Hey Beauties!
I've been using Got 2 Be Guardian Angel Heat Protect. It seemed to have worked fine, but it always left my hair crunchy and crispy like a hair spray and I didn't like it. Then I tried this version from L'Oreal and I fell in love.

L'Oreal has two Elnett Heat Protect Styling Sprays. One is for volume and one is for straight hair. I used the Smooth version, for silk straight effect. It's basically a heat protect, which should protect your hair from heat damage of flat iron, curling wands and even blow drying. It should protect your hair up to 230°C. You should use heat protect products if you want to prevent damage to your hair like split ends and over dried hair. This one protects from hair damage and also moisturizes your hair. It should make your hair smooth for up to 3 days. L'Oreal experts also use it as a product to tame the frizz and lock in the flyaways.
Now on to my experience. First of all the packaging is a standard plastic bottle with a very nice black pump on top. I love how easy and spot on this pump is. It produces a really nice thin mist. There's also a little push square. If you press it to one side, you lock the bottle and if your press it to the other side you unlock the bottle, so you don't have to worry about product spilling all over your bag.
The ingredients list.
It's an off-white liquid. I like to spray it on my hands and than put it trough my hair, but you can obviously spray it directly to the hair. Just a warning... this spray is extremely slippery! I don't recommend spraying this all over your bathroom, because you might break someone's leg. It really is that slippery when it lands on the floor.
I wanted to demonstrate how it looks like on the hair, although it's pretty obvious. On my top photo are my freshly washed hair. As you can see my ends dry really quickly, because they are naturally a lot drier then the rest of the hair.
On the bottom photo is how my hair looks like when I apply the heat protect. Right after the application my hair feels a bit more moisturized and smooth. The spray seems to coats them with something slippery, which makes my hair very smooth as it promises.
Then I just use a blow drier and dry my hair and here is the result. I don't usually have problem with frizz or flyaways, so I can't comment on that. It definitely feels moisturizing and makes my hair a bit nourished and very smooth to the touch. I wouldn't say it will make your hair absolutely straight. I have naturally straight hair, but they sometimes tend to form some waves, especially when I pull my hair back behind my ear. So I wouldn't agree on having your hair straight and silk for three days. Maybe if you blow dry it with a brush, the effect could last a bit longer.
The spray has a very distinct strong smell. I can't describe it. It smells like a hair salon (cliche I know, but that's how I feel about it).
The smell was the first thing that reminded me of another amazing heat protect product and it's the heat protect from GHD (Good Hair Day). I swear, as soon as I smelled it in the store I knew it reminded me of some other product. I feel like I need to mention that GHD one was the best heat protect I ever used and I feel like this one is a very similar product. I wish I had the old bottle of GHD, because the texture is the same, I swear the smell is too.. I really think these two could be dupes.
All in all, this is probably the best drugstore heat protect spray. I know I'm apparently very late to the party, but I'm just glad that I arrived. If you're looking for something moisturizing and effective to prevent you from damage and over-dryness while using your heat tools, then go for this one. If you're looking for something to make your hair straight, I wouldn't go for this one. I would say try some other products that are meant for hair straightening.
