review: Nivea Aloe & Hydration Body Lotion

$

When I think of Nivea, I think of body products. I still remember their universal cream in a dark blue tin packaging that was a staple in many families, when I was little. I never really like their face creams, because they're too perfumed and basic, but their body lotions and shower gels always work for my skin. I especially like nourishing abilities. I've already talked about their Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Milk which is one of my favorites from their brand and great for creating super glowy skin all over the body. Today I'm writing about their Nivea Aloe & Hydration Body Lotion

Packaging

It comes in a white plastic packaging with minimal design. I like that they have a slanted top which means you can actually place it on its head and it stands. This makes it easier to get out every last drop of the lotion.

In it is 250 ml of product and it costs something around 4€.

Formula

Nivea says that their body lotion contains intensive Nivea hydrating serum, nourishing oils, aloe vera  extract and helps to keep your skin hydrated with the help of lipids. It should protect the skin from water loss and make it feel more hydrated.

Aloe vera is a fairly commonly used ingredient in skin care. It's great gentle ingredient that helps to hydrate and calm the skin. Nivea also says that aloe vera is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids and enzymes

It has firm, but slightly transparent white lotion cosistency that is very smooth and spreads with utter ease. It's super lightweight in its way, but once you massage it in, you can still feel slight nourishing layer on the skin, although it's completely matte looking

It has a subtle herbal, but also a bit sweet scent. Pleasant, but not overwhelming.

Performance

I have much drier skin on my body in the winter than in the warmer months, which I'm sure is the usual with most of you too. My problem area is my lower half of legs, which sometimes get so dry that they look white and small patches of skin start to flake off. Ever since I was using this lotion religiously every morning or night, I don't have that problem. I can apply it on in the evening and in the morning my skin still looks hydrated. It's not ultra nourishing, like their rich version, but it's much more lightweight and feels like nothing on the skin. It also never felt irritating on my sensitive skin.

This would be perfect for summer time or for transitioning into winter, if you're like me and love a good heavy balmy nourishing lotion for the winter. However, if you hate anything too rich and noticeable on the skin, you would love this regardless of the season. I even caught my boyfriend using this on his dry legs and I'm assuming he likes it that much because of the no-grease residue

When it comes to body products I go for something that is nourishing, hydrating and doesn't irritate my skin. This Nivea Aloe & Hydration Body Lotion is lightweight, but has nourishing and hydrating abilities without leaving your skin looking or feeling greasy. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and the fragrance in it is subtle enough that it doesn't bother me through the day. If you want something lightweight, but that does the job, you would probably like it.

Review: Colourpop Yes, Please! Shadow Palette

$

When I was ordering from Colourpop, I knew I wanted to get my hands on one of their best selling eyeshadow palettes - Yes, Please! Pressed Powder Shadow Palette. It is full of warm tones that I love and a mix of shimmers and mattes. It's no wonder that this is one of their best selling products, since the quality did not disappoint.

Packaging

It comes in a bright yellow box sleeve. The actual palette has that cardboard packaging with magnetic closing and light grey shade. I have to say mine already looks so dirty. Opting for something darker would be much more practical. It closes securely and the magnet is powerful.

In it is 12 x 0.85 grams of product, so 10.20 grams in total, and it costs 16$. You can buy it at Colourpop.

Colors

In the palette you get 12 colors. They are mostly in the warm toned family. 8 of them are matte and 4 are metallic. They are mostly neutral warm browns, peaches and reds paired with some shimmery pops of gold, orange and reds.

Swatches

Full Zip - matte pale warm beige / wet / good pigmentation
Big Cocktails - matte medium warm vibrant orange / drier / good pigmentation
Champs - matte light warm salmon (peachy pink) / wet / good pigmentation
Bling - metallic medium warm cranberry rusty red / really creamy / extremely pigmented
Louie - metallic medium warm grapefruit red (duo chrome - red base and orange gold sheen) / creamy / really pigmented
Butter Cake - metallic warm light yellow gold / creamy / really pigmented
Spoiled - matte medium warm red / wet / really pigmented
GNO - matte medium warm rusty orange brown / drier / good pigmentation
Mischief - matte light warm vibrant yellow / drier / good pigmentation
Note to Self - matte medium warm caramel brown / wet / really pigmented
Chauffeur - metallic light warm yellow orange (duo chrome - orange base and yellow gold sheen) / drier / good pigmentation
French Kiss - matte dark warm chocolate brown / wet / really pigmented

Full Zip is that perfect transition shade for setting eyeshadow primer. Champs is great transition shade for light skin tone.

Big Cocktails, GNO and Note to Self are those perfect warm matte shades to put in the crease or just all over the lid. If you want to make it more red, Spoiled would be your next more colorful matte shade. Mischief is the perfect transition shade that you can apply over any other shade, if you want to make your makeup seem even warmer. Apply this in the crease to warm up the whole look. French Kiss is the darkest shade to darken up the outer corners or use it as an eyeliner close to the lash line.

Bling and Louie are those perfect warm redish orange based metallic shades that you can apply all over the lid. They pair so well with the mattes. Chauffeur is a lighter and much brighter orange version for the lid. If you want something with even more metallic feel to it and brighter, go for Butter Cake which is also great inner corner highlight.

My absolute favorite shades are Note to Self (my favorite crease shade or all over matte shade), Champs (great transition shade for the crease), Full Zip (perfect and always needed matte shade to set the eyeshadow primer), Full Zip (just so creamy and great for all over the lid), Louie (the most amazing blend of colors for on the lid and so unique) and Butter Cake (great as a highlight in the center of the lid or in the inner corners). This palette has it all. Mattes and metallics, light and dark shades and in general good warm toned family.

Formula

Formula is a bit different from shade to shade, but in general they feel more wet than drier, although there are some exceptions that feel a bit drier, but still have good pigmentation. Most matte shades have wetter formula which also gives them great pigmentation with just a slight touch. Some metallic shades feel straight up like a cream and have amazing pigmentation, while some other feel a bit drier, but the pigmentation is still there. You just need to build it up. I wrote formula and pigmentation next to each shade.

Pigmentation in general is amazing. Most of these shades just need the slightest touch of a brush and it deposits all the color you want. I am shocked by the pigment in Colourpop eyeshadow palettes, especially considering the price. Matte shades have kick-up, so you need to tap the brush before you apply it on the eyes or you'll have some fallout. I don't notice that with shimmery shades. But the kick-up usually happens with strong amount of pigments that the shadows contain which is a plus point on the pigmentation side.

Performance

I can wear these shadows on my eyes for the whole day and they don't move, crease or noticeably fade - but I always use eyeshadow primer underneath. They are definitely long lasting. The intensity of some colors in insane and I don't notice them getting any less intense as the day goes on.

They also blend with ease. The only shade that gives me some problems is French Kiss, which might be because of the darker pigment in it.

Now let's go onto some of the makeup looks that I created with this palette. I have product list next to each look, so you know exactly which shades I used.

I am very positively surprised, if not shocked, by how pigmented Colourpop eyeshadow palettes are. I think they are definitely one of the best palettes in their price range and worth the money. Yes, Please! is that very bright, yet sort of still neutral palette for those that love warm tones. Some shades look very bright on my light skin tone. Pigmentation is amazing, they last all day and don't crease, if you use eyeshadow primer. Formula is mostly on the wetter side and some colors have a lot of kick-up so you need to tap the brush before you apply it on the lid. If you can get past that, you will love the palette. Highly recommend you getting any of their palettes, because the pigmentation is there. I will definitely buy some more in the future. Currently on my wishlist are - Give It To Me Straight, All I See Is Magic and Take Me Home.

I also wanted to update you that Colourpop Fem Rosa She Palette will be in stock for the last time on 22nd November at 10AM PST (today, if you're reading it when I posted it), so if you like that one, here's your last chance to get it. I have review of it here

Review: Catrice LE Genderless Peel-Off Brow Tint - C01 Mudstone

$
0
0
I've spoken about sheet mask from Essence Genderless LE and Catrice also has the same concept for their latest limited edition called Genderless. Products that are universal and can be used by men and women. In the range was also a peel-off brow tint and I immediately got curious about it. I was hoping for a waterproof or at least very long lasting tint, but this is more of a one day effect.

Packaging

It comes in a plastic brown packaging with silver details. In it is 4 ml of product and it costs 4.29€.

It has sponge applicator that has a flat lip gloss like shape. Catrice says that it is a precise applicator, but I disagree. It's way too big for you to outline brows precisely, especially if you have thinner brows. I used a separate angled brush to apply the tint and make it really neat. You also can't really apply the tint in between the brows, it more just sits on top. Smaller brush applicator would work much better.

Colors

They have two tint shades and Catrice describes it as light and dark ash color. Mine is definitely not ash color. I chose the lightest shade, because honestly, I couldn't tell a difference by looking at the packaging and I was afraid that the second shade would be too dark for me.

C01 Mudstone is light to medium brown that has a tiny bit of red undertone to it. It's definitely on the warmer side. My natural brows are very ashy and cool toned, so I noticed the different in tone in person even more than it shows on the photo.

Application

Here you can see it step by step in action. From the left side is my natural brow. In the center I tried to apply tint as neatly as possible, which is hard considering that the brows are 3D and you mostly just apply tint on top of them not really in between. On the right photo is the result that I got after leaving it on a bit over 15 minutes. Catrice says to leave it on for 10 minutes.

Formula

Tint has sticky creamy consistency that to me feels like a regular lip gloss formula. It sticks well to the skin and doesn't drip. You can wipe it off with a damp q-tip, if you feel like you messed up while applying it on.

It dries down completely and you can feel it becoming hard to the touch. Then you can peel it off like some of those peel off face masks that you might have owned already. The peel looks like net made out of small fibers. At one point I thought I ripped off my brows, but it just looks like that, because off the brows texture underneath. It doesn't rip out any brows and it's not damaging. If you apply a thicker coat, you'll have a better chance of pulling it off in one piece. Just like with the face masks.

Performance

The result was way too light for me. I expected a lot more color payoff. It just lightly tinted my skin and it didn't even make it look noticeably thicker, so I wanted to use my regular brow products after using this tint. I tried it a few times making it thicker and more dense, but it didn't do much of a difference.

I also tried rubbing watered cotton pad over the brows and it almost took all of it off. I wet my cotton pad in Bioderma micellar water and it took it off completely, so it's not waterproof and won't last you longer than one day, supposing that you actually clean your face once a day.

On the photo below you can see the result paired with makeup. I am disappointed. I expected a lot stronger payoff and the applicator is not as precise as I wanted it to be. I want brow tint to be very long lasting and even waterproof so that I can use it on a pool day or when I'm on holiday by the sea, but this is not going to be for that. For a day to day makeup routine this takes too long and the effect is so minimal that I wouldn't buy it again.

I expected something with a lot of pigment, visible effect and long lasting, but this is not it. It very lightly tints the brows. Applicator is not precise enough and the color si not as natural ash toned as they described it to be. It's just too much hassle for too little effect. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you want something very natural for your brows and have at least 15 minutes to put it on.

Review: Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip - Aquarius and Screenshot

$

I once got a mini sized Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip in Frick 'n' Frack with my order and ever since then I wanted to try some other more nude shades. The formula is one of those rare mattes that actually feels comfortable on the lips. When I was ordering their eye palettes, I also order two Ultra Satin Lips in shades Aquarius and Screenshot.

Packaging

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips come in plastic transparent packaging with silver details. In each is 3.2 grams of product and the price is 6.50$. They often have their liquid lipsticks on offer at even more affordable prices. You can buy all their products from Colourpop site

It has that basic fluffy doe foot applicator that spreads the color evenly and you can apply it precisely without needing additional lip brush.

Formula

These have creamy, but somehow fairly lightweight formula that glides on the lips with ease. It doesn't look weird over dry patches either. Pigmentation is amazing with just one swipe and you really don't need to apply more than one coat to completely cover the lips. They almost feel too pigmented to me. Sometimes I want to apply lipsticks in a more sheer way and you can't really do that with these, because they are packed with pigment. Even those lighter shades.

Finish is satin at first, because it starts to apply very creamy and has a bit of sheen to it. It needs quite a lot of time to dry down and as it's drying, it's becoming matter looking. After a while (about half an hour later, depending on how thick your coat is) it becomes a proper matte finish.

Performance

It feels a bit sticky on the lips, but nothing like a lip gloss. Stickiness doesn't move the formula, even if you pucker up your lips, which is a plus. The lipstick in general doesn't move out of your lip line, but it transfers onto anything that it touches.

It lasts really well on the lips. I don't need to reapply it, unless I eat. It's not as long lasting as proper ultra matte liquid lipsticks, but it lasts for a descent amount of time.

I now own three shades in Ultra Satin formula and they all feel very comfortable on the lips considering that they dry down to a matte finish. I never get that tight drying feeling. It's not the most lightweight formula ever, but it's also not heavy on the lips.

Colors

Colourpop has a huge amount of colors to choose from and they are constantly adding new shades. I believe their liquid lipsticks are their best sellers along with eyeshadows. I chose two more neutral shades that I know I'll wear often.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip - Aquarius

I actually bought Aquarius lip bundle with their Ultra Matte, Ultra Satin and Ultra Glossy Lip in shades Aquarius. Glossy and matte I gave to my friends as a gift and I decided to keep Ultra Satin formula.

Aquarius is that perfect nude shade for light skin tones. It has brownish base and just enough pink in it. It looks lighter in the packaging than on the lips. Colourpop describes it as soft pinky nude.

Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip - Screenshot

I had this color stuck in my mind from the moment I found it on Colourpop site and when I was ordering from them, I remembered to order this one too. Unfortunately, Colourpop already discontinued this shade, but maybe they'll bring it back.

Screenshot is my kind of shade. It's light warm toned brown and the undertone in it is peachy almost brick orange. It's the perfect warm brown that isn't too peachy, but also not too brown. I love wearing these kind of shades.

Comparison

I don't have any true dupe for either of these shades in my collection, so I swatched it next to similar shades for shade reference.

MAC Patisserie - the sheerest formula, but in that similar nude pink color family, although it's the lightest shade out of all these.
Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor HD Forever - the darkest nude and it has more of that mauve brown undertone to it.
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Stockholm - the most vibrant pinkish nude shade. It's not as muted as it should be to be a dupe.
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip Aquarius
Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip Screenshot
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream London - warmer brown and has more of a yellow peachy undertone to it. It's also lighter in shade.
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Marvelous Mocha - probably the closest shade to being a dupe, but it's just slightly too warm yellow toned. Just a bit, but it has that peach warmth to the brown base.
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Au Natural - again a lighter shade an much more peach tones as well as much more warm yellow based.

I love both shades that I chose. Aquarius is the perfect light pinky nude shade. Screenshot is that warm brown, a bit darker, nude that will pair so well with warm looks. Formula is creamy, comfortable and it dries down slowly to a matte finish. It's a bit sticky and not transfer proof, but the comfort of wear makes up for it. If you like more comfortable formulas of matte liquid lipsticks and want something with great pigmentation, you'll love this. Plus Colourpop has so many different shades to choose from.

I am not usually a creature of habit. More or less, I'm stuck on my latest newest products, but this month I've come back to some of my oldies. I am mostly featuring products I have already reviewed and that are very much loved through the whole year. I'm also concentrating more on skin care bits, since the cold weather is not doing my skin any good these days.

Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening Honey Mask Pack

I loved this mask and especially love the fact that it had so much essence in the pack. I am still using essence for about 5 days now. The sheet is one of the thinnest I have tried so far and it fits well on my face. It's a very nourishing and makes my skin look much plumper. It also visibly brightens skin tone. I love the scent that it has, it reminds me of honey and oranges. In general it's just one of the best sheet masks I have tried so far and I love that there is so much leftover essence in it that you can use for the next week.

I go back to this BB cream whenever I am the palest and the weather is the coldest. It's one of those grey colored Asian BB creams, but it feels and looks so good on the skin. Coverage is amazing for a BB cream and it also looks very natural. I love that it feels hydrating on the skin and never looks cakey, but it gives you good coverage. It's the perfect BB cream for those cold days and the grey shade actually blends into my skin well. I also love the fact that it's actually very light and I don't need to mix it with anything else. It's the best of skin care and foundation in one.

This is just so lovely. I adore its citrusy scent, velvet finish on the skin and the fact that it feels so lightweight. Sun screens are usually not the best for applying under the makeup, but this one works great. It's one of my favorite sun screens that I use on daily basis, especially in the colder months, when I'm using more acid based products. This is my second tube and I am already planning on ordering another one, because I use it up so quickly.

Pinch Me is one of those older products in my collection that I just love to pair with looks that I don't want to be too pink nor too peach. It's that perfect mix of red, peach and brown and it just looks so good with different makeup looks. It's not too pigmented and stil looks a bit sheer on the skin which I love, because I'm not big on pigmented blushes. It also lasts really well on the skin.

Another oldie that I adore. This is one of my favorite highlighters and it's perfect for winter, because it's pale enough, but has that light golden sheen to it. It's essentially light champagne shade with pale gold. It has fine shimmer that makes it look natural, but it still packs a glow. I've already made a dent in it, so you know I love it.

NYX Eye And Eyebrow Pencil in White Blanc and NYX Faux Whites Inner Eye Brightener in Vanilla

So I don't usually use eye pencil on my tight line, but I've started using them again on my lower tight line. I use both of these pencils to add brightness and make my eyes look bigger. Just on those days that I feel my eyes aren't too dry, because I have problems with that. White Blanc is a bit stiffer pencil in that proper very white shade. Vanilla is a lot more creamy pencil with a white base and light yellow tint to it. They both last well on my tight line and make me look just a bit brighter and fresher.

Somehow I always get bold spots in my brows in the winter. I have a few patches that are more sparse with the brows anyway, but those bold spots drive me crazy. This is the only pencil I can find at an affordable price that actually sticks to the skin where there isn't any brow hair. It has that grey toned medium brown shade and I love how precise it is. You can just draw it on where you need it without it looking too bold. It's my must have for the brows.

Catrice Prisma Lip Glaze - 010 Enchanted Gold

I haven't been that excited about a lip gloss in a while. In the packaging it looks like a very pale yellow gold, but it also contains small pink shimmers that give it that gold pink sheen. Shimmer is just big enough that it pops and sparkles under light, but it doesn't look glittery or too much. I love applying it on top of lipsticks on the center of the lip, but it also looks amazing on its own. Formula is not too sticky and wears very comfortably.

Bioderma Atoderm SOS Spray

I'll have a separate review on my blog in a few days, so I won't go into details now. But it's basically quick relief spray for those that have problems with itchy dry skin. I have eczema on my hands and this really helps me when I have that attack of itchiness that I can't hold myself back. It's basically a milky white liquid that coats your skin and reliefs itchiness as well as protects the skin from further irritation. Must have for irritated and itchy skin.

I have quite a perfume collection and it's rare that I use up half of one bottle, let alone a whole bottle. But this is one of those rare perfumes that I already used up more than half of it. It's the most sophisticated oriental sweet fragrance that isn't too sweet, but has that basic oriental notes of sandalwood and amber. It's just sweet enough and feels way more sophisticated than most of my other sweet scents. I can't get enough of it.

The Bold Type

As for my non-beauty favorites, I've been loving watching The Bold Type. It's a TV show inspired by the life of Cosmopolitan editor in chief, Joanna Coles. I've always loved movies about that high paced New York lifestyle of beauty editors for magazines. It sort of reminds me of Sex And The City and movies like How to Loose a Guy In 10 Days. Something about this format just feels so light and fun. This show is all about the lives of three young women who work at a Scarlet magazine. One works on their social media, one is a journalist and one works in a fashion department. I'm on my first season now, so don't spoil it for me. But it's just a fun show to relax with at the evening.

Rosy Spring Makeup

I was inspired to do this makeup look, when I saw Hailee Steinfeld's Capital Letters Music Video. This was her first look in the video in a hotel room and I loved how glowy and simple it looked. She has even slightly lighter warm brown eyeshadow paired with rosy cheeks and lips. So I created my own version that is perfect for spring. I'm sick of this snow that keeps on hanging out in my backyard, so I'm already in the spring mood. Hence the spring makeup look.

This eye makeup is very simple. I started by applying a light wash of golden brown color all over my lid. Then I added a slightly cooler yellow gold on the center of the lid. I used very creamy black pen liner to create a tight line around the lashes.

I smudged the line and just slightly pulled it out and up. I also used matte chocolate brown shade to smudge over the black pen line and soften it a bit. Around my lower lash line I used the same light wash of golden brown shade.

On the inner corners I used a bit of shimmery champagne gold shade, but not as heavy as I usually do. I skipped false lashes, although Hailee definitely had them in her video. Instead I just applied a lot of coats of volumizing mascara and I think it looks dramatic enough. I used very small amount of mascara on my lower lashes, concentrating the color only very close to the roots. My lower lashes are long and can quickly overpower upper lashes, so I tried to avoid that.

On my face I used a BB cream and concealed with concealer. I also set it with powder. For bronzer I decided to use mineral powder that is too dark for me, but has that beautiful yellow base to it, so the look gets that warmth that eyes have as well. I did use a bit of my regular more grey toned bronzer only under my cheek bones to define just a bit.

This look wouldn't be as romantic and fresh without that glowy blush. For that I used matte mauve colored blush and applied it on the apples of my cheeks. Usually I bring it more back, almost as a draping or contour shape, but this time I tried to leave it on the apples. I also applied light pink toned highlighting blush shade on top of it for that extra glow. I did also use champagne gold highlighter on the points of the face that I usually highlight.

For the lips I used a mixture of brownish pink and more mauve pink. I also applied duo chrome golden pink lip gloss on the center of upper and lower lip, making sure to get it on top of that cupid's bow as well for that juicy highlighter lip look.

Every spring I dig out my pinks and I feel this year is going to be no different. This is a good simple warm and rosy makeup look that is perfect for adding that color to your face after a long boring grey winter. It brightens up any complexion and I like that it doesn't involve a lot of eyeshadow work. I even curled my hair to make it look more romantic and similar to Hailee's.

Review: Bioderma Atoderm SOS Spray

I've mentioned several times that I've had skin allergies since I was 4 years old. These have since then almost vanished and my skin is much less irritated and sensitized. But I did get eczema on my hands and I've been dealing with it for about 4 to 5 years now. My type is dyshidrotic eczema with little water filled bubbles that itch like crazy. I also have very dry hands, because my skin barrier is compromised most of the time. So I was extremely excited to test out this brand new Bioderma Atoderm SOS Spray for instant itch relief.

Packaging

It comes in an aerosol with white and blue design that is the same for all Atoderm products. It has aerosol spray top that produces large mist with splatters of milky liquid

I have mini travel size that contains 50 ml of product and costs 12.90€. You can also get a full size that contains 200 ml of product and it costs 22.70€. In Slovenia you can buy Bioderma in all pharmacies and Leposana in E.Leclerc

Bioderma Atoderm SOS Spray is spray for immediate itch relief. It can be used for frequent or temporary itching. It's meant for irritated, dry, very dry to atopic sensitive skin. Especially suitable for those with chronic hives, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, eczema, senile xerosis and psoriasis. It can also be used on newborns.

Formula

Let's talk about the ingredients that are key components of this spray actually working. Spray benefits from a new scientific discovery. They discovered 2 new biological targets that were identified as causing itching for skin prone to atopy or psoriasis. It should also act on other biological pathways for global action on itching.

Skin Relief Technology contains Ambora and Green tea extracts combined with renowned soothing dermatological active ingredient Enoxolone. It blocks the biological process responsible for itching from the start and directly targets each of involved pathways.

Skin Barrier Therapy patent protects even the driest skin from bacteria that causes itching to intensify. Vitamin PP and Squalane supplement the formula in order to supply lipids required to strengthen skin barrier. Patented natural D.A.F. - Dermatological Advanced Formula complex raises the skin's tolerance threshold.

Because of all these ingredients skin should feel immediately soothed and  the urge to scratch reduced for a lasting effect. It should provide you with immediate comfort, long lasting hydration and intensive protection.

INCI

AQUA/WATER/EAU, GLYCERIN, DIPROPYLENE GLYCOL, ISOSTEARYL ISOSTEARATE, SUCROSE STEARATE, SQUALANE, MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE, PENTYLENE GLYCOL, GLYCYRRHETINIC ACID, DISODIUM EDTA, CELLULOSE GUM, D.A.F. (Dermatological Advanced Formulation), POLYACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER-6, TAMBOURISSA TRICHOPHYLLA LEAF EXTRACT, TOCOPHEROL, LECITHIN, HELIANTHUS ANNUUS (SUNFLOWER) SEED OIL, NIACINAMIDE, CAMELLIA SINENSIS LEAF EXTRACT, FRUCTOOLIGOSACCHARIDES, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, LAMINARIA OCHROLEUCA EXTRACT. [BI 732]

Bioderma describes its formula as extremely light texture. It's an emulsion of oil in water and it should also feel refreshing. Ph level should be between 5 and 5.5

Spray produces milky white liquid that sticks to the skin, but is fairly watery. It doesn't drip off. You can spread it around, especially if you want to apply it to hard to reach areas, like in between the fingers. I have to warn you, be careful where you spray it, because if it falls on the floor, it makes it very slippery.

It soaks in the skin well. If you apply thicker layer, you might need to pat it into the skin. It leaves behind undetectable finish, which is a bit shiny at first, but sets matte. I find it to be a bit sticky and nourishing, but looks like nothing on the actual skin.

It has no apparent scent to it.

Performance

After I spray it on the area that feels irritated, itchy and red, I get this feel of slight tingling and soothing. It really does acts as an immediate relief. My skin feels less irritated and the itching is gone. Believe me, no one was more surprised than me. I wish I had this when my whole skin was itching and I had wounds all over my body from scratching it.

Spray soothes itching in 60 seconds and it should be efficient for at least 6 hours after that. I haven't tried that, because I go to the bathroom and I wash my hands often, but I have sprayed this on before going to bed and I never woke up in the middle of night wanting to scratch, which has occurred to me before. Not with this spray though.

They also provide you with ultra fast 360° application in one step which should be ideal for hard to reach areas. You need to spray from 20 cm distance, spread it and let it dry

My right hand is the "worse" hand and I wanted to show you how dry and irritated my skin is there. On the second photo I sprayed SOS spray and on the third photo you can see it drying on the skin. It still has that dewy look to it.

Where have you been all my life, comes to mind after testing it out. It's definitely the most effective product I have tried so far for itch relief. On the market you can find ceramide based creams that strengthen skin's barrier as well as menthol or tea tree based products that should provide you with an itch relief, but honestly none of those actually stop the itching and stop you from scratching. This spray is the first such products that actually made my skin give a break from that itchy feeling. It really does work in seconds and it coats the skin with nice soothing, but nourishing layer. Dry skin goes hand in hand with itching, so I find it to be itch relief,as well as skin care product in one

If you suffer from dry and itchy skin, I highly recommend you to pick this up. You can get mini size at first and then see, if it works for you. I was so positively surprised. After you've tried so many different products, you kind of have this preconceived notion of "oh yeah, another product that "works"! - right".  But after trying it out I definitely support their claim. It soothes irritated skin in the matter of seconds. Skin doesn't feel itchy anymore and the milky liquid coats the skin and nourishes it. I am definitely getting myself another bottle as soon as I'm out of this one, because this is one of those rare products that actually work.

I made a point to write a long review of it, because I know how difficult it is to deal with itchy skin and I really want those of you that have the same problems to find solution. I hope this spray works for you as good as it did for me.

Review: Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick - 02 Flaming'rose

$

I already own two shades of Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick and I adore their matte formula. Recently I got another shade that was gifted to me by lovely friend Astrid. It's called 02 Flaming'rose and it's probably one of my favorite pinks. So wearable and would suit many skin tones.

Packaging

All of their lipstick come in a plastic packaging with the color that is in the actual bullet. It has minimalistic colorful and black design. On top it's square and on the bottom it comes into a circle. It closes very securely, to the point that you have to really pull it to open it up.

In it is 2.4 grams of product and it costs 13.99€.

Bullet has that tear or petal shape which makes it very easy to apply it on the lips precisely without needing additional lip brush. I love this shape.

Formula

Formula is this lipstick's forte and one of the reasons I could almost forgive it its steep price tag. It has ultra smooth and creamy formula, but without it feeling waxy or heavy. It applies so smooth that it almost feels like a highly pigmented lip balm.

After about 2 minutes it dries down to a complete matte finish. The finish is almost as matte as with matte liquid lipsticks.

Pigmentation is good, but if you want a full on opaque look, you have to apply at least two coats. Make sure to get into all those little cracks. It's so creamy that you'll want to slide it all over the lips a few times anyway.

Performance

Another win is that these lipsticks feel so comfortable on the lips. I have generally very dry lips and have to pick and choose when to wear a matte lipstick, but I don't have any discomfort with this formula. It feels very lightweight on the lips and so comfortable. It never makes my lips any drier.

Formula is long lasting. It has minimal transfer, but it will survive drinking and even some eating.

Scent differs among shades. This one has that sort of powdery sweet floral scent. I don't notice it once it's on my lips.

Colors

Bourjois originally had 12 different colors in this range, but they've just recently added four new shades, so it's now 16in total. New shades are more brown based peaches, browns and pinks. I really like the fact that Bourjois adds more unique shades to their range, especially lots of nudes.

02 Flaming'rose is light muted pink. It has that brown base to it that makes it very wearable and kind of muddy looking. It makes the pink less vibrant and therefore one of those my lips but better shades. On my skin tone it leans slightly more warm toned, because my yellow skin tone makes any lipstick more peach toned.

This is actually one of those rare pinks that I enjoy wearing on daily basis, because it's not too pink and not too vibrant. It goes with so many makeup looks and I feel like this shade would suit many different skint ones.

Comparison

I tried to find similar shades in my collection. There is no actual dupe, but there are a lot of similar shades.

Avon Shine Burst Stick Rose - this is a glossier pink version for those that like these kind of colors, but want something more transparent. It has that muddy pink base to it, but it's much lighter and more pink toned.
Avon Mark Plump It Lipstick Rose Kisses - another more pink toned version, a bit brighter, but also has that brown muddy base to it.
Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipstick Pure Pink - it's probably the most similar in tone, but it's lighter and has just a bit more of that pure light pink base to it. Although it's not a proper pink either.
Bourjois Rouge Velvet The Lipstick 02 Flaming'rose

I swatched all my three shades next to each other. You can read a review of 06 Abrico'dabra and 12 Brunette here.  Now I have a pink nude option for spring, bright peach for summer and a redish brown for fall. I still have my eye on those new brown shades (especially 15 and 16), but I have so many other similar lipstick shades that I probably won't buy these. At least not on that full price tag. Maybe, if there's a discount.

I think this is one of the best regular matte lipstick formulas besides Avon True Colour Perfectly Matte Lipsticks. It glides on like butter and dries down to a matte finish. On the lips it feels lightweight, comfortable and never makes your lips any drier. I love the color selection too. Bourjois is one of those rare drugstore brands that offers more nudes than some other brands. My only problem is the price tag. I think it's a bit much for a drugstore brand. You can get Avon lipsticks for around 4€ and they are great quality. The only difference is they are not as ultra matte as Bourjois and may be just a tad less comfortable on the lips, but still more comfortable than many others.

Review: Essence LE Glow...Baked Metallic Highlighter (02)

I've done it again. Bought yet another highlighter. But to be fair, for the price, this has to be one of the best I've tried. Essence came out with new Limited Edition called simply Glow... It's a whole collection filled with products that will add glow to your face. Glowing powders, highlighters, palettes, liquid highlighters, fixing sprays and such. I chose one of their metallic highlighters, because it looked so metallic and glowy.

Packaging

It comes in a transparent packaging. It's a bit flimsy, so I would be careful with it. In it is 5 grams of product and it costs 3.59€

Formula

It's a baked formula which means it's hard to the touch and dry. That being said, it has amazing pigmentation. By just lightly touching it, you get amazing color payoff with crazy metallic glow. Shimmer in it is tiny, so the sheen looks uniformed without any shimmer popping out. It looks very metallic and bright. The base is opaque, so it's not one of those more transparent shades.

Colors

You can choose among three different colors. One is very light for fair skin tones, one is slightly more peach toned for light skin tones and one is pure gold for medium skin tones.

I chose shade 02...like you're doing what you love. It has light peach base color with silver champagne metallic sheen. It's that perfect mix of cooler silver sheen mixed with just slight warmth of champagne sheen. Not too cool nor too warm. Perfect for fair to light skin tones. The more you apply it, the stronger peach base you get. Less you apply it, more silver champagne sheen you get.

Comparison

After I first tried it on my face, I immediately thought it's similar to Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian as far as the intensity of glow goes. The color is actually not similar. More of a warm peachier version, but the bright glow is very similar.

Sleek Highlighting Palette Solstice in Equinox - it's actually the least shiny out of all the three. Metallic glow is much more subtle. Base is peach toned and the sheen is silver, but fairly natural looking. This base is very similar to the Essence base.
Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian - the base is warm champagne and the sheen is metallic silver, but leans warmer because of the base. It also has a bit of that transparency to it where you can still see the skin through. It makes it looks more glossy. Sheen is much cooler than with the essence and glow is even slightly more metallic.
Essence LE Glow... in 02...like you're doing what you love - also has a peachy base with pale silver champagne sheen. Intensity of glow is very similar to Flexitarian, although not quite as intense, but the base is peach toned and the sheen is definitely warmer.

L to R: no highlighter, light application, heavy application

Performance

It's very long lasting. The intensity stays almost the same through the whole day. It may fade just a bit as my natural oils and sebum mix with it, but I was surprised how bright and glowing this stayed until the end of the day.

It looks amazing on the inner corners of the eyes as well.

This highlighter is exactly what it's described to be - baked and metallic. It's not for the faint of heart. This is a proper definition of metallic highlighter. Shade is very wearable for fair to light skin tones (warm, neutral or cool skin tones). It's not too cool nor too warm. Sheen is lovely without any visible shimmers, it's pigmented and long lasting. This is a no-brainer, of course I recommend it. It's cheap and the quality is just amazing. Essence did it again. I have a lot of their LE highlighters and the quality always surprises me, especially considering the price.

Review: Beyu Beauty Queen Volume Mascara

When it comes to mascaras, I love a good volume as well as some added length, but above all I want my lashes to still be defined and not look clumpy. I just found another one of my favorite mascaras and it's Beyu Beauty Queen Volume Mascara.

Packaging

It comes in a copper orange packaging with white writing. In it is 12 ml of product and it costs 11.99€

It has that basic natural hair bristles wand that are shorter at the end of the wand and go slightly wider towards the beginning of the wand. It coats lashes well, catches even the smallest ones and is easy to work with, although a bit on the bushier side.

Formula

It's slightly wetter in the beginning, but in no way wet formula, it's actually great from the start. As it gets older, it dries down even more. It gives you more volume, but the bristles also become more clumpy, although this might be, because I have been using this for a really long time. I should probably throw it away, but I don't want to since it still works just fine.

L to R: no mascara just curled lashes, one coat of mascara, second coat of mascara

Performance

It gives lashes great amount of volume and it also makes them look longer. I was immediately impressed as it didn't clump them up. In the beginning, it can look just slightly clumpy, if you apply a lot of coats, but as it becomes older, it doesn't clump them anymore.

It also holds my curl for the whole day. My lashes don't drop. It's long lasting, because it doesn't crumble or smudge through the day. Even though this is not a waterproof mascara, I can easily sweat in it.

It really reminds me of L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara. The only difference being the price tag (L'Oreal is more expensive) and the fact that L'Oreal contains about the half amount of product that Beyu does. Beyu mascara lasted me for about 3 months, which is impressive and I still use it. While L'Oreal will literally last you 4 weeks.

This is definitely one of my favorite mascaras so far. I especially like the volume that it gives to my lashes. It also lengthens them, holds the curl well and doesn't crumble or smudge. It has good amount of product in it and the price is reasonable. I would definitely repurchase it. It's their bestseller for a good reason.

If you want to see how it works on very long, but hard to curl lashes, you can check out Mateja's review.
